It comes in many styles, straight open fleece, wavy fleece, to spiral fleece. This coat is easy to maintain, but must be brushed in order to remain mat-free. There should be no body odor with this coat and very little to NO shedding. WOOL: These coats are denser to the feel more like a sheep's wool. The sprung wool coat is not preferred. To keep the wool coat long and flowing will require more maintenance. If this coat is kept short, it is very easy to maintain, but also requires regular grooming to avoids matting. There is no body odor with this coat. HAIR: Hair textures shed and are unwanted. There will be some shedding with this coat, although it could be minor shedding. They can come in varying shades and may fade as the dog gets older Black: Dark and rich, black, they maintain this color their entire life - black nose Blue: Blue dogs are born black but will have blue skin and undertones at a young age -black nose. Blue also belongs to the Rare Color Group. Silver: Born black but will have more of a gray skin and will develop individual silver fibers at a young age- black nose. Silver dogs can take up to 3 years to color out. Uneven layering of color in the silver is normal. Chocolate: Dark and rich, born almost Black, they maintain a dark chocolate their entire life - brown nose. Chocolate belongs to the Rare Color Group. Cafe': Born Milk Chocolate of varying shades, and have the same dilute gene as the silver dogs, often taking up to 3 years to fully color out to multi shades of chocolate, silvery chocolate and silver throughout - brown nose, they also develop stunning highlights. Parchment: Born Milk Chocolate, will pale to a smoky creamy beige. Paling usually starts from an early age often as early as 6 weeks - brown noses. Parchment belongs to the Rare Color Group. Labradoodles Litters For Sale. This is usually followed by muttering that the pedigree is unimportant anyway since the puppies are crossbred and cannot be registered with the Kennel Club anyway. Unfortunately, many puppy buyers are too trusting and believe what they are told, or simply are not aware of the ramifications of having a dog with unknown ancestry. If the puppies are truly Labradoodles, the breeder will be able to prove this by producing their pedigree. If they cannot produce their pedigree, then you must question if they are Labradoodles and why the pedigree is not available. Where do the pedigrees come from? When a Labrador is bred with a Poodle stud, a litter of first generation Labradoodles is born. The Labrador and Poodle are purebred, Kennel Club registered dogs with pedigrees. One of these Labradoodle puppies grows up and is later bred with another Labradoodle. The resulting puppies are second generation Labradoodles. There will be two generations of Labradoodles with Labradors and Poodles behind that in the generations further back. Our Australian Labradoodles have six different parent breeds, so their pedigrees are formed in exactly the same way, but with up to six different breeds in there over many, many generations. Why is the pedigree important? The pedigree is important because it shows the ancestry and serves as proof that the dog is or is not inbred. Without having a pedigree, you have no proof or evidence that the dog is not a result of breeding two closely-related dogs together. This is important because inbred dogs are more likely to genetically inherit health conditions. If you want to avoid these health conditions, you need to see the pedigree. Is health testing a substitute for a pedigree? In one short word — NO! Absolutely no amount of health testing is a substitute for a pedigree. The most effective way to reduce the risk of buying a puppy that will suffer from genetically inherited health conditions is to buy a puppy with a pedigree so that you can see for yourself that inbreeding has not taken place. The only concern that we have is that our dog came with Kennel Cough. An unnecessary expense that our breeder, Morgan, should have taken care of before we received our puppy. All the animals there seemed to be very happy, well cared for, and healthy. I reached out at the end of March asking for info about her new process and she was extremely responsive. I also told her I was looking for a certain head shape and she was super willing and responsive about the sires. I emailed twice and called twice over the span of 2 months with no response. I was not pushy or unkind, In fact I led each communication with grace acknowledging that she must be busy, and still no response. This made me think about why she might be concealing information about her female bulldogs. I began to feel very uncomfortable about this business and putting a deposit down on a breed that is known for genetic health issues without any information on one of the parents. Ming did have a lot of health problems her first year but I was prepared for this since everything I read on bulldogs said this was a high probability. In we were naive and wide-eyed optimists and all too desperate to find a bulldog to join our family. We didn't ask hard questions and we came to regret it. Looking back, there were so many things that should have raised red flags. She told us that she was a breeder, and yet when we arrived she shifted the story to say that she was in the process of setting up as a breeder, and converting her space. On the phone she never made it clear that the puppies she had were from out of state, we came to find out ours was from Missouri, bred by a woman whose name we found had multiple liens against her for bad business practices. Winston the bulldog is a constant joy, and I regret nothing even though he needed multiple surgeries in the months after we bought him because of a congenital hernia that every vet we saw said demonstrated that the breeder had been irresponsible. We got our first four years ago, and our second just last week. Although our newer addition was a little sick when she arrived, Morgan was very responsive and took care of everything. Years ago, when we were looking for our first bulldog, I unknowingly talked to a couple of sellers who turned out to be selling on behalf of what I assume were puppy mills. They were high pressure selling and not very knowledgeable about the puppies except for the basics. Thankfully we found Sugarplum Bulldogs! We even already used the same vet. So when we brought our puppy in for his first vet check-up, they immediately asked if he is a Sugarplum because they know her dogs! When we were ready to get a 2nd one, there was no question we would contact Morgan! I know it is scary to get a pet sight unseen, but I would encourage anyone to talk to Morgan. She knows so much about her dogs and the breed — she is so helpful! And if there are any issues, my experience has been that she is very honest and will make it right. Sugar Plum works with a puppy mill in Missouri where the animal welfare laws are not strict. The dogs are then transported to VA to a nice, clean farm. You don't see the dogs that are bread and what is going on behind the scenes. We bought a puppy that had a heart murmur. We brought the puppy back and were given another puppy. She had 4 surgeries to get her to be okay before her first birthday. Our sweet baby passed away two weeks ago at the young age of four. We kept in touch with the lady who adopted her brother. He died a few weeks ago from cancer. Our friends, who we mistakenly referred to Sugar Plum, have two dogs from there. One has had two CCL repairs and the other, also 4-years-old, was just diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Prognosis is not good. Bullies should not require surgery after surgery to make them okay and only live to be 4. Please, don't put yourself through the heartache we are going through. I made the mistake and purchased a puppy and he died 3 weeks after he was delivered to our home. His name was Bodhi and we loved him very much. .My family and I were devastated after loosing our puppy Bodhi. The night Bodhi died he was playing with his toys in the kitchen and during this time he was gasping for air. The doctors sedated him and put him on a ventilator. X ray showed no object blocking his air way. I am not a animal doctor but I believe my puppy was sickly from the day he was delivered to our home, not to mention Morgan owner of Sugerplum had my puppy delivered to us at 7 weeks old which is a direct violation of the breeding laws.
