Dog treats Dog crate Boxers are energetic and highly intelligent dogs. They strive for attention and love to please their owners. Although Boxers are quick learners, they tend to be stubborn when they do not want to do something. It is important to train Boxer puppies at an early age, as they can become hard to train and control. One of this first things you should do when you get your Boxer puppy home is to potty train it. Begin potty training when the Boxer puppies are at least 7 weeks old as they are now able to walk and learn. Make sure to start training as soon as possible. If you start potty training when the puppies are over 12 weeks of age, it will be more difficult for them to learn. They will have developed bad habits that will be hard to break. Choose a location in your yard where the Boxer puppy will go to the bathroom each time he goes outside. Always take the puppy to this one location when it is time to go potty. Do not confuse the puppy by taking him to a new location each time. Use the leash to lead the puppy to the location that you had chosen in Step 2. Stay in this area until the puppy has gone potty. Reward the puppy in this manner every time he has finished going to the bathroom. Create a consistent routine. Take the Boxer puppy outside to use the bathroom at the same times everyday. Putting the Boxer puppy on a regular feeding schedule will help you predict when the puppy needs to go potty. Repeat this process until the Boxer puppy is no longer going to the bathroom in the house. If you have a fenced-in yard, the puppy should be able to go to the bathroom on his own without a leash. This can take several weeks or more to accomplish. Tips It is important that you stay consistent with your training. Apply these steps in the exact same manner each time. Your puppy will learn much faster because puppies learn by repetition. If you do or say something different each time you take your puppy out to potty, you will confuse him. Watch for signs from your puppy that he needs to go to the bathroom. If your puppy is sniffing around, circling, whimpering or scratching at the door, he probably needs to go out. It is recommended that you purchase a dog crate if you cannot supervise your Boxer at all times. Make sure you purchase a large enough crate to accommodate your Boxer. You will need to crate train your puppy to ensure that he will not go to the bathroom throughout your home. This does nothing to help your puppy learn faster. Punishing will only make the puppy afraid of you. Instead, ignore your puppy when he has an accident and clean the mess up right away. Be patient and keep rewarding your Boxer puppy whenever he goes to the bathroom outside. Boxer Dog House Training Overview Housebreaking your Boxer does not need to be a struggle of wits or will power between you and your dog. How do you properly house train a Boxer? By following 2 main rules: 1. Use a method that prevents your Boxer from eliminating inside the home. Provide and offer an area to relieve themselves that is both easily accessible and available when they need it. Keeping these 2 training rules in mind, housebreaking your Boxer can be done without stress or frustration. Rule 1 The goal is for your Boxer to not eliminate inside the house but how do you accomplish this? It is really easier than you might think. There are 2 basic methods. Watch them like a hawk - If you are lucky enough to be able to stay home with your Boxer until he or she is house trained, you can use the Umbilical Cord Training Method. If you are away during the day, default to this method any time that you are home and it can be reasonably incorporated. You will simply put a leash on your Boxer and tether the other end to you. You may connect it to your belt loop or around your wrist. The important element is that your Boxer will never be more than 6 feet away from you. With this method, you will take your Boxer puppy outside every 2 hours for a 2 month old, every 3 hours for a 3 month old and so on. The less a pup is allowed an opportunity to have an "accident" inside, the more successful the house training will be done. And we must remember that essentially there are no accidents. When nature calls, a puppy will urinate or eliminate where they are at that moment. Bladder and bowel muscles are not at full strength and the Boxer has little control in regard to holding needs. Therefore, it is the owner's job to make sure that their Boxer is outside in the bathroom area, at the time that the body calls for it. The other method is confinement by crating and is not recommended. For times that you cannot be right with your Boxer puppy , it is best to have him in a gated off area. If the room that you choose has carpeting, it is recommended to obtain a piece of linoleum, that will not be installed, it will simply be placed down. It's a good idea to keep the gate open when you are home, allowing your Boxer to check things out and even play, should he choose. It will allow him to get used to the area for times when you are not home. Do keep in mind that without full control over holding his needs, he must still be taken out at the times mentioned above. When you are not home, pee pads or paper can be placed down; however do not expect your puppy to learn 2 methods of housebreaking. The beneficial element is that it will be confined to one space easy to clean up and as the Boxer grows, he will be able to hold his needs for longer periods of time, with the end result being able to hold on for the 8 hours or so that owners are away for work. Rule 2 You must clearly show your Boxer where you expect him to go to the bathroom. If there are any doubts in your dog's mind about where he is supposed to eliminate this will make for one confused dog. And, it will most likely lead to that dog just giving up and going inside the home. Choose a spot that works well in all weather. What looks like a great location on a warm spring day may not work so great when your older, trained Boxer has to hike thorough a foot of snow to reach it in the winter. The area should be roughly 8 feet in diameter and used for nothing else but bathroom needs. If you want to play with your Boxer or do some outdoor command training , do this after he goes to the bathroom and in a separate location at least 15 feet from the bathroom area. The location that you choose as the main spot for your Boxer to use as a bathroom is vital. A dog will become very confused if you show them a new area each time you bring them outside. Just having the yard or "somewhere outside" is not specific enough and will impede progress. The 1 complaint that owners have in regard to housebreaking their puppy is that he or she urinates or eliminates right after coming back into the house. While this may just be a matter of the dog's body not having the need while outside, most of the time it is because an owner did not give the dog an opportunity to do so. Puppies need to sniff around - stand in the center of the chosen area - and with your Boxer on a 6 foot lead, allow him to sniff away any where within that diameter. As they are sniffing, their body is readying to push out a bowel movement and an owner must allow for enough time to go by for this to happen. The mistake occurs when an owner heads back in with their Boxer, only minutes before the dog is ready and that is when the dog eliminates seemingly right after entering back inside. As digested food moved through the intestinal tract, the puppy clenched bowel muscles in anticipation of being taken out. A pup needs 15 to 20 minutes to find just the "perfect" spot and to relax enough to do the deed. How to Begin Using the above Umbilical Cord Training Method Each time your puppy makes a motion that implies that they are about to eliminate, you must bring your dog outside to a designated area. In some cases, you may need to pick up your puppy and run to that spot - expect to do this several times, as even finishing in the designated bathroom area is preferred to not at all. Still give praise even if he only finished up there. Don't scold for what's been done inside, as again, the dog went to the bathroom in the area he was in at the time. Taken outside enough will stop this from happening - and don't worry, as your Boxer matures, he will be able to hold on for about 1 hour extra, for each month that he ages. As soon as your Boxer is done with their business, give tons of praise. A puppy has no idea that he did something right, unless it is conveyed to him via words and at times, additionally a treat. You do not need to give your dog a treat each time they "perform" good; but you should shower your Boxer with pats and tons of happy and excited words. Act as if your dog just did the best possible action in the world! A dog aims to please their owner; if you make your Boxer feel as if he did something extraordinarily wonderful, he or she will be prone to do it again. This does not need to be done forever. Once a dog performs enough repetitions of a certain action, it becomes habit. However, an occasional "good dog! Block off certain rooms that are not in use and use a gate to keep your Boxer on the level of the home where you are. If "allowed" to have accidents, they will continue to believe that they can go urinate or eliminate inside of the home. Even if you yell "NO! Be sure that it is large enough for the pup to: play, sleep, eat and go to the bathroom. Crating does not work when a dog is left home alone. Canines do not care to go to the bathroom in a confined space, but if left with no other choice, they will.Bring your Boxer out about 20 minutes before you leave. Bring him out as soon as you arrive back home. Don't scold for any messes that occurred while you were gone, it makes no sense to reprimand a dog for a natural bodily function. Leaving Your Boxer Outside There are several reasons why a Boxer of any age should not be sent out into the yard without supervision. The Boxer is among the top dog breeds that are stolen. Where are they taken from? Their own yards. A fence may keep other dogs out, but it will not keep out a thief intent on jumping over the fence to take your helpless puppy. Until a Boxer is old enough to scare off a thief, do not leave your puppy outside. In addition, outside elements such as the hot sun can quickly overheat a dog causing heat exhaustion, which ultimately leads to death if treatment is not given in enough time. Your Boxer puppy should be taken out many times during the day, given that he or she sleeps through the night: When they first wake up After each meal times a day Before bedtime A general guideline in house training a dog is that a 2 month old Boxer puppy can hold its needs for 2 hours, a 3 month old for 3 hours and so on. The maximum time that any dog should ever be expected to hold their needs is 8 hours and this is for a full grown adult canine. Taking steps to help your Boxer sleep through the night can also help to some extent. Keeping in mind that meals must be spaced apart from exercise to help prevent bloat , a good bout of cardio about 2 hours before bed may help a pup sleep better through the night.

Purchasing a boxer puppy in North Carolina directly from a breeder can be expensive; however, it is also the best way to ensure that you are getting an animal that has been raised with proper care. Some breeders do not have the right facilities needed to raise healthy dogs and oftentimes these animals may be sickly or lack proper socialization skills due to improper care during development. What Are The Extra Costs? There are very few extra costs associated with owning a Boxer in North Carolina outside of routine vet visits, food, and other supplies that your new pet will need in order to live comfortably. A responsible breeder will typically keep all of their breeding dogs inside of their home and raise them with love and attention. They should also be able to tell you about their history; including any titles that either parent might have earned. A good breeder will give you health guarantees for your new pet as well as plenty of information on how to properly take care of your Boxer throughout its life. Responsible Boxer Breeders will typically not sell puppies to people who plan on leaving them outdoors or alone for long periods of time without supervision because it is important for them to receive plenty of attention while they are young in order for them to grow up healthy and happy. This will give you a chance to learn as much as possible about any sire and dam as well as the environment that they were raised in. Visiting your breeder will also give you a chance to see their home and how they keep their dogs. This will give you a better idea of what type of environment your puppy is coming from and if the breeder is someone that has invested time into raising healthy puppies. You should be able to tell if someone is being honest with you or not from how they answer your questions and whether or not they seem knowledgeable about the breed itself. A good breeder should be willing and able to help you decide what puppy would best suit your lifestyle and family needs, which can only be done if they know everything about you. Questions to Ask Ask for References from Your Boxer Breeder in North Carolina It is a good idea to always ask for references from your breeder or anyone who has purchased a puppy from them in the past. If they have any, you should be able to get in contact with at least one person who can tell you about how their experience was with the breeder and whether or not they were satisfied with the way that everything was handled. If you cannot find any references, then this is something that should raise a red flag and may cause you to reevaluate why there are no people willing and able to speak on their behalf. Not having references does not necessarily mean that someone is a bad breeder; however, it does mean that you should take the time to dig a little deeper. A responsible breeder will usually have plenty of satisfied buyers that are willing to share their information about the transaction with future potential owners because it helps ensure that the people they are selling their puppies to will be good homes. Meeting past customers will also give you an idea of how the breeder interacts with their buyers and if they are willing to allow them to ask questions before, during, and after the sale. A good breeder will not only have a veterinarian that they trust and depend on to take care of their dogs, but they will also be willing and able to share the information about them with you. It is extremely important to find out how often your breeder takes their dogs to see a vet because this can also give you an idea as to just how much attention they pay towards making sure that they stay healthy and happy. If someone cannot afford proper veterinary care then breeding these animals should be A Reputable North Carolina Boxer Breeder Will Ask About Your Living Situation Most breeders want to make sure that their puppies are going into a loving home where each one can thrive and receive all of the attention it deserves. You may find yourself at the receiving end of a lot of questions from your breeder which is perfectly normal. You can usually find this information on their website or by calling your local department of agriculture. Look out for red flags when dealing with an unethical breeder in North Carolina; these may include: Claiming that their lineage is rare or includes show-quality dogs without any proof. Lack of Health Certificates Provided. Constantly being asked to pay a higher price after you have already committed. This may also happen if your breeder tries to do business over the phone and refuses to provide any documentation at first. Refusing to provide their contact information, address, or name. Take the time necessary when looking at boxers in NC that will make sure that their lineage is healthy and well taken care of. If your breeder cannot provide you with any information pertaining to potential health problems then this is not someone you should do business with. How to Prepare Your Home for Your Boxer Puppy There are a number of things you will want to consider preparing for before your boxer is set to arrive. First, make sure you stock up on all of the necessary supplies like food and water bowls, toys, treats, bedding, etc. Remember; puppies tend to chew on everything so make sure you keep important documents like remote controls and cell phones out of reach or else they might end up getting destroyed. Puppies also love leather; if given the opportunity they will start chewing away at your furniture corners which will make for a mess to clean up. Potty Training Your New Boxer Puppy Training your boxer to go potty outside will get easier with time; this is one of the most important things you can do when raising your new pup. Remember, patience is key when training any dog; it can be frustrating at times, but you should never hit or otherwise punish your puppy for having an accident. This will only make them more afraid of you and afraid to go near their potty areas in the future. I love animals and love helping people adopt a pet. If they are a high generation, often breeders refer to their lines as multi-generational Australian Labradoodles. We suggest asking your breeder what generation the pups are. Some less reputable breeders may be referring to "multi" as merely more than 1! So do British and Australian Labradoodles appear or act differently to each other or other Labradoodles? The answer is yes, they do. It would be like comparing an Australian Shepherd Dog with a German Shepherd Dog - they are genetically different puppies! In our experience, there are many differences. We have two decades of experience in this area. Australian Labradoodle British or Early Generation Labradoodles British Labradoodles are two breed hybrids which are of low generation. Unfortunately, this means that there is low predictability in the puppies within the litter produced. On second or third generation, genetics becomes more complicated, not less since throw-backs start appearing. Especially true if breeders have been backcrossing to Labrador or Poodle. Commonly a second or third generation Labradoodle resembles a poorly bred Poodle or a Labrador, not a typical Labradoodle. Predictability becomes essential when considering an Australian Cobberdog or an Australian Labradoodle. With many generations of careful breeding, specific physical and temperament characteristics become consistent and predictable. Every puppy in an Australian Cobberdog litter should be recognised as such or at least to a layperson as an Australian Labradoodle, not a British Labradoodle. At the Australian Cobberdog stage, there should be less resemblance and throw-backs to the parent infusion breeds. But what difference does this make? What is the real difference? Do Australian Labradoodles look or behave differently to other Labradoodles? In short — yes they do. There are a multitude of differences in fact, and having bred both here at Lomond Hills in the past, we have a great deal of experience in this area. Early Generation Labradoodles Consistency Early Generation Labradoodles are, as the term implies, are of low generation. This means that there is very little consistency in the litters of puppies produced. If you cross a Labrador with a Poodle, the resulting puppies vary considerably in size, coat type and temperament. When you get to the second and third generations, things get even more complicated as the genetics play out and throw-backs start appearing. This means, for example, that a second or third generation Labradoodle could look like a poorly bred Labrador or a poorly bred Poodle rather than a Labradoodle. There is much, much more consistency in Australian Labradoodle litters. This is primarily because we are now so far down the generations, and as we breed further, physical characteristics and attributes become more predictable and consistent. Every puppy in an Australian Labradoodle litter will be recognisable as an Australian Labradoodle and throw-backs to parent breeds are very rare. The Coat Being only a few generations away from a Labrador, it is no surprise that the vast majority of Early Generation Labradoodles DO SHED their coats and are therefore NOT suitable for allergy sufferers, despite what you may have been led to believe from other sources! Australian Labradoodles on the other hand, are many more generations away from the shedding Labrador; their coats have been developed over the last 35 years such that they DO NOT SHED and therefore have a very high compatibility rate with allergy and asthma sufferers. Temperament Whilst there are some Early Generation Labradoodles with fantastic temperaments, they do tend toward the lively and potentially hyperactive side, particularly when compared to the calmer, better-balanced Australian Labradoodles. In fact, Australian Labradoodles are particularly intuitive, very intelligent, easily trained and are excellent with young children making them an ideal family member. However, they are still full of fun when playing outdoors and can be incredibly comical at times! We have now stopped breeding Early Generation Labradoodles and are focusing all of our efforts into preserving and developing the Australian Labradoodle here at Lomond Hills. If you are interested in bringing an Australian Labradoodle puppy into your life, please click here to see the litters we have just now, and coming up over the next few months. Australian Labradoodles are dogs that have a very interesting history. They were first bred in the s by a member of the Australian Guide Dog Association who set out to produce a hypo-allergenic guide dog, for a blind woman who was allergic to dogs. They can be considered to be six in one, as six different breeds were used to create what I believe is the ultimate dog. They are gentle, smart, loving, playful and obedient. An extra bonus is that they have an allergy friendly coat and do not shed! Tootsie is a cuddly and very loving dog who adores children. She is very intelligent and has proved easy to train. Her gentle temperament means her puppies will be perfect for first time dog owners! She is an exceptionally pretty dog with a gorgeous thick and curly coat. Tootsie comes from my breeder friend from Poland, a wonderful lover of dogs who is respected and well known all across Europe. The dad of both sets of puppies is Miles, our amazing stud who comes from Spain. He is a wonderfully calm and gentle boy! He loves to play with other dogs, whether they are smaller, bigger, older or younger! Miles adores his family and enjoys learning new tricks as he is extremely obedient. He is a very pretty boy with a luxurious, thick brown coat. The Pups are now ready to go home! Golden Cocker Retrievers borrow traits from both of their parents, normally with a medium length golden coat, floppy ears and a smaller stature than the Golden Retriever. Friendly, intelligent and energetic making a great family dog that will want to be involved in all your daily activities. They also go by the name Dakota Sport Retriever. Size: The Golden Cocker Retriever stands from 14 to 19 inches tall and can weigh anywhere between pounds, though the average weight is pounds. Coat: Considered a long haired breed but they do shed less than the average Golden Retriever. The most prominent colour is gold, but can come in all colours and patterns. Character: The Golden Cocker Retriever loves water and to play fetch. They are playful outdoors and calm while inside. This breed is very gentle and loving. Temperament: A soft-tempered breed, people-oriented and forms strong bonds with their owners. Care: Should be brushed on a weekly basis and bathed when needed. Their ears can be trimmed twice a year to avoid matting. Training: The Golden Cocker Retriever has a strong desire to please and is not difficult to train. Activity: Loves to play and should be exercised on a daily basis. Life Span Did You Know? This cross is meant to produce a smaller version of a Golden Retriever that retains the classic Golden look and their characteristic friendly and sweet temperament. Mini Golden Retrievers tend to maintain a temperament very similar to Golden Retrievers. They tend to have a sweet, open, and friendly nature. Mini Goldens get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. These dogs tend to make great family pets and can also be found working as service dogs or therapy dogs. Due to their smaller size, the Miniature Golden Retriever is a highly adaptable dog breed. As long as they get enough exercise, they are happy in apartments as well as larger homes with yards. They also do well in just about any climate. As with most dog breeds, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Because these dogs are so people-oriented, they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time as they would much rather be an active member of the family. For Mini Golden Retrievers, these could include elbow dysplasia, heart issues, eye disease, and hip dysplasia. Asking the breeder about the genetic history of the parents and checking out available health clearances or tests can help allay potential health concerns. All of the dog breeds in the cross for a Mini Golden Retriever are highly trainable. So, these dogs tend to be highly trainable, intelligent, and eager to please their owners. They tend to be a good fit for dog owners of all experience levels, including first-time dog owners. They respond best to positive training methods focused on praise, play, and reward. Although the aim is to have the Miniature Golden Retriever look just like a smaller version of a Golden Retriever, there will be variance in the coats because it is a mixed dog breed. You may have puppies that look identical to a Golden Retriever or you may have puppies with tightly curled or wavy coats from their Poodle or Spaniel parents. With the Poodle in the cross, there may be a chance of a low-shedding coat, but you will want to be prepared for a dog that will shed moderately year-round and that requires regular brushing and bathing with the occasional professional grooming session. Floppy ears tend to be more prone to ear infections, but regular checks and careful cleaning can help prevent them. Dental care for dogs is so important. But, it is often overlooked, which is why dental disease is one of the most common health issues in dogs. The Miniature Golden Retriever is likely to be a high energy dog that requires plenty of exercise to be happy and healthy. Daily walks, plus playtime and some extra activity should be sufficient for this dog. They will likely enjoy any activity that means they get to do things with you, which means they may enjoy hiking with you, taking trips to the dog park , swimming, or even training to compete in dog sports. A fully-grown Miniature Golden Retriever usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between pounds. A Mini Golden Retriever generally lives years. Dwarfism does occur in Golden Retrievers, which results in a smaller Golden Retriever and can also cause additional health concerns. Meeting the parent breeds in person and asking to see health tests can help you verify that you have a Mini Golden Retriever. Miniature Golden Retriever Puppies for Sale. Goldadors are very social, intelligent, easy to train and are an excellent family companion. Our Goldadors can be anywhere from lbs. Country Retrievers With the many requests for Country Retrievers also known as Comfort Retrievers or Golden Cockers , we spent time researching the cross over the past 2 years. This year, in , we are excited to introduce our first Country Retriever puppies! Country Retrievers are a smaller version of the Golden Retriever, with the combined friendliness, loyalty, and sweet temperaments of both breeds. Throw in a dash of the comical, playful spirit of the Cocker Spaniel, and the Comfort Retriever is lovingly referred to as the Forever Puppy. Golden Retriever The Golden Retriever is one of the most popular family pets. They are playful but gentle with children. They get along well with other pets, and are friendly to family and strangers alike. The intelligent Golden Retriever is very versatile. They excel in obedience training. Our Golden Retrievers can weigh between 55 — 75 pounds. Cocker Spaniel The Cocker Spaniel is a very gentle, easy-going, yet lively companion. Cocker Spaniels love their people families, love to snuggle, play together, and give a good laugh with their antics. They repay the loving they receive in multiples of loyalty and affection. Our Cocker Spaniels come in a variety of colours and can weigh from pounds. Genetics play an important role in the health and longevity of your puppy, but environmental factors play a greater role. Things like over and under stimulation, exercise, quality of food, home environment, etc… greatly affect the health and lifespan of your puppy. The quality of the nutrition your puppy receives directly affects his health, so we strongly recommend that your pup is fed top quality dog food. To protect each dog from negative breeding experiences and puppy mill conditions, the signing of a non-breeding contract is required. Our entire business is made to ensure that no dog is kept in unethical, inhumane conditions, and we are careful in screening potential puppy families to ensure each puppy goes to the best possible home. Follow Us. If you love the amazing personality of a Golden Retriever and the small size and loyalty of a Cocker Spaniel, you may love a Cocker Spaniel Golden Retriever mix. What do Golden Cocker Retrievers look like? These Golden Cocker Retrievers come in several sizes, colors and looks. They come in all the same coat colors as a normal Cocker Spaniel but commonly come in white, red, golden and tan. First generation cocker golden mix dogs have more floppy ears. When breeding a second and third generation, there is usually a higher percentage of Golden Retrievers in the mix. The golden retriever mixed with cocker spaniel puppies can often be referred to as "Miniature Golden Retrievers" or "Golden Minis". These puppies can look very much like a "Mini Golden Retriever" and have many of the same personality traits. When they are puppies you can see the Cocker Spaniel showing up in their eyes. They look almost angry, but it often fades with age. Here is a male Cocker Spaniel mix at 7 weeks old and again at 3 months old. The size depends on the parents of the puppies. In a first generation cocker spaniel golden retreiver mix you need to look at the size of the Golden Retriever used. The general rule of thumb is the puppies will be in between the sizes of both parents. However every now and again we see puppies that grow up to be bigger than both parents. To get a good idea of how much the puppies will weigh as a golden cocker retriever full grown we often use this weight chart predictor from thegoodypet. It has been the most accurate we have found to predict adult weight. Many people wonder if this mixed breed is a good family dog and easy to train. Yes, a Cocker Spaniel mix with Golden Retriever can make a great family pet. The Golden Cocker mix is a loyal and smart companion. They also are dogs that are easy to potty train. Cocker Spaniel Golden Retriever mix puppies tend to be food driven so we often train with kibble instead of treats. Issues with a Golden Cocker Retriever mix? The most common problem I see in the Cocker Spaniel Golden mix is some litters are more mouthy. They nip at anything moving which sometimes includes hands. Most are not, but it does happen every now and again. Remember that Cocker Spaniels were originally bred to be working dogs that kept livestock together by nipping at their heels. They also love to chase moving objects which is fantastic if you like playing fetch with your puppy but can scare children that don't know how to behave around a puppy. Two purebred parents will have more of a Cocker Spaniel look. Make sure to ask what they expect the full grown Golden Cocker Retriever to weigh. It will only be an estimate and there are no guarantees but it is good to get an idea. Also ask what kind of health testing was done on the parents of the litter. We normally have Cocker Golden Retriever mix puppies available or coming soon. Check out our puppies HERE or fill out the form below and we will get back to you. First Name.

While spearheading the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia breeding program, he conducted the crossbreeding of a standard poodle and Labrador retriever in view of it being a hypoallergenic guide dog for blind people. The first example of this type of dog, called Sultan, went to live with a lady in Hawaii, where other breeders saw him as an inspiration and this is how Australian Labradoodle puppies started. Both the International Australian Labradoodles Association and the Australian Labradoodles Association of America are working hard to incorporate more intergenerational breeding so these dog breeders can register this type of dog as a purebred dog. Its gentle, obedient and intelligent personality combined with a hypoallergenic coat make it ideal for family members with allergies, but it also makes an excellent service or therapy dog. Labradoodle Puppies Lifespan When properly taken care of, healthy dogs tend to live anywhere from 10 to 13 years. The lifespan of our Labradoodle puppies for sale is slightly above average at 12 to 14 years. Here are the life stages of multigenerational Australian Labradoodles: Puppyhood: First five months Adolescence: Between five months and two years Adulthood: Between two and three years Middle age: Between seven years and 10 years Senior: Over 10 years Labradoodles need the most attention and care in the first and last stages of their life. During puppyhood, their minds are highly impressionable, which is ideal for training. During their senior years, Labradoodles are more susceptible to health problems, which means owners need to keep a watchful eye. Labradoodle Size The size of labradoodle puppies for sale directly relates to the size of their parents and which generation of breed Labradoodle breeders chose. The larger the puppies, the larger the adult dog will be, and the faster their growth will be coming out of the puppy stage. A standard labradoodle puppy will weigh from pounds by the time it reaches two months of age. By a year old, it will have grown dramatically to up to 80 pounds, depending on the size of its parents. Medium Labradoodles occupy a spectrum of sizes between standard and mini Labradoodles, with the specifics depending heavily on the details of the breeding pair that birthed them and the breeding program they come from. Labradoodle Puppies Temperament While Labradoodle breeders originally bred the Australian Labradoodles as therapy dogs, their fun, friendly personalities made them popular pets. Now you can find these sociable dogs in homes across the globe. Here are some of the top personality traits of our Labradoodle puppies for sale. They tend to do best in active households where they can work off all that pent-up energy. You can fulfill their needs through the following activities: Walks or jogs: Labradoodles make great walking companions and can even keep up with you during a jog. Playing in the yard: Enjoy a game of fetch with your furry friend in the yard or just let it loose on its own. Dog sports: If you stay active through sports, consider making your labradoodle a part of your routine. Bring it on bike rides, go for a run together or kick a ball around in the yard. Obstacle courses: Set up an obstacle course for your dog using household items. Scavenger hunt: Creating a scavenger hunt for your canine is a great way to exercise its body and brain. In general, Labradoodles need anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes of exercise a day. You can also enroll them later at a Labradoodle puppy alumni school for proper training. Friendliness What makes Labradoodles the perfect puppy compare to other dog breeds is their ability to get along with just about anyone. They inherit this trait from their Labrador retriever parent, a breed also known for its outgoing nature. You can trust your labradoodle to form friendships with everyone, from children and older adults to strangers and other puppies. Thanks to their affectionate, sociable personalities, Labradoodles make great pets for first-time owners, families, or anyone looking for a companion. Intelligence Thanks to their poodle parent breeds, Labradoodles are incredibly intelligent dogs. Because Labradoodles are intelligent, they often crave mental stimulation. Labradoodle Puppies Grooming Our Labradoodle puppies for sale have a variety of coat textures that dog owners enjoy, but in general, their low shedding coat needs brushing at least twice a week. Not only does this keep them tangle-free but it also removes excess debris from their coat, keeping them fresh and hygienic. Regularly trim the hair around their eyes and in between their paws to prevent these problem areas from causing irritation. Pooches with fleece coats tend to have longer fur and benefit the most from going to a professional groomer — although every dog loves getting pampered once in a while. Contact us about availability! Training Levels and Pricing We offer three different levels of training; The Intermediate Level Training program is 5-weeks, at completion, the puppy will be 13 weeks old. At this age the puppies will have been introduced to crate training, and should have very few accidents in their kennel. They should be sleeping through the night hours. The puppies will also be properly socialized to many different sounds, people, places, etc. They will be introduced to all of the commands in the advanced training program however 13 weeks old is still very young and you should not expect a dog at this age to be very reliable in obeying commands; comprehension and proficiency can vary greatly. This level is more for people who are unable to pick their puppy up at the 8 week go home date or are looking for just a little more potty training and have the puppy introduced to the basics. The Advanced Level Training program is our most popular choice. Lasting weeks, at completion the dog is about 4 months old 18 weeks old. The dogs will continue to be socialized properly and learn the following commands: Learn to greet visitors politely at the door no rude jumping or overwhelming your guests. They learn "place" where they go and sit or lie on their bed or mat until told it is ok to get up. No begging is allowed. This is for their own safety, as well as making it more enjoyable to take them places. Travel well in a car. Come Down Stay Walking nicely on a leash. It is never a pleasure to walk a dog who wants to walk you! Our dogs are exposed to a variety of experiences such as swimming weather permitting city environments, country settings, a variety of animals upon request , store field trips, etc. The Premium Level Training program is weeks, at completion the dog is about 5 months old 23 weeks old. This includes all of the training of the intermediate and advanced level but we work heavily on getting the puppy to be more reliable with their basic obedience by adding more distance, distractions and duration too all of the commands. Our dogs practice these commands in various settings so you can rely on them listening to you wherever you are. With more maturity this puppy will be just that much closer towards being house broken. This is the ultimate level of training that we offer for our puppies other than service dog training. From time to time we have dogs ready to go and will price each dog according to its level of training and depending on the temperament and color. We regularly update our available trained dogs! So check back often and contact us for the most up to date availability. If interested in adopting a trained puppy, the next step is to fill out an application. This will help us when doing our match review. You can also reserve a puppy from an upcoming litter or our current litters where available. Once your pup reaches 8-weeks old, they will be enrolled in our training program. Check out our current litters here! He is adorable and perfectly behaved. Slept through the night right away and is doing well with potty training. He follows me everywhere and we love to play together or have lap and cuddle time. Thanks to you and all the team at Lewis Manor for giving us such a special boy. He is the love of our lives. Cathy Good Morning! I just wanted to let you know how well adjusted Murphy orange boy has become here. He is already well potty trained and coming and sitting! Very smart boy and cannot tell you how well matched he is for our family and lifestyle. He loves to play, explore and run but will snuggle whenever anyone wants him to. So glad we found Lewis Manor and will be sure to write a review soon. Murphy says Hi! Your take home meeting really helped us alot. A new breed for us, as you know and my daughter and I keep going back to things you shared last Friday. Extremely well presented helpful information. He is for sure growing and learning and living his best life everyday! Thank you to Lewis Manor for providing us with such a wonderful pup. We are so grateful for her everyday. We could not have asked for a better match. She has grown up to be quite the young lady. We passed the TDI therapy dog test back in November and we visit the hospital every Saturday where she is quite the hit. I literally am just her "driver". To be able to share her personality with the patients and see the smiles that she brings is truly amazing. We also passed the CGC test in February. She loves to train and she's so smart, I look forward to starting Rally with her next. Thank you again for bringing her into our lives. She is the Apple of our eye.Sleeping well from my husband gets her out then back up with me to her crate to sleep til ish. She is so smart and definitely a ball dog! She goes to the back door to tell us she has to go out for potty.Randy and I have been diligent about training potty outside. We love her dearly. Cooper was the perfect fit for my husband and I. We are active but live in a small apartment and his personality is the perfect blend of energy and calm. We enrolled him almost immediately in puppy classes and later advanced training classes. We worked hard together as a team to get our commands down and cooper was always a standout in his classes maybe were a little biased! We are thrilled and cannot thank you all enough for raising such wonderful puppies and matching us with our sweet boy. Thank you. I am amazed how he deals with all the novelties that he experiences. We travel to Brazil and he came with me in the cabin, he is already quite big but behaved like a gentleman, in the airport ,the plane with all the people… He is kind, patient, smart and super loving. Last weekend we traveled on a small plane to our ranch in the south of the country and again he was perfect! We love him. Thank you! Beatriz December Thank you Katherine! I hope you and your family enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday! Shirley is exactly as you described. Sweet, quiet, gentle, laid back and very affectionate. She barked twice when I left the room for a minute which startled me because she was so quiet up until that moment. Peter and I both laughed at our reaction to the sudden, cute barks out of such a quiet, well-behaved puppy! Her new name is Peanut. We decided she was definitely not a Reese, which seemed too harsh a sound for such a sweet little girl. We are both very much in love with her and are grateful to have her in our lives. My daughter, Kady Katharine is very excited to meet Peanut next weekend when she visits us from New Jersey. Training in earnest will begin this week after she has had the opportunity to feel comfortable with her new home. I think I did that to her almost immediately. That was a rude awakening. Thanks again! We are the lucky family who has had the the privilege of having Jethro, our pup from Cocoa and Hero's litter. Jethro is by far the best dog I have ever seen. He has a wonderful temperament. He is very engaged with the family but at the same time very laid back and chill He ended up a bit bigger than we expected 55 lbs but we all agree he has is the perfect size. The only problems we have is that he is so engaging with people that it takes us forever when we take him with us because people stop us constantly to pet him and interact with him. It really is funny. All of that said there is a person in our town who asked me for your information. She went on your website. She was asking me about jethro and his litter. I know that you kept a male and female from Jethro's litter. She was wondering if I knew which dogs were his siblings. I think Moose is his brother but I am not sure. If you wouldn't mind letting me know then I can pass on the information. We are so in love. He is the perfect fit for our family. He is well trained and so sweet. He has all of the best qualities we were looking for in a labradoodle. He is very mellow even for a puppy. Charlie has mastered sit, stay, giving paw, etc. When we come in from the rain, he knows to sit on the mat and lifts his paws for me so I can dry them. The kids even taught him how to high five! He is really gentle and great with the kids. Thank you for raising such a great boy and bringing him to us. You gave us the perfect labradoodle for our family. I also wanted to thank you for being so incredible. From the first phone call, to the weekly updates and videos, to answering all of our questions and delivering Charlie, you have been awesome. You have such a great family and we enjoyed getting to know you. Keep in touch! Phineas was from Saffron's August 21st litter and will be turning a year old soon! Time flies so fast! Phineas has been doing amazingly well and he loves everyone and everything he meets. Your description of him as a puppy was completely spot on. He is never scared, and always confident in new situations. I chose to have him neutered at a different vet practice than we usually use so that he would not have any memory of bad experiences at our vet. As a result, he loves going to the vet and has no bad associations. His service dog training is going great as well! He has learned to alert to random oncoming panic attacks as well as respond to these attacks when they happen. I could not be happier with him. He is truly a special dog. Here are some pictures! Lizzie July Hi everyone! I'm writing to update you on Dexter and to thank you so much for all the great work you did raising him for the first 8 weeks of his life! He was so well crate trained from night one, and he's doing great on his house training. He's making lots of friends at his puppy classes and the puppy park, and he's even part of a play group of labradoodles that he met at puppy kindergarten - he loves everyone he meets, dog or human, and they love him too! He's such a smart little guy, and we can't imagine our lives without him. We're so happy in our choice to go with Lewis Manor Labradoodles, and you were all so helpful and kind every step of the way. Thanks again for all of your help and time! He's a quick learner, sweet, active when we are and docile when the family is just relaxing. We have two little boys ages 3 and 2 and they couldn't have more fun altogether. He's gentle and playful with them. We are a dog family, and he's the best we've ever had. We'd always been lab owners, but a doodle is the best of both worlds. Love of water, temperament and the intelligence of a poodle! My father just came from Colorado, and is on the waiting list for the first available Lewis Manor Labradoodle! Hare Family June Hi everyone! We just wanted to give an update on Ruger. Coco Puff- Brown Boy He will be 6 months tomorrow. He is doing absolutely great! He follows me everywhere!!! They love each other so much. He loves getting on the trampoline with her! He knows sit, stay, down, roll over, spin, high 5, shake, go find and newest trick is to shut doors! His most favorite thing is bye byes, he loves going for car rides. We couldn't imagine our life without him, we are so much in love with him. Thank you for giving us the best dog ever!!!! We did a lot of research before selecting Lewis Manor because we were very concerned with getting a dog with calm temperament, as we have small grandchildren. Katherine was very responsive and couldn't have been more accommodating. We trusted her judgement in picking the right puppy for us, and to say we are pleased with the result is an understatement! We call our black doodle "Spooky" because you can't see her in the dark! She is gorgeous, friendly, smart, great with the kids, follows commands easily, affectionate, and is everything Lewis Manor said she would be. Her trainer, Erica did a fantastic job. Everyone who has met Spooky has fallen in love with her, and are amazed at how calm and compliant she is. We would highly recommend Lewis Manor Labradoodles to anyone looking for an outstanding family pet! I just wanted to touch base with you and tell you how much we love and adore Maui. He is an amazing puppy and so smart and lovable. We feel blessed to have him and thank you for breeding such amazing dogs!!!! Hope this finds you all well. What an incredible dog we have. Everyone who meets him says the same. My mom, a former non- dog lover, just can't get enough of him. He is so sweet , smart, healthy, well-behaved and lovable. Kudos to wonderful breeding! Hope things are well! My daughter and I love checking in on your site to see new litters! We see there is a litter due today and two next week! Good luck! Can't wait to see the pics! Bruin Family March Hi Katherine! It's been a while but I just wanted to check in and let you know our boy Storm Lilly's blue stripe born May 28th is doing great and is the most handsome, loveable, amazing, most well behaved pup in the world. We really can't believe it, he is soooo good and soooo smart and he does not leave my side! We are all very smitten and are so happy he is a part of our family. I've enclosed a couple of pictures because he is way too handsome not to show off! He's now 9 months and weighs about 30lbs! Thanks for the best dog we could have ever imagined! It's been about a month since we have brought Orso home, and we are absolutely in love with him. We couldn't be happier. You guys do an incredible job with your dogs and it shows!! Just wanted to drop in a quick hello and let you know how fantastic things have been. I've attached a 12 weeks "old" photo of our boy. Have a wonderful weekend and we will be in touch soon! Jax's first day at the beach. Loving life. He's a good one! He has seen a vet.Just wanted you to know that he is wonderful and happy and the best dog ever. Please hug Cleo and Boomer for me. At nearly 7 months he weighs .Thanks so much again for the most amazing dog and please hug Cleo for both of us! He is everything you described and absolutely perfect. He is thriving in the city. All the sights and sounds aren't phasing him one bit! Its like he lived here all his life. Everyone adores him and gives him a pat on the head as they pass by, and there isn't a person on this earth he doesn't like. Our other dog Trevor the Maltese immediately accepted Phineas and they play all day. We were so surprised at how well house trained AND crate trained Phineas was when he got here. He has had few accidents you can count on one hand.He is amazing in his crate, and is now sleeping through the night! We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful little pup. We have him getting his second round of shots in the next few weeks early November. I'm looking forward to training him as a service dog and know he will be a blessing in my life. Bill and I were prepared for nights of endless puppy whines and cries but she settled right in from the first night. She's a very sweet little girl. Thank you for all that you do for the puppies to get them ready for their new homes. I've attached a couple pictures of her. Culton Family October I don't know where to begin.Harley is JUST beautiful. Her pictures did not do her justice. The family is in love and Harley seems to be happy. I love him so much! He's the sweetest cutest craziest little furry thing and everyone who meets him falls in love! He's Amazing. Gannon Family September I hope this email finds you all well. We wanted to brag a little and let you know how well Ruari is doing. He just finished obedience school tonight and thought we'd share all the ribbons he has won over the past eight weeks. We couldn't be happier with the new addition to our family. He is such a nice dog and training very well. He loves to get up and play in the morning, and take naps on our floor during the afternoon. We bring lots of water for him to drink, and help keep him cool. He loves all our neighbors, and met our niece for the first time this week too, and was great around the baby the whole time. Anyways, we both wanted to let you know that we love Chewie very much, and to thank you for breeding such a wonderful dog! Today our little Rudder had his first birthday! We can't possibly tell you how he's changed our lives and made us more happy than we ever dreamed! Thank you again for such a well bred little wonder dog! Not a day goes by without someone asking who his breeder was! We are very very thankful to you both. She truly has exceeded my expectations for any puppy. She has gone into her crate on her own each night without a peep, 10pm-6am, and no accidents. We only have to give her a stern stare and she flops away from the door! She gets extremely excited when she meets a few excited children at once and will dribble. That has been it. I am floored at how bright she is, as was the vet at her check-up today. In fact, she grabbed her leash and signaled for the door to go potty. She has been doing this regularly and it has only been 3 days of torrential rain since we have gotten her! We are going to give her a door bell to ring. Her temperament with my three children is extraordinary! She has never made one peep when picked up by my six year old, wrapped in blankets, etc. It is clear you all did a great job with these pups, worked with them and set boundaries for them. We literally get questioned constantly where we got this dog, not only for her gorgeous looks and eyes, but for how well-behaved a puppy she is. Sienna is truly a special puppy and we are so grateful she is part of our family. I am so glad I found you and chose Lewis Manor. We have every intentions of continuing the training you started! She absorbs it so easily. Rachel A Facebook comment We just wanted to write and thank you for everything! Pavlov aka Lavender girl was so calm on the ride home Friday night, she slept nearly the entire way I say nearly, mostly because the customs officials at the border wanted to pet her! It was past her bedtime when we got home, but she settled in to her crate with a single yip and proceeded to promptly fall asleep. I was a bit concerned about how she would adjust to living in a condo downtown, in the Capitol, after her idyllic upbringing in your home. She didn't bat an eye at the concrete, and when we go for our mini walks, she sits whenever a person is approaching and waits for them to come say hello! Indeed, Lorne and I have become the most popular people in our our building as everyone who sees Pavlov has constructed elaborate excuses to come visit with her.We haved passed along your name to a number of inquiring individuals already! By the end of our last journey outside before bedtime on Saturday night, she got off the elevator and upon hearing: "go home", she made her way, unassisted, to the front door of our condo I won't tell you how long it took me to master the same trick.Indeed, her first weekend with us was far from ideal as it coincided with the Capital race weekend I understand that it is the largest race in North America, and coincidentally, the course ran along our side of the condo building , Pavlov seemed nonplussed by the noise from the masses of people with bullhorns, cheering, clapping, etc. .She is here with us today at Lorne's office aka my private practice and already has adoring fans, she was referred to by a patient as "the Mascot". We start puppy kindergarten tomorrow so that we can carry on with all of the training and socialization you started. All this to say, thank you for all of your hard work, dedication and patience; it certainly shows in Pavlov! I am experiencing the result of the socialization they did. My mom raised Labradors the top kennel in the country at the time Whygin Kennels. I have been researching Labradoodles for a long time. My daughter is allergic to dogs so the only dog I considered was a Labradoodle. There are many different ones so you have to be careful. Without telling you what you may already know, I will be happy to answer any questions you still have. Most importantly, talk with Katherine. She is a breeder with absolute integrity. I had to put it in to relax! He has learned the flags in 5 minutes! I have a big fenced yard but there are escape spots for a smart Labradoodle that the Frenchies never bothered with. I am continually amazed at how quickly he learns new things. .He truly is so balanced. When i look at him he always says the same thing to me, "Life is Good! We love him to pieces. He has had a few play dates and continues his school weekly. Long fun walks and his antler to chew on and being right with you and he's happy. You got him off to a fantastic start. .It will be so interesting to see what color he becomes. .Maui was given great reviews by our vet yesterday. She's been having lots o puppy fun.Her disposition is just what I wanted.Coordination and risk taking are fun to watch develop, very gentle mouth but lots o puppy chewing, pretty smart.Maui is so sweet! She's about knee high with a soft beautiful brown coat. I'll try to post some pics of her. Maui loves to play with other doodles more than anything. I'm almost ready for another puppy. She is now 17lbs and has most of her adult teeth. Sadie is very smart and eager to please. She has graduated puppy class at PetSmart and we plan to continue with her training. She loves Moxie and the two of them spend a lot of time playing together. I will keep you updated on facebook. Murphy really liked the treats. We are very happy with Murphy. He is a lovely pet - smart, social, playful, cuddly and stays close to home. I have attached a few photos so you can see his progression. He is now about 45 lbs. I believe we explained that we live on a lake and have acres of forested land across the road from our lake house. Murphy has really taken to the country life. He likes swimming, chasing squirrels, visiting the neighbours, boat rides and bonfire nights. Now that it is winter, we go snow shoeing every day for an hour or two and he runs around off leash. To get him used to other dogs we joined a training group this month and he we are doing great. I should mention that we had him fixed in October. So, we are very pleased with Murphy. We often have family and friends with us on weekends and holidays and everyone loves him. Our neighbours have adopted Murphy and will keep him anytime we are away travelling. He is a very lucky dog.Thank you again.Des and Natalie Bradley ".Tucker has taken a new job for himself. One morning when he and I went out to get the paper, he picked it up. Since then, he's insisted on carrying it. Yesterday it was the mail. He doesn't drop it, and relinquishes it intact when we ask. So now he's a busy boy, as he's also sentry for the squirrels.Truly, Athena has changed my life, and I love her so. Her temperament, intelligence, and sweetness is beyond measure. She is constantly stopped on the streets of Brooklyn and praised, and of course, I just have your email ready to give out!!! Again, thank you. She is such a sweetheart and so much fun to have around. Her antics keep us all amused. She is so easy- going and very smart. I have been so impressed at how easy her training has been. We can't thank you enough for such a wonderful puppy. The Caines Katherine, Boomer is fitting in well in our household. He has been nothing but sweet and fun to have here. Thank you for raising him for the first impressionable weeks so well. It surely shows how well adjusted he is at just 10 weeks old. Haley would like me to add, that he is the perfect pet for our family. She loves him very much. He's about 20lbs at this point. He's a very smart dog! He's learned a number of tricks! Sit, down, roll over, shake, high five, touch, spin, up, wait and working on pray. He sleeps in his crate nicely and does a nice job of letting us know when he needs to go out! He's great with other dogs. At his puppy obedience class he even helped an uncertain German Shepard puppy move out from under a chair and socialize with the group. He adores people, particularly children. He's wonderfully fluffy and soft. We really enjoy having him! I wish I didn't have to go back to work and could spend all my time with him! Many times we have adults that we are thinking of retiring, to increase your chance of adopting one of our dogs please complete our adult application online FIRST and then send an e-mail. Please be specific about your interest in an adult. Provide as much information as possible about your lifestyle and family. Please specify why you feel an adult is best for your family vs a puppy. When these dogs retire from our programs they stay with these families. It is very rare for a dog to be returned to be re -homed, I have personally had only 2 in 17 years. When our dogs that live with us retire from our program they will be fully tested and in an age range of years old. They are priced based on age, training and health testing. We would almost never have any dogs available that would be 6 mo -3 years of age. Watch our website we will post adults in advance of being available so that we can make the best possible match. With a reservation we will keep a puppy for additional training, and taylor the training to your specific situation. Additional fees will apply. We also offer older trained pet puppies!!! The hard part is already done for you! Here is a sneak peek! We occasionally have medium labradoodle puppies available. After health and proper structure, temperament of the dog is of the utmost importance. Our English labs have been carefully selected from all over the world for the best breeding stock for health, temperament and structure! All of our lab parents are either therapy or service dogs and have been fully health tested for hips, elbows eyes, and full genetic disease panels. Initially bred in the s in Australia to provide assistance and guide dogs for people with dog allergies, the Australian Labradoodle quickly became a beloved family pet that offers the best of both worlds: a wonderful family oriented people pleaser, highly intelligent, with low to no shedding and no doggie odor. They can be trained for guide dogs, service dogs, assistance dogs, therapy dogs, diabetic alert dogs, companions for kids with autism, hunting, swimming, running, fetch, flyball, obedience, rally obedience, or a 4-H project for your child. They love agility and excell in agility and obedience classes. There are a few things that you should know in case you want one. They need to be exercised daily. This includes mind exercises. They are good watch dogs but horrible guard dogs. They will alert you when someone is there. But since they are people dogs, they just want a new person to rub them. They love to eat and will master begging quickly. They tend to gain weight easily. Which is not a good thing for labs because of potential hip issues. Labradors love water! If you live near any water, then expect for them to be wet. We live near a nasty creek. One day, I had to give Cali 3 baths. Every time she went out, she jumped in the creek. Each time she stunk so bad. If you want to watch these awesome dogs, then we have several lab videos! His name is Lucky, which fits because he would have been put down on Friday if we had not rescued him. I just can't believe someone gave this dog up. He is a wonderful dog—he is loving, devoted and loves to sleep on the bed. She passed away and we miss her so much. She was the best dog ever. Choosing Goldendoodle Puppy Breeders In Michigan Before you start your search for a Goldendoodle puppy to welcome into your life, there are a few things to know about choosing a puppy breeder. Avoid Puppy Mills! Buyer Beware! A good friend of mine recently fell victim to a puppy mill that was advertising their pups on the internet. When she told me how much the breeder wanted for the puppies, I was surprised. The price seemed remarkably cheap for Goldendoodles! My puppy mill radar was immediately activated! The more I heard about this breeder, the more worried I became for my friend. So, I got busy on the net, looking for reviews and taking a closer look at their website. It turned out the seller was using puppy photos that appeared elsewhere on the web on multiple websites! Further digging revealed some dreadful reviews left by people who had visited the kennels and were horrified by the conditions they found there. So, my fingers are crossed for her and her gorgeous furbaby. Breeder Reputation A well-established breeder who has been operating for many years will have a good reputation. Did they have a good experience buying from them? To take your research a bit further, you can ask Goldendoodle organizations and clubs based in your area about their opinion of the breeder you are considering to purchase from. Many Goldendoodle clubs also have their own lists of responsible breeders so they can give you additional recommendations for good Goldendoodle breeders. You may also consider visiting some dog shows and events as they are a good opportunity to meet breeders in person and see their Goldendoodles. You can also ask other dog owners that are showing their Goldendoodles for breeder recommendations. Finally, ask potential breeders for references and consider contacting these people to ask about their experience with the breeder. Reputable breeders always prioritize the well-being of their dogs and strive for positive reviews. You should inquire about temperament and health of the Goldendoodle these people purchased. Ask to see documentation of these clearances before purchasing from a Goldendoodle breeder. All responsible breeders should be willing to provide any health documentation. They should also be happy to answer any questions you have about their breeding program. However, if you have the opportunity to check out the facilities you should do it. Check that the kennels are clean, that they dogs and puppies have access to fresh water and also that there is not a build up of feces or urine. Comfortable living conditions: The breeder should keep their Goldendoodles, Golden Retrievers and Poodles in comfortable living conditions. They should have large, comfortable kennels or dog beds and also have a decent amount of space to exercise and socialize with other dogs. Healthy breeding dogs and puppies: If you get the opportunity to meet the parents of the Goldendoodle litter you are interested in, make sure they are well-tempered and also healthy. Sometimes the mother will be quite protective of her puppies so she may show signs of aggression. If you are purchasing a puppy online and getting it delivered, ask if the breeder would be happy to video call you or send videos of their Goldendoodle puppies and breeding dogs to you. Ask About Socialization Goldendoodle breeders should begin the socialization process before their puppies are sold. The puppies should be exposed to a wide variety of sounds, experiences, people and places so they can adjust to their new homes and adult life. Nevertheless, they should start exposing them to sounds like household appliances, provide mental stimulation with toys and games and also encourage playtime and interactions with their littermates and family. The most common ones are: Lack of registration: If a Goldendoodle breeder cannot provide registration papers or other relevant documentation, it may be a sign that they are not operating a reputable breeding program. Overbreeding: Think twice about purchasing from a Goldendoodle breeder who always has puppies available or offers an excessive amount of dog breeds. This may suggest that the breeder is overly focused on profit instead of the health and wellbeing of their puppies. Lack of health checks: A reputable Goldendoodle breeder will conduct health clearances on their breeding dogs to ensure they are free of genetic health issues that could be passed on. If a breeder cannot provide documentation of these health checks, it may be a sign that they are not prioritizing health. Further Reading.

I have always been an animal lover and have raised many young animals from goats kids , foals, kittens, puppies, you name it we had it on the farm to take care of. To pinpoint exactly when I fell in love with the breed, I can't tell you. All I dreamed of having was my own German Shepherd Dog. In our psychology class we had to make our own vision board of what we wanted our future to look like. Well, my vision board had a beautiful dark black and tan German Shepherd dead center of this poster board. The rest of the board was filled with big trucks, horses, and big barns. Needless to say, shortly thereafter I did my research and made sure this breed would fit my lifestyle and after finding the right breeder, I bought my first GSD from a reputable breeder. Saba Lee traveled everywhere with me while I worked as a professional horse trainer showing all across the United States. She not only was my co-pilot, best friend, but she was also my protector. The unconditional love this dog gave me and some of my happiest memories I will never forget. My goal as a breeder is to provide that same experience, I had to my puppy buyers. I chose this breed not just based off of their physical appearance, but when I read the breed standard, it was exactly what I was looking for in a companion dog. Saba ignited a fire and from there I decided I wanted to start breeding German Shepherds, but I wanted to do it the right and ethical way. I essentially did an internship with another breeder and learned the do's and don'ts of dog breeding. I purchased my first breeding dog and her name was "Starburst". Star has left a legacy not only through her amazing puppies, but she was known as a perfect performer in the obedience ring. We had a total of eight titles before her official retirement. She went on to produce dogs who have won and titled in AKC conformation, obedience, service, and therapy dog work. She is my foundation dog and has stamped not only her beautiful looks, but has passed on her amazing temperament to her puppies. Star 3 years old.
