A lot of Retriever parents are curious about whether they should get a collar or harness for their dog. A Harness or a Collar? A collar is the first thing you buy when you get a dog. Invented long before harnesses, collars are what most people will buy after they get a dog. Collars can be a good option, but it depends on whether your pup has a tendency to pull when on the leash. We also have some great tips on how to do no pull training with your dog. Being a friendly breed, these dogs are often excited to interact with other people and dogs. Side-Effects of Using Harsh Collars Sudden Jerks If your dog is untrained, there might be too much pulling and pushing that can lead to injuries. If there is enough damage to the nerves, this can also cause an abnormal sensation in the front paws. Thyroid Damage If your dog pulls, traditional collars can damage the neck or the thyroid gland. Any pressure on this area of the body can influence the metabolism of your furry friend, causing issues like weight loss or gain, fatigue, and hair problems. Ear and Eye Injuries Whenever you pull your dog by the collar, both eyes and ears will feel certain pressure. In the long term, it can arise conditions like glaucoma or thin corneas. Although this silicone ID tag is more expensive than standard tags, I love that it is silent and attaches right to the collar. Crate and or containment gate Puppies are curious creatures that often need boundaries. You can accomplish this with a crate and containment gates. Crate training can be a lifesaver, and most dogs fall in love with having their own space. I recommend a crate with an adjustable divider so you can give your puppy more room as they grow. Another option is to use a Cumbor containment gate to limit access to certain areas of your home. Food and water bowls There are endless options of food and water bowls. If your dog eats fast, I recommend adding slow feeder attachment. These aids in proper digestion and reduce overeating behaviors. Food and treats Your vet is probably your best source of information for selecting the right food. They create personalized plans for your dog and deliver the food right to your door. They come in either F1, F1b or Multigen generations. Mini Doodles pounds and inches tall - This is the result of any number of combinations depending on the size of the parents. It is not possible to have an F1 Tiny Doodle because breeding the smallest Poodle possible to a full sized Golden Retriever will still give no guarantees that the puppy will be in the pound range. Tiny Doodles only come in the F1b generation at Doodle Creek. These dogs typically have low to non shedding coats. Some will have the straighter coats with a loose wave to it. These coats will sometimes be low shedding. Others will have the fleecy coats and will shed very little to nothing at all. If you have allergies, you may want to consider the F1b or Multigen breedings. These dogs will quite often look very similar to the F1 English Goldendoodles in that many still keep that nice, fleecy coat type. The litters normally have a few with the fleecy coat types and a few with the curly coat types. The fleecy coat typed F1b puppies are typically extremely low to non shedding. The F1b is an excellent choice for those who suffer from allergies. Immediately Bulldogs became a massive fascination for me. The cartoons with bulldogs were by far my favorite. I would become a very excited kiddo each time a bulldog made a television appearance. This fascination grew into an obsession. Unfortunately, my first introduction to a real bulldog was a disappointment mixed with a strange sense of enthusiasm. My friend Mikey had a female English Bulldog at his house. She was tiny, chunky, super cute, and snorty. He showed me that when he nudged her chest with his shoe, she would grip it and snarl in rough play. Her bully mind was incredible, but her body was lacking. I really thought bulldogs were going to be how television portrayed them to children. There had to be something better. I was fifteen years old when I met Mr. Jack, an over-sized English Bulldog stud. I spent hours playing and wrestling around with him.
