Groomers suggest not to clip the body of the dog until it is about 6 months of age. Shampoo time! It is really up to you to decide how often to shampoo your pup. We do ours about every two weeks. If your dog rolls in something unsavoury, or has a digging session in the garden, you may need to do him more frequently. There are lots of good shampoos on the market. We prefer an unscented, paragon free natural soap such as Castile soap available from health food shops. Drying, Blowing Dirt or sand from coats Human hair dryers are not good for dogs. They are too hot and a very high pitch which many dogs dont like. They are also really ineffective in comparison to a blast dryer, such as the one on the right. These will separate the fibres in your dogs coat far better than brushing. They will also blow out sand after a trip to beach, or dry your dog in minutes after a bath.
