No friendship or trusting environment exists when abuse and unfairness exist. Just like dealing with toddlers, correction and discipline are appropriate during or immediately after the wrongdoing. The pup's attention span is short. The Labradoodle most know why he is in trouble. Build trust by gently showing displeasure the first time you catch him misbehaving and remember to praise him for doing things right. Praise the pup for doing his business at the correct spot. That reaffirms his belief of where to do it and makes him happy that the owner is pleased. Labradoodles are loving and forgiving.
