When they saw Georgia, a senior that needed a home, they knew Priscilla would want them to honor her by adopting another senior bulldog. Georgia has moved out rescue and into a great home where she will want for nothing. Georgia is a 8 yr. After originally being found as a stray at a local shelter, Georgia has spent time with a local mutli-breed rescue. You get the size, strength, athleticism, and impressive stature with a hybrid dog. The Johnson adds bulk, and muscle; the Scott type adds leg, longer snout for improved breathing ability which in turn allows for better heat and exercise tolerance. Our very first AB, Diesel, is a Scott type. He was the reason we fell in love with this breed! They are the less bully type with longer noses and a less bulky stature but still packed with plenty of muscle. Diesel is no longer used in our breeding program but remains our steadfast guardian and loyal companion! We continue to see his offspring in litters produced from his working days. His legacy will live on as long as we are producing these amazing dogs! They are curious, playful, and unlike their other bulldog relatives, they have a strong affinity for water and swimming, and do quite well at it! Environmental conditions are something you always need to be aware of with your American Bulldog! Due to the short nose especially with the Johnson type , they are not able to move air as efficiently as their longer-nosed canine compadres. They do not have the ability to cool themselves well by panting, and overheating can be life threatening! When the weather is cool and pleasant, let them romp and run to their hearts content! The Scott type is less likely to have heat related complications, but we still advise you use caution all the same. The American Bulldogs jaws are impressively strong and can easily tear apart flimsy poorly constructed toys. We are fans of Nylabone, Jolly balls and Kong toys. Also, toys with a lot of stuffing other than ones made for heavy chewers will just become a mess of white fluff on your floor about 5 minutes after you give it to them. Not fun to pick up, I know from experience! Always stay away from anything raw hide! There are so many options out there that are safer and healthier, spend your money on those! Lastly, your American Bulldog puppy should have regular visits to your veterinarian throughout all life stages. We no longer have visiting days and because we have to always be very cautious about parvo accidentally being brought into our home, we must limit your visit to when you pick up your puppy to bring home at 8 weeks old. We have newborn puppies year round whom are very vulnerable to infection or disease; we do not want to take any chances with our puppies health by having the traffic of non-vital frequent visitors. We even have to be very cautious with our friends and family visiting. On the day of your visit please do not have any contact with other puppies or unvaccinated dogs before you visit our home. Please be aware that there are pet stores and websites advertising each breed of dog claiming to be a 'breeder directory' but they are actually puppymills. We state the ages of our breeding dogs, our breeding females have only 3 litters usually, occasionally 4 litters and are usually spayed prior to their 4 year birthday. We have guardian homes for most of our breeding dogs, because we refuse to kennel this precious and incredibly intuitive breed. We know that all animals have emotions, feelings and possess great memories. We provide an excellent quality of life for all of our dogs and are very proud to say so. Our decision to start our breeding program came very natural to me as I am proud to say that I am very maternal, nurturing, and compassionate. In we decided to harness our fascinations into action and began searching for our first breeding dogs, we chose the Australian Labradoodle because they are the perfect medium size dog that does not shed, and allergy-friendly, since my husband has asthma and mild allergies to pet dander. We also really loved the calm, loving temperament, and that was easy to train. In our search, we were blown away by all the positive things we heard about the Australian Labradoodle, a true service breed. Frankly it sounded too good to be true. We began absorbing everything we could about the history, health, temperament, breed standards, body conformation and anything else we could find out. Over the years of breeding we have honed in on creating a consistent temperament and certain qualities that are admired in the breed, such as coat quality, deep coloring, and blocky build. Our Australian Labradoodles are our greatest companions and we would not feel complete without them. We breed each litter with the purpose of improving this amazing breed and to carry on all the wonderful attributes that it is now so famous for. We began our breeding program while I was in college studying nursing. After graduating with my baccalaureate in nursing, I began working as a registered nurse in mainly in long-term care and administrative work, now I work from home as a Telephonic Nurse Case Manager and in a partnership my husband Nelson and I run the ins and outs of our dog breeding program. Living with a Saint Berxer Personality: Despite their size, the Saint Berxer is a sweet, gentle, playful, obedient and smart dog. Temperament: The Saint Berxer has an even temperament. Family Dog: The Saint Berxer makes a great family dog. They typically get along great with other dogs and children but should always be supervised around toddlers and young children. They can stay outside but prefer to be with family. They can be protective so it is best to socialize them when they are young with other people and dogs. Shedding: Some Saint Berxers shed only one to two times a year while other shed a lot all year long. Grooming: The Saint Berxer should be brushed once a week and can be bathed twice a year.
