She will happily curl up in my pillow but when I start crawling in bed she gets out and on the floor into her bed. When she is out side alone she will never bark unless someone is over the fence but if I yell her name once she will stop barking. She never barks in the house. Unless she is in my room and hears a different voice in the house but I can either say stop or let her out to run to the stranger just to smell but she really could care less about the person. She hates being smothered by strangers only my family and I and a couple friends. She hates when strangers stand close behind her. She doesn't mind dogs as long as they are smaller then her. She hates when a dog is over the fence. A Boxer came on our property once and she attacked it. I broke it up very fast I am aware of the danger, I am a vet tech. She follows me everywhere. She loves my family but when I'm there she will only listen to me. I don't walk her on a leash because she will follow me anywhere. She will run back and forth barking and growling. And doesn't like strangers coming in the back yard. Learned that the hard way with the gardeners. We have a game I chase her and she maneuvers around the trees but I stop and run she will run and bite my hands or shorts or shirts and bark and growl but if I turn around and chase her she will freak and run then crouch and let off a good bark, but once I say Lilly no more she will immediately stop and come to me so I can kiss her. When I feed her I put the food in front of her but she will not eat until she sits and I shake her paw. She will drop a treat out of her mouth if I tell her to. She is very loyal to me, she knows I love her and I adopted her. She was probably 2 years old at that time so I am guessing she is around 13 now. She was very energetic, smart, wouldn't eat from her bowl until given permission, loved being with my grandchildren and me always. Her worst habit as I discovered early on was being aggressive to other dogs which probably was a result from her long term confinement at the pound. Now at her age she is arthritic and moves pretty slow.I feed her an excellent diet and walk her twice daily to maintain muscle and keep her mobile. We are bonded as much as any human and dog could ever be in this life. She is the best and I pray every day that I can be the person she thinks I am. Plumbing problems Some puppies are born with physical malformations affecting their bladder and associated structures. This may mean that urine leaks out without the puppy being aware or make them prone to frequent bladder infections. If your vet suspects this may be the problem, then they will usually recommend an ultrasound scan or x-rays to examine the internal organs for problems. Too much drinking means… Another reason for urinating a lot, especially if the volumes of urine are large, is that your puppy is drinking too much water. Sometimes this can be a behavioural problem. But it is important to rule out more serious conditions that may be making them drink excessively. Or have hormonal problems including diabetes that mean they are unable to make concentrated urine. Your vet will usually ask you to measure the amount of water your pet drinks in a day. They may then recommend tests such as a blood test, urine test or ultrasound scan to narrow down the list of possible causes. Once you have consulted your vet and they are happy that there is no underlying medical cause for the excessive peeing then it is worth looking at possible behavioural reasons why your puppy may be urinating more than usual. Attention seeking can be one common issue Frequently asking to urinate can be a pretty effective way to get your attention for a playful puppy. No one wants to risk an accident, so you are almost guaranteed to get up from what you are doing to attend to their needs. This behaviour can be improved by ensuring you and your puppy have lots of positive and stimulating interactions throughout the day. Mix things up with walks, play sessions and general fuss, and ensure they are being challenged mentally as well as physically with training and puzzle toys. Urinating when they are scared is another common puppy problem This often stems from a general level of anxiety. It should never be punished as this is only likely to make matters worse. Frightened puppies need lots of reassurance and positive reinforcement, gently building up their confidence. They should be provided with a safe place where they can retreat to if scared. If the behaviour seems to be getting worse rather than better it may be sensible to consider speaking to a qualified behaviourist who can help you with strategies to reduce their anxiety. Peeing from excitement is not unusual in puppies The good news is that most of them will grow out of it. Never punish them, and work on positive toilet training methods and things should improve given time. It is also worth making sure toilet training is up to scratch Use lots of positive reinforcement and avoid punishing accidents. Ensure toilet trips are frequent enough for the age of your puppy and that they are given ample opportunity to relieve themselves, bearing in mind a garden or walk can provide lots of distractions away from the matter in hand! Puppy crates can be useful if your pup is to be left for short periods as they are less likely to urinate in their beds, reducing the chance of accidents. Excessive urination can be a very frustrating problem for a new puppy owner Always consult your vet to rule out medical causes. Never punish your puppy for accidents as this can make matters worse. Remember their bladders are still small and they are still learning what they should do. Positive reinforcement is by far the best method of training and with time and consistency most peeing problems can be overcome.

Mr Vince initiated a petition calling on Bathurst Regional Council to reject the development of a "puppy farm", which has received more than signatures. He said NSW law was "toothless" when it came to puppy farms. An RSPCA spokeswoman said the organisation supported stronger protections around animal welfare and tougher penalties. Mr Grima said the types of dogs people want — a decision influenced by the size of their yards and lifestyles — are sometimes not found in pounds or shelters. Tough laws in Victoria The proposal for a dog breeding facility follows changes to Victorian laws in December that restrict the number of fertile females that dog breeders can keep and permit pet shops to only sell dogs and cats sourced from shelters, pounds or enrolled foster carers. Debra Tranter, a spokeswoman for animal welfare group Oscar's Law, which campaigned for the new laws in Victoria, said NSW legislation was "weak and ambiguous". She also criticised the enforcement of the law in NSW: "In NSW puppy factories are self-regulated and that has and still does fail animals. She said a NSW parliamentary inquiry had concluded that banning pet shop sales would result in less scrutiny of the pet industry without any reasonable expectation of improved animal welfare outcomes — findings criticised by animal welfare groups.
