Aug 18, Share Boxers were originally bred in Germany as guard dogs in the 18th century. This medium to large-sized dog was bred as a cross between the Bullenbeisser dog now extinct and the Bulldog. The Boxers we know and love today for their silliness and energy have emerged from a Molosser-type dog that was used in hunting. It is important to note that officially there is only one type of Boxer breed that has different bloodlines. Sometimes, these bloodlines are mixed, while other times they are absolutely pure. There are no variant types or official sub-categories in the official sense. However, there are plenty of morphological differences among Boxer breeds to consider. Below are the different types of Boxer dog breeds and their differences. The 3 Types of Boxer Dogs 1. The dog is preferred for its slightly larger frame as compared to the UK and American Boxer. The bones are dense and large, which helps give the musculature a slightly more pronounced definition. The width of the thigh in this breed is slightly wider as compared to others. A feature typical to German Boxers is the length between their skull and snout. The length is exactly in the ratio of in German Boxers with a pure bloodline. The snout, in comparison to other types, is smaller than the American Boxer and wider than the UK Boxer type. United Kingdom Boxer Dog A post shared by Boxergone boxergone Defining characteristic: Considered the most elegant among all Boxers, owing to its high knuckles atop small feet This breed is also called the English Boxer or British Boxer. The UK Boxer stands out for being more lithe, sleek, and athletic as compared to other Boxer breeds. It has a slender musculature and a stylized body that allows for further agility and precise movements. English Boxers have the highest knuckles of all other variants. They are also thought to be the smallest with thinner and shorter legs. However, this does not mean that they lack strength or speed. However, it was the first one to be given official recognition in by American Kennel Club. The breed is the easiest to recognize among all other variants, thanks to the lack of wrinkles in adult dogs. Their coat is also denser, brighter, and stronger than English and German Boxers. The American Boxer stands differently from the English Boxer. This is because of the shape of its ankles, paws, and knuckles. However, it is easy to confuse American Boxers with German Boxers since both of them have the same stance. You make it seem like puppy ownership is as simple and trouble-free as the world presented in cute puppy pictures. We can all agree that, at birth, all puppies are too adorable for words. We can also agree that raising puppies is a weighty responsibility, and never one to be undertaken lightly. Boxer puppies are not special in this regard. These caveats out of the way, it seems like no time at all between the stages of tiny, mewling infant and the first time you get the guilty look from Boxer puppies. Out of the whelping box, straight into mischief Boxer puppies start up with impish behavior from the moment they take their first tentative steps out of the whelping box. Training and socialization are key elements to a happy life with Boxer puppies. These little guys and gals, after all, become huge and physically imposing dogs. Keep an eye on this little fellow! Boxer puppies were made for the outdoors. Being outside, running about, playing with toys, and pawing at stuff — this is a top-flight day of action and adventure for Boxer puppies. When they want a snack before dinner, though, Boxer puppies will try and get sneaky. That we have such things as cute puppy pictures, of course, owes as much to human waggery as to anything Boxer puppies get into of their own accord. Boxer puppies are well known for toting things around in their mouths. No room in the house is safe from the shenanigans of Boxer puppies. Did you remember to close the bathroom door? Have fun re-rolling the toilet paper! Boxer puppies are eager, excitable, and enthusiastic friends to dog owners who are ready and willing to put in the work that training requires. Is it possible to sit Boxer puppies next to flowers and not have them inspire confidence, ease, and a sense of pervading calm? Sure, this brindle Boxer puppy seems contented, seated next to a little garden pinwheel, but be careful not to let her sit idle for too long. Boxer puppies need stimulation and interaction, so make sure she has toys to play with and things to occupy her mind! Boxer puppies love to play. Growing into solid, well-built dogs, they never really lose the joy and excitement that comes along with meeting new friends. Are your Boxer puppies naughty or nice? Every dog is different; each has her own personality and tendencies. Much depends on us, as dog owners, to train and socialize them in order to corral their wilder instincts. Do you have any experience with Boxer puppies? Share your experiences with Boxers at every stage of life in the comments! I think he's about 7 years old, but I'm not sure. Jordan is a very special dog. Like a lot of dogs, Jordan was rescued from a very bad situation. He was extremely emaciated, he had no hair, covered in parasites, and extremely afraid of everything. He could barely walk when I got him. I have owned him for about 7 months now, and he has all his hair back too much, actually , has gained a lot of weight, is MUCH happier, but most importantly he is no longer afraid of people. With spending a ton of time with his socialization , training , and guidance , he is now a well-balanced dog. I don't exactly know what happened to him before me, but it doesn't matter anymore, anyway. Jordan did have all sorts of bad behaviors at first due to his neglect which included: excessive barking, digging, pulling, jumping, etc. Typical "bad dog" behavior. But with all the walks and adventures we go on he is not only well-balanced, but truly happy. I am his "Guardian Angel. He gives hugs and kisses. He is my suction-cup when we are outside together; he has to be by me always. I love it! He is happiest when the whole family is out in the backyard playing together. He is very much a part of our family, even stays inside now, after some time housetraining. He was never aggressive toward anything or anyone. He loves his "girlfriend"! My other Boxer Baby Girl who also is a rescue. She was rescued at 2 years old and is now a whopping 8 years old. A few months after losing another rescue of mine I was really considering adopting another dog because I needed some form of protection living in a rough neighborhood. One day, while I was sitting in my living room my neighbor knocked on my door, "Hey, there's a Boxer outside running around crazy, and the owner doesn't want it. OK, I will take a look! I saw that happy face and that wiggly butt, I was in love! I said yes! Little did I know what I was getting myself into. This dog was an absolute nightmare, lol! At first she barged out of every door, broke every collar, leash, chain, tie-out cable we bought! She was horrified of so many things. She had separation anxiety really bad, so bad she made herself bleed to get out. After a very long and bumpy road we finally accomplished what I dreamed: "the perfect dog. She is so well-behaved and excellent mannered. She even stops on a dime if I tell her to. She is my everything! I have taught her a lot, but not as much as she has taught me. She taught me patience, understanding, love, devotion, and so much more. She has won the hearts of everyone she has met AND has even made a dog lover out of the people who were "scared" of dogs or "hated" dogs. I take her everywhere with me. She loves her bath time, especially playing "torro" with the towel during drying time! She hugs me, and she gives me the gentlest kisses. She has no aggression toward anything or anyone, she loves everything! This dog is my entire world. She always rests her head on my lap and gives me those soulful puppy dog eyes. Unlike any other dogs I've ever had she and I communicate mentally or something. She and I just know what each other want. Before I got her she had never been out other than a quick potty break on a 4-foot lead. She also had been through a lot of owners. She's great inside now, though! With all that work she's perfect inside! I can leave a whole plate of food on the floor for hours while I'm not in the room and she won't touch it. No accidents, never chewed on anything, very quiet. She's my angel. Her favorite activity would be eating. She's loves food. This is a dog who has taught me to be strong, all good things are worth fighting for, never give up, and you never get the dog you want, always the dog you need. I cannot say I follow his methods, because I have been training my dogs this same way before I ever heard of him. I also train therapy dogs, and guide dogs. Not certified, or anything. I rescue dogs and train them to help those who don't want to go through the certified Therapy Dog Associations for such reasons as waiting lists. I thank god for Cesar, though, because he is one of the few proving that Pit Bulls can be rehabilitated, and showing the world everything they need to know to save their dog's life. My love for Baby Girl made me fall in love with Boxers period, which led me into rescuing another Boxer, so I guess in a way she's saved two lives. Just like me. She's been through a lot, and has come very far. Most important thing she didn't give up on me, either. So, this photo is a dedication to Baby Girl so the entire world can hear Baby Girl's message of never giving up on your dog, because they will never give up on you. Thank you for the strength, you have given me Baby Girl, and I hope together we can save lives: the lives of dogs. She's a Boxer in every sense of the word. They are amazing breeders, and the puppies are so beautiful and healthy. Chubba Chubba Choo is almost a 1. Jason and Michelle run a successful business with healthy pups that are loved from day one. I highly recommend them!!! His puppies are gorgeous and I promise your heart will tug at you to bring more than one home. The mama dogs were so happy, sweet, pretty and just wanted your attention. The puppies were adorable, healthy and competing for you to play with them. Not one of those dogs ignored you and didn't want to be the center of attention. You could tell they all had great personalities and were very social. Puppychase is Bulldog Heaven! I was very satisfied with the purchase of our puppy. The environment is clean, cool and does not smell. That's hard to accomplish with so many dogs. The Bulldogs are well cared for and the property shows they are a top priority. I can't imagine not being pleased with any dog from Puppychase. The only regrets I have are not being able to take more puppies and I wish I could have seen the male Bulldog in person. I didn't even think to ask. Maybe next time! I have had 3 Bulldogs from PuppyChase. Chester 13 yrs old, Henry 8, and Gus 15 wks. Chester died 2 wks ago. Jason is so knowledgeable and loves his Bulldogs. The health and personalities of his dogs are perfect! The hardest part is picking which one. He uses a flight nanny to ensure the safety of these little guys which allows families from all over U. S A to have a dog from PuppyChase. What a beautiful home and kennel he has in Georgia. Thank you Jason and Michelle! Keep up the great work with breeding English Bulldogs and giving families and experience of a lifetime of owning and loving these beautiful dogs!!! I would highly recommend. Jason and Michelle are dedicated to ensuring their pups and litters are taken care of! Their pups have the best disposition!! Exceptional customer service and will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. New to the breed? Will definitely make our way back to PuppyChaseKennels. The Bulldog is also the mascot of Yale University and the U. Marines, no doubt for its tough and tenacious character. Although Bulldogs were originally bred as cattle herders and for a bloody sport called bullbaiting, they now make excellent family pets. Georgians love Bulldogs for their gentle and loving nature. This is a fairly low maintenance breed that loves a brief walk, followed by a snooze on the sofa. In particular, Bulldogs are a great first pet for novice pet parents in Georgia. In terms of lifestyle, Bulldogs adapt well to apartment living in Georgia although they do have a loud bark. They can tolerate being alone to some degree, so a Bulldog may be a good choice for individuals who live alone and go away to work for some hours every day. However, Bulldogs do not tolerate extreme cold or extreme hot weather. Bulldogs are an all-around friendly breed. They are affectionate with family members and do well with kids. You might find your Bulldog is overly friendly towards strangers. However, they can have some trouble adjusting to other dogs in the household. Bulldogs are moderate shedders and heavy droolers. This is a generally robust breed with overall good health and easy to groom. However, Bulldogs do have a high tendency to gain weight, so you have to be careful about giving treats and table scraps and controlling portion size at mealtimes. In terms of training your Bulldog in Georgia, this is not a breed known for its supreme intelligence. Apartment dwellers in Georgia should be aware that Bulldogs have a tendency to bark and howl, so early training is key. Overall, Bulldogs are a great choice for Georgia individuals and families. This is a playful breed with low to medium energy and moderate exercise needs. Bulldogs make great companion dogs in Georgia.
Andorra and Spain Hmmm, my concern is that if you're asking that question, then you're probably not in quite the right place for breeding just yet. It's not something that should ever be taken lightly and breeding for colour is never a good idea. To answer your specific question, it depends entirely on the genetics of the two dogs. Let's say you were breeding together two Labs. If you look at the chart on this page , you can see there are six possible combinations for mating a yellow Lab with a chocolate Lab. The shade of the coat doesn't have anything to do with which of the base colours will come out. You could end up with a litter that are all black, a litter that are all chocolate or some other combination that can include all three colours. It depends on the two dogs' genetics. When you're mixing two breeds together, it's a whole lot less predictable. In goldens, I assume you normally only have yellow genes, although the odd black allele will pop up from time to time, throwing a black GR. But how that would demonstrate when combined with the Labrador genes is beyond my knowledge. I would guess that, since the Lab bitch is chocolate and therefore not carrying any black genes, the pups would likely be a mix of yellow and chocolate, but that's only a hunch. This means doing a full panel of all the potential diseases that could affect either breed. Good luck with your decision. Finding black Lab Golden Retriever puppies for sale? The black Lab Golden Retriever mix is still a Goldador. But, by using a black Lab parent, many breeders aim to get puppies with a black coat. A black Lab Golden Retriever mix will have the same general traits as any other Goldador. They will be friendly, energetic, and playful. Black Lab Golden Retriever mix dogs are also great with kids and other animals. Especially when they are socialized and trained well from a young age. This dog is simply a puppy with one Golden Retriever parent and one black Labrador Retriever parent. Since the genes for a black dog coat are dominant, many breeders hope that they will get black Goldador puppies when they breed with a black Labrador parent. But, first generation mixes like this are quite unpredictable. A Goldador with a black Lab parent will usually have a black coat. But, in some instances, puppies may have lighter, or golden coats. Other than their coat color, their traits will vary as much as any other Goldador dog. It will depend which parent they take after the most. Generally, you will have a medium to large dog. Typically, a Goldador will grow between .They usually weigh between 55 and 80 pounds as adults. Females are often smaller than males. In terms of coat type, this mix will have a double layered coat that sheds all year round, and more heavily during shedding seasons. Their coat may be slightly longer if they take after their Golden Retriever parent, with some feathering around their legs and chest. However, a puppy must receive two recessive genes one from each parent to have a non-black coat color. So, it is much less likely that your puppies will have golden or chocolate coats if they have a black Lab parent. If your heart is set on a black Goldador puppy, let your breeder know. They may be able to give you first pick of the litter to ensure you get the shade you want. Both parents of this Goldador mix are known to be friendly, energetic, and loving. Especially toward their close families. Generally, when they are well socialized as puppies, they will get along very well with everyone they meet. This includes other pets and even young children. However, since they are quite large dogs, they can accidentally bump and hurt young kids during play. Socialization is Proven to Help Studies into dog behavior have shown that socialization from a young age helps to prevent behavioral issues in older dogs. This includes aggression and fearfulness. So, you should train and socialize your black Goldador mix well from a young age to get the best of their temperament. You should also meet the parent dogs to see what traits your puppy may inherit. If its parents are friendly and keen to meet you, your puppy will often be similar! Most families get on well with a black Lab Golden Retriever mix. They tend to love everyone they meet, especially when socialized and trained from a young age. These dogs need families that have plenty of time to dedicate, and who can take their dog with them everywhere. Plenty of Energy On top of this, a black Goldador is a very energetic dog, that comes from two hardworking, athletic parents. A black Lab Golden Retriever mix will usually be as healthy as its parents. Mixed breed puppies like this are vulnerable to the same health issues as their parent breeds. Common problems to look out for include: Cancer big issue for Golden Retrievers Hip dysplasia. Life Span Did You Know? Labrador Retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds. The Chocolate Labrador Retriever is not a distinct dog breed from other Labs, but it is a separate coat color variation that is specifically bred for. Similar to the other standard coat colors of Labrador Retrievers, Chocolate Labs are energetic dogs that get along well in a family setting. As a Retriever, they also make great hunting dogs and have also been known to fill other working dog roles including service dogs, guide dogs, search-and-rescue dogs, and more. They are even one of the common dog breeds employed in K-9 units. A point of interest is that all modern Chocolate Labrador Retrievers can be traced to three specific Black Labradors that lived during the s. Chocolate Labs are industrious little pups. They were bred for retrieval and will often sniff about for something to get into. They are also one of the most affectionate dog breeds and absolutely love being with their favorite humans. Properly socialized and well-trained, Labs are one of the kid-friendly dog breeds. They get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. They are famously even-tempered and playful. This makes them fantastic dogs for a growing family, as they tend to be gentle and patient with little ones. They can have a high prey drive. They usually do well with small pets within the family that they have been raised with or socialized around, but likely will still have the urge to chase other animals while out and about. They also tend to be open and friendly with strangers. After all, strangers are just more people to give them attention and play with them. Chocolate Labrador Retrievers may be high-energy dogs, but they are also highly adaptable. They will thrive in homes with fenced yards where they can run freely. They can adapt well to apartment living as well as long as they get plenty of daily exercise, attention, and mental stimulation. Their natural urge to dig and bark when they are bored or agitated can be quelled with a little training and exercise. Although they can handle some alone time, Labs love to be with their families and thrive on attention from them, so they do not like to spend long periods of time alone. Chocolate Labs also have a water-resistant double coat that makes them well-suited for most habitable climates. As with most dogs, they are sensitive to heat. Although they can handle some cold and will likely love to play in the snow, they are not a snow dog breed and may need to bundle up while out on walks in areas with harsher winters. Potential health concerns to be aware of in a Chocolate Labrador Retriever can include hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia , progressive retinal atrophy, cataracts, hereditary myopathy, and heart disease. There is also a condition with a genetic link called exercise-induced collapse EIC , which can occur in young adult Labradors. Carriers of this can be identified by DNA tests and it is advised that breeders test for this and avoid practices that would produce the disease. Good breeding practices make a big difference in the health of puppies and reputable breeders will screen their dogs to avoid passing preventable issues to puppies. Make sure you ask about the health and genetic history of both parents and about any health tests or clearances that have been done. As a large, deep-chested dog breed, Labrador Retrievers are at a higher risk for bloat. Bloat in dogs can be dangerous and can quickly become fatal if the stomach flips gastric torsion. Chocolate Labrador Retrievers are incredible companions and are also one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. Their energy can make them a handful at times, but their intelligence, adaptability, patience with people, and eagerness to please make them easy to train. Labs are one of the smartest dog breeds , so they pick up on things easily. As long as training is consistent and focused on positive reward and praise, a Chocolate Lab will do their best to respond as expected and will often exceed expectations. Chocolate Labs have a short, water-resistant coat that will shed year-round. Brushing a few times a week, daily brushing during seasonal shedding, and the occasional bath are all that are needed to keep a Lab coat healthy and looking great. They may need baths more often if they are avid swimmers, go on a lot of outdoor adventures, and get dirty a lot. Floppy ears tend to trap dirt, moisture, and debris. Proper dental care for dogs is imperative to help prevent painful dental diseases like gum disease or tooth decay later in life. You can also supplement your dental care efforts with vet-approved dental hygiene chews. Labrador Retrievers are one of the most active dog breeds and need a lot of daily activity to be happy and healthy. Daily walks plus playtime, time to run, and other activities are usually enough, but your Chocolate Labrador will likely be up for more activity if you are. One of the facts about Labrador Retrievers is that they have an extended puppyhood and tend to maintain that puppy-like energy and maturity until they are years old. Swimming can be a great lower-impact activity and Labrador Retrievers are one of the dog breeds that tend to love water. Between that, their water-resistant coat, and webbed toes, you may have trouble getting your Chocolate Lab out of the water. Fully-grown Chocolate Labrador Retrievers usually stand inches tall and weigh pounds. Chocolate Labs generally live for years on average. Fourteen years later, the American Kennel Club did the same in .Featured Chocolate Labrador Retriever Article. All our puppies have new homes! Be first in line for your new puppy! We were able to make trips to visit Boone while he grew, Wendy was always accommodating and super nice. During these visits we also became more acquainted with Boone's mom and grandmom, they are both loving and gentle souls. These are qualities we were looking for in our next dog as we have young grandchildren that will be a big part of Boone's life. We have had Boone for two weeks now. And he surprises us daily with how smart he is. We could not be happier with the start in life he had at Wendy's, his breeding, and HIM!! And I haven't even mentioned how absolutely beautiful Boone is! We collectively decided on getting a dog. We wanted a happy, smart, loyal breed that could fit in and grow with our kids. With those criteria we started looking for a Labrador Retriever. We soon drove to the farm to pick out our puppy. From that moment, until today, we have been so happy with our choice! Our silver lab, Rumble Rainier, has been value added to our home. He is perfect with our sons, he learned our routines quickly, and he keeps us smiling every day. Say Hi to Boomer. They were amazing to work with thru the whole process. We first picked him out in January and we got to visit every other week to watch him grow and get him familiar with us. He was the cutest little brown fur ball and it was fun to see him interact with all his siblings and his mom. He was also very loved and handled by their kids during the times we could not visit. He is a year old now and a very healthy and beautiful lab. He loves being outside, playing fetch, playing with his soccer ball, or being anywhere our 12 year old daughter is. He has been a great addition to our family! They really love their dogs and know how to breed healthy, well-adjusted dogs. Our Boomer loves all dogs, adults and children because of this. We are so thankful to Green Valley Pups and Paws for this whole experience! Amber McKinney.

The Trust are sometimes in need of short and long term foster homes. These dogs are looked after in a home rather than a kennel as it is less stressful for the dog. A foster home is used for a variety of reasons some are medical, others are just because the dog is old and infirm and a permanent home is not available. We are always looking for kind people who will care for these dogs whilst they undergo treatment, recuperate after surgery or just simply provide a warm and loving environment and company. Our foster homes are all fully vetted by one of us to ensure their suitability. We make sure that our foster homes have all they need to look after the dog including, bed, collar and lead, and food. We can also help with transport if the dog needs veterinary treatment. All medical fees whilst in foster are paid for by the Trust. In some cases dogs are sponsored by a specialist petfood company. We have a non-put down policy at the Trust and no dog is ever put to sleep unless it is a danger to the public or has become too ill and this is only done on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. Our foster homes are often families with older children who have time on their hands and enjoy the company of a dog without the responsibility of total ownership. We encourage all our foster carers to work with those dogs that need a little more training and there is always someone available for help and advice. I have met every age, type, colour, and sized Labrador imaginable, yet no two dogs have been the same — they have all had different backgrounds and had varying needs from one extreme to another. But all have shared one thing in common — they all came in to rescue through no fault of their own and they all deserved the best possible chance. By welcoming these dogs into your home and treating them as one of the family, it is impossible not to grow attached to them. I love each and every one of them as I would by own and I admit that many tears have been cried when it comes to them leaving my care. But when I see them greet their lovely new owners and then hear how they have settled and become part of their family, it then makes it all worthwhile. Caring for any dog has its frustrations at times, but by fostering help and advice is readily available. Labrador Lifeline Trust are committed to provide every dog in its care with everything it needs in order to ensure its comfort, health and happiness. Every effort is made to ensure each dog is matched well with their fosterer. There are so many great potential homes out there whom are unable to care for a Labrador permanently, whether it be due to work, holiday, family or financial commitments — which is why fostering is a perfect option for them. I work full time, but I am able to walk the dog before and after work and at weekends. You need to reside within one of our areas to become a foster home as obviously we need to be close by to assist where necessary. As a foster home, you will watch these stressed and fearful animals relax and become happy again. You will get to meet potential adopters and will have a say in who gets to adopt the dog that you saved. Many of our dogs need training and extra care while in foster homes. We often perform needed surgeries and our foster parents provide post-operative care. They also sometimes nurse neglected animals back to health. On the other end of the spectrum, some dogs are happy to be out of their current situation from day one. You will see the joy in their faces as they enter your home and realize that their ordeal is over and they are starting a new adventure! Each dog is different. Many are effortless and are an absolute joy to foster and some require more of your time and energy. We respect our foster family wishes and try to only give you a dog that you can handle. The rescue covers medical expenses of the dogs while in foster care. The foster parents are responsible for providing dog food, treats, and if possible transportation. While in foster care, the dogs remain the property of LRRoF. Many people are fearful that they will become attached to the dog and it will hurt when the dog is adopted. While this sometimes happens, for most people the knowledge that you gave the dog to a great home is enough to manage those emotions. The only way you will truly know your response is to try. Every dog you save will touch you in a different way. If you want to make a difference, and save dogs, then becoming a foster home is the best way to do it. If you want to adopt a Lab, please fill out the adoption application instead of the fostering application. What we need most in a foster home is someone who is truly dedicated to helping us save the lives of many Labrador Retrievers.
Let me introduce ourselves to you. There is much stimulation for our dogs, as there are always deer, rabbits, and geese stopping by daily to visit. We feel fortunate to be able to share our home with these incredible furry family members. Our primary occupation is that of running our family friendly veterinary clinic, The Pet Pro , in Champaign, Illinois. Gina Lykins , a registered nurse by profession, joined The Pet Pro in .We see many breeds of dogs at our busy clinics. And, while many are good breeds, we fell in love with the golden retriever years ago. We even have a Golden as part of our veterinary clinic logo. Sage was from a backyard breeder, while Tasha was from a Golden Rescue group. While they were as sweet as can be, both also developed numerous chronic medical problems during the course of their lives. Had Todd not been a veterinarian, the medical care would have been cost prohibitive. We found that his overall demeanor was mellower than that of the American Golden. In doing research, the most notable difference between the two American versus English was the cancer rate. This convinced us that this beautiful dog was perfect to promote as our recommended family dog. Over the past 18 years of our breeding program, Gina has used her experience as a genetic nurse to find dogs with bloodlines different from one another. This involved searching Europe and has resulted in importing puppies or adult dogs from different countries to become members of our family. We feel very fortunate to be able to share our lives with them. Our goal is to genetically design the most beautiful, healthy, family friendly dog possible, who is raised in a loving home environment. Puppies raised in a kennel situation, in a basement, a garage or solely outdoors does not prepare them for integration in to the family setting. It is important that they experience the sounds of a home, have frequent human contact and even car rides before they come to you. And, while we do believe in crate training for the puppy once they become your new furry family member, you will not find any crates in our home. The first 8 weeks of life are different than those of the rest of a dogs life. Here, it is important that the puppies have interaction with their mother and with their litter mates. After spending eight weeks with the puppies, we sure do miss them when they leave…But the following photo best depicts why we do what we do. We are fortunate to be able to witness that instant bond that somehow magically occurs when one first lays eyes on their new puppy. This pics says it so very well. Thanks Sarah for sharing it with us! I have owned and loved goldens for 18 years. In addition, I also own and operate a dog grooming, training, and pet sitting and walking business, Endless PAWSibilities. I currently own 3 quarter horses, a couple of barn cats, a few ducks and chickens, 1 australian shepherd, and of course a few golden retrievers. At TimberRidge Goldens, my goal is to achieve the best in health, structure and temperament and to produce well rounded puppies who will be successful in any venue you choose. But most of all, I want my puppies to go to loving homes where they will be a cherished and loved family member and pet. All of the dogs in our breeding program have complete health clearances. This includes but is not limited to OFA hips and elbows, heart clearances and annual eye clearances. In addition, we also do genetic testing to see if our dogs are carriers of any genetic issues common in the golden retriever breed. We breed for health, structure, temperament and betterment of the breed. We adhere to the GRCA breeder code of ethics. All TimberRidge puppies are socialized and raised in our home. They receive all necessary veterinary care, deworming and immunizations prior to going home with their new families. We also warranty our puppies against genetic defects. Puppies will go to their new homes with a lot of information to assist you and I am always available to help answer any questions. If for any reason owners can not keep their dog at ANY point in its lifetime, I require that it be returned to me.
When you mix a husky with a bulldog, you get a mixed breed called a Buskdoggy. What are these dogs like? Are they a good fit for your family? Are they prone to health problems? How much do they cost? What is a bulldog husky mix? Bulldog husky mixes or Buskdoggy are wonderful family dogs and great with kids. They are a patient, loving dog that is inherited from its line of loyal dog breeds. This mix can be stubborn. One word of caution though, the bulldog husky mix is prone to health issues. The tough part about trying to explain the nature of a mixed dog breed is most mixed dog breeds come from two completely different breeds. This means your bulldog husky mix might have more husky or bulldog in them. This guide describes the most common personality traits in a bulldog husky mix. They are excellent guard dogs, but their overprotective nature can lead to reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs. Since Buskdoggies are mixed with huskies, they sometimes have a tendency to howl. Both breeds are pack animals. If you travel a lot or go on a lot of long vacations, you might want to rethink adopting a Buskdoggy. Uncovering the Facts Many husky bulldog mixes end up inheriting a long, thick, fly-away coat from the husky side. Knowing how to properly groom your Buskydoggy will help keep your house tidy as they shed. If your husky bulldog mix ends up inheriting a short, flat coat, then you get the bonus of a cute dog with less shedding! While a husky bulldog mix is widely praised and sought after, if you are a beginner dog owner, you might find your hands full with this breed. Buskydoggies are known for being gentle, loyal, loving, playful, and good with children. However, they can be pretty destructive if left to their own devices. Bulldogs and huskies are extremely different when it comes to their exercise needs. Huskies are one of the most active breeds and need consistent, high-impact exercise. Huskies have a lot of energy because they were initially bred for pulling sleds and working long days. Bulldogs, on the other hand, despite being originally bred to bait bulls, are some of the laziest dogs in the canine world. If your husky bulldog mix has more husky in them, then your Buskydoggy needs your commitment to a regular exercise schedule. The rule of thumb is to go on two walks a day and schedule some playtime either at home or at the park. Both breeds also have a habit of overheating. If you get a husky bulldog mix breed, then make sure to watch them in the hot sun and at mealtimes. Speaking of bad habits, huskies are also known for being little escape artists that can leap over a fence in a single bound or dig a hole underneath when that proves futile. If your heart is set on owning a husky bulldog mix, then just make sure your backyard is a fortress against an intelligent Buskdoggy. In fact, bulldogs are among the most expensive dogs to adopt, buy, and own. If you do decide to adopt or rescue a dog instead of buying a puppy , then the cost is going to be a lot cheaper. After you buy your husky bulldog mix puppy, there will be other associated costs that can be expected. A generalized list of some expenses to expect are as follows: Bulldog Service and Supplies. It requires some prior experience and interaction to handle its temperament better, including the drive to hunt for prey. Well known for its gentle nature, the Siberian Husky makes a great loyal companion. It does well in cooler areas due to its double coat and requires large living spaces to exercise frequently to use up its high energy. The Husky Bulldog Mix might end up inheriting more Husky than Bulldog or vice versa; either way, you end up with a loving, friendly dog. Due to their obedience and alert nature, they make excellent guard dogs with the proper training. They were bred as sled dogs due to their high endurance and powerful traits, which made them ideal for pulling sleds through snow and ice. In Alaskans brought the Siberian Husky to the United States to participate in sled races, where it became an undefeated winner. This breed gained widespread popularity in when it transported antitoxins to Nome during the diphtheria epidemic. They are friendly, loving dogs that have gained popularity as excellent family dogs registered and recognized by the AKC in .They helped around the farms by protecting property, handling cattle, and hunting. This bloody sport, where an angry bull is pitted against another animal, like a dog, was considered entertainment. In English Bulldog cross breeds were created to maintain the breed resulting in the American Bulldog. Even though they were originally meant for hunting and working, they make family-friendly companions for most dog lovers. Husky Bulldog Mix Physical Characteristics Like all hybrids, the Husky Bulldog has a standard appearance for all dogs of this particular breed. The difference in appearance is something you should expect even from the same litter of puppies. Size and Weight Husky Bulldogs are medium to large-sized dogs measuring 14 to 18 inches to the shoulder and weighing 45 to 55 pounds. Coat Type and Color Variations From their parents, the Bulldog gets a coat that might be thicker or lighter in a single or double coat. The coat color can mix copper red and white and gray and white, but black and pure white are the most common color variations. Check out the following video to get a better sense of what a Husky Bulldog mix looks like: Husky Bulldog Mix Temperament The Husky Bulldog is a good-natured free-spirited dog, making it one of the most beloved dogs. Additionally, it has a gentle, friendly, affectionate nature, a trait of the Siberian Husky. If a guard dog is what you are looking for, the Bulldog is a great option as it is an alert, instinctively protective dog. It might be tricky since it makes the dog overprotective if it senses or suspects a family member is in danger. This territorial nature is a trait passed on by the American Bulldog, including courage also partly contributed by the Husky , making the offspring a brave dog. The bravery can become a problem if the dog is not socialized, as it will get into fights with other dogs. Since both parents are stubborn, this is a trait they generously pass on to the hybrid. But this should be fine because, with proper training, the Bulldog should develop desirable characteristics making it a good pet and valuable companion. The designer breed gets along well with children and other dogs and enjoys their company, making it an ideal family pet. However, due to the inclination to hunt for prey, it might get along poorly with smaller pets like cats. Care and Maintenance The level of care is determined by the type of coat the Husky Bulldog inherits; it can range from low to high maintenance. Combing the coat is recommended, as well as dental care you should brush the dogs once every day , and bathing the dog is advised to keep infections and a foul smell away. After every three weeks, you should have the nails trimmed, the eyes and ears appropriately cleaned, and routine dental treatments. Grooming and Shedding Because of the flyaway coat that the Husky Bulldog might inherit from the Husky parent, you will need to figure out how to groom and take care of the excess hair it sheds massively. If the dog inherits more of its coat from its other parent, you will not need to worry about excessive shedding. Exercise Requirements Image Credit: Instagram Exercise is necessary for the Husky Bulldog as it helps train and get the dog on a potty schedule. Forty minutes of exercise or two walks daily should be sufficient. Husky Bulldogs are prone to overheating, especially during summer; when you notice it, you can cool down the dog by hosing it down with cool water. Applying ice packs or towels dipped in cool water not iced also helps. Due to their need for regular exercise, Husky Bulldogs are ideally suited for homes with a yard. While taking the dog outside for exercise when living in an apartment may seem sufficient, they will do better, be happier, and be healthier in areas with plenty of space. However, they have a stubborn streak you can overcome with patience and early training. As with all dogs, positive reinforcement and a reward system are recommended to get desirable results. Since Bulldogs are intelligent, they will listen and be cooperative during training, granted the proper training techniques are used. Socializing the Bulldog prevents it from being overly aggressive and territorial with other dogs. Potty training your bulldog can be a successful process if done patiently, consistently, and with positive reinforcement. Obedience Training Obedience training is crucial for a Husky Bulldog due to its independent and determined nature. It also helps with the aspect of house training. But this should not be a concern as you can tackle it early with the proper training and socialization. Instead of barking, the Husky Bulldog howls a lot when left alone. It can be due to separation anxiety which you can solve using the crate training method. Because of their protective nature, they tend to be aggressive. Socializing and slowly introducing your Bulldog to other canines and strangers helps work on their aggressiveness. Advanced Training In addition to other basic training sessions , you can incorporate other forms of training to help the dog adapt and live well in society. You can include sessions covering leash walking, crate, and agility training. Feeding and Nutrition Image Credit: Instagram Before settling on a diet plan for your Husky Bulldog, you must factor in its age and activity level. Husky Bulldog Mix Health Problems and Care When getting a hybrid dog, you want to go for the one with an excellent healthy prognosis, achieved by reaching a dog bred from healthy pedigree parents. Because of their short nasal passages, Bulldogs are prone to respiratory problems. Another health issue they are likely to suffer from is cataracts, which can lead to blindness if not treated by surgery. Vaccinations and Preventive Care If you want your Husky Bulldog to stay healthy and happy, regular vet visits are recommended to catch the health issues on time and have them treated. The Husky Bulldog has a lifespan of about six years, which is short compared to other dogs. Husky Bulldog Breeders and Adoption You will want to get a Husky Bulldog from a reputable breeder, not any puppy mill with unethical practices or unverified pet stores. It will help you avoid too many health problems and veterinarian costs in the future. How to Choose a Reputable Breeder Finding and choosing a breeder who specifically breeds Husky Bulldogs might prove challenging. But with an increase in interest and popularity of designer dogs, you are likely to come across this hybrid dog. However, it might be harder to get this mixed breed since it is not the first option from the Husky mix or Bulldog mix breed. The local vet or animal control officers would be an excellent place to get information on good breeders. Look at getting a pet with fewer health issues. The price of rehoming a Bulldog from a shelter or rescue center is usually a fraction of the initial cost at a reputable breeder and also an excellent opportunity to provide a loving home for an abandoned dog. Other additional costs vary from one dog to another. The Bulldog is a great family dog that requires plenty of space preferably fenced, as they tend to wander off to cater to its need for activity and exercise. Share this post:. Statistics compiled by the American Veterinary Medical Association estimated that 53 percent of all dogs living in U. Of that number, however, few are as likely to be as cute and cuddly as Finn, the 9-month-old French bulldog-husky mix, or "French bullsky" as his owner calls him. Currently making waves on Instagram as part of a doggy duo posting under the handle adventuresoffinnandatlas, Finn is the result of an illicit canine love affair. Consequently, they have a thick double coat that protects them from the weather. Their pointing ears and long canines give them a wolf-like look , which further draws in enthusiasts of the wild. They weigh between 35 to 60 pounds with a height of 20 to 24 inches. Also, they are friendly pooches. Although they have the severe looks that can scare an intruder, Huskies are poor watchdogs and guard dogs. They have no reservation against strangers and would rather get acquainted than attack. Training is for the firm, experienced leader. One may wonder why breeders opted to mix these dogs, though the crossing did produce intriguing offspring. Unfortunately, it has a fighting past as it was used in the bloody sports of bull-baiting. After the Second World War, this breed almost got extinct. It was saved by some breeders and is now a popular feature in many homes. This bulldog is stockier than the Husky with shorter legs and a thicker head. They also have a shorter, single coat. They weigh 60 to pounds with a height of 20 to 28 inches. This dog breed makes a good companion because of its friendly nature and affection towards family members. It is common in many American families and has made its way to popular shows, including the character Spike in Tom and Jerry. Popular dogs like the American Bulldog get poorly bred, so it is more likely to get one with health problems and behavioral issues. You just be extra diligent when getting a Bulldog or any Bulldog mix. Huskies once saved a town Besides having popular parents, our designer doggy friend also has a heroic parent. The Siberian Husky once played a vital role in the survival of an Alaskan town named Nome. This happened in , during a diphtheria outbreak that threatened the people in Nome, especially children. With air transport being impossible, sled dogs were used to deliver serum to the town. Amongst these sled dogs, there was Togo, who was praised for traveling miles. There are no uniform standards for appearance, size, or temperament. The best way to know how is to observe the parents. Some of these designer dogs will look and act like the Bulldog, others will favor the Husky. The third group will rest on the fence and blend traits. The mixed breed is energetic and love space Regardless of which parent dominates more in a particular offspring, it has energy and needs regular exercise to be okay. The Bulldog needs less than the Husky, so the hybrid may fall in between. This also means it does better in a house that has a yard. While this breed can relax indoors after an exercise, it is not a good choice for apartment dwellers. It is scarce The Husky Bulldog mix is not easily found, and it is not the first option people will look out for when they want either a Husky mix or a Bulldog mix. It takes some work to locate one of these dogs. You should be ready to see many differences in look, even from puppies of the same litter. The hybrid can either be with slim legs and long ears like the Husky or have the stocky build of the Bulldog. Usually, you may find a combination of both, giving you a dog with the looks of a Husky but the body of a Bulldog. Size Like appearance, size is also determined by the parents. This makes it a medium to a large-sized dog breed, and some of these dogs will be bigger than others. This is a major reason why you need a wide space to own this mix. Apartment dwellers will do better with a smaller, calmer pooch. Colors and Coat Type The wide difference between the parents is also evident in the coat type. There may be no middle ground in coat type, so a mix may have a thick double coat or a lighter single coat. They have a potpourri of colors to choose from. These include black and white, brindle, fawn, gray and white, red. Having parents free of behavioral problems will give the offspring a better chance of being a well-mannered puppy. To ascertain traits your particular mixed dog will have, understand the personality of the parents. The Siberian Husky is notably friendlier than the Bulldog, even extending it towards strangers. Bulldogs have a guard dog wariness towards strangers and may be territorial in their bid to protect their families. The mix may either be accepting or reserved for strangers. The courage makes them brave, but do not let your pet get into a fight with another canine. That would be encouraging aggressive behavior. Realted: In addition, the designer breed may be stubborn and sometimes show independent thinking. This is common in both parent breeds. That said, you need to be a veteran pet parent to handle this breed. Overall, this breed makes a valuable companion. Regardless of what traits it gets from its parents, it turns out to be a good pet and worker when well trained. The Husky Bulldog has parents who have both proven themselves as good family dogs, so it has a good path to follow. A good buddy of adults and a playmate of kids, this mix integrate well into household settings. The environment, lifestyle, and experience of the owners influence the choice of this crossbreed. The relationship of this mixed breed with other dogs is complex. While the Husky parent is a pack dog who enjoys canine company, the Bulldog is territorial and may even get aggressive towards dogs. Introduce the mix slowly to other dogs and gauge its reaction. Its high prey drive may make it a poor choice for homes with cats and other smaller pets. They inherit a decent amount of their physical appearance from both parent breeds. Depending on the inherited genetics, your Husky Bulldog mix may have a face like the American Bulldog — with its smooshed nose and bat-ears — high-set, triangular shape, and pointing outwards. However, your Husky Bulldog mix may also inherit the physical appearance of a Husky, with a long snout, black nose, and triangular ears that point upwards. Being an active breed, you can expect your Bulldog Husky mix to inherit the endurance of a Siberian Husky, with muscular and powerful hindquarters resembling that of the Husky. In contrast, it may have the chest of an American Bulldog. This highly energetic breed is well sought-after among designer dog breeds because of its physical prowess. Welcome to Yare Valley Labradoodles Our love for our labradoodles is so great we decided to create this website to share them with as many people as possible. We live in a small Broadland village in South Norfolk, where our dogs are able to take full advantage of long country walks as well as the Norfolk Broads. Our first labradoodle came to live with us nearly 16 years ago and completely stole our hearts. Australian labradoodles are labrador retriever crossed with a poodle with the addition of other permitted breeds through the generations, including the soft coated Irish wheaten terrier, Portuguese water dog and the cocker spaniel. These infusions have resulted in dogs who are consistent in size, coat type and temperament. None of our pups are spayed or neutered before leaving for their new homes. This practice is only carried out by commercial breeders. I am not against spaying and neutering, at an appropriate age, but carrying this out before the dogs have reached maturity is not in their best interest. I also feel it is essential for family pets to be born and raised in a family home, as opposed to commercial kennels. We would never use distance selling or couriers as we view homing our puppies as a two way process that has to be right for both families. We therefore always meet potential puppy families and have them visit our home to meet our dogs. Once we offer you a puppy we ask for a 10 per cent deposit with the balance payable prior to collecting your puppy. Our puppies are only sold as family pets, as are the pups from matings with Waffle. Therefore no puppy shall be used for breeding, without our prior written consent. Curtabemdoodles is a family-run breeding service that breeds Goldendoodles, Ultimate Doodles Bernedoodles, and Mountain Doodles. The Goldendoodle puppies stay together on the field. They pride themselves in breeding healthy, high-quality, happy, well-cared-for dogs. From the moment they are born, Curtabem puppies are showered with the best. Whether it is time or money, no expense is spared in making sure their pups are healthy and happy. Curtabem dogs and puppies are crate-trained , potty-trained, and generally well-behaved all around. Curtabemdoodles offer an imprinting course during which the dogs are trained by a professional trainer. The imprinting program may last 4, 8, or 12 weeks, depending on the request of the new dog owner. During this time, the pup lives in a home setting with the trainer who teaches them basic commands, manners, and self-control. The imprinting program helps new owners through the toughest part of living with and adjusting to life with a new Goldendoodle pup. Fees for feeding, boarding, and routine treatments during the imprinting program are covered by the new dog owner. Puppies have to be a minimum of 8 weeks old before they are considered ready to leave for their new homes. At this age, Curtabemdoodles ensure they are well-cared for, vaccinated, flea treated, microchipped, and fully vet checked. When you pick up your new Goldendoodle, Curtabem gives you a puppy pack containing detailed advice on caring for your new pup, a scented blanket, and an invite to a closed Facebook group of other Curtabem puppy parents. Curtabemdoodles take their puppies through an enrichment program that begins as early as when they are just 3 days old. These sessions help the brain development of the puppies and equip them to deal with stressful situations. It also has a myriad of health benefits for the dogs such as stronger heart rates, lower blood pressure, and higher disease resistance. Curtabemdoodles do their best to make sure that you and your Doodle are right for each other and that the dog is placed in a suitable environment. At 7 weeks, they throw a puppy party where they unveil your pup and begin preparations for the move. Contact Details:. A spiritual breeder with a big heart. Playful and excitable, be prepared to remove any knick-knacks from coffee tables or end tables — this breed is notorious for knocking these over with an almost constantly wagging tail! Their heavy coats also offer additional insulation when swimming — a favorite pastime of Labradors, Silver Labs included. One of the facts about Labrador Retrievers is that they come in many colors. Silver Labrador Retrievers, or Silver Labs, are relatively new compared to the other Lab coat colors. Contrary to their Yellow, Chocolate, and Black Lab cousins, which have recorded sightings from and before, Silver Labs have only cropped up since .There was some heated debate over their authenticity, as many breeders believed the silver tint appeared from outside the breed. A diluting factor in coat color dominance traits is responsible for the silver hue — something that is also present in Charcoal and Champagne Labs as well. At any rate, Silver Labrador Retrievers are regal, loyal, and friendly Labradors that have a lot of energy and a lot of love to give! Silver Labs are curious and playful dogs. Their curiosity will often get the better of them and they may wander off in search of adventure if they are off-leash. Despite their energy and getting bored easily, they are still a great fit for dog owners of any experience level. Labrador Retrievers are considered one of the best dog breeds for first-time owners. Silver Labrador Retrievers have short, water-resistant fur in two layers. Because of this dense double coat that protects them from the cold, and being one of the dog breeds that tend to love water , they may try to go for a swim regardless of the season.
