Not every dog we select with breeding intentions actually makes the "health cut" to breed. The pricing reflects the increasing costs associated with health testing parents, and generally that is also often reflected in using good, health tested stud dogs. If you applied in previous years and are on our accepted wait list, the pricing listed at that time will be honored, unless a suitable pup of their gender selected was offered from a previous litter and then refused by the buyer. This allows the buyer who wasn't able to receive a pup from a previous litter due to not enough pups being whelped to carry forward their deposit and the price does not increase in the subsequent litter to them. The deposit tax will be added to the final billing as deposits do not need to be taxed prior to the litter whelping, due to the potential for refund if no pups are produced. This also allows time to determine the state sales tax location, if pick-up is in Minnesota or shipping to a different state. Minnesota sales tax for picking up at our location is 6. The remaining amount of the purchase price including applicable sales tax , less any deposit made, is due at the time of pick-up or the pup's age of eight weeks, unless other arrangements are agreed upon in advance. The remaining amount for puppies that will be shipped is due by the pup's age of six 6 weeks in order for Floden Farm to make travel arrangements, purchase crate if necessary, and schedule vet travel certification for those pups that will fly. We accept credit, debit or check payments via Paypal's secure site, or payment by check. If paying check by regular mail, we need time for the check to clear. Cash is also acceptable at pick-up. Shipping Options In-Cabin by Breeder or Puppy Nanny Shipping Option While we prefer our clients to visit us in person, either Jenn, a family member, or close friend of ours could serve as a flight nanny for you, if shipping by air is desired. A crate would not be provided with this option as we can reuse the sherpa bag for in-cabin flights. Please inquire more about this option and we can calculate the estimated cost for puppy's flight fee, veterinary travel certification, round trip travel of the nanny, nanny fee, and overnight stay if needed for our flight nanny. Shipping fees are non-refundable and must be paid before the puppy's sixth week of age in order for Floden Farm to have adequate time to make shipping arrangements for your puppy's delivery. At this time, air cargo shipping options are unavailable due to Covid. Should cargo shipping options become available, we would be able to offer that to our clients as well. When making arrangements, be sure to allow time for going back through security if returning the same day. Oftentimes a family will make their visit a trip, flying or driving into Fargo ND or MSP airport,renting a car from airport to Floden Farm and enjoying a hotel and then returning the next afternoon after pick-up. Meet in Minnesota Ground Transportation If you need us to meet you along I in Minnesota, we are happy to do so if schedule permits. We also work full-time jobs on top of our puppy hobby. We would bill round-trip business mileage in that situation. Spaying or neutering is not required, however any offspring produced are not AKC registerable unless the difference in price is paid to change to Full AKC Registration. Both types of AKC registration allow dogs to participate in AKC venues such as hunt testing, field trialing, agility, obedience, and others. At 7 weeks we temperament test the puppies, begin making puppy picks with each buyer, and vet check them. Preference is given to Full AKC Registration buyers, as their extra pricing helps us provide genetic testing for their preferred gender. We don't place breeders in upper picks alone because of breeding. If a breeder also shows or partakes in a performance venue, higher consideration is given to that breeder because they strive to prove their dogs. That said, we are happy to work with new breeders and provide what knowledge we have learned over the years to help them breed quality puppies. The breeder and stud owner always has top choices of any male or female. This is why we continue to breed - to further each generation. Preference is also given to those who have history of competing in AKC venues that will further our parent dogs to Outstanding Dam or Sire by gaining titles. Next preference to those who intend to compete in AKC venues for the same reason. Pet homes are not cull homes. Purchase a pet because of the litter and parents. A highly active competition home may not be the best fit for a pet puppy that may occasionally hunt. At 8 weeks of age puppies are able to go to their new homes. Full AKC registrations are a decision that will be made on a case by case basis. Puppy selections are made on the day of puppy pick up. We believe this is a very big step for most puppy-parents, so to be fair we want you to have the opportunity to watch all the puppies as they grow bigger and develop their little personalities. Selecting your puppy at eight weeks will also allow you to better identify size and coloration if that is your preference. You will raise your puppy with the confidence it is recognized by the American Kennel Club as a purebred Golden Retriever. As a consumer, you are spending a lot of money on a puppy and there is great value in knowing your breeder has followed all the criteria needed to fulfill the requirements set forth by AKC. This information will be mailed to your home, usually within weeks. Full AKC Registration is exactly the same as the limited registration, with one difference: should you decide, as your puppy gets older, you want to breed it with another fully registered Golden Retriever, you will be able to register the litters with the American Kennel Club.

The difference between the two Bulldogs is the that the Victorian is larger in size, but lighter in weight, and has a longer face compared to their English cousins are stockier. Size They are a medium sized dog, with males weighing between 65 to 75 lbs and the females weighing from 55 to 65 lbs. Colors These dogs have solid white, red, brindle or fawn coats. Victorian Bulldog puppies are playful and rambunctious, but mellow out quickly into calm, content adults. They are more than content to play with anyone if encouraged, but, they are also more than happy to just be by your side. This dog can be rather lazy, and would love nothing more than to spend his day eating and sleeping. Getting your dog up and going can be a challenge, but once up, they have an incredible zest for life that will make every walk an adventure. With people, Victorian Bulldogs can be very social dogs, and love to meet new people. However, caution should be taken with unfamiliar dogs or other animals, as they have been known to react negatively to unfamiliar pets. With good socialisation from a young age, these dogs can make wonderful family pets. These dogs do very well in family environments, as they are fantastic with young children and will fit right in with your family. Their stocky build is deceptive, they do well in smaller spaces and are also suited for apartment life, and do not need a lot of yard space to run and play in due to their lazy temperament. Although this dog is renowned for its patience, and generally will be more than happy to let children climb all over them, it will still have a breaking point. If you plan to regularly have your pooch around young children, be sure to teach your them boundaries and how to treat the dog with care and respect. How to Train A Victorian Bulldog These dogs are very intelligent animals and because of their temperament respond very well to basic dog training. Being a bull breed, most people think that dominance training is the way forwards with these dogs. However, the exact opposite is true. Due to their loving and loyal temperament, Victorian Bulldogs do not respond well to any form of dominance or force-based training and should only be trained with positive reinforcement. This breed responds very well to clicker training — as a form of positive reinforcement. This may be something you want to try with your pooch. Positive reinforcement will go a long way to training a well-rounded dog. These dogs love to please, therefore training your dog , with a food-based reward, will help to make training more encouraging for them given their sometimes stubborn nature. Caring For A Bulldog Bulldogs are quite intolerant to heat, and although Victorian Bulldogs fair better than their flatter-face cousins, they are still susceptible to overheating. Be sure to be aware of the temperature and try to keep time spent outside and play to a minimum on hotter days. Exercise Requirements As a medium size dog, they require only 40 minutes of exercise daily — not like the minutes required by Husky Lab Mixes! This can be split into two walks a day and spread out over morning and evening. Some sort of exercise is required; be it a walk or yard play, as getting them active every day is extremely beneficial for you and their health and wellbeing. Yard play may also be beneficial for this dog. Old English Bulldogs love to play tug of war and these guys are no different. Any toy that you give a bulldog should be durable, as these dogs love to chew. Try enticing your dog with a tug rope to engage those muscles and encourage a full body workout. Grooming and Shedding These dogs are average shedders, shedding lightly throughout the year and heavily twice a year with the seasons. They will need light grooming with a fine bristle comb. This pooch is not a fan of water and so you may only wish to bathe him when necessary. When bathing, it is important to make sure you run a damp cloth under all their folds of skin and properly dry those areas too. When grooming, it is also beneficial to clean their ears and eyes to prevent infection. You may also want to brush their teeth to account for their doggie breath. Feeding and Diet Like most Bulldogs, this dog does very well on a raw diet too. To feed your dog a raw diet requires a basic understanding of nutrition, and therefore is not suitable for inexperienced owners. It may be an idea to consult a raw feeding company or you veterinarian for advice if you wish to feed your dog this way. Nostrils should be large and wide; black preferred. The teeth canines should be set wide apart and large. Eyes from the front are set low and wide apart. Eyes should neither be bulging nor sunken. Ears are rose or button; ears should not be erect or cropped. The most defining part of the breed is that it should be as great in circumference as possible circumference should be equal to height, more superior bulls will have greater circumference of head than height. Circumference of head of females will not be as large as males. Cheeks should be well defined, showing power; definition of cheeks to be considered by age of Bulldogge this feature gains more definition with age ; 2 to 3 years final maturity. Too much attention should not be placed on this feature in a young Bulldogge. Jaws should be as follows: lower jaw projecting further than upper jaw which will give the jaw an upward turn. The bite should be square. Tusk Teeth : Canines should be wide apart with smaller teeth set in between canines. Lips should be loose and heavy without being sloppy , hanging below jaw, should be full in appearance. Nose must lay well back, large, broad and moist; perfectly black preferred; partly colored or Dudley noses are not preferred but are not a disqualification. Eyes are set as far apart as possible; eyes should be large without bulging; eyes should be perfectly set equal on each side from the middle of the skull. The ears should be rose shaped short, small and fold more to side or button semi-pricked with forward fold. The stop is the indentation between the eyes. The stop should be deep and wide, it should extend to the skull; this feature gives the skull a square appearance. The deepness of the stop gives more definition as to how the eyes and ears are set. Thick, strong and arched, with loose skin forming dewlap on each side, the neck should be short, not having a long appearance at all. Bulldogges should have what is called a bull-neck thick, muscular and Short , not a goose-neck overly long or little muscle , which would show no strength or shape. The shoulders should be broad and deep. The chest should be well sprung and deep. A rise to the rear is desired as long as it is not in excess, making the symmetry of the dog suffer. Forelegs should be muscular, straight and wide apart; a slight bow is not a fault unless it is in excess with elbows turning outwards. The Bulldogge should be up on his pastern and the pastern should be strong. Hind legs should be muscled showing power, hocks slightly bent, feet round and compact. Chest is as wide and deep as possible with ribcage in proportion. Ribs should be round. Loins should be powerful with tuck-up that does not take away from the cobby appearance. Either straight, turning down, or screwed. The tail should not be carried over the back. There are no deductions for a docked tail, as it has no bearing on the quality of the dog. Hind legs should be higher than the front legs without exaggeration, they should turn out at stifle knee without excess which causes hock to turn inward slightly; the feet are longer than the front feet and are compact. Forelegs are shorter than the hind legs; forelegs should be powerful and can be straight or bowed without excess. The forelegs should be turned out a little at the shoulder so that the body can swing. Should be straight at the pastern, feet should be large, moderately round. The toes should be split without being splayed. There are no deductions for tight toes. Solid Black is an undesirable color. Blue is not an original color of the Bulldogge, but is allowable. When judging the color should not play a factor in the quality of the dog; the color of the bulldogge should not be considered except in cases of equal merit. The undesirables would then take second. The coat is short and close; it is very smooth and silky to the touch. Temperament The Olde Victorian Bulldogge is a loyal, well-tempered, steady dog. He gets along well with other family pets when raised with them and loves children. He is brave and protective. He saves his deep bark for really important matters. He is large and strong. If he senses his owners are not as strong minded as himself he can become stubborn so strong leadership is advised. As a puppy, they will chew everything they can find. The Bulldogge should be steady, loyal and true with a dependable nature. He should be bold without aggression. The objective in training this dog is to achieve pack leader status. It is a natural instinct for a dog to have an order in their pack. When we humans live with dogs , we become their pack. The entire pack cooperates under a single leader. Lines are clearly defined and rules are set. Because a dog communicates his displeasure with growling and eventually biting, all other humans MUST be higher up in the order than the dog. The humans must be the ones making the decisions, not the dogs. That is the only way your relationship with your dog can be a complete success. Height, Weight Males: Height 18 - .Entropian is rare but because of wrinkles can occur. Cherry eye is also rare but can occur as well. These dogs are inactive indoors and should at least have a small yard. They handle the heat and cold weather really well, but when temperatures are extreme, shade and fresh water are recommended. I took the hemostat and pinched the umbilical cord about 2 inches from the base of the pups belly then cut the cord rather than let Raven chew it off. I kept the hemostat on the cord for about 2 minutes to let it clout. The umbilical cord dries up quickly and then within a day or 2 it falls off. Raven was a good mama and took care of her poops. Puppy eyes and ears are closed at this stage and puppies army crawl around the whelping box looking for a teat to suckle. We did everything we could to make sure our pups stayed warm by adding a watt heat lamp to the whelping box and portable heating unit in the puppy room. As I mentioned Raven stayed in the whelping box most of week 1 and of course… the puppy piles! One thing I learned is if I had a puppy on my lap then do not let Raven lick those areas or be prepared for a little accident on your lap. While caring for Raven and her litter Raven was really blowing out her coat that first week, but as time went on it slowed down. I heard from other friends this is common and that Raven blew out her coat much less than other mama dogs.
