labrador mastiff puppy

Josh is an affectionate, adorable, jaunty, and floppy 5 month old puppy! He's done very well meeting other dogs off leash, mirroring their play style, and respecting their limits. He is wonderful at playing fetch, and loves tug of war. He has been a very charming foster sibling to our two year old mastiff mix and our five year old cat. The dogs chase, wrestle, and cuddle one another whenever they're together. And Josh and the kitty no longer require a gate or any physical separation. They often nuzzle and have had many a harmonious nap, which is beyond cute! His paws are huge and so is his bark, but he responds beautifully to 'quiet,' and with consistent positive reinforcement he will continue to have that mastered, making him an excellent guard dog, but not a nuisance barker. We've been rewarding him to "look at me, to refocus his attention. Our read is that he is simply a bit scared of strangers while in an unfamiliar setting, since within our yard and unrestrained he has cheerfully greeted new people and dogs. Josh is very food motivated, which makes training a joy! He already knows sit, lie down, the basics of recall, and moderate 'leave it'. He also has the initial concept of 'place' or 'spot' mastered. He doesn't puppy bite!! He's potty trained and responds well to 'go potty' when going outside before bedtime. Get ready for the cuddles! He will be a joyous, loyal, and adorable addition to the right family. Apply this big baby. To see more adoptable Boxers in Troutdale, Oregon, use the search tool below to enter specific criteria! Lifespan Sociability Brugs act very similarly to other small, companion dogs. They love people and want to be around their family. Of course, early socialization is still required, but, for the most part, they are pretty easygoing. They are relatively high-energy, however. They need quite a bit of exercise. However, their small size makes it easy to exercise them in tight spaces and on short walks. With that said, because these dogs were bred to be companions, they are a bit lacking in the brains department. They take lots of patience to train, simply because it takes them a bit to figure out what you want them to do. Brug dogs vary widely. Not all Brugs are the same in the least. Because this is a mixed breed, you never exactly know which traits a particular puppy is going to inherit. Some Brugs look and act just like a Pug, while others may act like a mix between both their parents. They are healthier than their parents. Brugs are generally healthier than their parents. This is because they inherit a broader array of genes from their parents. Purebred dogs tend to have more health problems because they come from a smaller range of genes, which makes them more likely to inherit genes that are associated with health problems. For a long time, this breed was likely characterized as just a mixed breed. They love their family and are very affectionate. However, because they are smaller, they are not necessarily good choices for families with children. They can get hurt by rambunctious children quite quickly, which can cause them to snap. The 'big yard' is mostly open and covered with thick grass and is securely fenced. This is the yard where the adult German Shepherds can run free in small groups for longer periods of time requiring less supervision. Big dogs must have a securely fenced yard big enough for them to be able to break into a run so they can frolic in their exercise times. It's good for humans too. Emily takes time daily with each dog to visit, sometimes on the favorite stump in the 'big yard' which is an acre and a half safe and secure play place. The dogs must have daily opportunities to interact, bond, and play with one another and their humans. These are truly family companion dogs! The creek that carries the overflow from Lake Alice doesn't run year round but when it does, there are a couple of small waterfalls that are very pleasant places to pause and listen to the water. Most of the dogs really like wading around and splashing in the falls. Just another of our several places that are good excuses to visit and pay attention to and play with our doggy friends. Many of our visits also incorporate 'school time' and we find these dogs very easy to train and willing to please. We hope that you have enjoyed this little 'taste' of Rosehall Farm. After all, the high heritability of health crises such as hip dysplasia in GSDs has been studied for decades already. Sloped or roach-back German Shepherds are not the only back type. On the contrary, it was bred after the original breed type was established in the early s. Sloped back German Shepherds were promoted by influential breeders. Some people fell in love with the posture and gait that the German Shepherd with the curved back has. However, the real question is whether or not you should fall in love with the curved back. Furthermore, the new back type was even harmful to the breed. Many loved the new gait in the show ring as well as the overall look of the German Shepherd roach back and the unnatural stance the dog now took due to the lowered hind legs. German Shepherds with straight backs are the original breed type. Their back forms a straight line. This appearance resembles the wolf. The German Shepherd with a straight back is usually considered superior to the sloped back type as it affects their posture and movement. Health benefits. German Shepherds were bred with straight backs to be active, agile, and healthy helpers on farms and for various other activities. Sadly, this changed when the new version was introduced because the sloped back German Shepherd is much more prone to joint issues, hip dysplasia, and many more health issues related to the unnatural back. Adding to that, Max von Stephanitz who was the grandfather of the breed heavily advocated for the straight back when he created the breed. Animal rescues, dog breed experts, and vets around the world prefer the straight back for just these health reasons. For many years the British KC is debating the soundness of this development and their position is as follows: The Kennel Club remains in no doubt that currently, the single biggest threat to the reputation and interest of the breed is the lack of soundness in hindquarters. Why is it that many people make this a political thing though? The owner stated on social media that she felt like this was directed against her. Amidst all her confusion on why people were being so mean, she seemingly lost sight of the issue at hand which is the sloped or roach back of her dog. So, does a sloped back Shepherd always suffer joint diseases? Definitely not. Will a straight back always be free from any hip or joint issues? Does that mean you should take on the risk of an unnatural gait just because you like the look? This is especially problematic since German Shepherds mixes are widely spread to give them the seemingly best of both worlds. Breeding with generally healthy breeds like the Husky may result in bad hips nonetheless. For American buyers, it might be a tad more difficult since the trend in AKC show lines strongly leans towards the sloping back. German working lines are not free from hip issues though. Time and time again, I witness responsible breeders that turn their back on the German Shepherd breed due to the community that steers it in the wrong direction. Performing a job. Last but not least, I find the sentiment that the sloped back looks superior questionable. In my personal opinion, a weird stance and gait are not at all desirable. Study References:. I have tried different breeds, but always come back to what I know and love. The German Shepherd Dog is the right fit for me. I breed large, old-fashioned, straight-backed, German Shepherds with a special focus on health and temperament. I am a very small breeder, all my dogs live with me, in the house. They are first, and foremost, my beloved pets. In my litters, I concentrate on the things that matter most to me: Health and Temperament. My dogs are all larger than the breed standard but with no compromise to their health. All my dogs are medium to low energy, making them easy to train and ideally suited for families. I do not breed: dogs that are hyper, dogs that show any signs of aggression, working dogs, high drive dogs, or dogs with excessive angulation. Puppies are born and raised in my home! That means your puppy goes home with you already socialized with other dogs, with cats, and familiar with all the sights and sounds of a normal home. All puppies are also current on vaccinations and on a set deworming schedule. The puppies bred here are sold as companions and pets. Just as working dogs are bred to work, my puppies are bred to live in and be a part of a family. With their low to low-medium drive, my pups are very easy for their new parents to train and still possess that famous German Shepherd instinct to protect their home and their family. These soft temperaments mean that my dogs are happy to go out and play, but just as happy to come in, lay at your feet, and interact with their family. Our dogs are x-rayed and certified through the orthopedic foundation for animals OFA and they are also PennHip certified. Also called the Bernese Mountain Poo, Bernesepoo, Bernesedoodle, and Bernepoo, the Bernedoodle hybid mixes the happy-go-lucky temperament of the Bernese Mountain Dog with the intelligence of its Poodle parents. Mini Bernedoodles are happiest when they're spending time with their families, children included. They are willing participants in playtime and cuddle fests alike. Fans of the breed adore their friendliness, playfulness, intelligence, and affection. They are fairly adaptable and go with the flow. If you need a dog for the whole family, or if you're a single owner looking for a lovable, smart mixed-breed with good health that will put a smile on your face with their antics, you won't be able to find a much better choice than the Miniature Bernedoodle. They do well with children and other animals, and are happiest as part of a family. They love spending time with their human family and should not be left alone for long periods. They can be wary of strangers, but early training can help their socialization. Toy and mini Bernedoodles can be more energetic and stubborn than the standard version, but you will find them relatively easy to train because of that Poodle intelligence. Their skull is moderately round with flat cheekbones and a long, straight muzzle with a scissor bite. Their eyes are dark, oval, and set far enough apart to make their facial expressions appear alert and intelligent. Ears have wide and thick ear leather and hang close to the head, at or just below eye level. Coats can be curly, dense, and highly textured, or corded, hanging in tight even cords of varying lengths. The coat is tricolor with black as the base and markings in rich rust and clear white. The tail will vary in length, but it is bushy and carried high. Exercise Medium Activity Bernedoodles are moderately active and will love daily walks. They enjoy playing fetch and spending time with you. This breed tends to wander and hunt, so a fenced-in yard is important. They can adapt to urban or rural settings provided there is time and space for daily exercise. This breed requires a lot of human interaction, so leaving him alone outside for long periods will not work for the Bernedoodle. We recommend at least an hour of exercise every day. They will do well with time to fetch, run, and learn new tricks. The miniature bernedoodle may also vary in color and coat with the mini or toy poodle daddy being credited with the majority of these specific conformations. Miniature Bernedoodle Size Depending on the breeder, there is a great size range in the mini-bernedoodles. Some breeders use miniature poodles, other toy poodles, to obtain the smaller body size. Mini bernedoodles can range anywhere from 15 pounds to 40 pounds depending on the dogs used for breeding. HC Bernedoodles specializes in these special mini-bernedoodle puppies. Though it's important to note, size of the puppy is often not known until after birth. We've had a 7 pound toy produce a 50 pound as an adult offspring. First, and possibly the most popular is the traditional black tri color which consists of black, white and tan or rust colors and will strongly resemble the Bernese mountain dog's colors. Then there,s the sable tri color which will consist of any sable color, tan and white markings and is considered to be more of a speciality color. Sable is a color that will generally carry a fading gene and will lighten in color as they age. We also have the bi colors which are most generally black with the white Bernese markings. You may encounter a solid color mini bernedoodle as well and they will generally consist of a solid black with a few small white markings that will generally disappear as they mature in size. At HC Bernedoodles we avoid breeding solid colors due to being the least appealing look in the Bernedoodle. We may see a more wavey coat in some vs. While the wavey coat may be more appealing in appearance, the curly coat is more suitable for allergy sufferers due to generally being less shedding than the wavey coat. It is difficult to predict these coats as young puppies due to observing a puppy coat vs. Miniature Bernedoodle Temperament The miniature bernedoodle may be more active than the larger Bernedoodle breeds due to the toy or miniature poodle being more of an active breed. They are a highly recommended family dog breed and are tremendous with children due to carrying the genes of the affectionate, loving Bernese mountain dog. While intelligence simplifies training in the mini bernedoodle it can work in a negative sense as well. If training is neglected you may see bad habits develop earlier than in breeds that may not be known to be as intelligent. Therefore it is highly recommended to start training at an early age and be consistent in training exercises. Health Health is possibly the greatest attribute in the F1 mini bernedoodle. Being a smaller size hybrid cross they are the least likely to inherit congenital health problems, with the likelihood of hip or elbow dysplasia being greatly reduced due to the much smaller size. Exercise The miniature bernedoodle requires a moderate amount of exercise. Daily exercise is generally sufficient. Pitbull Poodle Mix is an excellent family dog. They love to play with children and can keep them entertained for hours. They also resist naughty antics from children as they have a high pain tolerance. Don't let the negative reputation of the Pitbull name put you off having Boodles as a pet for your family. Dogs loved and cared for with love and respect are never dangerous to their guardians. It is important to socialize your dog with other dogs as soon as possible. This will allow them to learn to enjoy the company of other pets. You should also make sure they are not loose around other animals. You can monitor your Boodle's interactions with other animals and intervene if you feel things are getting out of control. Pitbull Poodle Mix Exercise Requirement Dogs can go wild because they lack mental and physical stimulation. This can be avoided by ensuring your Pitbull Poodle Pitbull mixes get at least 45 minutes to an hour of exercise each day. They can become aggressive and frustrated if they don't get enough exercise. This Boodle's curly coat collects fur and dander rather than letting it shed. This coat can be prone to mats and tangles, so you should brush him daily to keep him clean and shiny. Wooly Boodles will need to be bathed more often than other dogs. Tightly curly hair traps dirt, debris, and other waste. Pitbulls can be passed on to Pit Boodles the same way a Pitbull can adopt their Pitbull parent. A Pitbull-like Pitbull Boodle will have a smoother coat. He will lose, but he will require less care. The puppy can live for several weeks without bathing and tolerates weekly brushing. Whatever the situation, you should use mild, gentle shampoo for your Boodle. To avoid excessive earwax buildup, brush his teeth at least once a week and clean his ears. Also, be sure to trim their nails as long as possible. Long nails can restrict a puppy's movement and gait. Pit Boodles don't always get the curly coat of the Poodle. Expect moderate shedders if your Pitbull puppy inherits the Pitbull coat. Curly hair keeps loose hair from floating around, allowing him to stick to his fur instead. To get rid of loose hair, your Boodle must brush his teeth daily. Your dog's size, age, and activity level will affect his diet. A veterinarian can help you determine how much food your Pit-Poodle should eat daily. Avoid giving leftover Pitbull Poodle Mix, especially fatty foods and foods high in salt, sugar, and spices. Consuming such foods can lead to toxic effects and long-term health problems, including obesity and high cholesterol. Instead, always feed your puppy natural canine food. It's also essential to make sure your Boodle eats slowly. Bloating can lead to serious health problems. This can be avoided by dividing their daily meals into two parts. To prevent them from eating too quickly, you can buy food bowls. Pitbull Poodle Mix Common Health Problems The Pitbull poodle mix is not purebred and does not have the same genetic health issues as its parents. That doesn't mean you should blindly buy them. Always ask about the parent's health exam and medical records before purchasing a Boodle puppy. These diseases are common in both parent breeds. So let's find out what they are. This can lead to hip dysplasia in puppies. Before buying a puppy, ensure the parents do not suffer from hip dysplasia. Bloating: Bloat, or gastric dilatation-volvulus GDV , is a condition where there is an excessive amount of air in the abdomen. If you don't take your pet to the vet immediately, this condition could prove fatal. Eye Problems: Poodles can inherit eye problems such as progressive retinal atrophy PRA , cataracts, and distichiasis. These conditions are not life-threatening but can lead to blindness. Ear Infection: Ear infections can be severe and cause long-term problems for your dog. Earwax can cause infections in your Boodles' ears. Soak a cotton ball in warm water to clean your puppy's ears. Addison's Disease: Addison's disease is a disease in which dogs' adrenal glands stop producing certain hormones. If treatment is not given immediately, it can be fatal. Therefore, you should take your dog to the vet immediately if you notice any signs such as lethargy, vomiting, or lack of appetite. Obesity: Obesity can lead to many other diseases. Your Boodle can gain weight by overeating, not exercising, or eating fatty foods. Excess weight can lead to heart disease, orthopedic problems, and diabetes. A healthy Pitbull Poodle Mix puppy from a good breeder can live up to years. Leave a comment. They have both the strength of the Pitbull and the intelligence of the Poodle. With the right care, socialization, and training, you can be sure that the Pit Boodle will be a wonderful companion even for kids! Aside from being a great family dog, the Pitbull Poodle mix is also known for its adaptability and instinct for obedience. To understand the Pitbull Poodle mix better, we can take a glance at the parent breeds and know their history. One of these theories says that Poodles were bred from rugged Asian herding dogs and were then captured by an ethnic group native to North Africa called Berbers. Another theory is that they were descended from dogs that left the Asian steppes with the nomadic German people called the Goths. In the past, Poodles were often used as hunting dogs and duck retrievers. Because of this, they were owned not by the common folk but by wealthier families who hunted fowls. They were originally bred from Old English Bulldogs who fought and killed bulls for entertainment purposes. After games like bull-baiting were prohibited, other games followed such as ratting in which Bulldogs competed to see who could kill more rats. These games became increasingly popular which led competitors to believe that there was a need for better-skilled dogs. Later, the Pitbull found itself in America, left behind its old identity and became known as working dogs. They helped in hunting and protecting livestock and families. Photo from mexikiwitex IG How the Pitbull Poodle mix will look when fully grown is very unpredictable since Pitbulls and Poodles are built very differently. Pitbulls are muscular which shows their strength while Poodles are slender and exude elegance. But whether a Pit Boodle puppy will inherit more traits from its Pitbull or Poodle parent, some traits are predictable. These will let you know what to expect from Pit Boodle puppies. Build The build is harder to predict since the Pit Boodle puppy may either take after the Pitbull parent or inherit more from the Poodle lineage. If the Pit Boodle pup takes after the former, it may grow into a muscular build with a boxy silhouette. These pups are generally proportional but they may have slightly longer legs compared to other medium dogs. The coat can come in a multitude of colors, including white, tan, black , grey , and blue, and they may have a brindle pattern. Thus, a fully grown Pitbull Poodle mix can be as small as 18 inches or as tall as 24 inches and can weigh anywhere between 40 to 70 pounds. The Pitbull Poodle mix makes for a great family dog because of the superb temperament inherited from both breeds. Pitbull and Poodle mixes can be great with children as long as they are socialized properly. They are gentle and playful medium-sized dogs who are generally careful around children. Of course, despite this, accidents can happen at any time. Socializing them at a young age will decrease the chances of any accidental injury from happening. This could result in aggressiveness but this can easily be prevented if you train your pup well enough. As much as possible, the Pit Boodle pup should not be left at home alone since they can feel scared and agitated. This could lead to them biting and gnawing at anything they can reach. If it goes on for an extended period of time, this behavior could get worse. Female Pitbull: Which Is Better? Every dog is different, and the same is true for each Pit Boodle puppy. Their size can affect their expected lifespan, with some smaller Pitbull Poodle mixes living longer than the larger ones. The Pitbull Poodle mix is generally a healthy dog but as with all animals, they are at risk of a few health issues. Since the Pit Boodle is a mixed breed, they can inherit the known health conditions of either parent. In general, Pit Boodles have a life expectancy of 9 to 15 years. Hip Dysplasia: Both Pitbulls and Poodles are at risk of hip dysplasia , which makes it a very high-risk condition for Pit Boodles. To avoid the risk of hip dysplasia, make sure your pup has a healthy lifestyle. Otherwise, they can easily develop arthritis and other mobility difficulties. If left alone, skin infections are likely. Bloat: One of the most common health issues, bloat is usually seen in dogs with improper diet and insufficient exercise. If left unchecked, this can be fatal for your dog. Obesity: Another common health issue caused by an improper diet and lack of exercise, prolonged obesity can lead to several health issues such as many types of cancer, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, hypertension, osteoarthritis, and faster degeneration of affected joints. Advantages and Disadvantages of Breeding Pitbull and Poodle Together For years, crossbreeding has been controversial in the dog world. Crossbreeding has advantages and disadvantages, and the same is true for crossbreeding a Poodle and a Pitbull. Some dog enthusiasts prefer crossbreeds because they often have a unique look. This is especially true for the Pitbull and Poodle mix because of how different the parents look. They may also be at a lower risk of congenital diseases, especially if only one of the parents is a carrier. In the future, the Pitbull Poodle mix can become the basis for a new dog breed. For example, because hip dysplasia is common among both parents, it is a high-risk condition for Pit Boodles. Lastly, because designer dogs are becoming increasingly popular, some mixed-breed dogs can be more expensive than purebreds. If you want to bring home a Pit Boodle pup, be prepared to spend some money. They are also popular choices for families with allergies, as they do not shed as much as other breeds. Poodle Mixes come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and colors, making them one of the most popular hybrid dog breeds. While all Poodle Mixes share some common features, their individual personalities can vary widely. Some Poodle Mixes are confident and outgoing, while others are more reserved and shy. Some breeds tend to be independent thinkers, while others are more eager to please. The best way to determine what personality type is right for you is to meet with a local breeder or rescue organization that specializes in Poodle Mixes. Brush their teeth regularly even if chewable treats are given and take them to the vet from time to time to ensure that your health habits are checked and okay for your pitbull poodle mix. If you give your dog table food, chances are, it will develop illnesses brought about by human food. Opt to stick to dog food pellets, soft meat, etc. Bloating: this is a common thing among different breeds. Bloating leads to gastric dilatation-volvulus if not addressed immediately and may lead to death. Hip dysplasia: Poodles are prone to have joint dysplasia most commonly in the hip and pelvic area. This occurrence happens when joints pop out of the socket, causing immense pain for the hybrid. Pitbull Crossed With Poodle Food Requirements Make it a point to ensure and prioritize the type of food you allow your dog to eat because this will significantly affect its longevity of life and health status. Take note of the size and needs of each breed it came from so you may plan a specific diet for your hybrid. Treats are good for training as well but refrain from making it a daily habit to lessen weight gain. Make sure you choose snacks that have low caloric content. Take note of the nutrients needed to ensure a proper diet. Always choose foods that are rich in protein, as they are high energy dogs. Make sure to avoid typical dog allergens such as wheat, corn, and potatoes. Your dog might be prone to skin diseases as well, and its best to strictly follow feeding instructions. If you look hard enough, the market offers a lot of high-quality foods you can give your pitbull poodle mix. Instinct takes pride in improving the coat of any dog that stays on their dog food for a while. High-energy dogs will surely benefit from all the protein this brand gives. It also contains oat fiber for proper digestion, and dried cranberries, blueberries, and spinach as antioxidants. It includes chicken, fish, and whitefish meal. Antioxidants such as Vitamin E, beta carotene, fruits, and vegetables are incorporated to boost the immune system. Oatmeal, barley, brown rice, and rye are included to promote digestion and L-carnitine for fat burning. Their product has natural microorganisms to help aid digestion in line with the incorporation of lentils as a fiber source. Considering that your gorgeous mixed breed is a medium-size dog, you can offer them either the best dry dog food for small dogs or the best large breed dry dog food — it may surprise you to find out which parent they take their taste for food after! Whichever brand you settle on, make sure that it is only the best dry dog food kind as going for the worst dry dog food may have dire consequences on the overall health of your pooch. Pitbull Poodles Exercise Requirements Your boodle is a product of two very different breeds: one is highly active, and the other focuses more on the intellectual aspect so it would be best to choose equipment or toys that can exercise them physically, as well as train their minds and awaken their sensitivity. Make sure you schedule play time with your dogs, whether its walking or running or playing in the park to ensure that they have a healthy lifestyle. You can also incorporate exercise in your home. Try playing hide and seek or fetch in your backyard, anything to keep your dog going and panting. Physical and mental exercises are essential to avoid putting your boodle in an idle state, which can lead to depression, boredom, and destruction. Try your best to plan any form of activity that will keep your pups active physically and mentally. To improve your exercise regimen, here are some toys you can purchase: Canine Hardware Chuckit! Classic Launchers: This is perfect for the non-athletic, stay at home type of owners. This product is also ideal for the energetic side of your hybrid, without giving you the sore arm from repeatedly throwing the ball. FluffyPal Chew Toys For Puppies Small Dogs And Medium Dogs: This product is an all-in-one type because it can be a teething toy which can remove tartar, a potential favorite toy, and it also has a vanilla scent to counter any dog drool smell. Not only does it exercise your hybrid, but it also teaches it about rewards and positive outcomes when they follow a command. Hear Doggy! With the balanced need for exercise, you can choose to specify activities that will enhance their physical and mental abilities. Make sure you have enough space for them to run around and play. So this can be a bit of a challenge because you need to exercise both aspects. Pit bulls tend to exercise wanting the alpha position, which needs training that involves firmness, confidence, and a strong will. A poodle is an intelligent type and will be a bit challenging to train, so they need more patience and understanding. Always start training once you establish what you want and need for your pup. Train your puppies before reaching a year old, starting from simple commands until more difficult ones. Here are tips to make training easier for your boodle: Plan What You Want To Teach: To avoid confusion for your dog, make sure you have a plan as to what commands you want your dog to learn. Schedule Shorter Sessions: The reason for this is to have a higher attention span. If you think long sessions bore your hybrid, cut them down to at least 30 minutes to an hour to ensure, you have their full attention. Practice Positive Reinforcement: a poodle is an intelligent breed, and they remember when you praise them for doing something right. They tend to be shy and aggressive towards new people, which might be the case for your boodle. You can visit the vet and ask for tips, or you can bring them to the park until they familiarize themselves with different people and dogs as well. Potty Training: This is an essential type of training for almost all dogs. It saves you effort and money, and it also lessens the stress of accidentally stepping on unwanted stuff. Throughout history, pit bulls are known and recognized as dangerous and aggressive. On the other hand, poodles require mental stimulation and constant socialization. A mix of the two breeds will still require socialization training. Your pitbull poodle mix can be stubborn at times, but they are also easy to train. Make it a habit to remind family members that your dog needs to exercise, so that you can take turns as to who will take the dog out for a walk. Having a big space is ideal for the energetic side of your dog. Because a mix can take on any combination of traits from their parent breeds, you want to make sure you ask about the other parent breed in the mix. Should a Standard Poodle Mix take after their Poodle parent, they will be a loving, loyal, energetic, and playful dog that makes a great addition to a household. Poodles are known for being fantastic family companions. They are upbeat, cheerful, sensitive to their owners, intelligent, and playful. They get along well with children and other dogs. They can have a high prey drive. So, they may need some extra socialization and training with smaller pets in the household. They also have a protective instinct, which makes them initially wary of strangers. But, as long as they have been properly socialized, they will warm up quickly. If the other parent breed has a similar temperament, then you can expect the same in a Standard Poodle Mix. You can also meet the mother in-person to see what behavior she is modeling for her puppies and the manners she is teaching them. The breeder should have started socializing and training puppies. But, once you get them home, it is up to you to continue to train and socialize a puppy so they grow into a well-rounded dog. A Standard Poodle is a highly adaptable dog breed. Although they tend to be better suited to homes with yards where they can run, they can adapt to apartment living as long as they get enough exercise, attention, and mental stimulation. As with any dog breed, a Poodle is sensitive to heat. When temperatures drop, they may need some winter dog products to stay warm. They also do not like to be left alone for long periods of time because they bond so closely with their owners. If the other parent breed is similar, then you should be able to expect a similar adaptability level from a Standard Poodle Mix. But, they may still have some quirks they could introduce, so you want to ask the breeder about them. Just as they could inherit none of the conditions common to their parent breeds, they could also inherit all of them or a combination of them. The other parent will introduce their own potential health concerns, so you want to ask the breeder about them. Reputable breeders will be screening their dogs to make sure they are not passing issues to puppies. So, you should plan to ask about the health history of both of the parents anyway. You can also ask to see test results or clearances from any health evaluations that have been done. Standard Poodles are also one of the dog breeds at a higher risk for bloat. Poodles are intelligent, in-tune with their owners, and eager to please. This makes them a great fit for owners of all experience levels. The other parent breed could make them more difficult to train so you want to ask the breeder about them. If the other parent breed is just as highly trainable, then you can expect a Standard Poodle Mix to be highly trainable as well. They often offer socialization opportunities while also strengthening your bond with your puppy. One of the reasons there are so many Poodle mixes is because of their low-shedding coat. Although a Standard Poodle Mix could inherit the low-shedding Poodle coat, they could also inherit a coat similar to the other parent breed or a coat that is a combination of both. Also, a low-shedding coat does not always mean a low-maintenance coat. Should your Standard Poodle Mix inherit a full Poodle coat, you will need to brush them every day, bathe them occasionally, and get them professionally groomed every weeks. Good dental care for dogs , like brushing teeth or using an enzyme toothpaste daily, helps prevent painful dental diseases later in life. Poodles may have a fashionable reputation, but they are also sturdy and athletic working dogs. They are also high-energy dogs that require a lot of daily exercise and mental stimulation to be happy and healthy. If the other parent breed is also a high-energy dog, then you can expect your Standard Poodle Mix to have high exercise requirements as well. Even if the other parent breed has a lower activity level, you will still need to be prepared for the possibility of a high-energy dog. A fully-grown Standard Poodle usually stands inches tall and weighs pounds. The other parent breed can affect this, especially if they are the mother, so make sure you ask the breeder about them. Standard Poodles generally live for years. Although the other parent breed may affect this slightly, you should be able to expect a similar life span in a Standard Poodle Mix. Featured Standard Poodle Mix Article. Pitbulls are a medium-sized breed with a muscular build and short, smooth coats. They typically weigh between 30 and 70 pounds and stand between 17 and 21 inches tall at the shoulder. Poodles are a breed of dog in three sizes: Standard, Miniature, and Toy. Standard Poodles are the largest of the three and typically weigh between 45 and 70 pounds and stand between 15 and 24 inches tall at the shoulder. Miniature Poodles are smaller, weighing 15 and 17 pounds and standing between 11 and 15 inches tall at the shoulder. Finally, toy Poodles are the smallest, weighing between 6 and 9 pounds and standing between 10 and 11 inches tall at the shoulder. It is also possible for the breed to exhibit a wide range of sizes and builds, as it is a mixed breed and can inherit a combination of physical characteristics from its parents. A Pitbull Poodle mix is likely to be a medium-sized dog, although it could be smaller or larger depending on its specific parentage and inherited characteristics. labrador mastiff puppy - This cross means that Australian Shepherd Mix puppies can have the traits of an Australian Shepherd, the other dog breed in the cross, or any combination of both of the parent breeds. On the Australian Shepherd side, you have a loving, loyal, dedicated, and high-energy working dog that also makes a great pet for an active family. This, in addition to meeting the puppy and the mother dog in-person, will give you a good idea of what to expect in your puppy. If the Australian Shepherd Mix takes after the Australian Shepherd, they will be a highly intelligent and highly active dog that loves to be doing things with their families. Although Australian Shepherds are high-energy working dogs with herding instincts built-in, they tend to get along well with children and are highly protective of their families, which makes them good watchdogs and guard dogs. They can be wary and suspicious of strangers and other dogs, but with socialization early and often, they can take on a more open and friendly nature. Asking the breeder about the other parent breed in the cross will give you a better idea of what temperament to expect in your Australian Shepherd Mix puppy. Puppies raised in the same litter will often learn how to behave from their mother, so meeting the mother dog in-person will also give you a good idea of what sort of temperament your puppy might have. Depending on the other dog breed in the cross, the Australian Shepherd Mix is likely to be highly adaptable. An Australian Shepherd can adapt to large homes with plenty of space to run as well as smaller apartments, as long as they are given plenty of exercise and attention. They also do well in both cold and warm climates. This could change a bit depending on the other parent breed, but asking the breeder about the parents is a good way to determine what to expect. The Australian Shepherd is a relatively healthy dog breed, but there are some potential health issues to be aware of. These include deafness, allergies, cancer, hypothyroidism, epilepsy , and sensitivity to certain drugs. Talking with the breeder about the genetic history of both of the parent breeds, any breed-specific issues with the other parent breed, and asking to see any health clearances can help allay several potential health concerns. Australian Shepherds are highly intelligent, tend to be sensitive to their owners, and are innately eager to please. If the Australian Shepherd Mix takes after their Australian Shepherd parent, they will be a good fit for an owner of any experience level. The grooming level to expect in an Australian Shepherd Mix will depend heavily on the parent breeds in the cross. An Australian Shepherd does shed year-round with two heavier seasonal shedding sessions and will require regular brushing to maintain a healthy coat. If kept groomed, they only need to be bathed when they are dirty, which keeps their bathing needs low maintenance. You will want to ask the breeder about the other dog breed in the mix to get a better idea of what coat types you could expect. If the Australian Shepherd Mix has ears that flop over, they will be more prone to ear infections as their ears are more likely to trap moisture, dirt, and debris. You may just need to check floppy ears more often. Dental disease is one of the most common, and most preventable, health issues in dogs. Good dental care for your dog could include one or a mix of brushing their teeth daily, using enzyme toothpaste, dental chews, and more. Because the Australian Shepherd has such a high energy level, you need to be prepared for an Australian Shepherd Mix to require a lot of daily exercise to stay happy and healthy. Not only do Australian Shepherds need a job to do, but they also need to run and play a lot to expend energy. This could vary in an Australian Shepherd Mix depending on the other breed in the cross, but you will need to be prepared for the possibility of a high-energy working dog. An Australian Shepherd usually stands 18 — 23 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between 35 and 70 pounds. The size of an Australian Shepherd Mix can be greatly affected by the other parent breed in the cross. Asking the breeder about the other parent breed and meeting the mother dog can give you a good idea of what size to expect in your Australian Shepherd Mix puppy. Australian Shepherds generally live for 12 — 15 years. Although the other parent breed of an Australian Shepherd Mix can affect the average life expectancy slightly, you should be able to expect a similar life span from them. Featured Australian Shepherd Mix Article. German Australian Shepherd Video Temperament and Behavior Known for their intelligence, alertness, and loyalty, the Australian German Shepherds are extremely devoted to their family members, spending time playing. They get along well with the kids provided they are socialized when young. As in the case of most herding dogs , they are reserved and unresponsive with strangers. Being protective by nature, they do a great job watching and guarding their house and family. Because of their kind and loving behavior towards their family members, they are considered good family pets. However, they need confident and firm leadership and are thus not suitable for the timid or first-time owners. Care Exercise As a lively dog, it needs a minimum one-hour of daily activities including running, playing, and agility exercises. Keep your pet occupied and mentally stimulated by providing it with puzzle toys. Long walks are also recommended for avoiding boredom and inactivity. Grooming Routine maintenance will ensure a shinier and healthier coat. Utilize a slicker brush to stroke its hair in the direction of its growth. This will keep dead hairs from coming on your clothes as well as furnishings. Do not bathe your pet too often as it might strip its skin of all its natural oils. Trim its nails occasionally to prevent them from growing too long. Keep its teeth and gums healthy by brushing them with a gentle toothbrush and vet-recommended toothpaste. Health Problems These dogs might be prone to common health conditions including food and contact allergies, hip dysplasia, epilepsy, eye disorders, as well as some other diseases affecting its parent breeds. While adopting a puppy, it is advisable that you check the health clearances of its parents from the breeder. Training Let your pet know that you are its leader and it should follow your commands. Enforce strict and positive training methods, but do not be too harsh. You may reward it by praising its good behavior, offering foods, or playing with toys. This will encourage your pet to listen to your commands and accept training. Feeding Keep an eye on the quality as well as the quantity of food you provide your pet. A low-calorie diet with small amounts of fat and protein is necessary to keep it in good shape. Do not offer more than cups of dog food a day. Applies to all dog food recalls in the U. The German Shepherd mixed with Australian Shepherd dogs weighs from 46 to 65 pounds. Its parent breeds are notably medium to large-sized dogs. The height of this crossbreed could range from 20 to 23 inches. Its coat is remarkably dense. You should be wary about warm places due to the coat of this dog. The colors of their coat can come out as a combination of white, black, blue, red, cream, silver, and sable. The Australian Shepherd German Shepherd mix makes a very energetic dog, suitable for owners and families with an active lifestyle. This dog also loves going outdoors and exploring nature. The German Shepherd crossed with Australian Shepherd dogs are intelligent dogs. They can be trained well to become service and therapy dogs. High intelligence causes less worry and more pride to the owners. The trainers would require less training time for this crossbreed. The mixed puppy has a clingy nature. Overall, this crossbreed is a dependable and wonderful companion. Australian Shepherd Crossed with German Shepherd Puppies for Sale Finding a breeder for a crossbreed tends to be more difficult than going into a pet store and purchasing a new pet. The quality of the crossbreed is drastically high when the dog is acquired through reliable breeders. One place where you can spot potential professional breeders is at a dog show. Certified breeders often attend this event. You can gauge the temperament and disposition of some dog breeds during the dog show as well. This event could help you decide better on what breed to get. There are designated and verified parent clubs that you can access and reach out to. These parent clubs provide support for breed-specific studies, along with the help of AKC. You can seek out public opinion regarding some breeders. There are breeders with website and comments. You will see disappointed owners or prospective buyers if the breeder has pending issues on the environment and health problems of the dogs. There is no accessible list of substantiated breeders for the Australian Shepherd German Shepherd Mix dogs at this time. These places are good grounds for acquiring your new family member. Following these steps will assure that your dog will be in top appearance throughout all the seasons. Brushing is an essential part of grooming this mixed breed. The German Shepherd Australian Shepherds shed heavily throughout the year. Brushing is beneficial in developing your bond with your dog as well as its aesthetic value. I recommend two to four times of brushing per week for this crossbreed. Another function of brushing the coat is providing proper insulation for the dog. Some owners prefer this step. This may or may not reduce the insulating property of the coat. There is a possibility that the coat will not grow as well as before it was shaved. While you are brushing its coat, you should also check for tick and flea infestations. You may also need a pair of thinning shears. You need to do minimal trimming of the feet, tail, ears, britches, and legs. With the use of a slicker brush, you will gently brush the hair from the toes toward the leg of the dog. You will cut the hair sticking above the foot and the lengthier hair surrounding the foot. You can use the shears to cut a vertical line at the end of the tail. You only need to cut the hair with excess length. Trimming this part involves following the natural curve of the coat. The special spot to notice is the coat on the ear. If you lack the basic grooming tools or enough time, there are dog wash salons that may also offer grooming services. You can also contact and find professional groomers to help you with the activity. The risk factors and genetic mutations in the parent breeds affect the disposition of the offspring. The Australian Shepherd parent breed is relatively healthier than the other dog breeds. It suffers less skin, coat, and bone problems. It manifests as spontaneous bleeding. Dogs could have internal bleeding in muscles or joints. Hip and elbow dysplasia: This malformation can spontaneously occur to the dog. It leads to joint inflammation at a young dog age. The cartilage in the hip socket is greatly affected in this disease. This degenerative disease ultimately ends in blindness. Epilepsy: It is a serious neurologic disorder that can be triggered by infections and injury. This may have structural or idiopathic causes. For German Shepherd crossed with Australian Shepherd dogs, this health issue has an idiopathic origin. Collie Eye Anomaly: This is a group of eye issues that may be minor to fatal. It may cause unilateral or bilateral disturbances. If you established enough rapport with the breeder, you can contact him more about the proper management of the dogs. Professional breeders will gladly inform you about the health hazards, genetic and non-genetics, and other things you need to watch for. They made the effort to subject the parent dogs and the offspring to screening tests. A regular appointment with a reliable veterinarian can help you a lot in maintaining the health of the German Shepherd Australian Shepherd mix dogs. You should know exactly what to expect once you bring your new pooch home for the first time. This combination can be challenging at times but is also almost always rewarding when all is said and done. This beautiful mixed breed also goes by the names Bullydoodle, Bully Poo, Bulldogdoodle, and Bulldogpoo. It will bark when someone comes to the door but quickly accept the visitors once welcomed inside. The English Boodle has an inherent willingness to please and loves attention, so owners will usually find their dogs standing right by their side. Most English Boodles are very energetic when they are young and need lots of outdoor exploration and playtime. As they get older, these dogs tend to slow down and mellow out a little, even though they will never entirely lose their spunkiness. Are These Dogs Good for Families? These dogs will spend all day playing in the yard with kids young and old. This mixed breed is tolerant of things like ear tugs and rough-housing, and gentle enough to learn how to walk on a leash with even younger kids. They thrive in multi-pet households that may include dogs, cats, or a combination of both. But these dogs will also enjoy their lives as an only pet if they get plenty of human attention. You should know how to take specific care of an English Boodle before you even consider adopting one so you know exactly what will be expected of you. This breed does well when it comes to agility training. Daily brushing is a necessity to keep mats from developing and knots from forming. Some English Boodles have such long coats that they need to be trimmed on a regular basis. Regular baths will keep the coat from getting smelly over time. Minor Conditions. A post shared by Pepper mydoggiepepper Appearance Boodle puppies differ in size, shape, and features, depending on the genes they inherit from their parents. Height and weight Since English Boodles are a mix of these two breeds, their size and weight will vary depending on which parent breeds they take after more. They are usually small or medium-sized dogs, standing between 12 and 16 inches tall. Their weight can range from 15 to 50 pounds, and they have a stocky and boxy body, regardless of their size. Coat When it comes to coat types, a Bulldog Poodle mix can take after either parent breed or be a mix of both. Their coat can be short-to-medium in length, and curly, wavy, or straight in texture. A Boodle puppy may be red, fawn, black, or white. Some puppies may also develop gray, silver, or blue coats. The shades will differ, and the coat may be solid, with a single color, or have brindle patterns in two or more colors. These dogs are loyal companions for children, though you should be careful when a large Bulldog Poodle mix is around a toddler. They are also great around other pets! English Bulldog English Bulldogs are known for their kind, easy-going, and loving nature. Despite their sometimes intimidating appearance, English Bulldogs are not aggressive and can even become friends with strangers. Keep in mind that English Bulldogs require regular exercise and grooming to stay healthy and happy. They may not be the most active dogs, but they still need daily walks and playtime. Also, their wrinkles need to be cleaned regularly to prevent skin irritation and infections. Overall, the English Bulldog is a fun dog breed that pet lovers all over the world adore! Poodle The Poodle is an intelligent, sophisticated, playful, and obedient dog. These dogs absolutely love to interact with humans and are playful with their family members. Their eagerness to please their humans, combined with their intelligence, makes them quick learners who can easily pick up tricks and training. Could the parent breeds of the Bulldog Poodle mix look any more different from each other? What kind of dog is the result of a stout English Bulldog crossed with an elegant Poodle? How Big is the Poodle x Bulldog? Boodle size ranges hugely because they combine a medium sized, chunky build breed with a potential of three different sizes of lighter build dog, the Poodle! Poodle size Poodles come in three different sizes: standard , miniature, and toy. The standard is the largest and oldest type, and the smaller Poodles were bred down in size. The size of your Bulldog Poodle mix will depend on what size Poodle was used in the cross. Poodles can range from 4 pounds in weight and 10 inches in height at the shoulder to 70 pounds and over 15 inches in height. All Poodles share an elegant and dignified bearing. Bulldog size The English Bulldog has a much stouter and stockier build than the Poodle. They stand between 14 and 15 inches tall and weigh between 40 and 50 pounds. Full grown Boodle size The size of your adult Boodle will depend on the size of the parents. A Bulldog crossed with a larger Poodle will generally result in a medium sized dog, weighing around 40 to 55 pounds and standing 14 to 16 inches tall. A Bulldog crossed with one of the smaller sized Poodles can produce a small to medium sized dog, with a weight range of about 15 to 40 pounds and standing around 12 to 14 inches in height. Remember that any mixed breed dog can favor one parent breed over the other or might be a blend. Poodle Cross Bulldog Coat and Grooming The Bulldog and the Poodle breeds have different types of coats, leading to a wide variety of coat possibilities in the mix. Poodle Coat Poodles have a dense and curly coat that comes in a wide range of solid colors. Many Poodle owners take their dogs to professional groomers to trim and maintain their coats, because at-home grooming can be time consuming. They are low shedders, which makes them a popular choice for people with allergies. Bulldog Coat Bulldogs have a short, smooth coat. The coat comes in a wide range of colors and markings. Popular coat patterns include brindle and piebald. Bulldog Poodle Mix Coats As with size, coat type and color can favor one parent breed over the other or be any combination of the two. Many Bulldog Poodle mixes have a short to medium length coat. The texture can be straight, curly, or wavy. Colors and patterns range widely, since there are so many possibilities in the parent breeds. A Bulldog mixed with a Poodle should be a low to medium shedder, usually requiring a bit less grooming than a purebred Poodle. Be sure to spend time around them before taking one home if you have pet allergies. Both parent breeds have appealing personality traits, which should be reinforced with good socialization and training. The English Bulldog is very calm, loving, and loyal. Poodles are known for their keen intelligence, trainability, and active and alert nature. The Bulldog Poodle mix can be a good choice for families with children and other household pets. They require a moderate level of activity and can make good apartment pets. Always use positive reinforcement training techniques. Boodle personality tends to lead to them being very attached to their owners, and they may experience separation anxiety if left alone for long periods of time. Bulldog Mix Poodle Health As we mentioned earlier, potential owners of a Bulldog Poodle mix should be aware of the genetic health problems of both parent breeds. A Boodle puppy could inherit any condition that comes from either of their lines. Poodle Health Issues There are a significant number of genetic health conditions that can occur in the Poodle. Poodles, especially standard Poodles, can be prone to canine idiopathic epilepsy. Affected dogs will require medication to control seizures throughout their lives. Toy and miniature Poodles have inherited health conditions, as well. Among the most common is a degenerative eye disease called progressive retinal atrophy. Also joint problems are often found in small dog breeds luxating patella and Legg-Calve-Perthes disease. Bulldog Health Issues We said earlier that many veterinarians are cautioning potential Bulldog owners about the health problems associated with the breed. These problems are due to a lack of genetic diversity and the inherent physical structure of the dog. Flat-muzzled brachycephalic breeds, like the Bulldog, suffer from breathing, eye, and dental problems. The respiratory problems can be severe and even life-threatening. Is the Bulldog Poodle Mix Healthier? Given the significant health issues of the parent breeds, is it possible to find a healthy Bulldog Poodle mix puppy? Mixed breed dogs can inherit the genetic health problems of both parent breeds, but there are ways to minimize the risk that your puppy will inherit a serious genetic disease. The cross breeding of two purebred dogs to create a so-called designer mixed breed is an increasingly popular trend among dog lovers. The Poodle is an especially popular choice for mixed breeds, both for its intelligence and personality, as well as for its reputation as being a hypoallergenic dog breed. Health of Crosses Many people assume that mixed breed dogs are healthier than purebred dogs. This is a concept in genetics called hybrid vigor. Both the English Bulldog and the Poodle have some serious inherited health problems that can be passed down to a mixed breed puppy. Will mixing a Bulldog with a Poodle improve the health of the cross? Bulldog Poodle Mix Puppies Always choose a Boodle breeder who health tests their dogs for genetic disorders. There are two kinds of tests you should ask about: DNA testing and physical veterinary exams. There are DNA tests for some of the health conditions found in both breeds. Other health problems, especially those of the joints and eyes, can be detected with physical exams. Your breeder should provide you with the results of all health testing. Most will also offer clients some form of contract or health guarantee. Never buy a Bulldog Poodle mix puppy from an online ad or at a retail pet store. Make sure that you meet the Bulldog parent. A Healthier Pup? And these dogs may well have a lot of them. Fortunately, there are some other lovely Poodle mixes out there you might like to consider. This is especially important for Boodles because their activity levels change a lot between puppy and adulthood. Bulldogs are prone to being overweight and can have a lot of health problems as a result. If your Boodle takes after their Bulldog parent, weight could become a problem for them as well. English Boodle puppies are very energetic and will need lots of play and walks on their daily schedule. As they move into adulthood, Boodles will become more mellow. Adult Boodles will still need daily exercise to stay fit but not to the same level they did as puppies. They can quickly become overheated and can suffer from heatstroke. Be careful exercising your Boodle in the heat if they take after their Bulldog parent more than the Poodle. Poodles are one of the most intelligent breeds of dogs and are very eager to learn, a trait often passed on to English Boodles as well. Minor Conditions. Are you looking to buy or adopt an English Boodle? Want to know more about its characteristics and whether it is the right pet for you? Then read on, this guide is for you! Bulldog Poodle mixes are a cross or hybrid dog breed obtained through the mating of a Standard or Miniature Poodle with an English Bulldog. To learn about their origins, let us briefly study the parent breeds. English Bulldog English Bulldogs were bred for the gory sport of bull-baiting. Later on, the bloody sport was banned and the breed almost became extinct. Thankfully, the efforts of some Bulldog lovers revived it back. The breed remains one of the most popular dog breeds and two American Presidents and several celebrities have been its proud owners. Poodle Poodles are available in three sizes which are recognised by the AKC. These are Miniature, Toy, and Standard Poodles. The Poodle breed was first developed in Germany to assist duck hunters to retrieve fowl from the water. Today, they are considered among the most trainable dog breeds and consistently rank in the list of the top 10 most intelligent dogs. Poodles are ideal for crossing and creating designer dog sets because of their intelligence, sweet nature, hypoallergenic coats, and also their high-trainability. They also have great longevity. When combined with the English Bulldog which is known for its loving nature and calm disposition, you get a sweet dog that is willing to take on any training challenges. The Poodle also helps overcome the structural issues brachycephalic noses of the English Bulldog, creating a healthy designer breed. English Boodles have a distinguished look unlike other Doodle breeds hybrid dogs having one Poodle parent. They are small-to-medium-sized dogs and their size depends on the Poodle variety the breeder uses in their breeding program. English Boodles usually measure between inches .Many of these dogs are white, black, fawn, tan, or brindle-coloured. English Boodles could inherit the short legs and tail of the Bulldog or they might develop the slender build and curly coat of the Poodle. In short; there can be a lot of variation in these dogs since there is no set standard. Being hybrid dogs, they are not recognised by the traditional clubs that set these standards. If you want a smaller non-shedding dog, you can always ask the breeder for puppies obtained by breeding an F1 first generation Boodle back to a Toy or Mini Poodle. Fewer Poodle genes will result in a thick, short coat like the English Bulldog. Are Boodles Hypoallergenic? There is no yes or no answer to the question — is the English Boodle hypoallergenic? The answer depends on complex canine genetics. In the case of the English Bulldog, its coat sheds seasonally and it is not hypoallergenic. Therefore, a first-generation or F1-English Boodle puppy cross of purebred English Bulldog and purebred Poodle may or may not be hypoallergenic as it could have genes of both parents. However, if you have an F1-B generation English Boodle puppy a first generation English Boodle crossed back to a Poodle , then the chances are that their puppies will shed a lot less. A Word of Caution About Hypoallergenic Doodle Dogs The reason why Doodles became so popular in the first place is that they were marketed as hypoallergenic dogs. Poodles and Poodle crossbreeds generally shed little, which, in turn, reduces the amount of dander released in your home. The dander is what is responsible for itchy eyes and runny noses that allergy sufferers are familiar with. So, if you have pet allergies, you might want to test out a few dogs you can be around, without feeling sick. The best breeders conduct DNA tests for shedding genes and only breed dogs that shed minimally. This too can reduce your chances of suffering from dog allergy symptoms. English Boodles get their intelligence from their Poodle genes and eagerness to please, and their loving, calm and affectionate natures from their English Bulldog parent. English Boodles are the epitome of sweetness. They get along well with everyone and work well in any type of home. They are a pleasure to be around. They love being a part of the family activities and will make everyone smile with their silly antics. English Boodles are also calm and cuddly. Unlike the English Bulldog which has restrictions on the amount of exercise it can get owning to its brachycephalic nose, the Boodle can go for long walks and play for prolonged periods. They are gentle and friendly dogs that will make great companions for kids. However, their need to be around people and their overly-friendly nature means that they are not great as guard dogs. Also, if left alone for too long, they tend to develop separation anxiety. This can lead to destructive habits if the dog is not trained. However, it also comes with a downside. These dogs need plenty of mental stimulation. They also need you to come up with innovative ways of training them as Bulldogs can be stubborn. Therefore, a Boodle owner will have to think of creative ways to engage with their pet. Play-based training that utilises positive reinforcement is the best training method for poodle crossbreeds. Boodles mostly do well with other pets but will need some socialisation. Once they are socialised, they will welcome the company of another pet — including pets like cats. If not trained in the skill of independence , they are likely to need someone to keep them company. Once you opt to bring home an English Boodle, you will want to become active. These dogs need at least twice-daily walks of minutes along with a game of fetch indoors or in the yard. But exercise it you must, because, without it, these pups can get bored, depressed, and destructive. Finally, if you are still on the fence about whether the English Boodle is right for you, then understand that these companion dogs will brighten your life. They are family-friendly dogs and when you buy one from a good breeder, it also might shed less and keep your home free of pet fur. If you have decided you want a dog, then the English Boodle can be an excellent choice. How Much is an English Boodle? The price of the English Bulldog-Poodle mix is not fixed.
