This girl is currently super scared of new things and will need a lot of work to grow her confidence. Willow is a 2 year old, female Golden Retriever. She weighs 59 Pounds but looks way smaller and compact. She will be spayed, vaccinated and microchipped as part of her adoption. She is thankfully Heartworm negative. Willow does have a serious medical issue. She has a higher level heart murmur. She will need a family that can afford cardiology visits and likely medication for life. This is not fixable, it is something that needs to be managed throughout her life. Currently you would never know there is anything wrong with her health. If you do not have serious funding for vet care please do not apply to adopt her. She needs a home capable of supporting her through this for life. She is very shy at first and startles easily with loud noises. If you give her a few hours she becomes your shadow. She loves to cuddle up with you and get all the pets. She is doing great with other dogs and another confident dog in the house really helps her. We do not know how she would do with cats. She is not fostered with kids but did great at the vet with children loving on her. She does need the kids to give her space for the first few days while she adjusts. Willow is doing great with her training so far. Shes potty trained and crate trained. She will go in her crate on her own and relax if you leave the door open. Shes great in the car and does well on the leash. She has a medium energy level currently. When she settles in she gets more playful and excited but also has a lot of relaxed cuddle times. She loves you to be petting and touching her at all times. She likes running around the yard and is starting to play with toys. Due to her shy nature and her heart issues we are requiring a fenced yard for her. So far we have not seen any issues with her sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or people. It usually incorporates inclines depending on the terrain and offers a host of other sights and sounds for your dog. Not all trails allow dogs, so check in advance to be sure. And if the trails do allow dogs, then most will require that you keep them leashed. Keeping your Golden on a leash is a good idea anyway since if you lose your dog in a thick brush or a forest, you may never get them back. Also, you want to be mindful of any encounters with small animals like squirrels or porcupines or bigger critters like bears. Just keep them leashed to be safe. Rocky and ungroomed, jagged trails can cause issues with their paws, so be alert to the type of landscape on the hiking path. Make sure to bring water and snacks for you and your dog. Also, throw a small backpack on and take some essentials just in case. Bring a first aid kit along at a minimum. Remove any you find and be thorough. The wavy and curly fleece coat types both grows in length away from the skin unlike wool which is made up of much tighter curls. This is a Medium coat and requires a moderate amount of brushing to prevent matting. Doodles have one of the more complex coat types to maintain, and most will require a professional groomer every weeks, depending how long you want to keep them. Grooming a Doodle is not an option unless you become a groomer yourself. I recommend combing your Doodle weekly in between your grooming appointments to avoid mats and do not expect your Groomer to attempt to brush out your Doodles mats because most will not. The Humane Society of United States, which publishes the annual report, said the purpose is to warn consumers about common problems in puppy mills. What's most terrifying, the Humane Society said, is the same families in central Ohio keep changing ownership and kennel names to avoid the risk of being repeat offenders. US Adam Yoder of Sugarcreek failed three consecutive inspections for neglecting to obtain veterinary care. Yoder, who owns Artisan Creek, also known as Sunrise Kennel, was issued multiple violations including failure to fully address the issue of 12 dogs needing dental assistance. During a Nov. And, in some instances, allowing Miller to perform teeth extraction, according to the report The USDA found Miller, a Millersburg dog breeder, to be practicing veterinary medicine without a license, which is a violation of state law. Ivan Barkman, owner of Lone Pine Kennel in Baltic, was cited for repeat violation for a puppy who was coughing and raspy, a violation for a dog with a severe ear infection with discharge was draining down her face. Inspectors noted the dog had the problem for at least five months without being treated by a veterinarian. Michael Troyer, owner of Spring Side Kennel in Baltic, failed to obtain dental treatment for dogs even after the inspector required it and neglecting to take the animals to a veterinarian for professional care. Troyer took them to another licensee who is not a veterinarian. Adrian Mast of Dundee failed state inspections due to more than 18 different violations - including an underweight male Irish setter, a female Irish setter with mange and improperly preforming his own veterinary procedures. The inspector also noted unsafe conditions and a variety of other problems. Ruth Miller's Country Acres Bulldogs in Dundee was cited in September for a number of issues, including five dogs who had eye disorders left untreated. Inspectors also noted Miller offers AKC puppies for sale on its website and also offers to ship puppies sight-unseen to buyers, although it does not appear Miller has a USDA license. Alvin Herschberger of Patriot was cited in September for a puppy who couldn't walk and wasn't receiving proper treatment. The inspector also noted two other puppies in the litter had died from unknown causes eight days after birth. Other issues noted included 18 dogs housed outside with no protection from the elements, dogs who only had metal barrels as shelter, and self-feeders with open tops. As of March, Herschberger seems to have dropped the former USDA license number under his name, but has applied for a new license under Hilltop Puppies. Inspectors found a limping Maltese, a bulldog with an inflamed neck, and other dogs with notable skin abrasions while visiting Ivan Miller in Sugarcreek in October. In addition, they found a number of dogs were on unsafe wire flooring which didn't provide solid flooring to allow them to move freely. On a subsequent visit in January, inspectors found excessive feces accumulation in five outdoor enclosures housing a total of 14 adult dogs.
