New Feature 7 dapper hairstyles for your poodle Your poodle is an elegant dog that deserves to be taken care of with impeccable style. The poodle's coat is its most distinguishing feature, and it's essential to keep it looking its best. Grooming is key, and a good haircut can make all the difference! As your dog's fur grows out, it can become tangled and unruly, making for a frustrating appearance. Your poodle is an elegant dog that deserves to be taken care of with impeccable style. There are many different styles of haircuts a poodle can have, and it can be tough to decide which one is right for your pup. It can be hard to know where to start with so many options available. Don't worry; we're here to help! In this article, we'll take a look at seven trendy hairstyles your poodle can rock on his walk. The Lion Cut Let's start with one of the most popular poodle haircuts of all, the lion cut. Sometimes referred to as the "puppy cut," this hairstyle takes advantage of your poodle's long fur to give them a mane-like appearance. The dog's limbs are left hairless, except for a pompom around the tail, front and rear paws. A perfect look for poodles who want to show off their luxurious locks! This hairstyle will last a while since the short hairs on your poodle's face and body will help prevent matting. You should still brush your pup regularly to keep his coat clean and healthy! The Puppy Cut Another popular haircut for poodles and other small dogs like the Yorkshire Terriers is the "puppy cut. While the fur looks a little longer around the face, the haircut mimics a human infant rather than a furry animal. With this cut, your pup will feel extra comfortable as he goes about his day! While many owners opt for this style as it doesn't require as much maintenance as other cuts, it's easy to get tired of the same look over time. Your poodle will still need regular brushing to remove tangles and maintain his healthy coat. Teddy Bear Cut Do you love the look of a teddy bear? The teddy bear cut is another popular choice for poodle haircuts. It's an adorable style that looks kind of like your pup has a bushy mane! This technique leverages the poodle's tiny round eyes and creates the illusion of a furry face. The hair should be cut uniformly at mid-length with a rounded shape to the top of the head. It's important not to cut the body fur too short, as we need the poodle's curls to be seen clearly for this cut. The fur around your pup's paws is left untouched, so it appears thick and full, giving your poodle the appearance of having tiny bear paws! These cuts are extremely popular with older dogs who won't have to worry about frequent brushing or bathing. Summer Cut Although you want your poodle to look cute, you also want them to be comfortable! In the summer, it's hot and humid, and your pup will thank you for cutting his hair shorter. The summer cut is an excellent choice for those sweltering days. In this style, all of the hair on your poodle's body is trimmed very short, except for a small tuft around the tail and large pompoms around the legs. This style is easy to maintain and will help your pup stay comfortable in the summer heat. Dutch Cut Known for its frequent appearance in dog shows, the dutch cut is a great choice for poodles that want a unique look. This creates a "Mohawk" look that is sure to turn heads! The tail can also be left long or cut short to complement your pup's look. The face and paws are the only parts of the body shaved, so you get a little bit of extra grooming time! This cut requires regular brushing to keep your poodle's coat clean and tangle-free. English Saddle Cut The English saddle cut is a popular choice for poodles with longer coats. This haircut is similar to the dutch cut, but it explicitly leaves more hair on the top of your poodle's head. The face and legs are also shaved, but a little more fur is left on the body to create an overall rounded look for this cut. This cut is great-looking but will require regular brushing and bathing to prevent mats from forming. Short Cut This is a prevalent choice for poodles with shorter hair, as it is low-maintenance and easy to groom. In this style, all of the hair on your dog's body is trimmed short, except for the ears. The fur around his face and paws is also shaved short, giving your pup a clean, polished look. This style is perfect for owners who want their dogs to look neat and tidy with minimal effort! Although this style doesn't require as much grooming as other styles, it's still necessary to brush your poodle regularly as the fur grows back. Things To Know Before Grooming Your Poodle Now that you know a little bit about the different types of poodle haircuts, there are a few things to keep in mind before you get started. All poodles require regular brushing Regardless of the style of haircut you choose. Brushing helps to remove excess hair and keep your poodle's coat healthy. It also helps to stimulate blood flow to the skin, which is important for natural oil production. Be sure to give your pup a good bath before grooming him, It would be best to wash your dog too often, but bathing him before grooming will help remove loose fur and leave your poodle's coat soft and shiny. A lot of groomers also recommend giving your pup a good brush after bathing to remove any excess hair, as it can clog drains or just be tough to clean up. Grooming should be a fun experience for your dog Please don't force your poodle to do anything they don't want to! Teaching them that grooming is a positive, relaxing experience will help the process go by more quickly and smoothly. Start grooming early If your dog is still a puppy, it might be a good idea to introduce him to the grooming process early on. This will help him get used to the sights, sounds, and smells of a groomer's salon, and he'll be more likely to cooperate when it's time for his actual haircut. We recommend sending your dog to a professional groomer for his haircut. This will ensure that your pup gets the best possible cut and that you don't accidentally cut him too short or leave any bald patches. Most groomers offer various services, so be sure to ask what they include in their price. Generally, a groomer will begin by bathing your dog and then trimming his nails, cleaning his ears, and starting to cut the hair according to your specifications. The process will continue with a blow-dry, and then your pup will be ready for his final trim. Poodles are known to have a lot of hair, so it can take a long time to groom them completely. You should expect the process to take up to two hours or more. You should consider many factors when choosing a groomer, including experience, pricing, and location. Having such unique and versatile fur means there are countless poodle haircuts for you to choose from, and a professional groomer can give your poodle a makeover with a hairstyle that best matches her personality and lifestyle. With so many options available, learn how your poodle can look like anything from a plush toy to elegant royalty! Teddy Bear Cut The teddy bear cut is a popular trim for poodles and other long-haired breeds. With this look, your poodle has longer hair on her face for a soft, rounded "teddy bear" appearance, and the rest of the fur on her body is cut at a shorter, uniform length throughout. Talk about cuddly cuteness! Summer Cut Because poodles have a single coat, they can enjoy the luxury that comes with it: the summer cut. Known as one of the most low-maintenance poodle haircuts, the summer cut is a practical haircut option that keeps your poodle's fur short so she stays comfortable in hot weather. So if you're looking to cut your hair to beat the heat in the summer, you and your poodle can rock shorter hairdos together! Puppy Cut No matter your poodle's age, you can seemingly turn back time with the puppy cut. Also a popular choice among poodle parents, the puppy cut is a simple, natural-looking trim that leaves your dog with an evenly cut length, typically 1 to 2 inches, all over. This is a highly modifiable look, so consult your groomer for a length that best fits your and your dog's preference and lifestyle. Continental Cut The continental cut is a glamorous and traditional hairstyle often worn by poodle show dogs. With this look, your poodle's face, throat, feet, and part of the tail are shaved. This look is characterized by full hair on the rib cage and chest, pom poms of fur on the tail, ankles, and hips, as well as a banded topknot on the head. German Trim Looking for a haircut that looks fancy but not too fancy? The German trim uses the power of angles to give your poodle a sharp profile. The hair on your furry friend's legs is left long, while the hair on the body and ears is cut short. This is a great option not only if your poodle is more active but also if your pup is prone to ear infections or ear matting. Modern Cut The modern cut is an elegant hairstyle that combines aesthetics with your poodle's natural features. This cut keeps the hair on the body short, accentuating your poodle's shape. The fur on the head, ears, and tail is left longer to create a fluffy appearance. When your dog has such curly, coarse locks, you may wonder how many trips to the groomer you and your poodle may be making. Poodles and poodle-crosses also go through a coat change in the first year of life, so they need to be groomed more often," says Danna Alexander, owner of Prestige Dog Grooming School. To keep mats and tangles at bay, it's best to brush your poodle at least two to three times a week. Toy poodle haircuts aren't off limits for miniature and standard poodles, just as standard poodle haircuts aren't off limits for miniature and toy poodles. While any poodle can sport any style, there may be common options you'd like to choose from. Because there are various names for different types of poodle haircuts, make sure to bring your groomer a photo of the haircut you'd love your pooch to have. Was this page helpful? This will be good practice for later on — for both of you! Yes, haircuts are essential for Poodles. Their thick, long, curly coats are prone to tangling and trapping debris. When will my Poodle puppy need haircuts? Then, at around four months old, they will shed their puppy coats and start to grow out their rougher adult coats. Frequency As a general rule, Poodles should have their coats clipped every weeks once their adult coats grow out, whatever your desired length. This is because they grow so quickly and can become matted just as fast! What equipment should I use? There are three main types of dog grooming scissors; straight scissors, curved scissors, and thinning shears, and they all perform slightly differently. Straight grooming scissors are a multi-task tool, they have straight blades for general, basic grooming, creating straight lines in the coat, and adding the finishing touches to haircuts. Curved dog grooming shear has a curved blade that can be used to fine-tune and shape specific areas of the coat, such as the paws and hindquarters. Thinning shears have a cutting edge on one blade and teeth on the other, and there are also double thinners that have teeth on both blades. They are designed to remove lots of hair in even sections for a natural finish, and they can also be used to blend out the harsh lines from clippers and texturize the coat. Or, if you just need something for the occasional touch-up between visits to the groomer, a simple pair of electrical motor clippers will do just fine. Electric motor clippers are also good for keeping short coats short. You should also be aware of the types of blades that come with clippers. The higher the number of the blade, the more hair that it will remove. Or, you can get guards that fit a single blade to customize the length, which is a lot more convenient. Start by showing them the equipment and getting them used to the sight and sound of it before you cut any hair. Reward them just for being around it and then try cutting a small section of hair. If they react well, reward them again, and then do another section. Keep rewarding them as you go and again after the haircut is finished. Do it in a well-lit, comfortable part of the home that your pup can stand up in. Once you get them into a routine — keep it up! Work your way down the legs first, then from the neck to the hindquarters, or vice versa, and then the tail. Take care with the feet, underside, and head, shielding their eyes from falling fur. Use long strokes and go from the neck down to the back legs. How to deal with grooming anxiety If your pup is afraid of the scissors or clippers, take it really slowly and try to make it an enjoyable experience. You can do this by breaking up the haircut into smaller sessions to make it less stressful and taking breaks in between each one. Give your dog lots of praise and a reward every time you take a break and ask another family member to comfort them during the haircut. You can start brushing your Poodle from any age. To brush them, simply go in the direction of hair growth using short strokes. Hold the fur at the base with your free hand to remove knots, and use a mat remover for any stubborn mats. Bathing a Poodle puppy As for bathing, you should give your Poodle pup their first proper bath at months old to help them shed their puppy coat, unless they get seriously dirty before that. However, you can give your pup a bath any time after weeks of age to get them used to the sensation, but avoid overbathing them, as this will strip the fur of its natural oils and make it dry and brittle. Once they have their adult coats, your Poodle pup will need a bath once a month. You can even buy shampoo that is designed especially for Poodle coats. To give your Poodle a bath, lather up their wet fur with the shampoo, massage it in, leave it for as long as directed on the bottle, and rinse thoroughly. Follow up with conditioner if necessary. Which health problems are common in Labradors? For prevention, acquire your pups from a reputable breeder that cares about the welfare of your pups. With this, ask about necessary screenings and tests. Hip dysplasia Hip dysplasia is a condition resulting from abnormal formation of the hip socket which causes the hip to deteriorate, says Purina. So, how do we spot this? Unfortunately, this condition can lead to arthritis in the future — so, we suggest screening your Labrador for this. Elbow dysplasia Elbow dysplasia is similar to the former - but with the elbow. Surgery may be necessary if the condition worsens to restore range of motion. Again, we recommend screening this on potential Labrador pups with an elbow scoring scheme. Arthritis Arthritis is a common health problem in Labradors. This is a result of their size, and it puts a strain on their joints. It can be caused by trauma to the neck or throat — or even hypothyroidism. Unfortunately, your Lab puppy is more at risk of this disease, and they may gain weight as a result. As well as this, your Labrador may lose their fur, experience lethargy and stay away from the cold. We recommend a slow feeder dog bowl to help them eat calmly. After all, obesity is a serious health issue with this breed and can lead to other issues. Common in larger breed dogs, this condition can cause sight loss over time. Specifically, Purina claims that Labradors are prone to an inherited variation, known as rod-cone degeneration, which can be fatal. Though an endearing element of their appearance, Purina claims that this breed is more susceptible to ear infections. For example, Tricuspid valve dysplasia TVD is a common issue in Labradors, which mainly affects male dogs from birth. In severe cases, this can lead to heart failure. But, most dogs with mild TVD can live happily. Once they reach eight weeks, changing to dry kibble food is best. We recommend feeding a Labrador puppy dry kibble for the first months before changing to an adult food type. But to remain healthy, owners should know what to feed them. Dog owners should feed a Labrador puppy dry food kibble , wet food, or fresh human food, depending on their budget and lifestyle. There are many options for food for dogs, and it can become challenging to determine which one is the best option for the dog. We have found the best options and listed them below. They help us with our daily tasks, are always there when we need them, and bring great joy to our lives. But, it is essential to ensure that our dog gets the best nutrition possible. They have a lot of energy and need to be fed accordingly. This includes the number of calories, food type, and the number of meals per day. We will explain all of these factors to help understand what to feed these precious animals. A Labrador puppy needs high-quality protein in their diet, so they should not be fed just any type of food. This is why we recommend three food options: dry food or kibble, fresh food or human food, or wet food. We prefer using dry food or kibble in most cases, but it is beneficial to start with wet food for young puppies and transition to dry food after a few weeks. Feeding a puppy human food is possible, but it can be more expensive and requires extra work to stick to a cleaner diet at this age. We have found it to be a healthier and more convenient option for our pets. It is also a good alternative to wet food which can be difficult to store and prepare. The benefits of dry dog food are that it offers the pup a balanced diet that doesn't need refrigeration. It also offers convenience because we can buy it in bulk and store it in the pantry or freezer until needed. Dry dog food is also less expensive than wet food, which is another benefit for pet owners. Fresh Food Human Food Feeding a Labrador puppy a diet of fresh, real human food is one of the best things to do for their health and well-being. It will not only make them happy and content, but it will also keep them healthy. This eliminates the guessing game; they are only fed real, natural foods with no unknown ingredients. However, it will become expensive and require regular cooking and preparation. Wet Food Wet food is recommended for Labrador puppies when they are first born and for the first weeks while they grow. It can be either raw or cooked. Wet food is a good source of water and minerals, which are important in the early days of their life to help them grow strong bones and teeth. It should be given to a puppy as soon as it comes out of its mother's womb, but it must not be given before it starts eating solid foods because it will cause diarrhea. Once they get more mature, moving to kibbles is best. It is known for its low level of grain and carbohydrate content and high protein content. Once they reach the week mark, there are better options to help the puppy continue to develop and grow. This food also helps with digestion and weight management. It also promotes proper bone growth with antioxidants and necessary nutrients like vitamin E. The kibble is also shaped strategically to help puppies who chew fast while helping with jaw growth. Overall, this is the best food option for a Labrador puppy. It is designed for all life stages, from puppies to seniors, and we love the benefits it provides to younger labs. This wet food provides the perfect balance of healthy proteins to support a dog's growth while providing the energy they need to maintain its fitness levels. This can be fed as a meal or as an occasional snack between meals. It has no artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or added sugar. It also contains omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, which are important for healthy skin and the dog's coat. They are large, strong, intelligent dogs that need a lot of attention, exercise, and food. These dogs can be picky eaters and usually need a lot of calories because of their size. This is especially true for puppies so they can grow properly and remain healthy due to their increased risk of health issues. Food Type Labrador puppies' most popular dog foods are kibbles and canned wet food. Kibbles are the best option for a puppy because they are easy to chew and digest. Canned food is a good option for pups who have difficulty chewing or digesting dry food and would benefit from a little moisture in their diet. The food type also depends on the owner. Dry food or kibbles are faster to prepare, while serving human food to a lab puppy requires extensive prep time. Nutritional Value When it comes to nutritional value, we want dog food that has high-quality protein and carbohydrates. This will help the puppy grow strong and healthy. This is why we need to take into account the nutritional value, quality of ingredients, and taste. It should be made with all-natural ingredients that are sourced from human-grade materials such as vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. A brand should have all the essential nutrients for a pup but still, be low in toxic elements and preservatives too. Dietary Restrictions Lastly, consider the dietary restrictions of the Labrador puppy before choosing a dog food option. This includes any allergies or health concerns for the dog and shopping for something that suits them best. For example, lab puppies must reach a certain carbohydrate and protein number daily. Labradors are also known to have allergies, especially young ones, so planning around this is crucial. A puppy should be fed at least three times a day, with a meal size that is appropriate for its body weight. They should also be given small daily snacks to keep them satisfied and happy, including treats to help with training. We feed our puppies the best that we can. We want to give them all the nutrients and vitamins they need. We also want to make sure that they are getting a balanced diet. The most important thing when feeding a Labrador puppy is that they get enough calories from their food every day. In the first weeks, the puppy should eat four smaller daily meals. Once the lab reaches three months, this can be changed to three meals per day. And after months, we recommend two meals per day. The key is not to change the calories much when the meals change but to simply modify the size of each meal to fit the total daily food amount. Feeding a Labrador puppy is not rocket science, but there are some things everybody should know about what to feed them and when to feed them. We have covered this basis, but changes need to be made as they age. This leads to a common question about changing food to fit the needs of a grown adult Labrador. The dog's age will determine how quickly they grow and how much energy they need. Lab puppies can stick with kibbles for up to 12 months. Diamond Naturals Dog Food Review An additional reason for there being specific food for puppies is the pieces are smaller which not only prevents them from choking, it also makes the food easier to digest. The pieces are richer, denser and the ideal size for smaller mouths. These ingredients are where your pup gets the nutrients they need to grow and live, nutrients that are sadly lacking in the cheaper dog foods. With foods that are a bit more expensive, your pooch can eat a more well-balanced meal and enjoy it. They eat more, they poop more, and this means house training becomes much harder for you. What you feed your puppy is a major factor in the success of your house training process. Firstly, dry food tends to be more complete and balanced with the correct amount of vital nutrients in it. The ingredients tend to be of better quality as long as you pick the right brand. Plus, dry food helps to keep teeth strong due to being a solid food, and the slightly abrasive nature of the solid food has a natural teeth cleaning effect. It also lasts far longer than cans as you need to feed less of it. Royal Canin Breed Specific Labrador Puppy Royal Canin is a very well-known brand with lots of positive reviews from past and present dog owners on Amazon. It has an above average protein content than the minimum recommended for your dog, coming in at 31 percent protein at dry weight. The protein it has comes mostly from chicken by-product meal which is considered somewhat low quality and consists of whatever is left after chickens are slaughtered. However, it does NOT — as you might read elsewhere — consist of anything from feet to beaks. According to dogfoodadvisor. After chicken by-product meal, the second ingredient in this food is brewers rice. The fourth ingredient is corn gluten meal which is a residue left over once most of the useful, starchy carbohydrates have been washed out of it. With such popularity, high ratings and reviews with so many people saying their dogs thrive on this, there must be some truth to it. The third to 5th ingredients are wholesome whole grains that provide high energy from complex carbohydrates that are easy to digest. These are far better than corn and most other sources of carbs found in cheaper foods that are hard for a puppy to get any nutrition from. Out of everything in this product, 40 percent of it is protein, which is higher than average. About 14 percent of it is fat, and of the remainder, 38 percent is carbs. And the omega oils may help reduce risk of developing arthritis. Not only this, but Labradors are a large breed and are more sensitive to nutritional imbalances than smaller breeds. You really do need to get their diet right to do the best for them. Luckily, many brands of food specifically aimed at large breeds and Labradors have been created that provide everything they need in just the right amounts, that are easy for an owner to feed by simply following instructions on the packet. Increase portions as your puppy grows. Be sure to follow the rule of dog treats. This is about changes over time. Nutritional deficiency or excess can lead to disease and ultimately death. You may have noticed that your dog has dandruff after changing food, but the food is really good — try adding levels of zinc and vitamin A. Your main task as a pet owner is to monitor the health of a small family member and be responsible for this life. Image credit: canva. The first one is a protein that can be found in meat, poultry, fish, yogurt, and cooked eggs. Protein is responsible for the structure of muscles and tissues, as well as the formation and growth of new cells. In the diet for a Labrador puppy, it is imperative to include carbohydrates that are found in brown rice, potatoes, and wheat. Carbohydrates supply the body with glucose, which is responsible for the functioning of the brain and nervous system. An obligatory component of dog food is fats. It is a source of energy, development, and functioning of the cells and muscles of the body. Fats are included in oil and even fish oil. Puppy food for Labs or any other dog includes a certain amount of minerals such as calcium, potassium, sodium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and others. Minerals in dog food form bones and cartilage and balance the nerves. It promotes the production of hormones in the Lab puppies, regulates the balance of fluids in the body, and transports oxygen into the blood. Like people, dog and puppy foods should include plenty of water. Water is life! Once in the body, they strengthen bones, and teeth and fill the Labrador puppy with energy. Cost point Every time you buy pet food, you think about the issue of price. Of course, cost is important when making a purchasing decision. You should be aware that higher-quality puppy food can cost more than the average price. Your dog is an irreplaceable member of your family, which must be protected and loved with all your heart. Risks and diseases Lab owners should know well about all risks and diseases that their dogs may face. Numerous studies confirm that the Labrador Retriever breed is prone to digestive sensitivities and skin allergies due to irritating foods. This leads to pruritic diseases. Skin allergies and problems with the gastrointestinal tract are severe. Labs are prone to obesity. Maintaining a healthy weight and body is considered an important point of caring for a dog. In general, Labrador Retrievers should have a taut, hourglass-shaped figure. Obesity puts additional stress on bones and joints and makes it difficult to stay healthy. To combat weight gain, you need to exercise your dog with certain physical exercises, follow a proper diet, control portion sizes, and receive treats. Another disease caused by malnutrition is Gastric dilatation-volvulus. In short, this is boating. Indigestion is a severe problem that should not be ignored. The worst risk is death from the musculoskeletal disorder of muscles, nerves, joints, arthritis, and spinal discs. Also, you should be aware that feed processing of dog foods affects the occurrence and development of cancer. Dry food is cooked at a very high temperature, which leads to the formation of harmful chemical elements in the body of the dog. Such food also contains carbohydrates, which break down into cancer-causing glucose. You can combine dog food with homemade recipe food for your pet yourself. Moreover, it is a good way of feeding your dog if the dog food at home is over or there is very little left, but you need to extend the time until the next purchase. Dogs fed solely on home-cooked or combined diets lived for about 13 years, while those fed only processed food lived for about 10 years. Like human food, it can be chewed easily. Food is broken down in the body so that key nutrients are absorbed more quickly. Such food facilitates digestion and relaxes the stomach. Reducing stress on the digestive system reduces the likelihood of bloating. If you still decide to cook homemade food, follow the rules. Study each ingredient. Cook all animal products for the exact finish to kill harmful bacteria. Risks of homemade dog food Most of the problems are caused by a misunderstanding of the nutritional needs of the Labrador. If you do not understand the effect of food on the body of your pet, which reaction is correct and which can lead to negative consequences and different stages of life, contact a professional veterinarian who can tell you in detail about the effect of food on the body of a dog and how to properly form a pet diet. You may have a baby, get married or get a divorce. If you think that you may not be able to make a lifetime commitment to one of our Boxers, then we kindly request you reconsider adoption. No dog is ever perfect, just like people are not perfect. It requires work to make things work. Your expectations needs to be realistic. Do you have small children or a baby? Boxers are similar. They need love, attention and an opportunity to learn too. Are you familiar with the breed? If not, you may want to look into fostering with us before making a decision to adopt. If you expect that the new dog will not react when a child hits them, throw toys at them, takes away their toy or food, etc, then please do not adopt from us. You are not required to have a fenced yard. However, if you do not, you will need to take the dog out for a potty break at least 4 times a day, more if they do not feel well. Same goes for a home with a low fence. If you are looking to adopt a puppy, please be realistic. Any home where no one is home for more than six hours a day times a week will be rejected for puppies. He will be deeply missed by WCBR, and we wish his family peace with his loss. Thank you to so many who have donated to WCBR in his memory. Ken will forever be in our hearts. We need your help. Fights are happening, resulting in injuries to both dogs. Bailey is very sweet, current on vaccines, and spayed. She has been ok with male boxers so we will consider placing her with a sweet boy, who loves to play. Bailey has no history with young children. She is currently taking Prozac and Trazadone at the advice of a trainer who claimed it would help to keep her from panting in her crate. Shame on this vet who willy nilly dished out these drugs to a 13 month old dog, without asking why!! Bailey needs a committed home, with an understanding of the needs of an adolescent boxer. She should attend positive based training with her new humans. Bailey would love a fenced in yard, in addition to lots of walks and continued socialization. If you are interested in this girl, please apply! Where do your boxers come from? Many of our boxers are owner surrenders. Perhaps the owner purchased the dog on impulse, not understanding the needs of a boxer. Sometimes, financial situations change, and families are not able to care for the dog anymore. We also take dogs that have been brought to shelters around New England. If a shelter reaches out for help, we do our best to find placement for the boxer in need. Lastly, we have a wonderful relationship with boxer rescue in Puerto Rico, and we work closely with them to bring boxers in need, from the island, to New England. All of our boxers are temperament tested and evaluated before coming into rescue. It should be noted that ALL dogs require a decompression period when going to a new home. Can I adopt a female dog if I already have a female dog? The short answer is no. Our experience in placing dogs, has shown us that placing two females together is oftentimes not the best long term situation. We receive many calls from owners needing to surrender their female boxers because there is fighting with another female dog in the house. Either way, the fighting is often brutal and bloody. We have adopted a policy to never place two female dogs in the same house. Are your boxers healthy? They are brought up to date on vaccines, tested for heartworm, and spayed or neutered unless too young or not medically able to be. Their vet records are provided upon adoption. Do I need to have a fenced in yard to adopt a boxer? We do not require a fenced in yard for all of our boxers. We look at each dog, individually, and based on the needs of that dog, we may require fencing. Please note that we do not consider an electric fence to be a proper method of containment and are not able place a dog in a home that uses electric fencing. Do you have a shelter where I can come meet the boxers? We are not a shelter and do not have a physical location where you can meet our adoptees. Most boxers will stay with their owners or shelter until we can secure a foster or adoptive home for them. What Are Your Adoption Fees?

How do you breed for a healthier English Bulldog? Like all things in life, breeding for health is simply a matter of priority. We are blind to many of the breed priorities that distract other breeders from improving the health of the English Bulldog. We focus on health and personality and very little else. We are not interested in winning a blue ribbon in the show ring. Rather, we test for things like elongated soft palates, narrow tracheas, stenotic nares, luxation in the patellar tendons, heart defects, cherry eye, optic cilia, entropion, ect. We focus and prioritize creating healthy bloodlines, therefore our bulldogs are typically much healthier than the breed as a whole. After breeding for health, what other priorities are you focused on? Our true desire is to create the perfect family bulldog. We also believe a bulldog bred for the correct personality is essential to the family unit as well. A Bruiser Bulldog is bred for intelligence and playfulness. We want our bulldogs to be full of personality and some quirk. We believe a full personality along with a little stubbornness is the true North star of the bulldog breed and is what makes the unique among other breeds. We look for these personality traits in our adult bulldogs and continue to create bloodlines that reflect these qualities. Our Puppy Primrose is the light of our lives! Bruisers was there to assist us every step of the way. We would highly recommend Bruisers Bulldogs to anyone looking for their own happy, healthy pup! Leah H. We were lucky to have come across Bruiser Bulldogs and even more so the fact that they were near our family and hometown made it even better. We have had Clementine Callie for four months now, and she is a wonderful dog. Her personality is amazing, and I think part of it is breeding and the other part is Erika and her family lovingly raising the puppies in their home with plenty of attention and snuggles. I also was impressed that, rather than send the puppies out right at 8 weeks, Erika kept ours for a few extra weeks because she was tiny and not read to leave her mom yet. It's that care that differentiates Bruisers from other breeders. Emily R. Erica was easy to work with thru the entire process from application to adopting and now beyond as we host our new family member, Chief. Her on-call support and willingness to provide open, honest advice to all of our questions and concerns continues to be appreciated. We would highly recommend Bruiser Bulldogs to anyone looking for an English Bulldog to join their family. Elizabeth W. Lady L. They are experienced, responsive and knowledgeable about all things bulldog related. They went above and beyond for us and are truly dedicated to all of their pups! We love our little girl so much and would recommend Bruiser to anyone looking for a healthy beautiful bully. Jonathan E. Erica and Mitch are trustworthy, excellent communicators, fair, passionate, and produce the best bulldogs. We were at the top of the waiting list for months and Erica reached out every litter to see if we were finally ready for a bulldog. When we were, she was very easy to work with. Her knowledge on bulldogs is outstanding. We had many questions on the process and she always knew what was best for the puppy. We've had Penny formerly Blair for two months and she is very healthy, energetic, playful, and sweet. She is great with other people and dogs. We are so happy with our pup. When we are ready for bulldog 2, we will only consider Bruiser Bulldogs. Mitch C. Bowser was born April and is an integral part of our family. When we were first exploring English Bulldog breeders our biggest concern was the overall health of the dogs. We decided to work with Erica at Bruiser Bulldogs because we liked their focus on improving the breeds breathing abilities and the fact that the puppies are raised within her family environment before coming home with their new owners. Bowser also breaths clearly and our vet was impressed with his overall health from the moment we brought him home. All that said we know English Bulldogs have a predisposition to many health issues and that his current health can not predict the future. With that In mind its important to start with a breeder that open to answer any of your questions as Erica has ours, and that strongly believes in improving the breeds overall health profile. Adam B. My sister ended up finding Bruiser Bulldogs and we knew right away that they were the breeder for us. In September we ended up driving 9 hours to pick up two Bruiser bulldog puppies- one for my husband and I and one for my mom. Jackson and Penelope have been nothing but a joy. They are both very athletic and healthy. They are also HUGE snugglers and always want to be with you. It is an absolute pleasure having these two bullies in our lives! Erica is very knowledgeable about the breed. She is very hands on throughout the process and is just overall a kind and honest person to work with. With all that being said I cannot recommend Bruiser Bulldogs enough! Collyn C. One of the reasons we chose Bruiser Bulldogs was due to the claims about breeding for health. During our first visit at our vet's office, he told us that our pup was one of the healthiest English bulldogs he had ever seen. He is healthy, happy and social. Would recommend to anyone. Christina S. We seen our dog on their website and sent them an Email. Mitch called us and personally walked us through the process and made sure we had the right dog for our family. We couldn't be happier when we picked up our dog Ramsey, Erica made sure we had everything we needed and then some. They are truly amazing people who breed truly amazing dogs! Jim T. America Humane Society English Bulldogs are a popular pet choice for many reasons. They are relatively low-maintenance dogs that are easy to train and have a docile personality. They are also one of the longest-lived dog breeds, with an average lifespan of years. An English Bulldog may be a perfect choice for those looking for a loyal and affectionate companion. You can be sure to find thousands of rescues, shelters, breeders, and other organizations that will help you in your puppy search. The best part is all of this information is Free. Humane Society International This breed originated in England in the s and was originally used for bull-baiting, a gruesome sport in which dogs were pitted against bulls to hinder them. Thankfully, this practice was outlawed in , and the English Bulldog began to be bred as a companion animal instead. They are still known for their gentle temperament and love of human companionship. They do not require a lot of exercise and can live happily in small spaces. However, they can be prone to heat exhaustion, so providing them plenty of shade and water during hot weather is important. English Bulldogs also require regular grooming, including brushing their teeth and clipping their nails. Overall, English Bulldogs make great pets for those looking for a laid-back companion. We promote adoption and rescue versus paying too much from a breeder or pet store. We are not associated with any listed organizations, so please research. All of the information below is from years of researching the English Bulldog on the internet, reading books and journals, and over 15 years of breeding and raising English Bulldogs. This information can be helpful in solving minor problems, but always consult your veterinarian before treating even the simplest problem with your English Bulldog. Like all babies, the English Bulldog puppy needs lots of love and cuddling, lots of rest and sleep, lots of good, nourishing food and more love and cuddling. Moving to a new home, leaving his dam and litter mates and the only humans your English Bulldog puppy has ever really known is a very traumatic experience for English Bulldog puppies, so try to make the move as easy as possible for your English Bulldog puppy. For the first couple of weeks, try not to change your English Bulldog puppy's life style if at all possible. Follow the English Bulldog breeders feeding routine. The same times, the same amount, the same brand of food, and the same supplements , if any. Feed your English Bulldog puppy in the same place at each meal. Be sure your English Bulldog puppy has a special area all his own for his bed. Give your English Bulldog puppy lots and lots of cuddling and petting. Please try to find a veterinarian that understands the English Bulldog, English Bulldogs are at a higher risk to anesthetize that snouted breeds so be sure that the veterinarian you have chosen is aware of this fact at least, try to only have your English Bulldog put under when absolutely necessary. English Bulldogs also have very shallow joint sockets and a veterinarian that is unfamiliar with English Bulldogs may not only misdiagnose joint problems but may also see you as a license to print money. Almost every English Bulldog will have a slightly elongated soft palate which is why they snore, so be aware - if your veterinarian informs you that he needs to resection the soft palate this may not be the case at all. English Bulldogs with severe soft palate problems will overheat easily, find it very difficult to cope with any form of exercise and may regurgitate their food. If there are other English Bulldog owners in your area ask them who they go to and at least ask your veterinarian what his English Bulldog experience is. When an English Bulldog puppy goes into a vets office, everybody in there flocks to you to get a closer look or to pet the English Bulldog puppy. Try not to make any drastic changes, gradual is better, and always try to make it a fun time for your English Bulldog puppy If you want to change the brand of puppy food your English Bulldog puppy is eating, the change should be slow and gradual. Substitute a small amount of the old food with the new brand and slowly increase the ratio of new to old until the old brand is completely replaced with the new. Here at My Baby Bullies health is our 1 goal. We give all of our Bulldogs NuVet Plus vitamin wafers everyday to insure that they are healthy. Our babies get all the protection from the time they are conceived to insure a healthy start in life. We strongly recommend that you continue giving the NuVet Plus vitamin wafers for the life of your new puppy. We feel so strongly about this product that we have incorporated it into our health guarantee! Most English Bulldog breeders feed a two to four month old English Bulldog puppy four times a day. At this age the dry food is usually softened with warm water. There are several good brands of puppy food on the market, if you are not satisfied with the food your English Bulldog puppy is eating, try another brand. You want a puppy food your English Bulldog puppy likes and which produces a nice coat, keeps your English Bulldog puppy round but not obese, and produces solid stools. You may feed your English Bulldog puppy on a set schedule, or have food available to him at all times. Your English Bulldog puppy will flourish under either regimen. The choice depends on which is more convenient for you. How much you feed him depends on the English Bulldog puppy. In most cases, a growing English Bulldog puppy which gets sufficient exercise should eat as much as it wants. If your English Bulldog puppy does become obese, you may need to regulate the amount he eats, but DO NOT put a growing English Bulldog puppy on a severely restricted diet unless it is supervised by a veterinarian who is knowledgeable about English Bulldog puppies. From four to six months an English Bulldog puppy's feeding regimen should remain the same but the number of feedings may be reduced to three. At about six months this number can be reduced to two. In most cases continue feeding the puppy as much as he wants. How often you feed an English Bulldog one year or more old depends on your preference and your English Bulldog. Most English Bulldogs do well on one meal a day. Some do better on two meals a day. You may prefer to feed in the morning or the evening. This is up to you. If you like it and your English Bulldog likes it, it's the right way. An English Bulldog usually eats puppy food until it is at least one year old. If your English Bulldog is thriving on puppy food and not getting to overweight, leave him on it until he is at least two years old. You can feed your English Bulldog puppy food all his life, if it agrees with him. Most English Bulldogs are changed from puppy to adult food at around twelve to eighteen months. It is best to change to the adult version of the puppy food you have been feeding your English Bulldog. It does not hurt your English Bulldog to change from one brand of dog food to another and then to another and so on as long as each change is done by gradually, substituting more and more of the new brand for the old. Never make a drastic change in his eating habits or in his food. If your English Bulldog is spayed or neutered or as it ages and becomes less active, you may need to start feeding a reduced calorie dog food to keep your English Bulldog from becoming too fat. Most good brands of dog food have a "lo-fat" reduced calorie version. Again, it's best if you stay with the same brand you've been feeding your English Bulldog and change to the "lo-fat" version. Whatever its age, your English Bulldog should have cool fresh water available at all times. The most common supplements are cottage cheese, yogurt and oil. Cottage cheese is especially good for growing English Bulldog puppies since the English Bulldog must grow a lot of heavy bone in a short time. Give your English Bulldog about a tablespoon per feeding. Yogurt helps to keep the digestive system of your English Bulldog working well, about a teaspoon per feeding. Oil helps to keep the coat and skin of your English Bulldog in good condition, about a teaspoon twice a day. All vegetable or canola oil is best - do not give your English Bulldog any oil which contains soybean oil. You may also give your English Bulldog a vitamin supplement. DO NOT over dose. If the directions say "one a day", two is not better. You may also give your English Bulldog a vitamin C tablet - units per day. Supplements to be very careful with are Vitamins E, D and A. Overdoses of these can cause trouble for your English Bulldog. If you plan to breed a female English Bulldog, vitamin B complex, including folic acid, is recommended, but again be careful not to overdose your English Bulldog. Treats for your English Bulldog should usually be dog treats without any soy. It won't hurt your English Bulldog to give him an occasional bite of meat, vegetables, fruit, soda crackers, ice cream, etc. We were shocked to say the least at where some manufactures get the ingredients used and we as consumers were poisoning our beloved animals. So to make sure we knew exactly what we were feeding our English Bulldogs we decided that we would cook for our English Bulldogs as well as our other pets! English Bulldog Equipment There are several things which will make life easier and more enjoyable for you and your English Bulldog. First in importance is a wire crate. This comes very close to being a necessity for English Bulldogs. It is much easier to house train an English Bulldog puppy if he sleeps in a crate. If you travel at all with your English Bulldog, he is more safe and happier riding in a crate. If you are staying overnight your English Bulldog has a place of his own to sleep in. It is just as important for your English Bulldog to be in a crate in the car as it is for you to wear your seat belt. If you do not have a crate, or one won't fit into your car, get your English Bulldog a dog safety car harness. English Bulldogs like to have a special "my place" so if you don't have a crate, try one, you and your English Bulldog will like it. If you travel with your English Bulldog you'll need a large insulated water jug so that you'll have "home" water available for him. A small water pan that hooks to the side of his crate is ideal for traveling. A rocking chair or a really comfortable big chair you can sit in and cuddle your new English Bulldog puppy, this makes for great bonding time with your new English Bulldog puppy. A food dish with straight sides and flat bottom. The best material is stainless steel - avoid plastic with English Bulldogs whenever possible. A water dish, stainless steel is best again for English Bulldogs. A collar and a lead. A light weight, small link "choke" collar is best for an English Bulldog puppy. It should be long enough to slip over the English Bulldog puppy's head with room to spare but should not have more than a six inch "tail" when around his neck. The English Bulldog puppy's first lead should be a light weight one, you'll need a strong leather lead as he grows into an adult English Bulldog. A grooming table makes brushing, nail trimming, whisker clipping, medication, etc. Start your English Bulldog puppy out young and he'll soon learn to stand still with his neck in the noose and your life will be much easier. A puppy pen. Even though you have a fenced yard, you may want to confine your English Bulldog puppy to or out of a particular area. Puppy pens are easily portable and very handy for keeping an English Bulldog puppy confined to a small area. They are especially useful for a winter English Bulldog puppy. You can put his bed in his crate, put the crate in a puppy pen and put his pee-pee pads in a corner of the pen. If you plan to exhibit your English Bulldog you will need a pair of whisker scissors. These are small, sharp, blunt end scissors which you can purchase from a pet store, a dog show vendor or a dog supply catalog. A good brush. You can use almost any brush on an English Bulldog but the best ones have flexible rubber bristles. You want one small enough to fit your hand comfortably. Lemon Juice- If your English Bulldog gets phlegm in his throat and chokes on it, a couple squirts of juice from the plastic lemon will help clear it out. Clear Eyes, Visine, etc. Aspirin- For minor aches and pains. Most English Bulldogs can tolerate aspirin but do not give any other human pain reliever such as Tylenol or Advil. Remember that the dosage for aspirin, like most pain relief medication, is based primarily on body weight. An English Bulldog should never be given more than one tablet at a time or more frequently than every twelve hours. Some English Bulldogs are allergic to aspirin, so only use aspirin under the advise and care of a veterinarian. Benadryl- Either capsule or liquid. Use this if the English bulldog is stung by a bee or other insect, and for minor English Bulldog allergies as recommended by your veterinarian. Panalog Ointment- A good all purpose ointment for minor English Bulldog skin afflictions. Also good for cleaning English Bulldog wrinkles, tail pockets and ears. Bag Balm- Also useful for minor English Bulldog skin afflictions. Pepto Bismol- For minor stomach upset of your English Bulldog. Q-tips- Use for applying medication and cleaning your English Bulldogs ears. Cotton balls- Use for applying medication, for cleaning and to keep the ears of your English Bulldog dry while bathing. Even English Bulldog puppies can tear a piece off the rawhide and choke on it. English Bulldog Puppies like knotted socks to shake and play tug of war with. They also like Nylabone and rubber toys. Many English Bulldog puppies like to play with balls, but be sure the ball is too big to lodge in the throat or be swallowed. Most English Bulldogs love the Kong toys, and you can fill them with treats and watch your English Bulldog play for hours. English Bulldog puppies like cotton tug toys but be careful not to let the stuffing of any toy be swallowed by your English Bulldog puppy. Some people give their English Bulldog puppies and adult English Bulldogs Choo-Hooves and English Bulldogs really like them, but be cautious with these. They are an "only when I can watch you" English Bulldog toy. The only real difference between the toys for an English Bulldog puppy and the toys for an adult English Bulldog is size. Always discard any toy that you think your English Bulldog might swallow! Your English Bulldog should be thoroughly brushed at least three times a week. Most English Bulldogs love to be brushed. Use a soft bristle or rubber brush. Start at the rear and brush against the hair. After you've brushed the entire English Bulldog against the grain, brush it with the grain. Follow this with a good rub down. During shedding time, spring and fall, you may need to brush your English Bulldog more often, give more frequent rubdowns. The idea is to remove the dead hair and distribute the natural oils produced by your English Bulldog. Bathing Your English Bulldog An English Bulldog that receives frequent brushings and rubdowns does not need frequent bathing. Most English Bulldog owners bathe their English Bulldogs when the dog is dirty - when it obviously needs a bath. Of course, if you are exhibiting your English Bulldog he needs a bath before he goes to the show. An English Bulldog in the show ring should be clean and well groomed. Where do you bathe an English Bulldog? Any place you want to and can! Some people have a big deep sink, some use the bath tub, some use the kitchen sink, in the summer some wash their English Bulldog on the lawn. I prefer the Booster Bath, your English Bulldog can walk right up the ramp which also doubles as a booster for puppies and saves your back from stooping down to bathe your English Bulldog. You need a place where you can control your English Bulldog, where you can easily control the water supply and where you can rinse your English Bulldog thoroughly and the Booster Bath provides all of this for you. It's a good idea, especially with a puppy, to take the dog outside to "potty" just before you bathe him. Gather up all the things you will need to bathe your English Bulldog before you start. You will need: a mild tear-free shampoo, any rinses you plan to use, cotton balls, Q-tips, eye ointment or mineral oil, Vaseline, wash cloth, and towels. Most use a special whitening shampoo for white English Bulldogs. You may on occasion need to use a flea shampoo but since these are quite harsh, don't use one on your English Bulldog unless you really need to. Put a couple of drops of mineral oil or a bit of eye ointment in the eyes of your English Bulldog and place a cotton ball securely in each ear before you wet your English Bulldog. Wet your English Bulldog thoroughly from just behind the ears to the tips of the toes on his hind legs. Be sure his underside of your English Bulldog is wet, too, not just the top and sides. Apply the shampoo starting at the neck of your English Bulldog and working back. Work the shampoo in to be sure you get all the way through the hair to the skin of your English Bulldog. Pay special attention to the paws of your English Bulldog wash between the toes , his tail clean all around the base , and the genital area. On a female, be especially careful to clean the vulva. Put some shampoo on the washcloth and wash your English Bulldog's face. Wash the wrinkles over the nose, on the forehead, around the nose and under the eyes. Wash his nose. Wash his ears, inside and out. Now rinse. Rinse until you are sure every bit of your English Bulldog, especially in the wrinkles and tight places, is thoroughly rinsed and there is no shampoo left any place. If you are applying a rinse to your English Bulldog, do it now, following the manufactures instructions. For a white English Bulldog, you can use a rinse of 4 Tbsp. Mix enough bluing into the water to get a darkish blue not black. Pour the bluing mixture over your white English Bulldog and work in with your fingertips. Do not rinse off the solution. Do not towel dry, let your white English bulldog drip dry. For red dogs, try VO5 Henna Conditioner. Dry your English Bulldog with towels. Take the cotton balls out of your English Bulldog's ears and clean any wax carefully using a dry Q-Tip or one with a dab of Panalog. Rub a dab of Vaseline onto his nose to help keep it soft. You can then let your English Bulldog air dry or use a hair dryer to finish the drying. It's best to keep the English Bulldog inside until it is completely dry - about two hours. English Bulldog Nails Most English Bulldogs need their nails cut on a regular basis - about every two weeks. The nails should be kept as short as possible on your English Bulldog. You may use dog nail clippers or an electric grinder. Most English Bulldog owners use the clippers, either guillotine or scissors type. Which type you use on your English Bulldog is up to you, but they should be sharp. When the blade begins to dull, replace it or buy new clippers - dull blades can be painful to your English Bulldog. Each English Bulldog owner seems to have a different way to clip nails. Find the way that works best for you. The important thing is to be able to control your English Bulldog so that you do not hurt it. A grooming table is probably the best way to control your English Bulldog. On white nails you can see where the quick begins. On black nails cut just to the curve of the nail. Clippers usually leave a rough edge, so a good dog nail file to smooth them off will work fine. If you use en electric grinder, be very, very careful not to grind into the quick. The main thing is to make the experience as pleasant as possible for your English bulldog so be really careful when cutting nails and don't cut into the quick. If your English Bulldog takes frequent walks on pavement or concrete sidewalks, it will usually wear the nails down, so again, be careful, there may not be very much nail to cut. Especially the black nails which seem to wear more than the white ones. English Bulldog Wrinkles English Bulldogs tend to have messy face wrinkles. The older your English Bulldog gets, the messier the wrinkles. How often you clean these wrinkles depends on your English Bulldog itself. Some English Bulldogs do very well if you clean the wrinkles a couple of times a week. Some English Bulldogs need it on a daily basis. When you clean the wrinkles, wash his nose and apply a good rub of Vaseline to keep it soft. It's better to clean your English Bulldog more often than you think you need to than not to clean your English Bulldog often enough. You can clean the wrinkles of your English Bulldog with a soft, damp cloth and then dry. Or you can wash them using the shampoo you use to bathe your English Bulldog. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and dry thoroughly. One of the best ways is to wipe the wrinkles of your English Bulldog clean is with Baby Wipes with lanolin and aloe. Whatever method you use to clean the wrinkles of your English Bulldog, be sure to get the deep nose wrinkle clean. You may need to put a soothing ointment in the deep nose wrinkle of some English Bulldogs. If it is irritated, Panalog will help to heal. Diaparene Ointment will soothe and dry the wrinkle, but this contains zinc oxide, so before you apply it to your English Bulldog, rub Vaseline into his nose. Allot of English Bulldogs have "tear stains" of varying degrees of color. If the stain is bad on your English Bulldog, in addition to cleaning you may want to try to remove the stain. There are many treatments out there and you may have to try several before you find one that works for you and your English Bulldog. You can make a paste of 1 Tbsp. Hydrogen Peroxide and enough corn starch to make a thin paste some English Bulldog owners add I Tbsp. Milk of Magnesia to the hydrogen peroxide and mix the cornstarch into that mixture. Apply to the tear stain on your English Bulldog, let it dry, and brush off the excess. Apply on a daily basis until the stain is gone from your English Bulldog, then weekly to keep stain from returning. Another method is to rub the stain with a cotton ball soaked in Boric Acid. Another remedy is rubbing a dab of Desitin into the stain to help keep it dry. Whatever you use be sure not to get it in the eyes of your English Bulldog. Fleas on your English Bulldog The best way to treat fleas on your English Bulldog is to prevent them. Some English Bulldogs are allergic to flea saliva and can develop really serious skin problems so try to keep your English Bulldog free of fleas. Frequent brushing of your English Bulldog is the first defense. Frequently changed bedding is very important. Flea collars are not very effective and many English Bulldogs cannot wear them. If you do use one, do not put one on a wet or damp English Bulldog and do not allow the English Bulldog to wear a wet collar this includes letting the English Bulldog out in the rain with its flea collar on. You may need to give your English Bulldog a bath with a good flea shampoo or use an anti-flea rinse when you bathe. The chemicals used in these shampoos are harsh and allot of English Bulldogs have sensitive skin so use them only when necessary and follow instructions carefully. There are various types of flea shampoos, dips, and sprays, since these really are medications, it's a good idea to at least begin with ones from your veterinarian or that have been specifically recommended by an experienced English Bulldog owner in your area. Avon Skin so Soft mixed in the rinse water of your English Bulldog is an effective, non-irritating flea deterrent used by several English Bulldog owners. You can also use the Skin so Soft mixed with an equal part of water in a spray bottle, or, if you feel that's a bit too strong, try two capfuls in a pint spray bottle. This will also help to repel mosquitoes and ticks from your English Bulldog. Above all else, a clean environment for your English Bulldog, especially his bed, is the best flea prevention. Bedding Bedding material used for English Bulldogs ranges from a wide variety of man-made materials to special dog beds of all types and prices. The most common bedding for an English Bulldog is cotton rugs or blankets which can be washed with ease. Don't pamper your English Bulldog with a wicker dog bed. An English Bulldog will destroy it with his massive jaws and it really isn't a good thing for an English Bulldog to eat. The fake sheepskin rugs available from most pet stores and dog catalogs make good beds for English Bulldogs as they are soft and wash and dry very easily. The important thing for bedding is that it be easily washable and provide a soft nesting area for your English Bulldog.

Our commitment to the breed! The German Shepherd Dog is an exceptional dog. GSDs are able to perform at a high level in many different skills and duties: search and rescue, nose work, protection, herding, service and therapy work, and sport work, all while being loyal and loving pets. A GSD will always have your back! Unfortunately, poor breeding has created many genetically flawed and sick dogs. These genetically flawed dogs break hearts and bank accounts and destroy the standard of the breed. Our breeding program is committed to providing genetically sound, clear in the head, true-to-the-breed-dogs, both in body and mind. All our breeding dogs are genetically tested for disease markers to ensure that they will not be subjected to these diseases. All our dogs go though hip and elbow testing and all are titled in Schutzhund or AKC and are certified in police, service or therapy disciplines. Our breeding stock are all imported or from imported stock and have outstanding lineage. From a Medal of Honor winner and IPO3-titled dog to a certified narcotics detection and patrol service dog - our GSDs come from highly awarded lines, true to the breed and clear in the head. We start working with our puppies the day they are born. They receive early neurological stimulation: They are introduced to sounds of city noises and thunderstorms starting the third week - these sounds are introduced very quietly at the beginning and increase over time. We "play" as soon as they are able, working their natural drive and building confidence. They get a head start on the housebreaking process: At 4 weeks we introduce a "litter" box and at 6 weeks we move to outside potty breaks. We begin crate training at 6 weeks, with the goal of having them sleeping singly by the time they go to their forever home. You will appreciate this more than you know! And of course, they are age-appropriate vaccinated, microchipped and thoroughly examined by our veterinarian. Exercise Grooming In the 19th century, Shepherds bred all kinds of dogs mainly to herd and guard flocks. Thus, the dogs needed to display a high level of intelligence, extra normal strength, resilience, courage and bravery, a keen sense of smell, and trainability qualities, etc. These mongrel combinations provided dog breeds that could efficiently guard and herd flocks but differed in appearance and ability, from one locality to another. German Shepherd dogs are well known to be highly inquisitive which makes them excellent for rescue mission training. The German Shepherd has a noble character and shows very high levels of loyalty to its owners. The dog is also described as extremely territorial and has displayed characteristics of overprotectiveness in some cases. The German shepherd can survive in all types of environment; their thick furriness makes them better prepared for cold climates. German Shepherds are considered extremely playful and active. These breeds spend half of their daily routine with activities. The German Shepherd is popularly known as an athletic natured dog and requires a good dose of daily exercise to keep up muscle tone, build and development. If improperly exercised the German Shepherd has been known to become frustrated and exhibit undesirable behaviors. The German Shepherd requires an occasional brushing, as this helps with removing loose hair from its fur. The German Shepherd sheds fur once or twice a year and in this time the breed requires a lot of soft brushing. This can be done using a soft to medium bristle brush. The German Shepherd occasionally requires that its nails are trimmed off when they grow too long, however, some breeds instinctually file their nails against any hard surface that can be fine. Excessive nail growth can cause much pain and even lead to structural concerns. In choosing a German Shepherd breed you must ask yourself what it is you want in a dog and what kind of person are you? His rivalry with Buzz forms the basis of the first film's plot. In Toy Story 2, he is stolen at a yard sale by a toy collector named Al, causing the other toys to embark on a rescue mission. In the film, it is stated that he was the star of a s television series titled Woody's Roundup. In Toy Story 3, he and the other toys are donated to a daycare center and must race to get home before Andy leaves for college; he later gets himself and the other toys passed on to Bonnie. They also helped lost toys find owners and save Forky from running away. In the films, he acts as Woody's second-in-command. In Toy Story, he begins the series believing he is a real Space Ranger the other toys are aware that they are toys and develops a rivalry with Woody, who resents him for getting more attention as the newcomer. His catchphrase is "To infinity and beyond! He is extremely loyal to his friends. In Toy Story 2, Buzz with Mr. In Toy Story 3, a relationship begins to develop between Buzz and Jessie. He is particularly open with his affection when switched to "Spanish mode". Andy regards Woody and Buzz as his two favorite toys, in the third film, he considers which one he will take to college, and ultimately chooses Woody. When passing on his toys to Bonnie, he describes Buzz as "the coolest toy ever". The Pixar film, Lightyear, depicts the origin story of the character, which, in the narrative of Toy Story, inspired the line of Buzz Lightyear toys shown. In Lightyear, Buzz is shown to be a Space Ranger in Star Command, who is drawn into a conflict with Emperor Zurg after he experiences the effects of time dilation while testing faster-than-light travel methods. Bo Peep voiced by Annie Potts is a porcelain figurine who serves as Woody's romantic interest. In the first film, she and her sheep are detachable components of Molly's bedside lamp. In Andy's games of imaginative play, Bo Peep is used as the damsel-in-distress of the stories, and she is depicted as gentle, ladylike, and kindhearted. After being given away prior to the events of Toy Story 3 , in which Rex mentions that she had gone on to a new owner which upsets Woody , Bo Peep returns with a major role in Toy Story 4. She also wears a white bandage to fix her broken right arm and a purple bandage to fix her broken left hand. Potato Head voiced by Don Rickles is a sarcastic, Brooklyn-accented figure based on the real-life Mr. Potato Head toy. His design allows him to detach parts from his body and he has a compartment on his lower back to store extra appendages. He retains control over his parts even if they are disconnected from his body. While this attribute is mostly used for comedic effect, it does have its uses, particularly in the second and third films. His wife is Mrs. Potato Head, and they become the adoptive parents to a trio of Aliens in the second film. In the opening scenes of the first and third films, he is described by Andy as the outlaw One-Eyed Bart. Potato Head appears in the four main Toy Story movies. His voice actor, Don Rickles, had signed on for the fourth film, [7] but died in , [8] before recording any lines. The filmmakers went through 25 years of Rickles's unused Mr. Potato Head recordings — from the previous three films, the Disney theme parks, and the Toy Story video games — to use as the character's lines for the fourth film. Cooley worked with the film's screenwriters, Andrew Stanton and Stephany Folsom, to write general lines for the character, and then looked through the database of archived recordings to find a suitable dialogue match. Potato Head has seven lines and a laugh in the film. Slinky Dog voiced by Jim Varney from — and Blake Clark from —present is a toy dachshund with a metal Slinky for a body, who speaks in a gravelly Southern accent. Slinky's head, feet, and a tail are plastic, he has a green collar. Slinky Dog was partially redesigned for the film by Pixar artist Bud Luckey to make him more appealing as an animated character. In the opening scenes of the first and third films, Slinky is described by Andy as One-Eyed Bart's "attack dog with a built-in force field ". His catchphrase is "Golly bob howdy! He also appears in Small Fry and Partysaurus Rex. Rex's worst fear is that Andy will get another, more intimidating dinosaur, but feels better after Buzz gives him a few pointers on how to roar more effectively. Although Rex is a toy dinosaur, he dislikes confrontation and is sensitive in nature. He is among the largest of Andy's toys. In the opening scenes of the first and third films, he is described by Andy as Woody's "dinosaur who eats force field dogs". When passing his toys onto Bonnie at the end of the third film, Andy describes Rex as the "meanest, most terrifying dinosaur who ever lived". He appears in an outtake of Monsters, Inc. He has a cork in his belly in place of a stopper. He and Mr. Potato Head are friends, and are seen in the first film playing a card game, and later Battleship , which Hamm always wins. Out of all the toys, he is shown to have the most knowledge of the outside world, often being familiar with various gadgets that are shown. In the second and third films, Andy portrays Hamm as a villain known as "Evil Dr. Porkchop", who typically dons Mr. Potato Head's bowler hat. In the third film, Evil Dr. Hamm appears in each of the Toy Story movies. He appears in the post-credit scene of Cars as part of a homage and self-parody to Ratzenberger who voices Mack in the film. In a television advertisement for the United States Postal Service promoting Toy Story 3, Hamm wears a postal worker's outfit while promoting the Priority Mail service, Ratzenberger is best known for his role as mailman Cliff Clavin on the long-running sitcom Cheers. Lee Ermey in the first three films [14] is the gung-ho commander of green army men who are stored in a bucket and are known as Bucket O Soldiers. These toys play a prominent role in Toy Story and more minor roles in the next two films. He has a green body with blue splash decals on the front. RC cannot speak, instead of communicating with revving sounds, which Mr. Potato Head and the other toys can understand regardless. RC is a playable character in Toy Story Racer. RC plays a major role in the first film, a very minor role in the second film and has a cameo appearance in the fourth film. He does not appear in the third film, except in footage showing Andy as a young boy. He was possibly one of the toys that went to new owners. Andy's other toys[ edit ] Andy has several toys who make brief appearances as minor characters: Rocky [15] [16] voiced by Jack Angel is a figure of a heavyweight wrestler. Rocky's name and a logo on his championship belt are references to the Rock of Gibraltar. Rocky is a playable character in the Toy Story Racer video game. He is absent from Toy Story 3, implying that he had been sold or donated between the events of the second and third films. Etch is an Etch A Sketch who can draw various images quickly and accurately. In the first film, it sketches a hangman's noose and shows it to Woody after the toys revolt against him for knocking Buzz out of a window. In the second film, it helps the other toys by initially sketching portraits of Woody's kidnapper and later sketching a map showing the location of Al's Toy Barn. It appears in Toy Story 3 only through footage of Andy as a young boy. It is stated by Woody that Etch was among several other toys of Andy's who went on to new owners. Lenny voiced by Joe Ranft [17] [18] is a pair of wind-up binoculars used by the other toys to get a better view during various situations in the first two films. He does not speak in Toy Story 2. He is a playable character in the Toy Story Racer video game. He also appears in Toy Story 3 through home video footage from when Andy was young. The Magic 8-Ball makes brief appearances in the first three films. Woody shoves the ball away, and it falls behind a desk. In Toy Story 3, a disinterested Molly tosses the ball into a box to be donated to Sunnyside daycare along with several other toys. Mike is a toy tape recorder who helped Woody amplify his voice during a toy meeting with his attached microphone. At the end of Toy Story 2, Wheezy uses him as a karaoke machine. It spins its pointer to communicate. Shark voiced by Jack Angel is a blue squeak toy shark who appears in the first two films. In the first film, he steals Woody's hat and imitates him before Woody takes his hat back. In Toy Story 2, he is used as one of the death traps during Andy's playtime. At the end of the film, he repairs Wheezy by finding him an extra squeaker. Spell voiced by Jeff Pidgeon is a toy with a built-in keyboard who speaks words that are typed in. He makes brief appearances in the first two films, and it is stated that he has held toy seminars on topics such as plastic corrosion awareness and what to do if you or part of you is swallowed. In Toy Story 2, Buzz uses him to help figure out the identity of the man who stole Woody from the yard sale. He does not appear in Toy Story 3. Spell appears in Forky Asks a Question. Robot voiced by Jeff Pidgeon is a toy robot. In Toy Story, he stands on his head for Buzz to run on his treads like a treadmill. In Toy Story 2, he assists Buzz in making sure all of Andy's toys are accounted for once they learn of a yard sale. He is not seen again until the end of the film when he watches Wheezy sings " You've Got a Friend in Me ". He only appears in Toy Story 3 through old home videos near the beginning of the film. Snake is a green and purple toy snake who communicates through hissing. It has brief appearances in the first two films, and only appears at the beginning of Toy Story 3 through old home videos. Troikas are a set of five non-talking egg -shaped toys that appear in Toy Story and Toy Story 2. They are various sizes, with one being able to fit inside another, like Matryoshka dolls. The Toddle Tots, as well as a Little Tikes fire truck , appear as one of Andy's toys in the first and second movies. A troll doll with pink hair and a blue bathing suit appears in the first two films. In the first film, it became fascinated with Buzz and is also seen lifting weights with him. In Toy Story 2, it is seen alongside Bo Peep, helping search for Woody's hat before Andy takes him along to cowboy camp. It briefly appears in Toy Story 3 through old home videos of Andy as a child. A group of Troll dolls also appears in the third film's opening sequence, in which they are portrayed as orphans on a runaway train during Andy's playtime. Barrel of Monkeys is a barrel used to contain red monkeys, whose arms connect to each other. In a brief appearance, the monkeys are lowered by Andy's other toys out of the bedroom window in an attempt to retrieve Buzz, but the plan fails as there are not enough monkeys. They make brief appearances in the next two films during Andy's playtime. A Barrel of Monkeys is also briefly featured as one of Bonnie's toys in the short film Hawaiian Vacation. Roly-Poly Clown is a roly-poly clown toy that makes jingling noises when it is wobbled. It only appeared in the first two movies. A hockey puck with yellow gloves and red boots appears in the first film after Mr. Potato Head tells Hamm that he is Picasso. Hamm doesn't get the joke, angering Mr. Potato Head, who then calls him an "uncultured swine. Potato Head asks what the hockey puck is looking at, and walks away Davis family[ edit ] Andy Davis voiced by John Morris in all four films, Charlie Bright in Toy Story 3 and Jack McGraw in Toy Story 4 [19] is the overarching protagonist of the Toy Story franchise and the original owner of Woody , Buzz Lightyear and the other toys in the first three films. He lives with his mother and his sister Molly until the third film, when he goes to college after turning .His father is never seen or mentioned in the films. In Toy Story 2, Andy's mother calls Woody "an old family toy" and Prospector calls him a hand-me-down toy. John Lasseter said "we always thought" that Woody was "kind of a hand-me-down" to Andy from his father. Davis was ultimately named after and based on Andy Luckey , the son of animator Bud Luckey , Pixar's fifth employee and the creator of Woody. Davis voiced by Laurie Metcalf [25] is Andy and Molly's single mother. Davis is presented as a loving mother to Andy and Molly, but is a major though indirect threat to the toys. Davis's actions regarding the toys sets the plot in motion in the first three films, though they are not malicious. In the first film, she purchases a Buzz Lightyear toy for Andy on his birthday, prompting the rivalry between Buzz and Woody which leads to them being lost and forced to find their way home. In the second film, she puts Wheezy up for sale at a yard sale, prompting Woody's rescue attempt where he is subsequently stolen by Al. In the third film, she orders Andy to clean out his room before going to college and mistakenly throws away the toys Andy planned to put in the attic. Despite this, in the second film, she is very protective of Woody, describing him as an old family toy. At the end of the third film, she breaks down and weeps at the departure of her son, but Andy reassures her that she will always be with him even if they are apart. This moment between mother and son plays a major factor in Woody's decision to have Andy donate his toys to Bonnie, thus giving them a new lease on their lives. Molly Davis voiced by Hannah Unkrich in Toy Story 2 and archived footage in Toy Story 3 and Bea Miller in Toy Story 3 is Andy's younger sister, seen as a baby in the first film, a toddler in the second film, and as a preteen in the third film. Andy uses her crib as a town jail during playtime at the beginning of the first film, showing they share a room. When the family moves later in the film, Andy and Molly get separate rooms, though Molly has plans to move into Andy's room once he leaves for college. In the first film, she slobbers on Mr. Potato Head and throws him from the crib, causing his parts to scatter and earning her the nickname "Princess Drool" from him. At the end of the film, she receives a Mrs. Potato Head toy for Christmas. In Toy Story 3, she also owned a Barbie doll, which she donates to the daycare center as she was less interested in dolls and toys by that time. Lee Unkrich later re-used the recordings of his daughter to portray Molly during old home video scenes at the beginning of Toy Story 3. Sid is known for torturing and destroying toys. Many of his toys are either destroyed or have pieces missing or replaced with parts from other toys. He is also shown tormenting his sister, Hannah, and destroying her toys, such as by blowing them up, burning them or decapitating them. He also enjoys skateboarding , and his shirt depicts a skull that would later be used as the logo for Zero Skateboards. Andy's toys mention that Sid was consistently kicked out of summer camp, and in the audio commentary on the 10th anniversary DVD, the directors mention that he is a bully but also the "most creative character in the movie". His parents do not make any major appearances: his mother's voice is only heard briefly several times in the film, and his father is only seen briefly asleep on a chair in front of a TV. He also has a dog named Scud. Sid is the only human character in the films to witness toys actually coming to life, when near the end of the first film, Woody and Sid's mutant toys decide to rescue Buzz by scaring Sid, which causes him to become very frightened of toys. The last straw is Woody coming alive while Sid is holding him and telling him to "play nice". This causes Sid to panic and run back into his house screaming, and then to his room when his sister scares him with her toy doll. Sid does not appear in the second film, although he is mentioned once by Buzz during the toys' mission to rescue Woody from the toy collector Al McWhiggin. Sid also appears in the four-issue Monsters, Inc. In the third film, Sid makes brief appearances in two scenes once again voiced by Erik von Detten. He is shown to be a garbage man with a small beard, recognizable by his characteristic skull shirt. His only dialogue in this film involves humming guitar riffs, and he is depicted listening to heavy metal music through a pair of large headphones. Hannah Phillips voiced by Sarah Freeman is Sid's sweet-natured, younger sister who appears a few times in the film. Hannah has adjusted to her toys being mutilated by Sid. Most of her dolls either have different heads or altered body parts, and at the end of the film she finds enjoyment in scaring her brother after he has been horrified by Woody and the other toys. She spends most of the time during the movie playing with her altered dolls. Scud is Sid's henchman and aggressive Bull Terrier. First appearing when Sid blows up a Combat Carl in his backyard with an explosive, Scud is shown to have a malicious intent towards toys as he lashes out barking and helping his owner torture them. His viciousness is first demonstrated when Sid sets a squeeze toy Alien on his nose and commands him to maul it mercilessly. Scud is an obstacle for Woody and Buzz as they try to escape Sid's house. Scud later spots Woody and Buzz trying to reach the moving van and pursues them, but is eluded when he runs after them into the middle of a traffic intersection and is trapped by the cars as they crash while trying to avoid him. Sid's and Hannah's toys[ edit ] The following toys belong to Sid and Hannah. Hannah has several dolls, although some have been beheaded by Sid. During the film, one of Hannah's dolls , Janie, is taken by Sid, who switches her head with that of a toy Pterodactyl. Hannah also has a doll named Sally. Sid has various mutant toys who are assembled by him from mixed pieces of several toys that belong to him and Hannah. Sid's mutant toys do not speak, but they understand Morse code. Buzz and Woody initially think that they are cannibals who are going to eat them, before they learn that the toys are actually friendly and compassionate. They surround Sid as Woody tells him how much they hate being mutilated, and they all rejoice in victory after Woody frightens Sid away with his own voice. After Sid is scared by his toys, he sees Sally, then runs off in fright, thinking that Sally will come to life. Sid's mutant toys include: Baby Face [16] is a one-eyed doll head staked on top of a spider -like body with crab -like pincers made of Erector Set pieces. He is the leader of the mutant toys. Baby Face is shown communicating with the other toys by banging in Morse code on the side of Sid's metal bedpost with his big claw. This method is used when he signals the other mutant toys to gather around to listen to Woody as he formulates his plan to rescue Buzz from Sid. When the mutant toys surround Sid, Baby Face, suspended by Legs, lands on Sid's head, scaring him instantly. Legs opens the vent grating so she and Ducky can go to the front porch, where Legs lowers Ducky through the hole Ducky created so Ducky can swing toward the doorbell. After Ducky catches the frog, Legs pulls both toys up to safety. Later, when the mutant toys advance on Sid, Legs lowers Babyface onto Sid's head, scaring him. Legs also appears in Toy Story Treats. A jack-in-the-box toy with a green arm that pops out. During Woody's plan to save Buzz from Sid, the toy extends its hand to Sid's doorknob , ready to open the door when the signal comes. The hand later grabs Sid's leg when the mutant toys surround him. The toy also appears in Toy Story Treats. Roller Bob is a jet pilot action figure, whose torso has been attached to a skateboard. After the frog is let out of Sid's room to distract Scud, Roller Bob ferries Woody and the other mutant toys outside the house to Sid's yard. Rock Mobile [15] is the head of a toy insect attached on top of a small, headless human torso toy who is holding a steering wheel. This torso is attached in the head socket of a larger, muscular human torso toy that is missing its legs. Pump Boy is a yellow convertible toy car with doll arms instead of wheels. It is capable of walking very fast and climbing walls. As part of the toys' rescue plan, Woody chooses Pump Boy to wind up the frog to distract Scud. A tin wind-up frog with two different wheels instead of back legs and without its left front foot. When Ducky rings the doorbell, the frog is let out of Sid's room, allowing Scud to chase him down the stairs and out to the front porch, where he is caught by Ducky, Legs reels both toys up to safety. Ducky is a triple toy combination: a duck -headed Pez dispenser with a doll torso and a plunger base. He and Legs go to the front porch via the vent, and Ducky, suspended from the porch ceiling by Legs, swings toward the doorbell until he finally activates it, giving Woody the signal to release the frog. Ducky catches the frog as Legs reels both toys up to safety. Jingle Joe first rolls out from under Sid's bed to fix Janie and the Pterodactyl. He notices Woody staring at them with a flashlight , so he turns it off, sending Woody running back to Buzz. Additionally, Sid has a non-mutant soldier toy called Combat Carl, who is blown up by him with an explosive device. The dolls, being decapitated , cannot talk, but they do wave when Buzz mentions them to Woody. The two dolls are also always seen sitting next to a headless teddy bear. They appear in all four films. In Toy Story 2, three aliens become part of Andy's toy collection and are adopted by Mrs. Potato Head, although Mr. Potato Head does not accept them as his own until he and the other toys are rescued from an incinerator by the aliens using a claw crane in Toy Story 3. In the third film, Mr. Potato Head refers to them as his boys, implying that all three are male. Inside the claw game are hundreds of squeeze toy aliens. When Buzz asks who is in charge, the Aliens say "The claw! Sid wins an alien from the claw game, then spots Buzz and tries to win him too. Woody attempts to save Buzz and escape through the claw game's maintenance hatch, but the Aliens stop him and say that they must not fight the claw. Woody, Buzz, and the alien get taken to Sid's house. Sid gives the Alien to his dog, Scud, who violently chews it as Woody and Buzz watch in horror. Near the end of the film, the same Alien is seen to be intact as he walks like a zombie towards Sid, as part of Woody's plan to scare him. In Toy Story 2, a trio of aliens are hanging above the dashboard in the Pizza Planet truck. Buzz groans when he sees them, remembering them from the claw game. When the toys are having trouble getting the truck to move, the aliens tell Mr. Potato Head to use the wand of power, referring to the truck's gear lever. They nearly fall out of the window, due to the sharp turns from Buzz trying to catch Al in his car. Potato Head saves the aliens, and they are thankful to him. Throughout the rest of the film, they frequently say "You have saved our lives. We are eternally grateful. Potato Head's dismay. The Aliens join the quest to save Woody and mistake the entrance to the baggage area for the mystic portal. Back home, the trio, along with Bullseye and Jessie, end up becoming some of Andy's toys. They say their gratefulness to Mr. Potato Head, and Mrs. Potato Head is so happy that he saved their lives, she decides they should adopt them, with the Aliens calling Mr. Potato Head "Daddy". In the present time, the trio continues to express their gratefulness to Mr. Potato Head. They are later donated to Sunnyside along with the rest of Andy's toys. In Sunnyside, the Aliens find a toy crane, which reminds them of the claw game in Pizza Planet. The Aliens get sat on and bounced on during a rough playtime with the toddlers. The toys plan to escape Sunnyside. The Aliens have to go through the playground with Woody and ride on Bullseye. They almost get caught by Big Baby because one of the Aliens falls off Bullseye and squeaks, but manage to hide inside a pail. Later when Andy's toys escape, one of the Alien's feet gets stuck in the lid of a dumpster. After Woody rescues the Alien, Lotso, who had been thrown into the bin by Big Baby, grabs Woody's feet and pulls him into the bin out of revenge just as the garbage truck arrives. The toys fall into the truck, which transports them to a landfill. The Aliens are separated from the others by a bulldozer when they wander off, having spotted a crane. They are later revealed to be in control of a giant claw crane, which they used to rescue the other toys from an incinerator after they were abandoned by Lotso. Potato Head finally acknowledges them as his children, reciting their repetitive line, "You have saved our lives. They also appear in Toy Story 4. They appear in the film Lightyear in a mid-credit scene as a statue on Commander Burnsides shelf. In Toy Story 2, Jessie is initially hesitant to join Andy's toys due to her past experience with her owner Emily. After she becomes part of the family, she is very happy. In Toy Story 3, she believes Andy threw her and the other toys out, she argues with Woody, who tells the other toys that Andy was actually putting them in the attic, none of the other toys believe this until Mrs. Potato Head sees through an eye that she misplaced in a corner in Andy's room that Andy is looking for his toys and complaining that they are missing. Later in the film, Jessie becomes close with Buzz, especially when he is in Spanish mode. Jessie also appears in Pixar's television special Toy Story of Terror! Bullseye is an extremely loyal toy horse and is part of the collection. In the fictional Woody's Roundup television series, Bullseye is portrayed as Woody's horse. In Toy Story 2, he was happy to finally see Woody after a long time in storage. Bullseye is shown to loathe fights as he hides in a can when Jessie jumps on Woody. He is also upset at Woody's intention to abandon the Roundup Gang to return to Andy. When Woody decides to return to Andy, it is Bullseye's loyalty that causes Woody to try to get the other Roundup toys to join him. Unlike most of the other toys, Bullseye cannot communicate in anthropomorphic speech but typically remains silent, communicating via body language and occasional sounds resembling a realistic horse or dog. He is also brave, gentle, sweet and rather sensitive. Bullseye returns in Toy Story 3 as one of the remaining toys in Andy's room and has a small role in Toy Story 4. Stinky Pete commonly known as the Prospector voiced by Kelsey Grammer is a prospector doll and one of the two main antagonists of the second film. He is a toy modeled after a character on the fictional television show Woody's Roundup, which also includes the characters of Woody , Jessie , and Bullseye. The Prospector doll seen in the film had never been opened and was still mint in the box. In contrast to the buffoonish, dimwitted nature of the character on the show, Prospector is intelligent, ruthless, manipulative, and well-spoken. He openly expresses his hatred for space toys like Buzz Lightyear, whom he blames for causing Woody's Roundup to be cancelled after the launch of Sputnik , which made children all over America lose their interest in western toys, shifting to space adventures instead. Prospector believes the Roundup Gang should be put on display in a toy museum, as planned, stating that children destroy toys. He secretly disrupts Woody's escape attempt and frames Jessie for the sabotage. Later, he openly intervenes when Woody asks the Roundup Gang to come home with him. After a final confrontation at the airport, Andy's toys stuff Prospector into a backpack belonging to Amy, a girl who takes him in as her new toy. In one outtake, he is seen talking to two Barbie dolls in the box, saying that he could probably get them a role in the third film, this outtake was later deleted in the home media reissue, which media outlets inferred as a result of the Me Too movement. He believes the original Buzz has escaped his box, and captures him inside one. He is then mistaken by Andy's toys to be the original Buzz and goes with them to rescue Woody, until he decides to join his father, Zurg. He usually carries an "ion blaster" that actually fires plastic balls. Zurg is mentioned in the first film under the title of the "Evil Emperor Zurg", but does not appear. Zurg claims he is the father of Buzz, in an almost word-for-word homage to the famous scene in The Empire Strikes Back. He is knocked down the elevator shaft by one of Andy's toys, Rex. In Toy Story 3, another Zurg appears briefly during a sequence in the end credits, where he is donated to Sunnyside Daycare center and greeted by the resident toys. In the game, he has a convertible the ZurgsMobile that matches his personality. Zurg's mini counterpart is featured in the short film Small Fry. A Zurg toy appears in the live-action Disney film Tomorrowland , in the Blast from the Past toy store. Zurg reveals he is 50 years older than the protagonist Buzz Lightyear. Zurg is the sound his robot minions make in reference to him B'Zurg. The now-aged Buzz, assuming the identity of Zurg, controlling a mecha suit, travels back in time to confront his younger self and fix a mistake he perceives he made. Zurg has become consumed with regret, resentment, and obsessed with his own "mission". He has utterly missed out on life, and blind to others experiences. In the final fight, this Zurg is seen being blown up in the final fight, but is revealed to be alive in a Post-credits scene. However, fans speculate that this might not be the real Zurg. A pair of Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots appear in Al's office. When Slinky asks them if they have seen Woody, the two robots argue over which of them Slinky was asking. They fight each other in a boxing match, with the blue robot beating the red robot. Al is first seen in Toy Story 2 during an advertisement of his toy store in which he is dressed up in a chicken suit. Al is a collector of all things related to the old Woody's Roundup television show. He is greedy, unscrupulously obsessive, overweight, extremely impatient, and lazy, as he complains of having to drive all the way to work on a Saturday, despite his apartment only being across the street from the store. This is how Buzz figured out that Al was the kidnapper of Woody. Other[ edit ] Mrs. Potato Head voiced by Estelle Harris is Mr. Potato Head's wife. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Potato Head is sweet and easy going and not as hot-headed or impatient. She is mentioned in the first film, but is not seen until Toy Story 2. She has a larger role in Toy Story 3 as for most of the film, one of her eyes is lost in Andy's room, and it is through this eye that she sees Andy complaining that his toys are missing, causing the other toys to realize that Andy never intended to throw them away. She views the Aliens as her own children, but her husband does not share this view until the Aliens save them from the incinerator. Potato Head reappears in the theatrical short film Hawaiian Vacation and acts as a tour guide for Ken and Barbie in their Hawaiian adventures. Toy Story 4 was Harris' final film role before her retirement and death in .He is introduced when Woody finds him on a shelf, after Andy accidentally ripped Woody's arm and his mom took him, where Wheezy had been placed after his squeaker broke, upsetting Andy. Wheezy does not directly appear in Toy Story 3, except in footage showing Andy as a young boy. Woody says that Wheezy was one of Andy's toys who went to new owners. The Cleaner voiced by Jonathan Harris is an elderly specialist in toy restoration and repair with a fully loaded toy repair kit. He comes to Al's apartment to fix Woody up in preparation of selling him to the toy museum. He insists that Al let him take his time with the work and views it as more than a simple job, asserting, "You can't rush art. In Toy Story 2, one of the drawers in the cleaner's carrying case contains chess pieces, a reference to the short film. Emily is Jessie's former owner and is mentioned by her in the film. As a young girl, she was a fan of Woody's Roundup and enjoyed playing with Jessie. However, as she got older, she became more interested in makeup and talking with her friends on the phone, causing her to forget about Jessie, who had fallen under her bed, for years. As a teenager, she rediscovers Jessie, but promptly donates her to charity, causing Jessie to develop claustrophobia and a fear of being abandoned. In Toy Story 3, as Andy prepares to leave for college, and the toys begin to worry about their future, Jessie describes the situation as "Emily all over again. In Toy Story 2, Buster is very energetic but friendly. He obeys commands given to him by Woody although he does not obey orders from Andy , who uses Buster to rescue Wheezy from a yard sale. In Toy Story 3, Buster is now old, visibly aged, and overweight. Because of that, he is unable to help Woody rescue Andy's other toys, instead falling asleep. He stays with Mrs. Davis while Andy goes to college. The Crazy Critters are the name given to several small animal cutouts that are friends of the roundup gang. They are often seen in the show Woody's Roundup accompanying the characters, as well as in several pieces of merchandise themed to it. The critters also serve as the vehicles for Jessie's Critter Carousel, and some horse critters help pull a cart that people board on the ride Woody's Round-Up. The Zurg Bots voiced by Angus MacLane in Lightyear are Zurg's robot henchman that appear in a Buzz Lightyear video game that Rex plays in the beginning of the film, where they are antagonists. The Zurg Bots each have a "Z" symbol on their center standing for "Zurg", a laser built into their right arms, and miniature versions of the Zurg Bots built into their shoulder armor. Rex, playing as Buzz, shoots a crystal near him with his laser, causing several lasers to shoot towards each Zurg Bot surrounding him, and causing an explosion. The Zurg Bots reappear in the film Lightyear, where they are named Zyclopses, and act similarly to how they did in Toy Story 2, acting as henchman to Zurg. In Lightyear, they can speak, but the only word they can say is "Zurg". Introduced in Toy Story 3 [ edit ] The third film, Toy Story 3 , features a total of characters. Sunnyside toys[ edit ] The following toys live at the Sunnyside Daycare center: Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear often shortened to Lotso voiced by Ned Beatty is a plush, pink teddy bear with a Southern accent and Italian origin. He is the main antagonist of the third film. He has a limp from falling off a truck in early years, and uses a wooden toy mallet as an assistive cane although he is still able to walk without it. Lotso is the leader of the toys at the Sunnyside Daycare, and initially acts like a kind-hearted and wise caretaker, but is eventually revealed to be a ruthless and deceptive prison warden. When Daisy fell asleep and accidentally left them at a rest stop , Lotso led the toys on a long journey home, only to find that Daisy's parents had replaced him with a duplicate. Embittered beyond the point of insanity , Lotso lied to Big Baby that Daisy had replaced all of them, then intimidated Chuckles who knew the truth into silence and forced them both to come with him to Sunnyside. There, he established a totalitarian rule, depriving toys of the Butterfly Room unless they earn it, forbidding them from leaving or escaping back to their owners and ensuring that the only way out is through the trash, which he believes is where all toys are destined. He often assigned new toys to the Caterpillar Room, where destructive toddlers who were too young to properly play with toys threw them and some broke while he and his henchmen reserved themselves in the butterfly room where they were played with properly. When Woody reveals Lotso's true character, all of Lotso's henchmen turn on him and Big Baby throws Lotso in the dumpster. Lotso, seeking revenge, pulls Woody into the dumpster, resulting in Andy's toys jumping in to save him just as the garbage truck arrives. All of them end up at the dump on a conveyor belt leading to an incinerator. Lotso, getting free with Woody and Buzz's help, reaches an emergency stop button, but decides at the last minute to abandon the others to be burned so that they can't return to Andy. Unknown to Lotso, however, his efforts are in vain as Andy's toys are saved by the Aliens using a giant claw. Hamm and Slinky wish to avenge themselves on Lotso for his betrayal, but Woody convinces them he isn't worth it, feeling that the dump is where he belongs. Lotso, meanwhile, attempts to escape the dump, but a garbage man who had owned a Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear during his childhood finds Lotso and straps him to the grill of his truck as a decoration. Lotso was intended to be in the first film, [32] but the technology to represent realistic fur was not available until Monsters, Inc. A Lotso bear also makes a cameo appearance in Pixar's film Up. He lives in Ken's Dreamhouse, a big yellow dollhouse with three stories, a large wardrobe room, and an elevator. He was originally one of Lotso's henchmen, which caused a temporary strain in his relationship with Barbie. He later turns on Lotso after understanding of his true nature and encourages Lotso's crew to do the same. After Lotso's defeat, he and Barbie renew their relationship and become the new leaders of Sunnyside's toy population, keeping in touch with Bonnie's toys through letters sent home in Bonnie's backpack. Big Baby voiced by Woody Smith is a baby doll with a lazy eye who carries around a bottle and is adorned with childlike scribbling that resembles ferocious tattoos. He is a supporting antagonist for most of the third film, but later reforms. As a sentient toy, he has the biological traits of a human infant. He normally does not speak, instead communicating through baby sounds, with the exception of one spoken line "Mama" after the toys escape Sunnyside. He acts as Lotso's assistant and enforcer, who helps guide the new toys around, and punishes them when they misbehave. He, Lotso and Chuckles were all once owned by Daisy before they were left behind. When Lotso found Daisy had replaced him, he lied to Big Baby and Chuckles, telling them that they were replaced, too. They traveled to Sunnyside, and took it over. He then helps Ken and Barbie reform Sunnyside, and is last seen wearing a new outfit matching one of Ken's. The baby who provided the voice for Big Baby is named "Woody", according to director Lee Unkrich , [36] and the film's credits list him as Woody Smith. Other Sunnyside toys[ edit ] Other toys at Sunnyside, with smaller roles, include: Twitch voiced by John Cygan is a green insect action figure with a bug's head, chomping mandibles , wings, and two muscular arms. He is a supporting antagonist, but later reforms. He serves as one of the toy thugs working for Lotso, and helps to reprogram Buzz and apprehend Andy's other toys. He also operates a searchlight in the playground to look out for escaped toys. He later turns against Lotso after learning of his true nature. During the credits, he is seen living in a happier Sunnyside and is shown taking a turn to endure playtime with the young children in the Caterpillar Room, switching with Chunk so he can rest. The Farmer Says see n say. An educational toy used to teach animal sounds. The original machine from which was yellow, and a pull string as the ignition of the machine, when pulled makes the arrow spin, and when lands on an animal, the farmer says the name and the sound it makes. It is used in a snack machine by Lotso's henchman as a roulette table. Stretch voiced by Whoopi Goldberg is a toy rubber octopus with a purple body. She is the only female member of Lotso's gang, and at first welcomes Andy's toys, but later helps capture them with her elastic arms. After they escape, she traps them near the edge of a garbage chute and is ready to push them into the dumpster, should they not admit defeat. She is then seen visibly cringing at Lotso's true character being revealed. After understanding the true nature of Lotso, she turns on him. Eventually, Lotso angrily orders Stretch to push the toys into the dumpster, which she refuses to do. Lotso is then thrown into the dumpster by Big Baby for his lies and treachery, and Stretch immediately leaves the area. In the credits, she welcomes new toys happily and is later seen sneaking a message to Woody and his friends in Bonnie's backpack. Chunk voiced by Jack Angel is an orange rock monster toy and one of Lotso's henchmen who eventually helps imprison Andy's toys. He later turns on Lotso after learning of his true nature. In the credits, he is seen enduring the abuse of the younger children, and later taking a rest while Twitch takes his place. He only has one line, when he points out Chunk's low intelligence. Chatter Telephone voiced by Teddy Newton is a character based on the real-life toy of the same name. He can only speak when his receiver is lifted from its cradle. He lives in the Caterpillar Room, and has been at Sunnyside for years. He becomes an ally to Woody. When Woody returns to Sunnyside, Chatter Telephone says that coming back was a mistake because Lotso had since improved his security. He takes Woody to the window and explains that the trash chute is now the only way toys leave Sunnyside. Although his advice is to lay low, he reluctantly gives Woody instructions on how to escape Sunnyside. For this, he is later beaten and broken by Lotso's crew for helping the toys escape until he finally talks. He apologizes to Woody. In the credits, he has been repaired and is shown happily attending a toy party in the Butterfly Room. Bookworm voiced by Richard Kind is a green toy worm with a built-in flashlight who wears glasses. He keeps a library of instruction manuals in a closet at Sunnyside, and gives Lotso the instruction manual for Buzz Lightyear. He later gives the same manual to Barbie whom he mistakes for Ken since she is disguised in his spacesuit outfit. In the credits, he is seen happily using his flashlight to light a disco ball during a party at Sunnyside. He only has two lines in the film. A monkey toy, based on the Musical Jolly Chimp toy from the s, monitors the Sunnyside Daycare security cameras at night, and can alert Lotso and his henchmen of any toys attempting to escape by screeching into a microphone to broadcast over the intercom. Chatter Telephone tells Woody that he must subdue the monkey before he and his friends can escape. Woody and Slinky manage to wrap the monkey up in adhesive tape , and subsequently lock it in a filing cabinet. In the credits, the monkey is still monitoring the security cameras, but is seen happily playing its cymbals while wearing star-shaped sunglasses. A jack-in-the-box toy has one line in the film when he greets Andy's toys, exclaiming, "New toys! She was modeled after the doll Great Shape Barbie. The two have a whirlwind romance and move into Ken's Dreamhouse together. Barbie later dumps Ken when she finds out he is a member of Lotso's gang. She allows herself to be imprisoned with Andy's toys, out of loyalty, and later tricks Ken into showing her some of his clothes, only to attack and tie him up and interrogate him about Lotso's schemes. She later takes a stand with Woody and the other toys against Lotso, impressing them with her articulate arguments. She and Ken reunite when he confesses his love and defects to Woody's side, claiming Barbie is not just one of "a hundred million" as Lotso says, but unique and special to him. Barbie is the only one of Andy's toys not involved in the adventure at the dump, and she, Big Baby, and Ken later take over Sunnyside Daycare and reform it from a prison to a loving, welcoming family. Barbie has a cameo appearance in Toy Story 4 during the flashback scene in Molly's room, in which she and two other Barbies help save RC. She also appears with Ken visiting Woody's toys in Hawaiian Vacation. Bonnie's family[ edit ] Bonnie Anderson voiced by in Emily Hahn in Toy Story 3 , short films, television specials and Madeleine McGraw in Toy Story 4 [38] is one of the children who attends Sunnyside Daycare, where her mother is the receptionist. In Toy Story 3, Andy donates his toys to her before he leaves for college. In Toy Story of Terror, she and her mother are stranded at a motel, and she later discovers the manager has been stealing her toys to sell on the internet. In Small Fry, Bonnie forgets Buzz in a fast-food restaurant's ball pit and does not notice that the mini-buzz has taken his place. Partysaurus Rex reveals that Bonnie has an extensive collection of bath toys, and that the regular toys fear being included in her bath time. In Toy Story 4, Bonnie creates a toy called Forky out of trash, on her first day of kindergarten. In Small Fry , she takes Bonnie to a fast-food chicken restaurant named Poultry Palace and inadvertently takes the wrong Buzz Lightyear toy when they depart. In Toy Story of Terror! She also appears in Toy Story 4. Bonnie's toys[ edit ] Bonnie has several toys: Chuckles voiced by Bud Luckey is a brokenhearted toy clown who was once owned by Daisy along with Lotso and Big Baby. After he, Big Baby and Lotso were lost in the countryside, Chuckles lived at Sunnyside for many years before being broken and later taken home by Bonnie. He kept the pendant that Big Baby used to wear that had Daisy's name on it, and gives it to Woody, it is later destroyed by Lotso. Chuckles returns in the short film Hawaiian Vacation and he sings a Hawaiian song while playing a ukulele when Barbie and Ken get their recreated Hawaiian adventures. He also appears in Small Fry. He does not appear in the fourth film, possibly owing to Bud Luckey's retirement prior to the beginning of production. He wears lederhosen and a Tyrolean hat , and views himself as an actor. Throughout Toy Story 3, he expresses great interest in theater arts and takes role playing as a child's toy very seriously. Buttercup refers to him sarcastically as "Baron von Shush" due to his habit of shushing the other toys when they break character. During the credits, he plays Romeo in a play of Romeo and Juliet , with one of the alien toys playing Juliet. Trixie voiced by Kristen Schaal is a blue toy Triceratops. She chats online with "a dinosaur toy down the street" who goes by the name "Velocistar". During the credits, she and Rex play a game cooperatively on a computer. Buttercup voiced by Jeff Garlin is a stuffed white unicorn. Despite his name and appearance, he has a very gruff voice and sarcastic personality. He is the first to introduce himself to Woody when Bonnie brings him home. He later appears in the film's end credits, having befriended the similarly sardonic Hamm. Dolly voiced by Bonnie Hunt is a soft dress-up rag doll and the leader of Bonnie's toys as of the events of Toy Story 4. In the Toy Story 3 video game , she is seen as a witch. Peas-in-a-Pod voiced by Charlie Bright, Amber Kroner, and Brianna Maiwand are three plush green peas in a green zip-up case that looks like a pea pod. They have the personalities of small children, and their names are Peaty, Peatrice, and Peanelope. They do not appear in Toy Story 4, other than the drawing of them Bonnie had from the previous film. Totoro is the title character from My Neighbor Totoro and the mascot of Studio Ghibli , and appears as a big plush toy. He does not speak during the film, nor is he spoken to. According to the tie-in book, The Art of Toy Story 3,[ citation needed ] Totoro's appearance in the film was intended as a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki , who is a close friend of former Pixar executive John Lasseter. Trixie, Dolly, Buttercup, and Mr. Pricklepants return in Toy Story 4 and the short films. Trixie and Mr. Pricklepants also return in the television specials. Daisy is a little girl who appears in flashbacks. She initially owned Lotso, Big Baby and Chuckles, but accidentally left them behind at a rest area along the road. In order to pacify her, Daisy's parents bought her another Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear rather than going to find Lotso and the rest of her toys, which made Lotso think he had been forgotten about, and changed him into a sinister, ruthless toy. Lotso lied to Big Baby, claiming Daisy replaced all of them, and made him come to Sunnyside and take it over. Chuckles keeps Big Baby's lost pendant, however, and it is revealed Big Baby still loves Daisy much to Lotso's dismay when he sees the pendant again. Introduced in Toy Story 4 [ edit ] Mr. He appears briefly in Toy Story 3, but does not have any lines, nor is his face clearly seen until Toy Story 4. They no longer get played with by Bonnie, and thus, are stashed away in her closet. Melephant is a blue elephant , Chairol is a green toddler's chair , Bitey is a teether in the form of a tiger , and Carl is a purple rhinoceros. Each toy has visible damage caused due to wear and tear, with crayon scribbles, scratches, bite marks, and paint wearing away. Each of the four toys' names are puns on their voice actors. Forky voiced by Tony Hale is a sentient plastic spork with googly eyes , pipe cleaner arms and popsicle stick legs. He was created by Bonnie, but he does not believe that he is a toy and he hates being able to come to life. He considers himself as trash, and Woody has to prevent him from throwing himself away. While considering names for the character, director Josh Cooley showed a picture of the character to his son and asked for a suggestion on the name. Cooley's son, approximately four years old at the time, suggested the name Fork Face, and Cooley later said "The fact that he's around the same age as Bonnie and didn't know what a spork was, I thought, 'That feels real to me. Like Forky, she was created by Bonnie and initially considers herself as trash. She appears in a mid-credits scene , in which she is introduced by Jessie after Bonnie's first day in first grade. Forky instantly falls in love with her. He is friends with Bunny, and also wants to be won. During her time in the store, she has become like a godfather , with a set of ventriloquist dummies as her henchmen. Woody eventually gives her his voice box in return for Forky's freedom and persuades her to place herself in a position for a lost young girl to find her and take her home. Cooley also cites Vito Corleone from The Godfather film series as an influence for Gabby's control over the dummies who served as her enforcers. Tinny is actually the main character of Pixar's first short, Tin Toy. Tinny was also planned to be the main protagonist of Toy Story until he was replaced by what would become the basis for Buzz Lightyear. Dragon is a gray cat who lives in Second Chance Antiques and loves to destroy all toys. Harmony is the granddaughter of the antique store's owner. Gabby Gabby hopes to obtain a voice box to get Harmony's attention, but even after Woody gives Gabby his voice box, Harmony still shows no interest. Rejean is a boy who appears in flashbacks. Duke Caboom is given to Rejean for Christmas , but because TV toy commercials greatly exaggerated Duke's abilities , Rejean becomes disappointed that Duke cannot jump through hoops, and throws Duke away on Boxing Day , believing he is defective. When Duke Caboom and Woody are on a mission to rescue Forky and Bo Peep's sheep, Duke hallucinates an angry Rejean's head watching him, and loses control. Introduced in Lightyear [ edit ] Izzy Hawthorne voiced by Keke Palmer and Keira Hairston is the granddaughter of Alisha, whom Buzz meets in the future as a result of multiple hyper-speed tests. She is the leader of Junior Zap Patrol, a volunteer team of cadets training to become protectors of the nascent society that has taken shape on the planet. Sox voiced by Peter Sohn is a robotic cat and Buzz's personal companion. A gift from Alisha after his first hyper-speed test, Sox is programmed to provide personal and emotional support for Buzz, and is equipped with a number of accessories. Despite being programmed with artificial intelligence , he occasionally shows signs of a real cat, including expressing satisfaction from being petted and getting distracted by laser pointers. Mo Morrison voiced by Taika Waititi is a naive, neurotic space cadet who Buzz befriends. Darby Steel voiced by Dale Soules is an elderly space cadet and paroled criminal who Buzz befriends. Initially serving a prison sentence, she joins the cause of Junior Zap Patrol in exchange for having her time reduced. She is an explosives expert. She is one of Izzy's grandmothers. Initially exploring the planet of T'Kani Prime with Buzz and newly recruited Featheringstam, the three of them are forced to abort after learning of the plants hostile life forms. Due to time dilation as a result of Buzz's multiple hyper-speed tests, Alisha dies due to old age and leaves a recording for Buzz, stating she's sorry she won't get to see him finish the mission.

A little bit about us Here at London Doodles we believe a good family pet can only be created when born and bred from good pets; which cannot be achieved by breeding from dogs kept in kennels. The modern day dog is becoming less and less of a working dog in the traditional sense — their new role is to provide joy to their families. Knowing what I want from my breed and what I am already achieving is what motivates to dedicate my life to these wonderful breeds. We are small home breeders — a mother and a daughter team. Our aim at London Doodles is to work towards a multigenerational dog with a diverse genetic make up. Similar to the ;Australian Labradoodle;, except bred with our own lines so we fully know the breed inside out. We strive to create well balanced dogs suitable as pets or therapy dogs. This idea was started many years ago, but due to the ways in which the breed was founded I decided it is best to do it my way, the most ethical way I can. I want to create a breed of dog which is free from inherited conditions, with a vast gene pool, which would help with the stability of the breed. Labradoodles are well known now for their intelligence and great temperament. But many modern homes want a non shedding dog, making the labradoodle a great choice. We have mummy dogs in guardian homes, which are specially selected parents who care for the dog as their family pet, and in return for financial care, training and support for their dog, I maintain breeding rights. All of our dogs have loving homes for life, and never spend a day in kennels. Contact Us Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.

Bobbie is a certified BAB Puppy Evaluator and we temperament test our litters to help families find just the right puppy. We're also proud to have been accepted, with an Excellent rating, into the Good Breeder Program at gooddog. We learned about labradoodles several years ago. We were looking to add a dog to our family that had a great temperament and didn't shed much. We had previously owned a labrador that we loved to death, but we wanted to avoid fur covering every inch of our floor again. Our first labradoodle, Cooper, was so much more than we dared hope for and the reason we decided to go into breeding. He has a lab temperament. He's calm, sweet, devoted, patient, loving and loyal. And he doesn't shed at all. We were so in love with him, that we decided one labradoodle in our home was simply not enough. Why Australian Labradoodles? Because they are, in our view, the perfect dog. They are so sweet, love their humans so much, are so devoted and wonderful with children, and they are so smart. They are known for their beauty and looks, but the Australian Labradoodle's gorgeous coat is just the icing on a very delicious cake! We hope you take a few minutes to look around our site and get to know us and our dogs. We'd love to hear from you if you have any questions! Contact Us. Well, I know it took a while, but they got to Texas as fast as they could! I wanted to raise a family friendly, non-shedding dog that would be good with my grandchildren. Australian Labradoodles are amazingly gentle and protective with children and are very low to non-shedding. We do extensive testing on our breeding dogs. So please understand as much as you would like to visit with your puppies as they grow I can no longer allow this until they are 7 weeks. I will send out emails with pictures or videos weekly. No outside dogs are allowed at anytime. Thank you for understanding how important it is for me to keep the puppies safe. If you do visit other breeders, please do so on a different day that you visit. Von Ward Kennels will take back any puppy at any time in their lives if their owners can no longer care for them. Please never take a Von Wards dog to a shelter if you can no longer keep them. While most of our dogs are larger than the standard, we do have a couple of breeding females that are within standard.
