The 'big yard' is mostly open and covered with thick grass and is securely fenced. This is the yard where the adult German Shepherds can run free in small groups for longer periods of time requiring less supervision. Big dogs must have a securely fenced yard big enough for them to be able to break into a run so they can frolic in their exercise times. It's good for humans too. Emily takes time daily with each dog to visit, sometimes on the favorite stump in the 'big yard' which is an acre and a half safe and secure play place. On the other hand, you should know this is a Texas breeder with a distribution point in Washington State. The dogs are shipped up and spend virtually no time in WA before pickup. We have several friends who also have dogs from them and were surprised to learn that their dogs were from Texas, not the Pacific Northwest. All of them thought they were buying from a local breeder. I have friends who have doodles from other breeders and there is night and day difference in personalities. We were told we would get a vet certificate when we got our puppy and have followed up via phone and email multiple times and still haven't got it. It's been well over a month. They are just avoiding us because they sent us home with a puppy who has had a horrible ear fungus. We have spent a ton of money and time trying to clear it up. At some stages of their lives, dogs eating feces is quite normal, and in fact, it may be necessary. Mother dogs lick their puppies to keep them clean, and they ingest the fecal matter in the process. Young dogs are born without bacteria in their intestinal tract, but they need bacteria to properly digest food. The quickest way to obtain it is by eating stool from animals that already have those bacteria in their system. And in reality, a mother dog teaches their puppies to eat stool when she cleans them, so it is not as innately gross to dogs as it is to us.
