He is the size of a Labrador Retriever. He was at the shelter where he came in as a stray. They treated him there for an ear infection and some mild skin inflammation which he has long recovered from. We did notice cloudiness in both eyes and were diagnosed with cataracts. Surgery was done to remove them and has recovered well but will need 2 different eye drops for life. He can be very playful with other playful dogs and loves to play fetch, or, can cuddle up next to you just as well. Walks are his favorite activity. He is also good with calm, friendly smaller dogs. He has not been around cats. With children, he does better with 12 years and older. Leon becomes attached to his human and will follow them like a shadow. He can be a little stubborn and will growl and snap at times when disciplined or if bumped while sleeping. He has been adopted twice and returned for this reason. Once he is comfortable in his new home, he will do it less. He may have separation anxiety at 1st, but with time and patience, he gets over it. He does better with a furry companion. He just needs someone to give him a chance. We believe he would do good in a house with a big yard, another playful dog, or an experienced, active family. If you want to meet Leon and see if he fits you, email us at heartandhomerescueorg gmail. We raise high-quality Mini Labradoodles as well as a few other breeds. A little cuckoo in the best way. These are a few ways that parents of Boxer puppies might describe their pooches. The Boxer is one of the most popular dog breeds for good reason. Those adorable looks are backed up by big personalities. Do you think a Boxer puppy is right for you? Brush up on your facts about Boxer puppies before you adopt! That can make quite a mess! Boxers are known for their puppy-at-heart attitude that shines through their young adult years. Be sure to give your Boxer puppy plenty of space to exercise and play, and teach them how to settle down if need be. This stubbornness also can carry over into aggression. Some Boxers can get rough with dogs of the same size and sex. Be sure to socialize your Boxer pup early and often and set up expectations early to avoid too much drama. Your Boxer puppy will have tons of energy, but as they age, the need for snuggles and downtime will start to balance out with the need for play. Page 8 Hurley the Boxer puppy at 4 months old; Hurley looks a lot like Bruno. On one of the first warm days of the spring season Bruno the Boxer enjoys sitting outside in the sun. Later Bruno decides it's time to also warm up his underside. His father is a very tall, confident male and his mother is a very gentle and attentive female. Ramsey is very attached to his family and whines at the window when my husband goes to work or when my daughter gets on the school bus. He is also very gentle to my year-old daughter. He often falls asleep with the children on the rug in the family room. He needs to be out! He loves to play fetch and leaps over fallen trees in the woods. He walks 3x a week and plays with the kids or ball for the remaining week days. Ramsey loves people and children. He becomes excited when extended family members visit and sits in their lap so that they won't leave. We love him very much. He also doesn't realize that he's 70 pounds of pure muscle and tries to be a lap dog like a Yorkie! Sadie loves this football; she plays tug-o-war with it. In this picture she had been holding it in her mouth for the longest time. Although the Poodle is the national dog of France, they actually originated in Germany over years ago where they were commonly used as a duck hunter. Their curly coat protected them from the elements and they were bred for their excellent swimming skills, high intelligence, and incredible retrieval skills. The Poodle comes in three sizes — Standard, Miniature, and Toy. Throughout history, this dog breed has served many purposes. From living in the lap of luxury as companions to nobility to working out in the field as a valuable hunting companion to entertaining people in circuses around the world, the Poodle is right at home. Although they are more popular as a companion dog, the Poodle still maintains their athleticism and working dog instincts. Poodles are known for their intelligence, cheerful disposition, and sensitive nature. They are versatile dogs that make great family companions. They tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. Due to their sensitive nature, they tend to be a better fit for older children who understand how to approach and interact with a dog appropriately. These dogs prefer peace and harmony in the household, so very young children that are too loud or rough can stress them out. The Standard Poodle also tends to be quite energetic until they are about two years old and may be prone to knock over small children in their excitement. Standard Poodles also tend to make great watchdogs and have some protective instincts. Without proper socialization, they can become skittish, nervous, and wary of strangers. Making sure any puppy is socialized early and often helps them grow into a confident, well-rounded dog. Standard Poodles are highly adaptable dogs. Their energy level tends to make them better-suited for larger homes with room for them to run. But, they can adapt well to apartment living as long as they receive the exercise, mental stimulation, and affection that they need. They tend to do well in most climates. As with most dog breeds, they are sensitive to very hot and very cold weather. These dogs are in-tune with their owners and thrive on human companionship and affection, so they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. Poodles are a relatively healthy dog breed, but there are some potential health concerns to be aware of. Because of their larger, barrel-chested body type, the Standard Poodle is also at risk for bloat. Responsible breeders will screen and test their stock to ensure the genetic propensity for breed-related conditions is not passed along to the puppies. Poodles are highly intelligent, sensitive, and eager to please their owners. They are highly trainable, pick up things quickly, and are a good fit for owners of any experience level. Because they are sensitive and in-tune with their owners, they respond best to consistent, positive training techniques focused on rewards and praise. Poodle coats are curly or corded and come in a wide variety of colors. Although Poodles are known for their low-shedding, hypoallergenic coats, their coats still require a lot of maintenance. Keeping your Poodle in a short clip can help reduce daily maintenance, but still requires regular professional grooming every four to six weeks to maintain it. A longer coat requires daily brushing in order to prevent matting in addition to professional grooming every four to six weeks. Regular professional grooming often helps with this as nail trimming should be done monthly, at least, to keep nails from growing too long. Dental care for dogs , like brushing their teeth or using an enzyme toothpaste every day, is essential to protecting them from painful dental diseases like gum disease and tooth decay. You, your dog, and your groomer will thank you for it! Who knows? If you ensure these experiences stay positive, they could even become a bonding time that your dog enjoys. These are high energy dogs that require a good amount of exercise and mental stimulation every day in order to be happy and healthy. They love to stay busy and may enjoy running with you, going for a swim, taking trips to the dog park , hiking with you, and more. They also tend to be a good fit for several dog sports, such as agility, dock diving, obedience, flyball, tracking, and more. Replacement costs of these types of goodies will range based on how quickly your Bulldog destroys their current supply. You can also order subscription packs from many reputable companies that give your dog new exploratory items every month. Since these dogs are at risk for many health complications, save as much as you can—erring on the side of caution. The best time for obedience lessons is between 6 months to a year, but every trainer varies in preference. Depending on the treatment, you could spend thousands of dollars in one swoop. Pet sitting is more personalized care but can rack up extra fees. If you want to save as much as possible while still giving your Bulldog the care they need, look at these money-saving tips. They mainly offer spay and neuter surgeries at reduced costs, but they can also provide basic care. You can make anything from dog toys to intricate beds. Many things you can make may not even require going to the store for materials—you can simply make them from existing items at home. Auto-Ship Dog Food If you buy your dog food from certain websites, many companies offer discounted prices if you place an automatic, recurring order. Of course, you can always save on English Bulldog costs by using low-cost services and making tons of at-home projects and toys for your pooch. However, that price can increase significantly, even into five figures, depending on the location and reputation of the breeder. Reproducing requires artificial insemination. These factors increase the investment for French bulldog breeders. The more investment a breeder makes into producing healthy high-quality dogs in good environments, the higher the price will be. The rarer the color is, such as blue, lilac or chocolate, the more you can expect to pay. Certain coat patterns, such as pied, merle or brindle, will also be more expensive. Female French bulldogs and those with blue eyes are pricier as well. Adopting through the French Bulldog Rescue Network is a more affordable way to acquire a new puppy or adult Frenchie. The French bulldog breed is exceptional with many rare characteristics that make them popular among dog owners. But there are also some challenges and things to watch out for. French Bulldog Size Fully grown French bulldogs average 12 inches tall. Adult females often weigh between 16 and 24 pounds, and males reach 20 to 24 pounds. Most French bulldogs will continue to gain weight until about 14 months old but stop gaining height between nine and 12 months. There are also mini Frenchies, also known as teacup French bulldogs. These are bred to be miniature versions of standard French bulldogs, weighing between five and 14 pounds. They typically shed in spring and fall, so you should increase coat brushing during that time to help reduce hair in your home. This can help you save on grooming costs. French Bulldog Appearance Along with breeds like English Bulldogs and pugs, French bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, which means they have a shortened snout. Their faces are wrinkly and scrunched, giving them a distinct look, even as puppies. French Bulldog Colors French bulldogs come in many different coat colors. These include neutral colors — such as cream, gray, tan and black — as well as more rare colors like lilac, blue and chocolate. The rarer the color, the more expensive the price of a French bulldog will be. French Bulldog Temperament These pups are affectionate and playful, making them great companions. Training is recommended for French bulldogs since they can march to the beat of their own drum without guidance. Most Frenchies respond well to training, especially when treats are involved. Trainers believe French bulldogs understand commands but are moody and will respond as they feel like it. Frenchies are great family dogs, do well around other pets and prefer companionship. A companion will also allow you to leave them alone for longer periods of time without them getting frustrated. But, of course, another pet will come with its own costs. French Bulldog Activity Level Frenchies are not the best dog if you want a jogging companion. French Bulldog Life Expectancy French bulldogs have an average lifespan of 12 years if well taken care of. If they remain in great health, they can live as long as 15 years. Your veterinarian will periodically examine your Frenchie to ensure he or she is growing properly. Due to their flat faces and short necks, it can be difficult for French bulldogs to use standard feeding bowls. You can instead provide elevated dog food and water bowls to help your pet eat and drink more comfortably. Buying treats, toys or a comfortable dog bed can also help your Frenchie feel welcome in its new home. Alternatives to Buying From a Breeder As an alternative to buying a purebred dog from a breeder, consider adopting a purebred rescue or shelter dog. Locations, availability and adoption fees vary, but procuring your purebred dog through the rescue network can be a lower-cost and more satisfying alternative to buying from a breeder. As you plan your budget, keep in mind adoptable rescue and shelter pets have most likely already been spayed or neutered, fitted with a microchip, vaccinated, dewormed, started on parasite prevention and treated for at least the most urgent health and behavior problems presented when they arrived at the rescue organization or shelter. These initial expenses are usually covered by the adoption fee. When you choose a purebred dog, you have a good idea of its size at adulthood. As a general rule, the larger the dog, the greater the expense for feeding, equipping, grooming, boarding, insuring and providing veterinary care. Because they are more likely to be inbred from relatively small populations, some purebred and crossbred dog breeds may be at greater risk than mixed-breed dogs for developing particular heritable health conditions. These conditions, which can be debilitating for the dog, heartbreaking for you and costly to treat, are generally well-documented for the various breeds and should be a central focus of your breed research. For example, as a group, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are known to be more prone than average to develop heart disease. German Shepherds have more than their share of canine degenerative myelopathy. Dachshunds have relatively more spinal issues. Boxers have an above-average incidence of cancer. While the most reputable breeders select to improve health by screening breeding stock and attempting to eliminate defective genes, some breeders either carelessly or unknowingly disregard such considerations, and some may even select problematic traits on purpose. German Shepherds selected for their sloping backs tend to have more hip dysplasia. Shar-Peis selectively bred for their skin folds often suffer from chronic skin infections. Such breed-specific health risks can result in higher veterinary care costs. Health Insurance Claims by Breed One indicator of the cost of care for dogs of various breeds is claims paid by pet health insurers. Another list based on insurance claims data was published by Forbes Advisor as part of a more comprehensive article on pet health insurance. They were initially looking for a schnauzer, but then his daughter discovered an exotic, mystical creature online: a French bulldog with hair that was long and fluffy and coloring that was a mottled pattern, known as merle, in soft pink-tan and blue-gray shades. Roman Wexler purchased Nora, a fluffy merle-colored French bulldog, after his daughter spotted the puppy online. In , they were the second most popular dog breed in the United States — knocking German shepherds down a notch — and the top dog in New York City, according to the American Kennel Club. The breed standard is a short coat in brindle a streaky brown that can appear black , cream, white or fawn, with the possibility of white marking. Menczel estimated that demand has increased tenfold in the past few years. But some say the new iteration could be bad for the breed. Bulldogs are already notorious for a range of health issues , including breathing complications and hip problems. Trying to produce dogs with a unique coat texture linked to a rare recessive gene could encourage irresponsible breeding and exacerbate health issues. Instead of just finding these dogs, unscrupulous breeders [could] start mixing them and making fake fluffies by crossing a Frenchie with a Pekingese. Soon, a Kardashian will be walking around with one. They named her Nora, and she has become a valuable, playful member of the family.

Puppies are smart, and if every time they cry you let them out, they will continue to cry. Instead, positively reinforce their good behavior. If you positively reinforce their good behavior, puppies can learn to quit crying in the crate in just a few short days although some do take longer than that. In the wild, when puppies find themselves alone, they cry to let other members of the pack know where they are. So crying in the crate is natural. The shortcut to teaching her this is to actually not leave her at night, but put her crate in your room. What we did with our dog was instead of putting the crate in our room, we slept out in the living room where the crate was for the first three nights we brought him home. To help your pup realize that the crate is safe, put a toy or two in there with her, play games involving the crate, and feed her in the crate. If your puppy is not getting enough exercise and burning off that crazy puppy energy, her reaction when you put her in the crate might be to cry and whine. Putting a puppy, especially a very young puppy, full of energy in a crate is setting them up for failure. Solution Go play! Games of tug and fetch, and training to mentally tire out your pup, are great ways to burn off some of that puppy energy. Playing with toys is another great way to wear them out. Does your puppy have a nice, comfy bed? Is there enough room in the crate? If your puppy is uncomfortable in his crate, then he might let you know by crying. Solution Check to make sure they have a comfortable bed with enough room. That means that your puppy is starting to be potty trained. Has she gone in the past hour? Did she just drink a lot? Did she just eat? Did she just play or chew a lot? All of these activities could cause your pup to have to go potty. Make sure not to put your puppy in the crate with a full bladder. This will set them up for failure in your crate training efforts, and cause the process to be slow. Solution Take them out to potty! Hey, nobody likes to be bored. Usually, a bored puppy is a bad puppy. Solution Tire them out or keep them entertained. You achieve both of those by giving them fun, exciting toys to play with, taking them out for walks, or playing with them before putting them in the crate. Play with all of his limbs and joints, and if he yelps when you come to a certain part of his body, that may be why he is crying. Another giveaway may be a limp. They can help properly diagnose what is wrong and implement a treatment to get him better. Is your puppy lethargic? Is she vomiting? Does she have diarrhea? Has she not gone in a few days? A sign she may be constipated. Is she excessively licking or biting an area? This may be a sign of infection, allergies, parasites, ticks or fleas. Solution Of course, the solution to a sick, crying puppy is to call the vet. Are they full of energy, like a normal pup? Or are they lethargic? When puppies are between weeks old they go through the bonding stage. This is when they learn who their new parents are and establishes a strong connection with them. Warning: If they cry because they want attention, and you give it to them every time, they may learn that they get attention every time they cry, which can lead to continued crying. Conclusion Your puppy may cry for many reasons, including being: Scared or lonely. Tom Thorpe Blog Golden Retrievers are notorious for separation anxiety. This is why crate training is a very critical part of raising this breed. But if you have a Golden Retriever puppy crying in crate, training will prove challenging. However, one of the biggest challenges of raising this breed is its clingy attitude. They get whiny when you leave them inside the crate, especially at the puppy stage. Why do Golden Retriever puppies cry inside the crate? Like babies, puppies can get scared easily. This will lead to whining and crying, even if they are in the safety of their crate. Your puppy is lonely. The most common reason behind the whining and crying inside the crate is that your puppy is lonely. This happens a lot at night, which will also affect your quality of sleep. You have to understand that being alone is new to your puppy. Imagine being taken away from your litter and placed inside a crate alone. Your puppy needs to potty. If your Golden Retriever pup is fully crate-trained, the crying might stem from its need to potty. Your puppy badly needs to go, so you should take crying as a signal for you to let the doggo out. Remember that puppies can only hold their bladders for short periods. For example, a two-month-old pup can only hold its pee for two hours. With this, you need to take your pup out for a potty trip. If your pup is less than 8 months old, you need to make the sacrifice of bringing them out in the middle of the night. Your puppy is sick. A sick pup is a whiny pup. Your pet might be hurt or ailing, which requires immediate veterinary attention. Your puppy is hungry. Puppies need small yet frequent food servings throughout the day. If your pup cries inside the crate even after going for a potty trip, it might be hungry already. Your puppy wants attention. Golden Retrievers are companion dogs, so they will do everything to get your attention. Your pup will cry, bark, and whine until you give approach them. How to stop a Golden Retriever puppy crying in crate 1. However, giving your dog attention after crying just reinforces the behavior. Over time, your puppy will keep crying inside the crate because he knows that it gets him what he wants. You should avoid giving inadvertent attention to your puppy whenever it cries inside the crate. Instead of running to get your puppy from the crate, you should offer comfort through the succeeding tips. Choose the right crate size. It should only be big enough for your dog to stand up, lie down, and turn. The goal of this cramped space is to mimic the natural habitat of dogs in the wild. Wild canines seek small spaces to evade predators. This is why puppies find comfort whenever they are placed inside the crate. Still, it requires training for domesticated pets. Perform proper crate training Crate training is a long process, so you should stretch your patience. Golden Retrievers are smart canines, but Goldie puppies can have stubborn streaks from time to time. Start the training by introducing the crate to your dog. Swing the door open and let the little Golden Retriever sniff and explore. Take it slowly and allow your pup to acclimate to the crate. Feeding your pup and placing its toy inside the crate will help the dog associate the containment with something positive. Schedule multiple potty breaks As mentioned earlier, puppies need to potty more frequently than adult Golden Retrievers. This also means you have to take them out in the middle of the night. This happens because you failed to provide enough physical and mental stimulation during the daytime. Also, your dog probably slept the entire day, giving them the energy to whine and cry in the middle of the night. You should schedule playtime sessions with your Golden Retriever pup to drain its excess energy. A minute playtime done multiple times a day is a good start. You can also take your pup on a short walk around the neighborhood just before bedtime. You can also give your pet a bouncy rubber toy to keep him moving. Tiring your dog will ensure that it will be sound asleep at night. Choose the right crate location. The crate placement is also important if you want to keep your pup calm and quiet inside. I suggest placing the crate in a common area, like your bedroom. Instead, they place the crib beside their bed. When the baby is older, they will transfer him to the nursery room. One thing you should never do is letting your puppy sleep in your bed. Use a calming spray for dogs. For anxious puppies, a calming spray will be a big help. I used to have these when my Goldies first arrived in our home. It mimics the pheromones of a nursing mother dog, which is very comforting for puppies. Also, calming sprays work for some dogs but not for others. Another trick that works in calming puppies is putting your used shirt inside their crate. Limit distractions Lastly, remove any possible distractions that will keep your puppy awake at night. Hide toys, treats, water, food, and playpen during bedtime. While your pup needs to eat frequently, leaving them with food inside the crate is guaranteed to make a huge mess. Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is the best age to start crate training a puppy? A: Golden Retriever puppies are ready for crate training for as early as 8 weeks old. Just make sure that the pup has been fully weaned from its mother before you start the training. Starting early will make it easier for you compared to teaching an older pup. Q: How long will a Golden Retriever puppy cry in crate at night? A: Puppies can cry all night long inside their crates. This can be annoying, so you should brush up with training while performing the tips I listed above. You should also point out the reason why your puppy keeps on crying inside the crate despite rigorous training. Q: Is it good to let my Golden Retriever puppy sleep on the crate on the first night? A: On the first nights of your puppy, you should let it sleep inside a dog crate right next to your bed. This will help your puppy adjust to its new home while preventing crying and whining at night. However, you should start training your pup to sleep without you in the succeeding weeks. You can also set up a potty patch inside your home, so your pup can eliminate without making a mess. Final words A Golden Retriever puppy crying in crate is often a scared pup. Some are just seeking attention or in need to potty. The key here is understanding why your puppy is exhibiting the behavior so that you can take the right approach. Just remember that punishment and violence have no place in training a dog. You should be patient until your dog learns to be independent. Do I ignore my dog crying at night? Why is my puppy crying at night? Puppies generally go through a period of anxiety as they settle into their new home, especially on that first night. People worry — rightfully — why they often cry at night and how long this will last. Read on what you can do to get your puppy to calm it down for longer than you think it is an anxiety period. It is important that puppies learn routine and the right behaviour. That make take a few days or even longer but it is important for dog owners to recall what you have to do to keep your puppy calm. Why do puppies cry at night? So what is the reason that puppies cry at night? In fact it may not be that complex — pups need socialisation, love and comfort, and sleeping away from the humans family members in the household. Puppies feel vulnerable at night if they are left on their own. They cry because they need company and comfort. Most puppies cry when they need to sleep through the night to go and pee. They also cry if they want to go to the toilet at night and need to be consistent with their toilet training at night. These naturally calm and reassure your new puppy just like when they were with their mother. This can help with crate training and when a puppy sleeps in the crate, the more he will get used to staying in the crate, and that can then be increased up to several hours Should I leave my puppy to cry at night? Not only will you hear it, your neighbors will hear the puppy crying. If you live in a soundproofed room or own a mansion, you can hear the noise. Some puppies will cry for most of the night. They may become so distressed that they have diarrhea. They will then walk in it and get it in their fur in the wee small hours of the morning. It is possible that the distress could cause longer term problems such as anxiety at separation. How to stop a puppy from crying in crate For the first couple of weeks, you can have your puppy in their crate in your bedroom overnight. In the early weeks, your puppy will need to go for the toilet often, day and night. This will also help your puppy know that you are nearby and this will help them to feel less anxious. You can also respond quickly if your puppy is crying to go to the toilet. Your puppy makes it clear when he needs a toilet break and that can help with crate training as well. Conclusion Puppies sometimes have trouble adapting to their new home and make a lot of noise and also therefore have trouble sleeping. If this is happening, it may be that they need some help getting adjusted to the different sounds in your house or are tired from playing too much earlier on. What other reasons for crying are there? You may be surprised to learn that the reason your puppy is crying at night is because they are looking for a secure attachment, especially in the first week. To help them feel more confident at bedtime, try these simple steps. Put something soothing on repeat such as classical music or nature sounds and make sure not to leave any sharp corners or objects nearby that could hurt themselves if startled awake quickly from a deep sleep! First of all, we recommend watching the pup for signs that it needs to go outside or eat something. Finally, if none of these tips work and your pup continues to cry during the night hours despite following these suggestions, consult your veterinarian as soon as possible! Whether you are at home or outside, it is generally discouraged to let your puppy cry into the night. Sometimes, the earliest sounds in a morning are caused by your puppy crying. In that case, do get up and make sure that your puppy get some love. How do you stop a puppy crying at night? Dogs feel vulnerable at night if they are left on their own, which causes them to cry loudly. Most puppies cry when they need to use the bathroom at night. Puppies get comforted by the release of substances, known as pheromones, after their mother dog has given birth. ADAPTIL Junior releases pheromones that mimic those released from mother dogs to calm and reassure a new puppy just like when they were with her. For the first two weeks, crate your puppy in your own room overnight. But that does mean that they will cry or whine when they want to go out. In the early weeks, your pup will need to go for the toilet often. How long does it take for a puppy to stop crying at night? Puppies often cry at night time, and it can be difficult to determine the cause. This can be caused by a few things, but they are all common causes for many puppies. The article above explores what could cause your pup to start crying in the middle of the night, how you should handle each situation, and some tips for getting your puppy back on track with his or her sleep schedule. If you have a dog that is crying at night, the most common reasons are hunger or loneliness. They also may be lonely when other members of the family go to sleep before them. You may need to discuss this with your vet if it is going on for a long time and there may be some calming medication that you can give to your puppy, as puppy crying can be distressing. Dog experts recommend not letting your puppy cry at night. Not only will you hear it, but your neighbors will hear crying, too. This may be related to anxiety about separation or other experience that could cause long-term issues. But if you notice your dog whining at night without any noticeable reason, then there might be something wrong that needs your attention. There are many different reasons why dogs whine at night, and thankfully, most of them are not too serious. Use this list to help narrow down the potential problem in your dog and figure out what to do from there. Pain or Other Medical Problems When dogs are in pain, they whine. If your dog is whining more often only when she lays down, she may be dealing with joint pain or some other problem relating to her position. She may also have some trouble breathing while sleeping or any number of other problems contributing to the whining. Dogs who are advanced in age or who have chronic illnesses may be more likely to whine at night than others due to their health issues. Therefore, you should rule out this possibility completely with your vet before continuing to diagnose the source of the whining. Feeding dogs low-quality food or ingredients that they are intolerant to or allergic to might cause this issue. Dogs who eat too quickly may also develop bloating and can become very sick with other ailments related to digestion as well. Stick with food that has simple, real ingredients that she can easily process. Additionally, you might want to try feeding her a very bland diet for a few days including plain cooked white rice and plain boiled chicken. If the whining eases during this time, then you can safely assume her diet is causing the issue. This may be a problem your veterinarian can help you with as well, so schedule an appointment if you think stomach pain and digestive trouble may be the problem. Boredom Dogs need a lot of stimulation, and they need a lot more exercise than many house dogs get, too. When your dog gets bored and everyone else in the house has gone to sleep at night, this could cause her to start whining at night for what may seem like no reason. She is likely looking for attention or for someone to play with her, or she may want to be let out into the yard to run around—regardless of the time! Anxiety and Separation Anxiety Many dogs suffer from separation anxiety. Your veterinarian can give you some suggestions for behavior training and may offer medication to help with this as well. For example, if your dog is afraid of storms, she is likely to whine during storms and may also hide or become aggressive during this time as well. Lack of Training Dogs who are allowed to continue whining at night throughout their lives without the proper behavioral training will continue to do so as they get older. A lack of training may be the only reason why it may seem like your dog is still whining at night for no reason. You may want to enroll your dog in a behavioral class so the two of you can work together on this issue. You might also consider hiring a dog trainer to focus solely on the whining problem and work one-on-one to solve the problem instead. Either way, more training may be the solution. Puppies whine a lot more than adult dogs, and this is completely normal. They whine because they miss their mothers and littermates, and they whine because they want your attention. If your dog is an adult and has just started whining a lot more than she used to, be sure to schedule a vet visit for the near future just to rule out potential health problems. Dogs whine as a way of communicating with their owners that something is wrong or that they want something. Recent Posts. Separation anxiety The reason might be that it has separation anxiety. This is where it does not like being left alone and it gets anxious when it is left alone. This would be more likely if it sleeps in a different room than you. It would also be more likely if it starts getting anxious when you would normally leave home. In this case, it would help to avoid leaving it for extended periods and to periodically check up on it if possible. Also, it would help to train it to be less anxious when you are leaving and when you are away. To do this you could do as follows: Make it seem like you are about to leave by doing something such as picking up your keys Reward your Golden Retriever for not being anxious and repeat these two steps a few times Make more moves towards actually leaving such as by picking up the keys and putting your hand on the door handle Reward your Golden Retriever for not being anxious and repeat the process a few times Actually open the door and go outside for a few moments then come back and reward your Golden Retriever Repeat the above, each time staying outside for slightly longer You could also do a similar process at night by making it seem like you are going to bed and then rewarding it for not getting anxious. Then you would make it wait for longer and longer periods. It would also help to ensure that it is able to pee before bed so that it does not have to get anxious about having to wait a long time to pee. Scary noises It might be the case that it hears noises that it does not like at night. This would be more likely if it only cries on certain nights or if it only does it when it is in a certain room. It needs to pee It could be the case that it does it because it needs to pee. This would be more likely if it gets you to let it outside when it starts crying at night and if it is a puppy. In this case, it would help to let it go out to pee shortly before going to bed. However, if your Golden Retriever needs to pee a lot during the night and it is not a puppy then it would suggest that it might have an illness. In this case, your best option would be to take it to a vet. Other animals in the yard The reason why it does it might be that there are other animals in the backyard and your Golden Retriever can see or hear them. This would be more likely if you have seen or heard other animals at night or if there are signs of them being in the backyard at night. You have been reinforcing the behavior It might also be the case that you have been encouraging the behavior. If you tend to give it things such as toys, treats or extra attention when it does it then it will likely do it more in order to get more rewards. Instead, it would help to avoid rewarding it when it cries at night and to only give it attention when it seems to be crying due to things such as needing to pee. Things to consider Below are some things to consider when figuring out why your Golden Retriever has been doing it. How old it is If your Golden Retriever is still a puppy, it would be likely that it will start to cry less as it gets older. However, it would help to ignore it when it cries at night unless you think that it needs to pee. If your Golden Retriever is not a puppy anymore, it would help to consider the two things below. However, it could be the case that an illness is causing it to cry at night so it might be worthwhile for you to take it to a vet especially if it has been showing other signs of illness. When your Golden Retriever started crying at night It would help to consider what else happened when it first started doing it if it did not always cry at night. If it started crying at night suddenly, it would make it more likely to be due to things such as illness or injury, it stopped being able to pee just before going to sleep or that you rewarded it for doing it one time. Avoid giving it attention As mentioned above, it might be the case that it does it in order to get extra attention from you. That is unless it seems to be crying for a different reason such as to go outside to pee. Let it go out to pee before bed Since the reason that it cries at night might be because it wants to pee, it would help to make sure to let it go outside to pee shortly before going to bed. If your Golden Retriever is a puppy, it is to be expected that it will still need to pee during the night but this should stop as it gets older. Consider crate training Crate training is where you teach your Golden Retriever to learn to be comfortable inside of a crate designed for dogs. If you crate train your Golden Retriever in the right way it will give it a space where it can feel safe. This will give your Golden Retriever an area where it will be able to feel secure at night without you being around. Give it exercise Golden Retrievers are a breed that is meant to get a lot of exercise on a daily basis. Generally, it is recommended for them to get at least an hour of exercise daily. If your Golden Retriever is not getting that much exercise, it would help to make sure that it does. The most important is safety. Crating helps with house training too. Puppies are unlikely to soil in their crate, and if they wake in the night the crate stops them finding somewhere in the house to toilet. A crate protects household objects from sharp puppy teeth. And crate training is useful in case of emergency and in case your dog is ever hospitalized at the vet. But the first few nights can undoubtedly be rough. Where to Put the Crate The best place to put the crate overnight is in your bedroom. This makes it easier for you to hear if your puppy needs a potty break. Plus, your presence is comforting. Newly separated from their mom and littermates, puppies are not used to being alone. She suggests putting the crate next to the bed. During the daytime either move the crate or have another one set up in your living area and continue with crate training sessions in which good things happen in the crate think treats and dinner. Carry him to prevent accidents en route, and plan ahead by leaving shoes, your coat, and some treats to reward toileting in an easy-to-find spot. Then put your puppy back in the crate. Note that if you want your dog to potty exclusively outside this may set back your housetraining efforts. A week-old puppy should be able to wait for about three hours but may need to eliminate well before this. For house-training purposes, take your puppy out to potty every one to two hours and reward him for toileting outside. In fact, you want him to know that you will help him if he's crying. He may need you to take him outside for a potty break, or perhaps he just needs some reassurance. But guess what? This is not a bad thing! I think it is really important to say here that with puppies we do best to err on the side of comfort and kindness. Comforting your puppy is never the wrong thing to do! A general rule of thumb is that a puppy can hold their bladder one hour for every month of age. So if your puppy is two months old, they can hold it for about two hours. This can be a problem later on if you are one of the unfortunate few whose pup develops separation anxiety. Is Crating Essential? Crating your puppy overnight is a choice. Figure out what they need, and take it from there. And remember—the first few nights are the hardest; after that, it gets easier. Follow a gradual training plan with lots of treats as reinforcement to build positive associations and teach your puppy to view their crate as a safe haven. It should be sized so they have room to stand up, stretch, and turn around, but not too big. Then add some cozy bedding. When they wake up, immediately let them out before they start to cry and take them out to potty. Use nice treats but make them small and be generous with them. Throughout the day, sprinkle treats at the back of the crate for your puppy to discover. If you like, you can feed the meal via a rubber chew toy to make it last longer. Also remember most puppies will want to potty right after eating. With comfort, you can increase the amount of time your puppy remains in the crate after they're done eating, dropping a treat in the crate every seconds, and begin moving around the room or stepping away briefly. The crate is a refuge, a nap spot, and, for pups, a housetraining aid. It is not an area your dog should generally be restricted to.

The Labrador Retriever is also the most popular purebred dog in America for the 21st straight year. More than twice as many Labs were registered than any other breed making it a likely leader for many years to come. In a recent article, a licensed professional counselor for more than twenty-five years, explained how owning a Lab can help produce healthier, happier, more well adjusted children. Here is an excerpt from her article: The ten reasons that I am giving for children to have a dog are not listed in order of importance. All of us have different characteristics which we find more important than others. Every reason I list, however, is important to the childhood of your son or daughter. Having a dog helps teach responsibility to children. Caring for the dog will teach children that their pet is dependent on them for food and exercise and love. Dogs require a lot of care; they need to be fed, walked, played with and trained. Children come to understand that dogs have to learn discipline in order to be pleasant around the family and others. Children come to appreciate discipline by observing how important it is in their dog. Having a dog teaches children patience, commitment and selflessness. Caring for a dog takes a great deal of responsibility. Children learn to be less focused on themselves and more patient with others. Responsibility is a key factor in leadership development in children, and one of the best ways of learning responsibility is in the home with the family dog. Being responsible for a dog teaches children valuable life lessons. The lessons that children learn from having a dog are priceless and may just help in being successful in life and in a career. Hi, Hope you are well. We recently got a KC registered lab puppy at the end of September, I can vouch that there are plenty of responsible breeders out there that are not charging ridiculous lockdown inflation prices. Agree completely with 5labs reply, those are the same reasons for which we would only ever get KC registered pups. We started our research and contacting breeders at the end of June and had a puppy by end of September. To note this can take much longer depending on waiting list availability and we got super lucky through breeder word of mouth. Regarding Kennel Club website - yes the website transfer was shambles, and paperwork has a backlog. That shouldn't be an excuse not to register a litter. If you wish to follow the KC route, here are my tips that I've learnt from chatting with responsible breeders and my own research: 1 Please do NOT buy from pets4homes. You can see the adverts that have poorly written English and make up garbage health tests. I read one along lines of: "this is the most health tested dog in the country" Also found many ask for large non refundable deposits. Even if they are valid ads, the prices always seem to be extortionate. I avoided for peace of mind. Dogs only need to be health tested to be on the website I. I think this covers 3 months. Again watch out for those charging extortionate prices and don't be afraid to ask prices from breeders who don't advertise them. The effort needs to come from you - breeders are being contacted in the s and won't have time to get in touch with you to make initial contact, be proactive. We searched by local counties but quickly had to widen the distance to most of England includes Ireland, Scotland and Wales too as countries. By breeder, we cross-checked current parents and previous litters back to KC website health tests. If they don't exist on KC website, I suggest you ask the breeder for copies of tests up front. We ruled out all non KC registered from the beginning and saved time. We wrote a "mini CV" as an initial introduction message and sent it to select breeders that we thought were great. This just contained basic info such as our names, location, contact details, job details, hours and lifestyle. Easier for a busy breeder to reply to someone who already helps them halfway. Be patient and considerate, I usually gave most breeders a week or two to get back and then followed up. If no reply then I crossed them off. If you do find a puppy, ensure to cross yourselves off any lists you're on I went back and rang so they don't have to chase me when they have litters next year. The thing that makes Goldendoodles so incredibly popular as pets — especially with families that have children — is their outgoing personalities and the fact that they have a real zest for life. Vibrant, social dogs, Goldies do tend to be high-energy and boisterous pups right through their lives, which many owners love about them. You need to be prepared for this before deciding to take one of these darling dogs on. Sure, when Goldendoodles are puppies, they may run you ragged with their cheeky, mischievous behavior. After all, all dogs struggle to control their excitement when they are young. Yet, also like other dogs, Goldendoodles, too, do mellow as they age into adults. As they move from the neonatal period to the transition period to the socialization period, they will not only learn vital motor skills and start to play, but they will also begin to develop relationships with the other dogs and people around them. See Also: Click the image This stage is crucial to how your pup continues to relate to other animals and people as they grow. A top-quality breeding facility will ensure their puppies get plenty of handling and exposure to new stimulation. They will also make sure that all time spent around people is very positive for your pup. These early experiences shape how your dog will continue interacting with people throughout their lives. When you finally bring your Goldie home, they will be slap bang in the middle of the first fear stage. This often lasts from 8 weeks up until 10 weeks. Although dogs are very sensitive to new experiences, especially negative ones, during this brief period, a lot of love, delicious treats, and avoiding activities that seem to spook your pet can help them successfully navigate it. The remaining 2 weeks of these vital first 3 months are the best time to get going with their early training. This is when you are going to lock in toilet training and teach your puppy how to behave around the house. Still, they will be well on their way with the basic and most important aspects of training — the actions that will set them up for life. Depending on their Doodle type Standard, Mini, Medium… , they could be anywhere from half to most of the way to their adult size. Yet you will need to remember that they are still very much a puppy in their thinking and how they respond to things. At this time, it will still be all too common for them to become so frantic and over-excited that their good manners and their training go right out the window. See Also: Click the image You may also start to see an increase in undesirable behaviors such as chewing as their teething really ramps up. Keep this in check by providing appropriate chew toys for them to chow down on. This can help save both your belongings and your poor fingers — ouch! Make sure also that during play, you are very consistent in what you are letting your hound get away with. Mouthing behaviors are only natural, but let your dog know when they go too far with loud pain noises. Withdraw from the play altogether when they push things too far. Remember that it is far easy to train proper behavior from the beginning than correct it later in life. Your dog may try to assert their dominance over you at this time. Like teens, adolescent dogs are all about finding their place in the world. This is when that early training is really going to come into play, as you will be able to redirect their negative behavior and reconfirm the boundaries that they are already more than well aware of. Remain vigilant, though, as part of the testing of what they can get away with involves beginning to think about escape. Make thorough use of toys and games throughout this period. See Also: Click the image Adulthood Just when it feels like you have hit the end of your tether for one bouncy pup all about the place, your Goldendoodle will enter adulthood somewhere around months and start to calm down. While some days it may still feel like your cute canine has ingested an entire pot of coffee or turned into a Mexican jumping bean, especially in the first few years of their adult lives, in actuality, they will have much more control of their own behavior now. They should hit their golden years somewhere between 8 and 12 years of age, depending on their size. With that infamous Goldendoodle vivacity, this is especially vital for these pups. A garden is great for bigger dogs as they can happily chase a Kong Toy or something similar about the place, effectively keeping themselves out of trouble. Alternately you could send the kids out with them, and they could all wear each other out, resulting in a lovely peaceful evening for you. If this is not an option, games of fetch in a well-secured dog park can do the trick just as well. A dog-walker can also help take some of the strain of exercising a particularly lively Dood. Mental Stimulation Boredom can be the absolute enemy of calm, especially when something noteworthy does happen, such as the arrival of a visitor or a trip around the block. If your pup is frequently left alone for long hours, you will find that they are extra-especially lively when they finally get their family back home with them and have something to do again and someone to do it with. Again, this is where canine toys can save you a lot of hassle. These days there is an excellent variety of them with some seriously cool features. The thing about Doodles is those Poodle smarts of theirs make them particularly susceptible to boredom. Puzzle toys offer intellectual challenges whereby your pup has to figure out how to get to a tasty treat, for example. This can easily keep them entertained for hours at a time. The result is a much calmer, happier dog who may not even notice when someone does ring the doorbell. See Also: Click the image Training Training and socialization are also both so, SO necessary for helping your Dood manage their own behavior. Socialization gets your pooch accustomed to meeting new people, being in unfamiliar places, and dealing with different dogs and other animals. Training puts specific commands at your fingertips which can be employed when your pup is getting a little too over the top. Positive reinforcement is a good strategy, but be sure you are only reinforcing the behaviors you want to see continued. If you make a fuss of your fur baby when they are running around or jumping up, if you act as delighted to see them as they are to see you, then you are telling them with your actions that this is the right thing to do. Make a real effort to only pay attention to your pooch only once they have calmed themselves down. New Activities If you have the time, then helping your dog learn new tricks and skills can go a long way to keeping them both physically and mentally happy. Canine sports were practically invented for these offspring of working dogs. They excel at so many of them and will thoroughly enjoy participating. These kinds of activities also serve to reinforce and extend their basic training giving you even more commands you can use for behavior control. Goldendoodles are also big fans of the great outdoors in all its forms. Goldies, being the descendants of two water-loving breeds, will also likely love the chance to swim and hang about in streams, lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Too much of certain kinds of foods could heighten energy to unmanageable levels. Also, take care with the amount that you are feeding your dog each day. Likewise, snacks can cause issues here. A surprising number of calories can be found in even the tiniest treats. If you are using these for training, you may consider switching them out for a clicker or praise-based methods. If your food-focused friend is clearly never going to go for that, a surprising alternative is frozen vegetable treats. These seem to go down very well with most Doodles, according to their owners. A commonly held belief with canines is that getting them fixed can help them to be calmer, and there is some truth in this. Your puppy will likely be every bit as rowdy, but your older dog will be less of a puppet to their hormones. Goldendoodle puppies, like all other puppies, are feisty, fast, playful little things. This lasts a lot longer than you might think, given how quickly they grow to their adult size. Somewhere between 12 and 18 months of age, your dog will mature, and this will be when you will see them having a little more control. Although, they will likely be every bit as energetic as they ever were. This can be tempered somewhat through exercise and play. Is it normal for a Goldendoodle to be energetic? High-energy levels are a feature of the Goldendoodle breed and a trait that they inherit from their intelligent, working-dog parents. In this respect, it is perfectly normal for your Goldie to enjoy plenty of walks and fun. How often should I walk my Goldendoodle puppy? Daily walks are a necessity for every dog, although some breeds require a longer time outdoors than others. Goldendoodles have quite high exercise needs compared to some of the smaller, more sedate Doods. Although this will need to be tailored to their age, a good rule of thumb is to exercise them for five minutes per month of their age — twice a day. So, with a 4-month puppy, two minute walks a day would be sufficient to keep them happy and healthy. Although energy levels of these fine canines vary depending on age, life stage, and individual differences, they do tend to be at the higher end of the spectrum. For this reason, they do best in high-energy family homes or with people willing to take them on plenty of long hikes and with both a garden and the time to play with them. If you think that you can offer a Goldie that kind of life, then you will, no doubt, end up adoring your newest family member almost but not quite as much as they will adore you. Families love this pet for its hypoallergenic coat and playful disposition. Not only is their fur soft, but it's also great for those with allergies. Goldendoodles have found their way into our homes and hearts. If you have recently adopted a Goldendoodle, you might have noticed its zeal for life. Goldendoodle puppies are known for being lively and rambunctious. They're lovers and show it with their energetic behavior. Chances are your Goldendoodle puppy will love you and everyone you know so much that they'll get a little too excited at times. Don't fret! Calming Dog has the perfect products to calm an overly excited pup. You've heard the saying, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Goldendoodle puppies might be a handful, but they sure are man's best friend. You might be asking yourself, what are Goldendoodles? Goldendoodles are what's known as a mixed breed. Mixed breeds are a combination of two different breeds. However, AKC lists the parents as purebred dogs. Goldendoodle puppies come from two different breeds. Golden Retrievers and Poodles create the loveable Goldendoodle. You might be asking yourself, what does this mean when it comes to genetics? This study suggests that mixed breeds are a random combination of both parents. To understand the traits and temperament of Goldendoodle puppies, you must learn about Golden Retrievers and Poodles. Golden Retrievers are considered a sporting breed, and with any sporting breed, they need a good amount of exercise. Poodles, popular hunting dogs for hundreds of years, are also considered very energetic dogs. Therefore, it's crucial to maintain a consistent exercise regimen for these breeds. Since Goldendoodle puppies take after their parents, they also need regular exercise. Too much time in close quarters can result in a contentious, over-excited puppy. Goldendoodles love to play catch with balls or sticks. Both breeds are excellent running or walking companions. Since Goldendoodle puppies are constantly on the go, it's essential to keep them hydrated. Calming Dog has mastered the perfect water fountain design to encourage Goldendoodles to consume water. Holding up to 2. Never worry about your Goldendoodle puppy after a long run or high-intensity game of fetch again. Golden Retrievers and Poodles are both excellent with young children, other dogs and are affectionate overall. Your Goldendoodle puppy will most likely be the same way. When you choose a Goldendoodle for your family, you're selecting a lifelong companion that will become part of the family. One of the hardest parts of having a new puppy is having to leave it home alone. Many pet owners run into the complication of negative behaviors associated with separation anxiety when leaving their puppy. All puppies, including Goldendoodle puppies, might show signs of separation anxiety by urinating, defecating, barking, chewing, digging, or trying to escape from your home when you're not there. You've worked hard to bond with your pup, and it depends on you and is excited to see you when you come home. Goldendoodle puppies don't mean to urinate when they see you or bark incessantly when you leave home. Golden Retrievers are often known as a quieter breed, but Goldendoodles might exhibit the barking traits from their Poodle genetic side. If your Goldendoodle puppy exhibits this unwanted behavior whenever you leave the house, they are likely suffering from separation anxiety. All dogs, including Goldendoodles, can experience anxiety at times. According to Healthline, Anxiety is the body's natural response to stress and is a physical and mental response to stimuli. The biological response to these emotions can be an increased heart rate, rapid breathing, restlessness, trouble concentrating, and difficulty falling asleep. An anxiety attack occurs when an overwhelming sense of worry, fear, or distress significantly increases these physical responses. Other symptoms include feeling faint or dizzy, shortness of breath, dry mouth, sweating, chills or hot flashes, numbness, or tingling in the extremities. It's normal for Goldendoodles to feel anxious at times. For example, if they're excited to go for a run or if they see a squirrel, you're likely to catch your Goldendoodle having a physical response. When Goldendoodles experience a physical reaction to stress, their heart rate will increase, and you'll notice panting and possibly barking. If your Goldendoodle destroys your new shoes or wakes the neighbors with barking, it might be time to invest in your Goldendoodle's mental health. Healthline goes on to explain the effects of stress on the body. Stress can affect your central nervous, endocrine, digestive, muscular, immune, and reproductive system. When feeling stressed or anxious, your central nervous and endocrine systems will overproduce the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol causes your blood vessels to constrict, so your muscles will receive more blood; this is beneficial to normal stress responses. Increased cortisol causes your lungs to demand more oxygen and results in heavy breathing. However, chronic cortisol activation can lead to high blood pressure, resulting in a heart attack or stroke. Have you ever felt sick to your stomach because of worry, fear, or stress? When you're stressed, your liver will overproduce glucose sugar to give you a boost of energy. Too much glucose in your system can lead to developing serious diseases like diabetes. The rush of hormones, heavy breathing, and heart rate matched with the rush of glucose can make your stomach uneasy, which is why symptoms like irritable bowel or constipation occur. You might find yourself vomiting or unable to eat. Stress can also cause muscle strain due to you being unable to relax. Tense muscles can lead to injury or body aches. It's not safe to work out when you are stressed since your muscles cannot function properly. The same goes for your immune system. Too many stress hormones over time will block your body from repairing wounds or fighting off simple colds. Males can also find themselves with lower levels of testosterone under stress. Low levels of testosterone could result in the failure to procreate. Goldendoodles feel stress just like humans, and their bodies function similarly under stress. If your Goldendoodle puppy is urinating or defecating when you're not home, it is likely because anxiety is making their little belly ache. Defecating in the house is your Goldendoodle puppy's physical response to fear and worry. It's out of their control, so don't get angry at your puppy. Instead, help them manage their stress by investing time and energy into proper training by using these incredible tools. Goldendoodles are highly intelligent dogs and will benefit from a bit of help from their human companions. One of the most successful ways to manage stress is through meditation. Most dog breeds need a healthy walk or play daily to tire themselves out; in this case, Goldendoodles have so much energy that this is one of the most important aspects of caring for one. If your doodle is overactive, it can help to take an hour of walk time daily to burn some of that energy. However, you may see an energy spike from just one missed session. A bonus tip for a good walk is to go somewhere where they can run around off-leash; this is great for an energy-filled doodle. Getting your dog active is the first step to take if you want to manage their behavior. Toys Can Be Helpful Playing fetch with sticks is a classic game and can help with overactive doodles, but consider investing in some specialized toys. If doodles are bored, they can become excited when something unusual happens, resulting in a crazy episode. Mental stimulation through toys can result in fewer overreactions and seemingly calmer behavior. Even a simple chew toy can help relieve stress, helping to reduce barking and overstressed out behaviors. Indoor dog games and toys are great, allowing doodles to play without the hassle of scheduling outside time. Good toys are rubber chew toys, tennis balls, stuffed animals, flavored toys, ropes, treat dispensers, puzzles, and squeaky toys. Note that squeaky toys are a favorite — so if you buy one, you will be putting up with additional noise! Scent Training Scent training or nose work is a simple pastime for Goldendoodles and can wear them out mentally and physically. This is also a great indoor activity. This could be done by placing hides in a plastic container that makes an interesting noise, getting your dog to reach into boxes with their nose, or reducing the number of hides but putting out extra boxes to search through. The increase in difficulty will help boost self-assuredness; while doodles often have self-confidence, this is still an excellent exercise for them. Sniffing is mentally and physically tiring for a Goldendoodle, which can help use up their crazy energy. However, it can help assess how you and your family react to their bouts of energy. This can reinforce the behavior, and the cycle repeats. Some even suggest practicing bringing the energy level down during playtimes. Try playing for a couple of minutes and then being calm for one. This shows your doodle the difference between play and calm and can help them get used to both. We can all be so busy with work and our lives, so scheduling in walkies can be difficult. Dog walkers are easy to find these days; thanks to the internet, try some helpful dog-walking apps, such as Rover, to connect with trusted walkers. This can take some of the pressure off of you and can keep your doodle active. A bonus to getting some help with walking is that if your doodle is extra active, you also have extra energy to play with them if someone has helped you walk them! Remember To Be Calm Sometimes if we are stressed, dogs can sense this and become anxious too. This can then lead to over-excitement, and undesirable behavior, which in turn stresses us again, and the cycle keeps escalating. Calm yourself and then calm your dog; practice just relaxing sitting around your dog. This is a great way to teach them patience and to help you not react to their energy. When your doodle sits calmly, remember to praise them for being good. Practicing a sit command is always a good way to train your dog; it helps create patience and be easy going about things that excite them. Overactive Behavior When A Goldendoodle Is Older Once the puppy stage is over, a reduction in energy levels and manic behavior is expected. Goldendoodles are fun and excitable for life! Excessive Barking Sometimes learned behaviors from puppyhood will continue later on in their lives, for example, problem chewing or excessive barking. This needs to be dealt with earlier to nip them in the bud. There are strategies and training to curb this problem, and it can be linked to learned puppy behaviors. Strategies include playing tricks and babying the doodle; you may also have to block out windows to stop excessive barking. If this action becomes painful, biting, or continues after 12 months of age, it can be time to seek advice from a professional or start at-home training. Play biting should stop significantly when the puppy teeth have been replaced; this should be at approx 8 months of age. Essentially, if you want a dog to have less energy, then you should look for a Goldendoodle around the year mark. Playtime is less important to them than naptime. One behavior that puppies often perform is jumping on people. Some see this as an overexcited dog instead of a calm one. Puppies and younger dogs are just excited to see new people and new dogs. They might jump up as a result to reach faces for those special dog kisses. Understandably, this can make some people wary. For Goldendoodles, who can be larger dogs, jumping up on people can sometimes cause injuries. To help your dog remain calm, you should train your Goldendoodle to stop jumping up. Dogs greet one another nose-to-nose. Hence, they jump to reach their noses. There are a few ways you can handle a jumping dog. Our article on Goldendoodle jumping gives even more options to manage this behavior. Confinement The first is to manage the behavior. This confines their ability to jump. This can be done with the help of someone that they want to meet. Give them the command to sit whenever the person appears. Your training regime should be as follows. Have your dog sit, and then let the person enter the room. If the dog gets up to greet them, the person immediately leaves the room. Once more, you ask the dog to sit, and then the person enters the room. Continue this until the Goldendoodle remains sitting while the person enters. All progress should be reinforced with yummy treats, like these natural tidbits. Another aspect of owning any puppy is the inevitable puppy nips. Puppies nip and gnaw for a few reasons. One is that they are teething. They need to chew to relieve some of the pain and irritation in their mouths. To inhibit puppy nipping, you should begin by making your hand go limp when the puppy bites too hard. Finally, introduce chew toys this variety pack is perfect for little mouths with sharp teeth , and distract your puppy with them when they come to play. No products found. He goes to sleep promptly at 10 pm. Edit: F1, 70 lb horse of a doodle. The only puppy pics I have of him are sleeping or a blur. Hopping and hugging all over everyone with a reckless abandon. Hol-ee Roller Ball see on Amazon — Super durable yet soft, over-sized ball. For owners who want to encourage their dog to remain calm, commands are going to be your best-used tool. The commands you should teach to your dog are to sit, lie down, and to be silent. All of these can prevent bad behaviors that might otherwise occur. Sit for jumping up, laying down for running, and silent for barking. Are Goldendoodles Easy to Train? Both the Golden Retriever and the Poodle are extremely intelligent dogs. Their Goldendoodle child is just as intelligent. They also love to please their owners. So, if you couple training with a lot of praise and treats, your Goldendoodle will love to train and learn new things. Of course you want the very best for your Goldendoodle, but raising a puppy can be tough and full of challenges. Although your new canine companion will always be energetic and full of fun, he will gradually calm down as he matures and gets older. As a general rule of thumb, you can expect your dog to begin settling down between 12 and 18 months of age. At that age, your furry fireball will be moving out of puppyhood and becoming more mature. Three Stages Of Goldendoodle Energy Levels There are three accepted stages of Goldendoodle energy levels: Puppy stage: Goldendoodle puppies are absolutely chock full of boundless energy and often show manic behavior! Adult stage: Your adult Doodle will still have a high level of energy, but that will gradually diminish. Senior stage: Just like people, senior Goldendoodles are generally less crazy than younger dogs and have a lower activity level. Every dog is different, and some are more lively than others. As a puppy, your Goldendoodle will be bouncing with energy! Your pup will want to play, run, jump in short bursts. Between those frantic bouts of energy and playtime sessions, your Doodle puppy will take a nap, eat, and have another nap. As your puppy gets older, the need for napping decreases, but their levels of energy increase! So, a Goldendoodle puppy is very much like a child in that respect. Once your Goldendoodle gets to the adolescent stage of his life, he will have endless energy to burn. During those years, typically from the age of six months to 18 months of age, your dog will need plenty of physical exercise every day. Both the Poodle and Golden retriever parent breeds are working dogs that are bred to have plenty of stamina so that they can work all day as bird dogs in the hunting field. So, it follows that the Goldendoodle will inherit all that energy. When you take on a Goldendoodle puppy, you can expect a bit of naughtiness, the zoomies , and plenty of overexcited barking! The best way to control your puppy is to make sure that he is well-socialized and properly trained from a very young age. Many vet clinics run puppy training and socialization classes. Goldendoodles love life and are generally happy-go-lucky characters. Goldendoodle puppies are extremely excitable by nature. Never hit your puppy, even if he chews your favorite shoes or trashes something in your home! Using physical punishment to chastise your puppy is never acceptable. Use Positive Reinforcement, Diversion, And Prevention The best approach to take when training your puppy is to use positive reinforcement. For example, if your puppy leaps up at you in his excitement at your return home from work, ignore him. Suppose you acknowledge the excitement by making a huge deal out of it. Your dog will need at least 60 minutes of exercise in the form of a walk or a trip to the dog park every day, as well as a play session or some training. In comparison, puppies tire easily, and a short walk and playtime with some toys will do the job. Mental Stimulation Goldendoodles are one of the most intelligent dog breeds you can find and they need plenty of mental stimulation to keep them happy and calm. A bored Goldendoodle can easily become destructive and might begin to exhibit bad behaviors, especially if left alone for long periods. Also, a bored Goldendoodle will become super-excited when anything interesting does finally happen. As well as plenty of exercise, you need to keep your dog entertained by giving him a selection of interactive toys and spending time training your pet. Useful Exercises To Help Calm Your Goldendoodle As well as taking your Goldendoodle for a walk or to the dog park at least once every day, there are a few helpful activities that you can enjoy at home with your dog. All these fun games can help to strengthen the bond between you and keep your lively pup calm. A lack of concentration and loss of focus are triggers for overexcitement in Goldendoodles of all ages. Scent Training Scent training or nose work is a very easy indoor activity that you can do with your Goldendoodle, which will tire him out both physically and mentally. Take a couple of empty cardboard boxes and put a treat inside one of them. Give your dog a treat and praise him. Now, allow your dog to sniff the boxes. Your Doodle should very quickly sniff out the treat! Reward your pet with lots of praise and extra treats. Make the game more difficult. Begin by hiding treats in different locations around your house, starting in just one room and gradually making the game more challenging by using multiple locations. Once the treats are safely hidden, you can send your dog on a snack hunt. The act of searching for the treats is both mentally and physically exhausting for your dog. So, a session of scent training every day or two is an excellent way of keeping your hyperactive pet calm. That generally happens when a dog is not sufficiently exercised or is stressed by a lack of company or mental stimulation. Sometimes, your dog might bark to let you know that he wants to go outside for a bathroom break, or you might have missed his dinner time! For example: Separation anxiety: If your dog is left home alone, he might become distressed and begin barking, simply to see if you will come back to him. Fear: Sometimes, a loud noise or a stranger approaching their owner can trigger a Goldendoodle to begin barking. Attention seeking: Doodles are very sociable animals that love to be the center of attention. Health Issues: If your dog is in pain, he might start barking or yapping in response to sharp pain, for example, if your pet has arthritic joints that hurt him when he gets up, he might bark. For example, it could be that your dog hates being left alone. Biting And Mouthing All puppies use their mouths to explore new things and express themselves. That can be a real pain, literally! Puppy teeth are needle-sharp and can inflict a very painful bite, especially on a small child. So, you need to nip the habit in the bud see what we did there! Also, biting and chewing can result in damage to your furnishings, clothing, and even to the very fabric of your home. As well as taking your Goldendoodle for a walk and doing some basic obedience training can help to calm your furry friend, you might also want to invest in a few dog toys to keep your pet entertained. One of the most popular toys that work extremely effectively with hyperactive Goldendoodles is the traditional Kong rubber dog toy. Basically, the Kong is a hollow, rubber chew toy that you can fill with treats and then freeze. Once the contents are frozen, you can give the Kong to your puppy or adult Doodle. Other plus points of a Kong toy include: Chewing on a Kong toy can prevent teething puppies from chewing and damaging items around your home. When a puppy is teething, its gums are often sore and inflamed. A frozen Kong can be very soothing for your puppy, cooling his mouth. Freezing treats inside the toy can save you quite a lot of cash, as the treats last much longer than they would if you simply gave them to your pet right out of the packet. Other fun toys for Goldendoodles can be made at home. For example, try upcycling some of your old T-shirts and turning them into tug-of-war toys. Keep Calm And Carry On! Try keeping calm. Praise your dog for remaining calm and chilled out and reward him with a treat or two. Image Source : kentfamilyfarms. In a situation that could become difficult, simply ask your dog to sit down and take a breath. Similarly, when visitors come to your home, make sure that your dog sits calmly to greet them rather than jumping up or charging around the room. Remember to use positive reinforcement when teaching your dog anything. Reward your pet with praise and treats when he does what you ask. Goldendoodles are relatively long-lived when compared with other dog breeds. Although it will most likely never be the case that your Goldendoodle will be completely calm, senior dogs are generally less likely to charge around uncontrollably than their younger counterparts. However, as a general rule, most Goldendoodle owners find that their dogs are quieter and less boisterous once they get to around two to three years old. That said, some owners report that their Doodles were simply completely crazy and never slowed down until their very senior years. In Conclusion Did you enjoy our guide to Goldendoodle energy levels? Just how popular? As Frenchies get more popular, so do their scammers However, as Frenchies soar in popularity, a darker trend emerges… The rising incidence of French Bulldog breeder scams. Everybody wants a Frenchie. A ton of people want to breed Frenchies. While you might save a few bucks on the puppy, it may lead to hefty vet bills down the line or, worse, heartache over a sickly pup. Sign 2: Lack of Health History Transparency A reputable breeder will always provide comprehensive health history for their dogs. Red flags to look for Unwillingness to share health records: Reputable breeders perform health tests and veterinary checks for their dogs and are happy to share these records. If a breeder is hesitant or refuses to show you these documents, be cautious. It might indicate the breeder is not honest or possibly trying to cover up health issues. A reputable breeder will educate potential buyers about these issues. If you encounter a breeder unwilling to share these details or offering suspiciously vague or inconsistent information, beware! Scammers, however, might show forged papers or offer none at all. Always verify these documents with the relevant dog breed registry to ensure their authenticity. Red flags to look for Absence of registration papers: If the breeder cannot produce any registration papers, it could be a sign they are not a reputable breeder or the dog is not a purebred French Bulldog. Forgery or alteration of documents: Some scammers might go as far as to forge registration documents. Look for signs of alteration or discrepancies in the documents. If in doubt, cross-verify with the issuing authority. Rushing the payment process: If the breeder is rushing you to make a deposit or pay in full without giving you enough time to consider, it might be a scam. Avoiding questions or concerns: A reputable breeder welcomes questions and understands that potential buyers may have concerns. Creating a sense of guilt: If the breeder attempts to guilt-trip you into buying a puppy by suggesting the puppy might end up in a shelter or in a bad situation without your help, be wary. A reputable breeder has a network of fellow breeders and previous customers that they can rely on if they genuinely need help with rehoming a dog. Rushing the sale due to personal issues: If the breeder pushes for a quick sale due to personal issues like financial troubles or health problems, proceed with caution. Although these can be legitimate reasons, they may also be fabricated to create a sense of urgency. Red flags to look for Delay in responses: While breeders may be busy, they should still prioritize communication with potential buyers. Avoiding direct answers: A reputable breeder should be able to answer your questions confidently and directly. Unwillingness to provide pictures or videos: A genuine breeder would be more than happy to share pictures or videos of the puppy, its siblings, and its parents. If a breeder refuses to provide these or only shares professional or suspiciously perfect photos, they might not be legitimate. Be wary of breeders who avoid answering your questions or are reluctant to provide detailed information about their dogs. A genuine breeder will always welcome your curiosity and inquiries. Sign 7: Absence of Verifiable References or Testimonials Check for testimonials or references from previous buyers. Reviews can easily be faked. You should try to get in contact with some of these people that have left the reviews if possible. Reluctance to connect you with previous customers: If a breeder refuses to connect you with previous buyers for feedback, it may be cause for concern. Genuine, verifiable feedback from satisfied customers is a solid indicator of a trustworthy breeder. Sign 8: Unusual Payment Methods and Requests Unconventional payment methods, like wire transfers or pre-paid debit cards, are a big red flag. Red flags to look for Requests for non-secure payment methods: If a breeder insists on payments through wire transfers, pre-paid debit cards, or gift cards, tread carefully. These methods are often untraceable and non-refundable. Be careful! Sign 9: Nonexistent or Suspicious Breeding Facility A quality breeding facility is vital for the health and well-being of the pups. Be cautious if you spot any of these red flags: Red flags to look for Refusal to show the breeding facility: A reputable breeder will be proud to show where their dogs are bred and raised. If a breeder refuses to show you the facility, it could be a scam. Poor conditions in the facility: If you do get a chance to visit or see images of the facility and the conditions seem poor or inadequate, this is a major concern. If a breeder refuses to show their facility, or if the place seems inadequate or suspicious, it might be best to steer clear. Look for a breeder with a facility that would make any puppy happy to be there. Sign Inconsistent or Incomplete Information about the Breed A genuine French Bulldog breeder will have an in-depth knowledge of the breed. If you spot gaps in their knowledge, this could be a sign of a scammer or an inexperienced breeder which is far from ideal. Your breeder should know a thing or two about Frenchies… Sign Refusal to Allow In-Person Visits or Video Calls Reputable breeders will typically allow in-person visits or video calls to meet the puppies and their parents. Scammers, however, may be reluctant or outright refuse. Seeing the puppy and its living conditions before purchasing is crucial. Sign No Screening of Potential Buyers Good breeders will want to ensure their puppies are going to a good home and will typically ask potential buyers several questions. No discussion about breed suitability: Reputable breeders will discuss whether a French Bulldog is a suitable breed for your lifestyle. Look out for this warning sign: Red flags to look for Always has puppies available: If a breeder always seems to have a new litter available or multiple litters at once, this could indicate a puppy mill, which is a type of inhumane, commercial dog breeding facility. Remember to always do thorough research and trust your instincts when choosing a breeder. Look out for these 13 signs of a Frenchie Breeder Scammer Unusually low prices Lack of health history transparency Unverified or non-existent registration papers Pressure to make hasty decisions Use of emotional manipulation or sob stories Poor communication Absence of verifiable references or testimonials Unusual payment methods A suspicious or nonexistent breeding facility Incomplete knowledge about the breed Refusal to allow in-person visits or video calls No screening of potential buyers Puppies available for immediate sale By being vigilant and conducting thorough research, you can significantly reduce your risk of falling prey to such scams. Stay informed, be cautious, and ensure your French Bulldog comes from a loving, responsible breeder who cares about their dogs as much as you will care for your new Frenchie. You can ask for contact information to personally speak with previous customers. Additionally, use online resources to look for reviews and comments about the breeder. Posts like this are the bait they use to lure in unsuspecting people who desperately want a Frenchie puppy to engage with them. This can be one way to protect yourself and sniff out a scammer. If they post a photo on the internet claiming they have a new French Bulldog puppy available do the reverse image search to see if that same photo shows up other places online. If that photo appears elsewhere chances are you are dealing with a scammer looking for his next puppy scam victim. The results of the reverse image search will let you know if this supposed French Bulldog breeder posted an original, a stock photo or photo they grabbed from someone else. Their plan usually involves having you join their group or messaging them so they can start influencing you and beginning the process of scamming you out of money. A legitimate French Bulldog breeder will usually have a website and a phone number where you can talk to them on the phone. Most scammers have many Fake profiles which they can quickly discard once they have ripped someone off. Fraudsters on the internet are eager to play on your feelings and swindle you out of a lot of money for pups who are unwell, abused, or perhaps non-existent. The crooks behind French Bulldog scams know how strong attachment you would have to buy a French Bulldog puppy and will prey on that. Similarly, they will promote free Frenchie pups to entice you. Even though the website seems to be trustworthy, proceed with caution. Plenty of the French Bulldog hoax sites I have seen use an actual postal address to seem legitimate. These identities are commonly those of totally innocent persons. If this happens run away and stop the conversation. The fact is that French Bulldogs are expensive. There is good reason for this. Scammers will pretend to organize distribution after you have transferred the amount. It is mainly accomplished by using a bogus shipping firm — usually using a different web scam disguised as a genuine courier service. Never try to purchase a Frenchie puppy available on the internet. Undertake the basic tests if you are concerned that the web page you visit is a fraud. Fraud French Bulldog Producers and Breeding Farms Although not a recent occurrence, Puppy farms are becoming more common, particularly for famous types that may be quite expensive. However, with French Bulldog puppies often selling for thousands of dollars, they are among their favorite varieties to utilize in their frauds. As a result, pups purchased from them are usually anti-social and fearful of humans. Several pups purchased from such producers struggle with ailments. Although they may seem fine when you initially acquire them, they may swiftly deteriorate and sometimes die when you get them if appropriate medical attention is not provided. The entire experience may be challenging and traumatizing for both the French Bulldog and you as the current owner. Therefore, if you want to bring a French Bulldog puppy into your home, how can you ensure that the producer you purchase from is respectable, licensed, and dependable? And how can you be certain that the dog you acquire is fit, socialized, and well-bred? In most cases, you can tell Bulldog puppies scam by the appearance of the advertisement and your first interaction with the vendor. They include; Tip 6: Forcing you To Commit Immediately Whenever it relates to temptation, scammers are geniuses and are knowledgeable on how to get you hooked. Some even ask for Pre-paid Gift cards. Never transfer money under duress. They will put you under pressure to make a deposit. They will often request that you send them the funds. Check if the amount is accompanied by a written agreement and inquire whether it is redeemable. If you find a French Bulldog sold for a ridiculously low cost, you should be wary. French bulldogs are a famous breed in the United States and Europe. The standard market forces paradigm is often used to determine puppy pricing. Therefore, would anyone offer one-third or less of the amount for a lovely dog? The response is no unless there is a swindle to be had. Then, when you contact them, you discover that the charged additional costs are high or that the rates increase as you contact them. They Will have that one-of-a-kind color or size Meanwhile, Blue, Sable, and Chocolate Brindle French Bulldogs are popular among fans, yet they are scarce. Several unscrupulous fraudsters will be aware of this as well. They enjoy the benefits of hard-to-find hues by stealing images from Google and passing them off as their own. You may always get recommendations from a competent breeder. Often these breeders are proud of their puppies and want their customers to applaud their efforts. Click on their Facebook page, click on their profiles and look for Red flags. It is fine to start with a messenger conversation but you should pick up the phone and talk to them. Have some questions ready to ask the breeder. Therefore, it is understandable to see where the French bulldogs were brought up and meet their parents, if not both. Examine the area where they are housed. Is it hygienic? Is it odorless? She must be clean, healthy, and happy. Take Your Puppy to a Vet for Examination Among the most tragic consequences of a Frenchie, puppy deception is when you hold the lovely fur-ball in your arms and are completely in love, only to discover that it is unwell or not the breed you imagined. Before seeing the youngster and its mother, make sure you are acquainted with the French Bulldog Breed requirements. Do not be scared to request documents for your dog and its parents. Similarly, do not transfer any funds until you have confirmed the authenticity of the documents. Organize a DNA test before taking the puppy home. I read Craigslist postings advising that a dog someone took home was infected with illnesses like parvo. These schemes are harmful to both the canines and the new owner. Ensure your French Bulldog is healthy before bringing it into your home. Fake Testimonials A review aims to provide social validation : you can receive information from other consumers about their experiences. Skilled French bulldog vendors are mostly in great demand , with large wait times that might make other solutions considerably more appealing if you are not willing to wait. However, there has been a regrettable increase in unethical breeding techniques and puppy farms, where famous dogs are bred in substandard and sometimes hazardous circumstances for huge profits, with no genuine care or importance attached to the dogs. When purchasing a puppy, it is critical that you see it engaging with its parents and that you are aware of its pedigree. In Summary Practically everybody shops online in the current digital age, even while looking for a new dog. Knowing what to ask makes it much simpler to locate a reputable breeder. Share on facebook. Nigerian Puppy Scams! The Council of Better Business Bureaus and American Kennel Club have issued a warning about fraudulent Web sites, MySpace postings and print ads asking people to help save puppies who are in desperate straits. The sites and ads usually show adorable bulldog puppies that have become stuck somehow in Nigeria or other countries and are offered free to new owners. People who responded to the ads eventually were asked to send hundreds of dollars to cover expenses such as shipping, customs, taxes and inoculations on an ever escalating scale. No matter how much was paid, no puppies arrived. Which leads to the only good news about the situation. Its all a fake. In the last couple of months local bureaus across the country increasingly have been getting complaints, Cox said. In April, a Manhattan woman was charged with grand larceny for collecting fees for English bulldog puppies online and then not delivering them. She allegedly told local investigators she shared the proceeds with a Nigerian accomplice. There are several variations on the scheme. She wrote to the e-mail address and received a long reply. The puppy was in excellent health, playful, wonderful with children and a registered purebred, she was told. But the woman who placed the ad recently had moved from the United States to Cameroon, adjacent to Nigeria, and the dog was suffering because of the climate. Daisy Okas, a spokeswoman for the American Kennel Club that registers purebred dogs, said the ad and e-mail raised several red flags. Maybe an older dog. But puppies are coveted. Another problem was shipping over a long distance. They were bred to be companions for the most part. The way this scam works is that once a fee is paid, another is quickly requested. And because the person vying for the dog already has money invested, often its paid. She got suspicious after asking for details about the puppys health. What was she doing breeding puppies if the climate was not good for this one? Elizabeth Burch of Marysville, Wash. She had been looking for an English bulldog puppy as a surprise gift for Fathers Day. After several e-mails, which included health certifications and copies of registration papers, she wired the money as instructed to Cameroon. But her mother was suspicious. Call the AKC right away. The seller sent her an angry e-mail, saying she had caused him great shame. Together they looked over online ads, finally narrowing their choices to three. McDonald, 41, e-mailed them. She and her son chose a puppy named Emma being offered for free. They were told that flight information would be forthcoming. McDonald had been told the puppy was coming from a breeder in Tennessee. There was no reply. She was dismayed and not just about being scammed. We were so sad. Beware ads like this Ads like this on Fort Worth Weeklys Web site and others, including MySpace, offered puppies for free or huge discounts from Nigeria. The result was money lost and hearts broken: Lovely puppy needs loving home Lovely English bulldog puppy needing a loving and caring home, full of wrinkles, she is vet and up to date on all her shots. Fine with kids and other pets, AKC and will come along with all her papers and toys, she will make the best house pet, will bring much love and joy to your home or family. Contact for more if you want to add her to your family. How to avoid French Bulldog Puppy Scams. There was a complete litter that we placed that each person told me their story of being scammed. As many of you are aware, scamming is abundant in the Frenchie world. Most of you only purchase a puppy a few times in your life, and they prey on people who are unsuspecting and who fall in love with a puppy. Never ever give a deposit for a puppy that cannot be reversed. A professional breeder will have taken the time to set up a secure way for you to pay. We use Stripe which is an online secure portal for credit card transactions. We do not receive your credit card information but use Stripe to process your payment. If the price seems too good to be true it probably is. I do my due diligence and let people know it is likely a scam. Unfortunately, I never know if most listen to me or not. Unprofessionalism abounds in the breeding world. Many people will just try it once, a few times, or even continue breeding without developing themselves professionally. I hear often that they saw the puppy, gave a deposit, and then were ghosted before the puppy was able to be picked up. My prediction is something happened to the puppy as there is a high mortality rate in Frenchie puppies compared to other breeds. The breeder likely decided to duck and hide instead of talking with the client. We also have a few litters each month as well so if something does happen we are usually able to provide you with another puppy. Remember puppies are not bicycles. They are biological systems that are not always predictable. Ask to meet the puppy live via FaceTime or Zoom. Scammers do steal pics and videos to make websites seem legitimate. You will even see our puppies pics on their websites. We recommend that you ask to meet the puppy live virtually via FaceTime or Zoom, so you will at least know that the puppy exists. Bringing in a Frenchie baby is an exciting time in your life. We just recommend you recognize the warning signs of scammers such as non-reversible payments, too good of a price, not being able to meet the puppy virtually, and even lack of professionalism in communication of breeders. Have questions about French Bulldogs? Please contact us. They were provided with many pictures so decided to go ahead with the purchase and made a payment for the puppy and for its delivery. They paid this amount but were then asked for payments to cover vet bills, which would also be refundable, which seemed strange. It was at this stage that they became suspicious. They then asked for a refund and were advised that a refund would be processed within days. This was 3 weeks ago. The websites now do not respond to the victim. The delivery company email was also a fake, using the name Aussie Jet Pet Animal Transport, which is not a real company. We have requested that the website be removed and the bank account has also been reported. The fake website features some of the common tell-tale signs that it is not a legitimate page: the pictures that the site is using are found on many other websites; the address is a residential address; they claim to have been in business since although domain age is 43 days; they included fake puppy transport information in an attempt to make it look like a legitimate company; they only accept bank transfer; and they have no registered ABN.
