Amanda Seda Client My mom had been looking for a frenchie for a while but was very skeptical about breeders and where she would find one. When we found Emma now Maddie we fell in love. Olivia Laurent Client I wanted to make a money transfer but I experienced difficulties with my bank. Even so, Michael and his wife were not nervous at all. They helped make the whole process go smoothly and I came back home with a nice 10 week old baby. We researched for 2 years and kept coming back to Mike before finally purchasing a puppy from him. Mike is extremely professional, attentive, and willing to answer all questions throughout the adoption process!! We recently just purchased puppy princess from him and the process was so smooth. What a joy she is, and Michael was tremendously helpful and informative as I have been in touch with him past several days. He immediately replied and that he would put her on hold for me which I appreciated. Dali S Mar Client The pictures and descriptions Michael and his wife provided for each dog are amazing and really helped me chose which Frenchie was the best for me. They were more than willing to allow me to come and see Fink before I chose him, as well as other dogs they had available. I couldn't be happier. His puppies are healthy, beautiful and such personalities. What a truly wonderful experience. She is a very active , healthy , and rambunctious girl and we are very grateful to Bulldogs4ever for providing her to us. Yuliya Yuli Client I was referred to bulldogs4ever by a friend who had recently gotten a Frenchie from them. Baymax is about to turn 2 and he is incredible. The sweetest most loving Frenchie who is ready to spend all day hanging out on the couch or running around in circles in the backyard Sabrina Marcial Client Scott and I had a great experience with Michael and the quality of the puppy that he provided. She exceeded our expectations, was fairly priced, and appears to have come from a very loving environment as she loves people and is well socialized. Ninca Poucher Client Mike and his wife were awesome! Really attentive and really cared for their babies. A friend of ours got a beautiful frenchie Tiger from Mike! Mike and his wife came highly recommended and we know why! They are awesome frenchie breeders. He is the most amazing puppy and we could not be happier. He was perfectly healthy and still is! Thanks Mike! It's our first dog experience, and we couldn't be happier. My favorite thing about working with Michael is his long-term responsiveness. Becca McBride Client After my Frenchie puppy passed away at only 3 months, I searched everyday for another one just like him. He was very cooperative and patient with all the questions and requests I had. Spring D. Stiff Client Seriously amazing!! Mike answered any questions or concerns through the process and we couldn't love our little guy more! Such a caring and trustworthy breeder! Not to mention how adorable all of his pups are! Everyone always asks us where we got our frenchie from. So glad we found Mike! We were very satisfied with the entire process. He let us visit, gave us all the information needed and made us feel confident about our decision. Zoe is an amazing dog, has never had any issues, very well behaved. Ana Negri Client Mike not only provides amazing puppies, he also provides amazing service. I have a boy, which I purchased from a breeder out of state, but I was looking to get a girl here in Miami. I didn't want to have to travel or have the puppy shipped. I looked for quite a while and finally came across Mike. I got a beautiful baby girl from Mike, which is absolutely perfect and the sweetest dog ever. Laura Ferreira Client We got a beautiful little black and white boy from him a year ago. He has become the clown of our family. He loves his 50lb pitbull sister, his fat feline brother. He has a fantastic relationship with our 18 month old son. My husband and him are attached at the hip. Jennifer Whalen Client I was fortunate to be referred to Michael by a friend who's sister in law had just gotten her frenchie puppy from him. I had done research for some time and couldn't find anyone I trusted in or around the Atlanta area. The process was extremely easy and I ended up getting a puppy from the same litter. More About AEF.The mild-mannered and even-tempered Frenchie is bred for the house. Emotional, small-statured, intelligent, and attentive they make very obedient pets. We take great care in breeding our puppies to be healthy. We strive to pair our clients with their perfect doggie soul mate. By owning and caring for our own babies we know the connection and joy that French Bulldogs give to their new parents. All pups come with a one year health guarantee against any life threatening illness. Producing a healthy and sound pup is AFE main priority. In the s, when the Industrial Revolution drove the craftsmen to France, they took their dogs with them. French Bulldog is a pleasant, easy-care companion who is playful, alert and affectionate. They are enthusiastic and lively, without being yappy and loud. They have a very comical personality and loves to clown around. They are bright and easygoing. The Frenchie gets along well with strangers and other animals and enjoys being with its owner. They play well with other dogs. Those puppies that are allowed to believe they are alpha may become dog aggressive. This breed needs leadership and will not thrive without it. The Frenchie cannot be owned and ignored. When they sense an owner is meek or passive toward them, they will become very stubborn and even snappish. They can be trained if the owner is calm, but firm, consistent and patient. Proper human to canine communication is essential. Do not give them affection or sweet talk them if they are displaying any type of unwanted behaviors; instead correct them sternly with an air of calm authority. French Bulldogs are clean, and most will try to avoid puddles. Most cannot swim so take caution around water. This breed does best with considerate children who know how to display proper leadership. This breed may drool and slobber, however a good percentage of them do not. They are also a relentless hunter of mice. Do not allow this sweet little bully to develop Small Dog Syndrome.

I was able to get quick responses and knowledgeable input from the breeder. My puppy is healthy, happy, and easy going. She had the best personality and was raised right up to the point we got her! We are just over the moon happy with our experience. The breeder truly is so helpful and even offers continual support and advice after you pick up your puppy. She has messaged asking how our puppy settled in to her new home and truly cares! Reviewer: Natalie, October 25, .She was just amazing! Very kind in explaining everything about my puppy, it sure was a big difference in my decision! We are very happy with our choice with Rose Capital Goldens and Doodles and our amazing puppy! This was our first dog buying experience. Jen was absolutely wonderful in assisting us. We got a Golden Retriever from her in August of and we could not be more happy with our purchase. After leaving another breeder because we were not comfortable , Jen proved to be a God send. Our puppy is the perfect addition. Throughout the process Jen has been extremely responsive, even at 2am, and patient. She posts all sorts or adorable pics of the puppies and parents thus you are never in the dark about their development until you bring them home. Even when they are home, Jen is still just as responsive! She's truly a fairy dog mother. She cares about the pups, loves what she does and it shows! Jen is an incredible breeder and she has been there for us every step of the way! When we picked up Hank he was on a schedule that we followed- which made it a lot easier for us when we got home. We stuck to the schedule which made is easy for potty training. Anytime I have a question about something, she is very responsive and helpful. I am so thankful for Jen and have recommend her to my family and friends. This past week we needed her more than ever. Freaked out and unable to afford this I called Jen for some advice and guidance on what to do. Jen gave me a list of things to get at Wal Mart and steps to take the next days. I seriously do not have enough words to describe how amazing Jen is! For my birthday in April my boyfriend surprised me with a F1 goldendoodle puppy. When he went to get him, he said he felt so comfortable with Jen and she gave him so many tips for first time puppy owners. Ever since then I have been in contact with her so many times. Since I've never had a dog of my own before, I freak out about the littlest of things and Jen knows exactly what to say and do and how to help and how to calm me down when I might be overreacting! I really don't know how she does it all. My goldendoodle is the best dog ever and it's all thanks to Jen! I really don't know what I would do without her support. And if we decide to get another puppy in the future, it will definitely be from Jen. When he went to pick my Jolie up, Jen gave him a detailed training schedule, a good amount of puppy food, and an open invitation to contact her with ANY questions. When I did have questions, Jen was available and gave me great advice. I could not have asked for a better breeder to interact with. I would and probably will in the future adopt another doodle from Jen and will recommend all my friends to her as well! My goldendoodle, Phoebe, is the best gift I could have ever asked for. Jen updated me weekly and sent me pictures before I was able to pick up my puppy. She also has always offered to continue to help me even after giving me Phoebe. A month after having Phoebe she got really sick and was throwing up constantly. Jen offered to come all the way to Weatherford to give me meds and ultrasound her stomach to make sure she was okay. She will do anything for you and stays in contact! I love Jen, she is absolutely amazing!!! Every interaction with Jen has been amazing. When I messaged her, I got a prompt, informative response. After talking on the phone, I knew I had to have one of her pups. I put down my deposit for Biscuit - a beautiful F1 goldendoodle boy and counted down the days until he was old enough to be mine! Jen updated me with pictures of him until he was ready to come home. She loves to see pictures of Biscuit as he grows and is always there if I have questions - just a text away. This breeder is absolutely incredible. She goes above and beyond for her puppies to ensure every puppy from the litter goes to a good home. Every time my Irishdoodle, Lemon, had any crate training problems, potty training problems, even stomach problems, I was given amazing advice from the breeder. I am usually a skeptic about other breeders, but this breeder is incredible and goes above and beyond for literally everyone. I waited two years to get a dog, saving money and researching dog breeds and breeders. Jen is the best of the best when it comes to caring for her puppies and helping out new dog parents! I brought Winston home early and, as a new dog mom, flooded Jen with questions. She would always answer within an hour, and most of the time she would pick up the phone to call me after I texted so she could explain fully!! I still keep in contact with her, sending her updated pictures of Winston. I am so thankful to have found her through a friend, and I truly believe I would not have had the same incredible experience with a different breeder! Thank you Jen! I was skeptical because I had never purchased from a breeder before. I spent about a year going through different breeders and doing my research. She asked me questions about what I wanted in a dog, myself and my lifestyle to match me with the perfect puppy. I must say she got the match exactly perfect. Healthy, happy and exact personality I wanted in a dog. Our next puppy is most definitely coming from Jen. While my puppy was still in her care, she would update me with pictures and inform me how the puppy was doing without having to ask. When I picked up my pup, he was already in a routine so it was really easy to care for him. It was as if he was already potty and kennel trained, I had no problem whatsoever ever!! She is seriously the best. I can call her anytime with issues. She's like a second mother to my pup! I'm glad I found her. Jen was incredible to work with! She was patient, answered all of my questions promptly and kept me updated with pictures up until the day I picked up my baby from her! I had a very specific list of qualities I wanted in my puppies temperament, and she met them to the "T" from the time he was about a week old! He has fulfilled all those qualities and more as he has grown up! Not only was Jen incredible in matching me with my best friend, but she has also been incredible since picking up my baby! I have called on her numerous times for various reasons! She has been so helpful with everything from puppy biting to eating a dead squirrel! Jen went from being a breeder to a friend! I am so thankful for all the many ways Jen matched me with my best friend and has helped along the way! Thanks, Jen!! To our surprise Poppy became sick a little over 2 weeks after we got her. We were instructed to, "rush her to the animal ER! She will not survive without a transfusion! Jen met my hubby half way. After 24 hours on antibiotics Poppy was back to an active puppy. Our guess is that she had pneumonia. Jen is proof that good humans still exist on Earth. After two weeks with Jen our Poppy was miraculously healed. Jen is a gift to the animals that she is raising. Reviewer: Angie, September 26, .We could not have asked for a better experience! This is our first puppy and Jen continues to reach out to us and could not be more sincere about wanting to make sure that Baxter's transition is a success! It was so nice to finally meet her in person and so reassuring to know that we can always reach out to her for advice. Baxter has found his forever home and we could not be happier with our decision! Sent her an e-mail through PuppyFind. Put her in touch with my wife and the rest is history. We love our standard poodle. Jen made pick-up super convenient. She, her husband, and her two boys met us -- had paperwork all organized, food to take home. She's stayed in touch since we've been home. We would definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone. We looked everywhere for a beautiful male golden retriever, and we came across Jen. Jen has been the perfect breeder and friend. She always communicated so well with us prior to getting our golden retriever. She sent photos daily as well as videos for us to see and make sure we had the perfect match. After three weeks of having this puppy, Jen still communicates to us regularly about any questions we may have or concerns. We had such an excellent experience and would recommend this breeder to anyone and everyone. She kept sending me pictures and updates of my goldendoodle, Lucy, until it was time to pick her up. After I picked her up, I had a couple questions and she was more than happy to help. It's been a week and we still text regularly! Our Goldendoodle came practically potty trained and is perfect, healthy, and the cutest puppy ever. All the reviews you read are true and I couldn't say enough for Jen and how happy we were with her. Highly recommended!!!! We just picked up our sweet little goldendoodle, and Jen made the experience so wonderful! She is so knowledgeable and easy to work with. She sent plenty of prep tips and guided us through picking our sweet little girl. Our goldendoodle is beautiful, healthy and had already started to ask to go potty outside day 2 at home. She really cares about these puppies and made the whole experience super personal and comfortable. Chloe is such a well-tempered little angel, and my friends have already been asking if Jen still has pups available! She had all of the paperwork ready to go, helped us understand the best healthcare and made transactions super easy. Thank you, we are so happy! What a knack Jen has with puppies. Jen goes beyond expectations. Her earnest compassion and ability to observe pups and predict their size and personality is uncanny. I highly recommend letting her know the precise temperament and size you are looking for. Jen is very good at matching people with pups. She goes out of her way to accommodate too. .Surprising people are found in some of the oddest places. Who would've thought to find such a sincere individual in such a niche business. Thank goodness too; she has been so helpful. Her pups have obviously received attention, guidance, and socialization in all the right ways. They come almost house trained, and already understand crucial terms like no, good, bad, come, and others, which proves she spends a good deal of quality time preparing her pups for their future. Jen is happy to spend time, both before and after the sell, helping her customers with whatever she can to ensure both human and pup do well. Reviewer: Dal, September 13, Jen, you are wonderful!! I brought home my beautiful and incredibly sweet golden just over two weeks ago, and it is one of the best decisions I've made. Jen was so helpful in answering any and all questions I had and made the process of getting my puppy home writhin a couple days. She also really helped me make sure I was selecting the puppy who's temperament and personality matched mine and my lifestyle. I am beyond happy with the whole process. On top of the helpfulness I received, was also able to see how kind Jen is and made me feel safe in my decision to purchase from online. My golden is stunning and the sweetest thing. I would highly recommend purchasing from Jen. It was my first time buying a dog and I had so many questions. I fell in love with Henrik's pictures our puppy and bombarded Jen with questions, all of which she answered respectfully and promptly. When we felt comfortable with everything, she was kind enough to meet us half way to pick him up! He was everything and more we wanted and is the best dog we could have asked for. He was happy and healthy and still is today. We are so thankful for the treatment Jen gave us and for our little boy! I would definitely recommend Jen to anyone looking for a happy, healthy, and beautiful puppy! She has provided so much support and has been readily available for any questions I had and has been wonderful at sending me photo updates. She has been a joy to work with. Both my sister and I have gotten Cavalier puppies from her, and we couldn't be happier! Such beautiful and sweet creatures. Thank you so much for everything, Jen! Thank you!! Jen is incredibly helpful, friendly and truly committed to making sure pups find the right home. She went with us to the vet and ensured we had certificate in hand before handing over Brody. Thank you, Jen!!! Our puppies receive a Veterinarian Certificate of Health confirming each puppy is healthy, their 1st puppy shots, multiple dewormings, and will be ready to go to their new home at 8 weeks of age. We give our neonates boiled organ broth, usually from a cow's liver, with an eye dropped at 24 hours of age to spur their immune systems. We make our own puppy mash with high quality dog food, probiotics, high fat Greek yogourt, and as they age we add pureed cranberries, carrots, and human grade boiled chicken along with the broth. We never leave our puppies alone, and we use professional puppysitters if we have to leave, although we are almost always home with the puppies during the 8 weeks we have with each sweet soul. Every puppy has multiple physical human contacts daily. We strongly believe the first 8 weeks are the foundation of the puppies life, and every aspect matters. Music, talking, and human sound is on for the puppies 24 x 7 whether they are in the puppy room or the puppy gym. We usually play happy musical soundtracks, never anything loud or scary. We do have an application process, we don't sell our puppies to just anyone who wants one. We don't accept deposits or etransfers until after a family is approved for adoption. It was absolutely worth flying across the country to bring my Golden Angel Puppy home to British Columbia. Thank you Anna!
She is fully vetted and ready for her new home. Roxy has done well with her dog foster siblings that are smaller and larger than her. She is a quiet and reserved lady. She has shown excellent house manners as well. She did meet her fosters cats and Roxy was very tense so we recommend no cat siblings. Sudden movements and loud noises cause Roxy to flinch and cower to the floor. We believe this is due to being shot. This has gotten some what less frequent, but still occurs. We are hopeful that in the right home Roxy will continue to heal mentally and emotionally to become a confident girl again. We have been told that Roxy is good with children but due to the fact that loud noises and sudden movements cause Roxy distress we are looking for a home without young children. Ultimately, Roxy needs a calmer home with loving and patient parents that can help her feel safe and gain confidence. Below are our newest added Boxers available for adoption in Glasgow, Kentucky. Lifespan Sociability The English Bullweiler is a rarer hybrid breed, and his size means that he is not one of the most popular breeds. This means that it can be difficult to find reputable breeders, but it also means that examples of this breed do not cost as much as a lot of other breeds. Bad breeders gave Rottweilers a bad reputation. They bred the dog for his aggressive looks and his ability to fight, and this resulted in a lot of bad press for the breed. Much work has been undertaken to undo this bad reputation, but some people are still wary of owning this type of dog. Unfortunately, bad breeders do still exist, so you need to be careful that you get your Bullweiler from a reputable source. Conduct research on any breeder that you are considering. While it is true that a puppy will not necessarily display the same characteristics of his parents, it is also true that bad breeders tend to keep dogs in poor condition, and this will have an effect on the dog later in life. English Bullweilers can be tricky to train, and they grow up to be large dogs, larger than the Bulldog. As such, some examples of this breed do end up being abandoned, which means that they can be found in shelters. Adopting a rescue dog means that you should meet the dog as often as possible before taking him home. This will allow you to determine his character and temperament and should ensure you get a good dog. The English Bullweiler is not a vocal dog. Some breeds are known for being vocal dogs, barking and whining at any noise or movement. The English Bullweiler is not such a breed. He is a quiet dog that will only really make a noise when playing or when he senses a threat to him or his family. This breed also tends to make a bit of noise when sleeping but, if your Bullweiler does bark, it tends to mean that something really is up, and it is worth investigating. This quiet nature means that some owners mistakenly believe that he is a good fit for apartment living. However, his size and his high energy requirements mean that he is only really suited to living in a house with plenty of room, and ideally with an outdoor yard where he can run around and burn off energy. The bulldog has a very distinctive look and there are few breeds that look similar. They were bred to be short and stocky so that they were difficult for bulls to launch into the air. Being launched led to injuries and usually meant that the dog was unable to continue the fight. They have loose skin because this prevented the bull from being able to latch on and allowed the dog to get away from their horns and teeth. Even the wrinkles on their face served a purpose, channeling blood away from their eyes so that they were not blinded during a fight. While this almost led to the extinction of the bull-baiting bulldog , the breed was eventually saved because it displayed sought after characteristics that made it a highly sought-after family pet. Rottweilers are exceptional rescue dogs. However, they nearly became extinct after their jobs were naturally taken by trains and the introduction of the railroad. Today, they have been rebranded. They are considered friendly, playful, and loving family dogs, and their qualities make them an exceptional breed for rescue operations. They were used in New York to the Twin Towers site where their tenacity, agility, and strength meant that they were highly effective at finding survivors, moving rubble, and saving people. They are also used as police dogs, service dogs, and armed forces dogs around the world because of these same qualities. Today, they are considered friendly and lovable dogs that are great for families and make loving companions. Known for being fun, the Bullweiler can be a bit goofy and is described as having a good sense of humor. He is always ready to play and can brighten up your day in an instant. He is eager to protect his family and is always alert. He will let you know of any intruders, although this does make early socialization an important facet of ownership. This will help teach him the difference between friendly and unwanted strangers, and it will ensure that he welcomes visitors. Are These Dogs Good for Families? He is patient with children, although his size means that he will need training to ensure that he is respectful of the distance that very small children require. This is especially important because his Rottweiler parent is known as a leaner. He leans against his human companions as a sign of his love and devotion. If he were to lean against a small child, he would knock them over and squash them. He is inquisitive, so he will want to meet and regularly greet all of his family members, but he is incredibly respectful of smaller animals. He is energetic and bright, although he can be a challenge to train, requiring a lot of patience. He also has a distinctive look and plenty of character. Before taking one of this breed, there are several factors that you should be aware of. This should be fed in two or three sittings, and you should pick up any food that is left after each meal. This breed can put on a lot of extra weight, so you do need to take care that you only feed the desired amount and avoid leaving food down all day. As your dog ages, he is likely to lose some of his bounding energy. At this point, his dietary requirements will also drop, and you should either move to a lower calorie food or feed less to stop him getting overweight or obese. You should expect to have to provide a lot of exercise on a regular basis. He will benefit from two long walks a day, and he will appreciate time outdoors. As well as being energetic, this hybrid breed can be very bouncy and athletic. You should try and prevent him from jumping too high when he is young because this can cause developmental, joint, and bone problems. When he is older, however, he will enjoy agility type classes and exercise, if you can convince him to follow the right path around the course. If you enjoy walking, hiking, or running, the Bullweiler is the perfect companion. The Bullweiler is one breed that definitely benefits from having his own outdoor space. Let him run around the yard, chase a ball, and generally enjoy the outdoors. He is very intelligent, though, so if your dog is eager to please, he will train easily. If he is headstrong, you will still be able to train him, but it will take patience and may take longer to teach new commands and habits. Early socialization should be considered an important aspect of owning this breed. Although he will naturally bond with all members of the family, he can be wary and distrustful of strangers. Although he does shed, he is not a heavy shedder and his short hair is easy to sweep up when it does happen. Weekly brushing will help remove dead and shed hair, which prevents matting and keeps him looking his best. His size does mean that brushing can take some time, but he will appreciate the bonding experience. You should only bathe your Bullweiler when absolutely necessary. Too frequent bathing can strip his fur of the natural protective oils that it possesses. And it will probably be challenging anyhow, due to his size and potentially stubborn nature. If you can hear them click on hard floors, it is time to get the clippers out. If you start clipping nails from a young age, your dog will respond better to the procedure when he is older. If you struggle, consult a local groomer or ask your local vet to do it for you. With that said, you will need to keep an eye out for the conditions that both parent breeds are prone to. With the English Bullweiler, you will need to look for symptoms and signs of the following conditions: Minor Conditions. It was initially bred to drive cattle and even to pull carts of meat. This dog is strong, packed with energy and stamina, and very protective. Today, these dogs are rebranded and considered friendlier, loving, and playful. They are now used as police dogs, service dogs, and armed forces dogs worldwide because of these same qualities. The Rottweiler, due to its intelligence, was used in New York to the Twin Towers site to find survivors, move rubble, and save people. These dogs make excellent pets and good furry friends. Bulldog The Bulldog is a Mastiff-type dog initially bred in England. They were produced to fight bulls in competitions until when bull baiting became illegal. Since then, the bulldog was turned into a companion dog. They also grew smaller than their bull-fighting ancestors and lost most of their aggressiveness. The bulldog has a very distinctive look, and only a few breeds look alike. You can see the different characteristics they each have once they are born. The fun thing is to look at two English Bullweiler and see the differences, yet they are from the same mother. They each acquire different traits from their parents. One pup could look very similar to Rottweiler, while the other the bulldog or a mashup of both. They could inherit certain appearance traits from different parents. Most of these hybrid dogs range between 40 and pounds. They are strong with sturdy bodies like their parents. Their ears most likely flop over, and their muzzle remains short. Their height can be between 12 and 27 inches tall. It is hard to predict what traits the puppies will have until they are grown because it depends on their inherited characteristics. Their Coat Their hair is mostly short, and it could be either smooth or rough. The coat color can be brown to black, mostly solid, speckled, bridled, or spotted. They did all manner of tasks that fueled their aggression even more. However, that does is not the case today. With all of them now raised with more love and affection, they have no reason to be aggressive. The temperament of the Rottie American Bulldog is exceptionally loyal, family-loving, aloof, very protective, aggressive, territorial, eager to please, eager for the outdoors. Proper training with lots of socialization with humans and other animals is essential during the younger years. You have to show your dog that you are the Alpha, so it follows you. If you do not show that you are the Alpha and provide athletic training, you will find your dog rebelling. This dog will test your limits each day; if you fail to correct them, you will be capitalizing on an opportunity for disobedience. The Rottweiler mixed with a bulldog is not very friendly to strangers if not trained right. To ensure this hybrid dog does not get aggressive and misbehave, you must train it early and socialize it with other pets from attender age. Training your dog early teaches it you are the leader, and you require obedience and respect. Also, taking them out to the yard for some fun and exercise eliminates aggression. American Bulldog Rottie Mix — Socialization and Exercise Socialization for dogs is critical in raising an obedient dog to humans and animals. The more they meet strange-looking animals and humans, the better they become. They will get even better behaved, greeting new people and animals. This does not fool them when a stranger with bad intentions appears. They have high intelligence to tell when there is danger and will protect their owners at all costs. As a puppy, take it out to different environments, say the park, coffee shop, or walk across the streets to get it more socialized. One of the areas to keep your puppy from is the dog park. Dogs can be very mean and unwelcoming to a tiny puppy and could injure them. Wait until they are old enough to be able to handle the other dogs. Exercise this hybrid dog by running, walking, hiking, or playing fetch. This keeps its body and mind occupied, leaving no time for bad behavior. Give it plenty of exercise, and remember to stay consistent to help it maintain a schedule. When raised well and socialized as a puppy, this hybrid dog turns out very friendly and loving. Training Both the parents are decently intelligent and thus very trainable. This includes their mixed breed. It is very trainable, starting with potty and crate training that is important, to begin with. It is usually easy for almost all dogs to excel on these first potty and crate training. Because of its aggression, it is essential to socialize it and start training early on. Conclusion Overall, the English Bullweiler is an alpha dog and needs a firm yet loving owner. If they find you inconsistent or lacking leadership skills, they will not follow your commands or obey you. So make sure you become a gentle but firm trainer. Give it many exercises, socialization, and, more significantly, training all through its lifespan! Rottbull Description The English Bullweiler is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the English Bulldog and the Rottweiler. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in any of the breeds in the hybrid. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses. He has tremendous personality and is a handsome boy. Very intelligent, a derivative of his Rottweiler breed and also very ornery like most Bulldogs. He is very active, but also loves to snuggle up with mom and dad. She now weighs 25 pounds and goes to get spayed next week. She is a bundle of energy and is the typical bull in a china shop. She is a real sweetie pie and is a real people dog. Wherever I go she has to be there. He is the brother of Candie. His name is Sampson and he is a very dominant dog. He tries to hold other dogs down on the ground and not let them up. He sleeps with my sister. He is kept outdoors during the day and in at night. These dogs have a full-blooded white female bulldog as their mom and a full-blooded Rottie for a dad. He looks more like a Rott. Sampson the English Bullweiler as a newborn puppy. Eager to please Playful The Rottweiler is the most infamous guard dog in the world! But did you know that they are also one of the oldest herding dog breeds in the world as well? The Rottweiler dates back to Roman times. Back in 70 A. The Romans used the Rottweiler for herding cattle and protecting the cattle and other herd animals from wolves and other predators. Rottweilers were also used as meat cart pullers as well as personal protection detail. Did you know that in the mids, the Rottweiler nearly went extinct? Yes, the Rottie almost went extinct because trains were now a much cheaper way of transporting meat. Grooming — Brush four to five times a day throughout the spring and fall. Colors — Black, golden, brown, merle, brindle, speckled and spotted Eye Color — brown Exercise — Tons of exercises, consider getting them a job at a farm herding or protecting. Training — The Rottweiler American Bulldog mix is notoriously stubborn, a trait inherited from both parents. Socialization — Positive exposure to other people and dogs daily for best socialization. Temperament — Loving, caring, watchful, loves to hunt small game, eager to play, very protective Good in an apartment? The American Bulldog Rottweiler mixed breed is a powerful yet elegant and loyal nature dog. The mark of a great pack leader for these guys is to have them listen to your commands. Training of This Beautiful Breed! I often say that training, socialization, and, finally, exercise are the key foundation for making and keeping a stable and happy relationship with your dog. If you only do two or just one of these, then you are creating a situation in which it will bite you in the end. As a baby, work these commands over with, of course, frequent breaks in-between the training sessions. Make the training longer than the playing by as much as half or even more, and make the training fun with lots of praises and a little treat here and there. When training, it is imperative that you do not give up on your commands while also using positive reinforcement training. This breed is stubborn, so you will need to repeat yourself constantly. Socialization for the American Bulldog Rottweiler Mix Socialization for dogs is key to having a very polite dog to humans and animals; the more they meet strange looking people and animals. The more they will be well behaved, greeting new people and animals. As a puppy, if you can take them out into different environments, say the park, coffee shop, or just walking the streets would be super beneficial to getting your pup socialized. One of the most important things not to do is take your puppy to the dog park. Dogs can be very mean and can scar such a small puppy; secondly, the puppy has not had its shots, so they can transmit and or get a disease. So never take your puppy to the dog park until they are old enough to be able to hold their own and be able to defend against any diseases. Rottweiler American Bulldog Exercise Requirements Exercise for this breed means running about a giant property or being put to use on a farm. May it be herding or protecting against coyotes or humans. As strange as it may seem to read, some people still steal cattle, ducks, or sheep. Black, brown, tan, red, white Suitable for: Watchdog duties, families with kids Temperament: Goofy, protective, amiable, watchful Large and affectionate, the Bullweiler will brighten your life and give you the best snuggles. These goofy pups are super fun playmates, too. So, if you have children to consider, you might want to read more. Dogs that are harder to train will require a bit more patience and practice. Proper exercise, nutrition, and hygiene also play an important role in the lifespan of your pet. More social dogs have a tendency to run up to strangers for pets and scratches, while less social dogs shy away and are more cautious, even potentially aggressive. Even if neither parent is registered or guaranteed to be purebred, many try to breed and sell pups for profit. If the breeder seems suspicious, the puppies have a poor living condition, or the parents seem aggressive—steer clear. These are signals of backyard breeding, which no one should contribute to—even if you feel sorry for the poor, defenseless puppies. You might get lucky and find an awesome Bullweiler at a local shelter or rescue awaiting their forever home. This combination makes them perfect for couch cuddles and protection all in one. Bullweilers will drown you with affection. They simply love their humans and show their loyalty and devotion at every turn. Bullweilers are moderately intelligent and very receptive to emotions. Their constant need for acceptance makes them attentive in training, so basic commands should transfer without much headache. Bullweilers might exhibit some territorial tendencies, as both parent breeds might be sensitive to intruders—both human and critter. These traits make for excellent watchdogs, but you might need to exercise caution in certain circumstances. Are These Dogs Good for Families? These dogs have moderate activity levels, making them average maintenance. A few interactive games and a quick walk will suffice. This makes the breed ideal for people who want a rather low maintenance do g. They tend to be very amicable and friendly but might be initially suspicious of newcomers. They will assess them first before warming up. Early socialization is a handy tactic to get your pup used to new faces. These dogs also bond very well with children, being doting and gentle. Since they are so large, they might knock down small kids. These dogs do best with children roughly 6 years of age and older. Due to their muscular, large physiques, they might not work well for seniors. Other pets can be a hit and miss when it comes to the Bullweiler. Some might snooze with the family cat or make best friends with the senior dog. Others might be aloof, territorial, or aggressive with other dogs—especially of the same gender. So, early socialization is necessary. Cats and smaller pets can also be a toss-up. Tiny critters like hamsters and parakeets should stay out of reach at all times. Your dog might mistake the cute fluffy pets for squeaker toys. You can offer dry kibble, wet food, or a combination but be mindful of portions. These dogs are known to have hefty appetites and have a tendency to gain weight. Because of their skin folds and poor breeding over the decades, English Bulldogs are prone to skin allergies. If your pooch shows signs of irritation, you might see your veterinarian for guidance. They will likely try food trials for your dog to narrow the triggering ingredient. Once you have pinpointed the issue, you can eliminate it for good. Allergies or no allergies, try to steer clear of any food containing corn, wheat, or soy fillers—also, no harmful dyes, chemicals, or preservatives. Whole proteins are always best and should ideally be the first ingredient. Since the Bullweiler is brachycephalic, you might try tilted or shallow bowls to standard ones for easy eating. Both parents approach exercise differently. The Rottie enjoys strenuous exercise and tends to be more active than the Bulldog parent. Bulldogs are a bit lazier and tucker out quicker—mainly because of breathing troubles. Since your pup might be a little sensitive to prolonged intervals of exercise, try morning and evening walks with light interactive games. Be mindful of extremely hot temperatures. Both dogs are very sensitive to heat and might have adverse health problems because of it. In total, your Bullweiler should have at least 30 minutes of exercise per day. This breed is not an agility dog that can navigate obstacle courses and climb trees. This dog prefers a much more relaxed approach to training. This breed is incredibly food motivated, so let that work in your favor. However, boys especially can be stubborn. So, you might have to learn bribery to get them to behave. Because they develop deep wrinkles, the bacterial buildup can collect in their folds, causing irritation or infection. In addition to skin fold cleaning, your dog will need a bath roughly every 6 weeks. You can follow up bath time with nail clipping, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. Coat length and texture might differ a bit, depending on the stronger parent. But a daily brushing should help to keep their fur debris-free and lustrous. Rottweilers have their share of problems, too—like a strong inclination to various cancers. Because of the likelihood of health issues, annual vet visits are paramount in their entire adult lives. Early detection or prevention can be lifesavers in certain circumstances. Minor Conditions Allergies —these dogs can suffer from dietary and environmental allergies. Reverse Sneezing —this condition causes dogs to have fits where they suck air inward rather than sneezing outward. Cherry Eye —this condition is a prolapse of eyelid glands. Serious Conditions Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome —this condition causes airway abnormalities that make breathing difficult and can be life-threatening in certain circumstances. Cancer —both parent breeds are prone to various canine cancers. Hip and Elbow Dysplasia —these conditions cause deterioration of the joints, leading to bone rubbing. To combat any issues, make sure you take your dog to the vet for annual checkups to get ahead of problems. Male vs Female Every single dog, regardless of gender, is lovely and unique. But certain traits lean toward one or the other. Physically speaking, males are generally larger and broader than females. However, because this hybrid breed has a varying size proportion between parents, this might not always be the case. Boys tend to be more goofy, lovable, and slower to mature. They might also be likelier to exhibit dog aggression, especially in same-sex pairs. Dominance is a huge issue with most males, and you will have to proceed with caution. Females tend to be gentle protectors with a more subtle approach. They might also be likelier to bond intensely to one person over all others. The ladies might be a little more reserved around strangers than their male counterparts. They, too, might exhibit same-sex dog aggression. Both Parents of the Bullweiler Are Brachycephalic Breeds Brachycephalic dogs are all too familiar—short shouted pooches with adorable wrinkles. But with their special skull shape comes unique problems. Since both parent breeds carry this trait, your pooch might encounter breathing problems like brachycephalic airway syndrome. No One Knows the Exact Origin of the Bullweiler No one knows just when this breed surfaced, but speculators think it might have been in the s. During this period, many breed cross experimentation started, giving us many designer dogs we know and love today. This is such an exciting time for you and your family, bringing home a brand new addition. Just make sure that your puppy is healthy, and the breeder you select has a long history of successful litters. Because this is technically a mixed breed, you may very well find this combination in a shelter or rescue. Rottweiler English Bulldog mixes can be prone to skin allergies, which can cause itching, redness, and hair loss. Breathing Problems Rottweiler English Bulldog mixes can also be prone to breathing problems due to their short snouts, which can make breathing difficult. This condition is known as brachycephalic syndrome and can cause coughing, gagging, and difficulty breathing. Avoiding exercise in hot or humid weather and keeping your dog at a healthy weight can help prevent breathing problems. Eye Problems Finally, this mixed breed is also prone to eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. These mixed-breed dogs have become popular family pets due to being incredibly loyal and loving companions. The average life expectancy for these mixes is years, but this varies depending on lifestyle choices such as diet and exercise. With good nutrition and regular exercise, your pup should easily live up to 12 or even 13 years of age. The best way to ensure longevity for your four-legged friend is by providing plenty of love, attention, exercise, and a healthy diet — just like any other canine companion! It also helps to find an approach to training that fits both your needs and those of your pup; after all, happy dogs tend to live longer lives! But no! This is especially true when it comes to finding a pet for families; so many people want to give their kids one as a companion without breaking the bank in the process. The key takeaway from this section? Researching your pup before buying will go a long way in saving time and money down the line. So, choose wisely and have fun doing it — after all, owning such a majestic creature is worth every penny! This will help guarantee the health and welfare of your future furry friend. When looking for a puppy, be sure to ask the seller questions about their breeding practices, socialization methods, and general care. Additionally, make sure that you can visit the premises before buying a puppy so you can check out how the puppies are raised in person. Look for breeders or owners who have experience with raising dogs since this will give you peace of mind knowing that they understand what needs to go into taking care of them properly. Finally, do some research on different breeders online before making any decisions—look at reviews and take time to compare prices in order to find the best fit for both yourself and your pup! I teach my clients that consistency is key when training any dog, especially this breed. You might also experience some separation anxiety from time to time. If you put in the work now, then soon enough, you will reap the rewards of having such an amazing pet! Life Span Did You Know? They are sometimes also called an English Rottbull. Although a mixed-breed dog can take on any combination of characteristics from their parents, an English Bullweiler tends to be a large, loyal, and playful sweetheart that loves their families. The American Kennel Club may not recognize the English Bullweiler, but other notable dog organizations do. Although this puppy grows into a large, strong, and muscular dog, they are an affectionate sweetheart that is devoted to their families. They tend to be loving and sweet with a playful personality. English Bullweilers tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. Because they grow to be large dogs, they can easily knock over young children in their excitement. So, you will want to teach your dog and your children how to interact appropriately and also supervise any playtime. They are naturally wary and initially suspicious of strangers because of their guardian instincts, but they tend to warm up once they have been introduced. They can be prone to barking, especially if they are bored. But, if you do some work early on to train your dog to stop barking , you can keep it from becoming a nuisance behavior. The English Bullweiler is a highly adaptable dog breed. They tend to thrive in larger homes with room for them to run. But, they can adapt well to apartments too as long as they get enough attention, exercise, and mental stimulation. They will grow into a large dog, so you do want to keep that in mind if you live in a smaller apartment. Although having a Rottweiler in the cross may help, an English Bullweiler is still likely to be considered a brachycephalic dog. This means they are particularly sensitive to heat and can overheat more easily than non-brachycephalic dogs. They do relatively well in cooler climates. Although they can handle some alone time, they love being around you and thrive on attention. So, they should not be left alone for long periods of time. A mixed-breed dog can inherit none of the conditions common to their parent breeds, but they could also inherit any combination of them or even all of them from one or both of the parents. For an English Bullweiler, potential health conditions to be aware of include elbow dysplasia, hip dysplasia, osteosarcoma, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, and entropion. They can also be prone to developing allergies. Reputable breeders will be screening their dogs to make sure they are not passing preventable issues on to puppies. You can also ask to see any health clearances or results from tests that have been done. An English Bullweiler is intelligent and eager to please. They can pick up on things quickly, but they can also be bull-headed and stubborn. This stubborn streak can be difficult for first-time dog owners to navigate alone, so puppy training classes are recommended. Puppy training classes tend to be a good idea regardless of owner experience. Not only do they help keep training consistent and strengthen the bond you have with a puppy, but they also often offer opportunities to socialize a puppy. English Bullweilers have a short coat that sheds moderately year-round. Brushing them a few times a week with a comb and a rubber curry brush is the minimum. Daily brushing is even better and can help contain the shedding. Bathing is on an occasional as-needed basis, but is recommended every 6 to 8 weeks. These dogs will also tend to drool. So, you may want to have a cloth on-hand to help wipe up occasionally. You will also need to check and wipe their face wrinkles with a damp cloth to help prevent their skin from getting irritated. Although an English Bullweiler is an energetic, athletic, and playful dog, they are not a high-energy dog breed. They tend to sit in a more moderate range. Daily walks plus playtime and some time to run are usually enough for this dog. But, they love to be with you and enjoy being active, so they will likely be up for more activity if you are. Just make sure English Bullweiler puppies finish growing and developing before you take on more intense or high-impact activities. For large dog breeds, this tends to be around 2 years old. Your vet can help you determine when your individual dog has finished growing and their bones and joints have finished developing. A fully-grown English Bullweiler usually stands inches tall and weighs pounds. An English Bullweiler generally lives for years. Sometimes, they can develop issues with their tails, either from genetically predisposed issues or from injury. Unfortunately, when it comes to purebred dogs like German Shepherds, there are genetically predisposed illnesses that you may have to deal with as their owner. Getting your German Shepherd from a reputable breeder is the best course of action, but even then, your GSD will still not be entirely immune from genetic issues or injuries. Tail problems are common issues in large dogs like German Shepherds. In this article, we look at three that you should know about. Anal Furunculosis Anal furunculosis is a hereditary condition in German Shepherds. The condition can be painful and uncomfortable for your pooch and is difficult to treat. It can become fairly severe if infection takes hold. The condition can be brought on by several different causes but has mostly been observed after immersion in cold water. The condition is not usually serious and can be treated at home with anti-inflammatories and rest, and your dog should fully recover after a few da Image Credit: cvop, Pixabay 3. Skin infections are easily spotted because there will typically be hair loss, redness, and itching. Topical or internal antibiotics prescribed by a vet are usually the best course of action. But the habit can become obsessive, at which point, you may have a problem. There are many causes for this habit, most of which are behavioral and thus can be stopped with proper training. Lack of exercise, insufficient space, stress, and anxiety may all be possible causes. Unfortunately, there are a few GSD owners who want their dogs to have the straight, powerful-looking tail of the GSD breed standard and opt for surgery, but this will not fix the issue and will cost a great deal of money in the process. Excessive Tail Wagging German Shepherds are known for wagging their tails all the time, and as such, they are fairly prone to tail-wagging-related injuries. This enthusiasm can cause them to knock their tails into things and cause bruises, cuts, or pulled muscles. Excessive tail wagging can be a symptom of stress or anxiety, but it is usually just due to a happy, excited pooch! See also:. Unlike some breeds, they carry it low naturally, and an agitated, swishing tail is not ideal. If it curls under the dog, instead of being held out naturally straight from the body, the dog may be anxious and nervous. Long-coated Shepherds will have a fluffy plume, whereas short-coated dogs will have a sleeker tail. They will be between 18 and 36 months old before you can truly judge their tail type. While the dog is still developing, it can have a longer or shorter tail. Here are some common ones to look out for. High tails: usually a sign of alertness and excitement Hanging tails: troubled or submissive feelings Straighter than normal: exploring, but a little cautious Semi-raised and slowly wagging: usually happy Low and slow wagging: usually means unhappiness or concern Raised and fast wagging: Excitement Low and slow wagging: lack of enthusiasm, but responsive Very broad wagging: enthusiastic Short, curtailed wagging: can be a sign of anxiety Neutral: the dog is simply relaxed, alert, and happy Wiggly and loose: a happy puppy! It can be a sign of a mixed breed dog or a dog with a gene fault at the tail. Can Tails Get Sore? As an expressive part of the dog, tails can get sore or injured. However, these are some more severe problems to watch out for: Anal Furunculosis: This is a fancy term for an inflammatory skin disease around the tail and bum. Skin Infections: Like the rest of the body, the skin here can get infected. Because the skin is tight over the tailbone, it can be tough to treat too. Noted issues include chewing, allergy scratching, and itching. Dog bites can get infected too. Always treat skin issues at the tail seriously. The tail swells and is painful, it comes on about a day after exposure to freezing surfaces. Why do Dogs Chase Their Tails? Is It Bad? Pups and adult dogs alike may chase their tails simply for fun. But sometimes, it can turn into obsessive behavior. Luckily, training can help, especially with distraction and refocusing on toys or activities. What are the bad reasons for tail chasing? Small Spaces: The German Shepherd is a big dog, so narrow spaces can upset them. Stimulation: If your dog is under-exercised and stimulated, they can obsessively tail chase from boredom. Genetics: They may have the habit in their blood, or have learned it from parents. Stress: Anxiety can cause very dangerous tail chasing that often ends in injury, and you need to get to the root cause of the issue. It can cue you into their moods, and help you to avoid issues before they start. Likewise, knowing more about the breed standard for their expressive tail can help you identify potential issues with your dog and understand more about what makes them tick—or should we say, wag! As such, they have to tell you what they feel and experience through body language, including positioning and wagging their tail. Here are 13 German Shepherd tail positions and what they mean: Tail raised high — alert and excited. Tail hanging down — troubled and submissive. Tail straight out — exploring and undecided. Tail low and wagging left — concerned or unhappy. Tail semi-raised and wagging right — happy. Tail raised and wagging fast — excited. Tail low and wagging slowly — lack of enthusiasm. Tail wagging with up and down broad strokes — very happy. Tail wagging in half-mast short strokes — anxious. Tail carried in a neutral position — relaxed. Tail loose and wiggly — happy. Tail held high and stiff — aroused and confident. Tail tucked between the legs — afraid. This article will explore these different tail positions in more detail so you can get to know your dog a little better. Hey there! As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. It may be in a neutral, straight out, high, or half-mast position to convey arousal, relaxation, or anxiousness and can vary in meaning when accompanied by a fast or slow wag. A raised tail often comes with erect ears , which could be a sign that: The dog is ready to run and attack. The dog may make a move to face whatever is calling their attention. The dog may make a display of dominance. This is especially true if the raised tail is accompanied by very fast tail wagging, which appears to be vibrating. Stay alert when your German Shepherd has its tail raised high and vibrating as you may need to leash or crate them. If a slight wiggle or wag is added, your dog communicates appeasement. The dog could be meeting someone new — a person or dog — and is unsure what action to take. Your GSD could also be hearing noises whose meaning and origin they have yet to figure out. So when you see your German Shepherd with its tail straight out, just give it time to figure things out. I wanna chase the deer! She has seen some deer in the field, and her prey drive has kicked in! Research has shown that dogs tend to wag their tails to the right when happy, and the left side of the brain directs this tail movement. In fact, the mentioned research found that dogs wagged their tails to the right at the sight of their owner. It could be the joy of seeing you home again after work or of seeing you present his favorite food or toy, or when you arrive at a new place, and the excitement just takes over. However, your German Shepherd can show a fast wagging tail when anxious and ready for action in tense situations. The German Shepherd is meeting a strange dog and is unsure what role to take with the new conspecific. In either case, you should remove your German Shepherd from the uncomfortable situation. In this case, your German Shepherd will also accompany the tail wagging with other body signs of happiness like: A relaxed shaking of the entire body. A grin on its face. A soft open mouth. Your dog could also be showing a lack of enthusiasm and insecurity. If the half-mast short strokes are swift, your dog could simply be greeting and feeling tentative or hesitant about a move. Check out Willow in the above photo. Her tail is relaxed in its neutral position as she is undoubtedly chilled as she loves being in the woods. If the dog is relaxed and feeling extra happy, they may add a little wag to their loose tail. They may accentuate that with a side-to-side wag or in circular motion wags. Your German Shepherd will also have a loose and wiggly tail when the environment is relaxed, and if a gaze towards you accompanies that, they most likely want to play. Pay particular attention to your German Shepherd if it has a high and stiff tail combined with raised hackles , a wrinkled nose, and an open mouth with visible teeth. Together, these signs could be a warning to other dogs or strangers to back off. Your German Shepherd may be about to get aggressive. For example, your dog could be in pain or encountering someone or something that instills fear. The tail should be set smoothly into the croup or the rear end where the pelvis bone is and where the tail attaches to the rump. The tail is raised when in motion, and the saber-curve is emphasized, but not beyond a vertical line. That makes it easy for you to see the tail when you want to decipher the message that your German Shepherd is communicating with its tail position. Are you looking to buy something for your dog? Make sure to check out my favorite dog gear below. Just look at their tails! So, keep an eye out for tails that are just right! The natural tail is well-muscled and has a thick base croup. It typically hangs down when the dog is relaxed. This type of GSD tail is set high and carried in a slight curve that is pointed upward, but does not go over the back like in Huskies. You see, a natural tail is an important feature of this dog breed and is highly valued by breeders and dog show judges. We can see this type of tail in both German Shepherds and Dutch Shepherds. Your German Shepherd may be long-haired if he inherits this type of tail! A bushy tail is not typically associated with any health issues. Additionally, it is not considered a fault or disqualifying trait in dog shows! It can be passed down from mom and dad or just randomly pop up during puppyhood. This type of tail is commonly seen in many German Shepherd mixes. With all that in mind, puppies with sickle tails are not allowed to participate in dog shows as they are not purebred dogs. Straight Tail A straight tail in German Shepherds is a tail that is not as thick as a natural tail and does not curve at the end — it is completely straight. Well, it is not an unhealthy tail, it just indicates that there may be other breeds in the mix. For example, a Belgian Malinois German Shepherd mix is most likely to inherit a straight tail that is on the thinner side. The straight tail is set high, but it does not curve as a natural tail does. When your dog is excited or alert, he holds his tail straight out and you may notice a slight curve at the tail end. Docked Tail Ever heard of a German Shepherd with a docked tail? Neither have I! Even though your GSD was bred to be a working dog, tail docking is a no-no. This procedure deviates from the official breed standards and it is banned in some states. While GSD tail docking is not as common as Doberman tail docking , some breeders actually do this. And trust me, those breeders are not reliable nor reputable. However, a docked tail in adult dogs may indicate that they have been through tail injuries or infections. It is not unusual to see German Shepherds with completely curly tails, which can be caused by a genetic mutation, which can be a sign that the GSD is a hybrid dog. German Shepherd Tail Positions There are plenty of tail positions that can mean a lot and we may not understand them all. Wagging Tail A wagging tail in a German Shepherd can indicate that the dog is happy and friendly. Tail wagging can also be a sign of GSD anxiety or aggression, depending on the speed and direction of the wag. A stiff tail can be tricky as it can show dominance, signs of fear or anxiety, and confidence. Tucked Tail A tucked tail can be a sign that the German Shepherd dog is feeling scared , threatened, or that it is trying to make himself appear smaller and less threatening. It is a common sign of submissive behavior which can lead to German Shepherd aggression. The tucked tail can also mean that your dog is feeling pain or discomfort, especially if it is followed by GSD whining , panting, or limping. Anal Furunculosis Is your dog scooting around the house? He may be suffering from anal furunculosis , a common problem in this dog breed. This is important to know if you are purchasing a German Shepherd dog for a specific purpose or goal. In this case, you would be smart to choose a breeder that specializes in either the American or West German show GSD breed line. This is because show lines are bred for appearance and conformation. In contrast, working GSD lines are bred for personality and temperament traits. Appearance is always secondary. As you can see in these photos from the breeder cited here earlier, the working dog breed lines typically have thinner tails and sometimes the tails are curled, which could result in points off or disqualification in the show dog ring. Earlier here we mentioned that German Shepherds as a general rule can take a longer period of time to mature. The best way to know how long your German Shepherd will take to reach their full adult size and conformation is to learn as much as you can about the parent dogs. As the official GSD breed standard explains, adult German Shepherds can range in size from 65 to 90 pounds and stand anywhere from 22 to 26 inches tall paw pads to shoulders. As well, depending on the breed line your GSD puppy comes from, it can take anywhere from 18 months to 36 months to fully mature. As well, the breed line can influence the time to maturity, with the East German and Czech lines taking the longest in general to mature. Alternately, it could be that your puppy just comes from a breed line that takes longer to mature and you have a bit longer to wait before that fluffy, bushy tail fully grows in. The puppy coat is much softer and fluffier. It is also single-layer and is missing the second insulating under-layer these dogs grow as adults. The puppy coat will start to shed out around the four to the six-month mark. The shedding out period signals the start of the adult coat growing in. The adult German Shepherd coat is double layer. There is a longer, coarse, water-resistant outer layer that ranges from medium to long. Then there is the insulating, soft inner layer that lays close to the skin. However, this whole process can take some time and depend in size and breed line, as we emphasized here earlier. This often happens at the changing of the seasons. This is not anything to worry about.

So we usually have a good selection of very high quality puppies. View Our Available Puppies! Not all mini Goldendoodles are equal, there are a few different versions to choose from each having a little different genetic background based on the pups parents. We will explain all the differences in Mini Goldendoodle puppies and how they are bred below. We raise all versions of the mini goldendoodle breed. F1 Mini Goldendoodle Pups. A F1 puppy is also known as a First Generation puppy. The puppies mother is a Golden Retriever and the pups dad is a Mini Poodle. This version of mini goldendoodle usually has soft wavy or curly puppy fur. They will shed until they lose their puppy fur, after shedding they will shed a lot less, but will shed. This version is partially hypoallergenic and usually requires low maintenance. F1 mini goldendoodles usually need to be groomed every 6 months along with daily brushing to keep their curly hair from matting and getting tangled. The dogs usually grow up having great temperaments similar to golden retrievers. They usually get about inches high at the shoulder and range in weight from pounds. F1b Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1b is known as a second-generation mini goldendoodle with the pups mother being already an F1 Goldendoodle and the pups dad being a mini poodle also. So the difference between F1 and F1b is that the mom is not a golden retriever but an actual F1 Goldendoodle. They also have very soft curly hair but with almost no shedding. This F1b version is semi-hypoallergenic and a better choice for anyone who has pet allergies. The F1b also should be brushed on a daily basis but will need to be groomed more frequently then a F1. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is recommended to keep their coat in perfect condition. F1b Mini goldendoodles get around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulders and range between pounds in weight. F1bb Mini Goldendoodle Pups. An F1bb goldendoodle is also known as a third-generation mini goldendoodle. This mini goldendoodle version has a coat more similar to a poodle than of a golden retriever. This is because the pup is more of a poodle than a retriever. Making it the very best version for anyone with pet allergies. A 6 to 8 week grooming schedule is required to help prevent knots or matting. This version is super intelligent and loving, and usually seems to have more energy than the other versions of Mini goldendoodles. This version is usually smaller in size, weighing around pounds and only getting inches tall at the shoulders. The smaller size makes them a great size for smaller homes and apartments. Below are some Mini Goldendoodle Pups that have been adopted! All the puppies receive a thorough veterinary check before leaving with their new owners. As part of the whole puppy package, the pups have their first vaccinations, are dewormed, and have their dewclaws removed, too. Since the puppies are raised as part of the family, you can be sure that your furbaby will be well-socialized and friendly, as well as being used to hustle and bustle and make perfect family companions. Smaller types, including toy, petite, and mini Goldendoodles are extremely popular, so their price is higher than larger dogs. Health Clearances Responsible breeders always have their stud and breeding dogs health-screened for genetic diseases that could be passed onto the puppies. So, to ensure that health standards in Goldendoodles are maintained, always buy your puppy from a breeder that has their dogs tested. So, what health screening tests should stud and breeding dogs have? When the dog is older, the joint becomes stiff and inflamed, leading to arthritis and mobility issues. The breeder should be able to show you a current BVA certificate. Dogs with vWD lack a clotting factor in their blood, so if the dog is injured, it will be difficult to stop the bleeding. Symptoms include loss of fur, inflamed, crusty skin, and a rank odor. Without sufficient cortisol, the dog cannot control stress or properly digest its food. Epilepsy in dogs generally appears when the animal is between one and three years of age. Affected dogs suffer from seizures. Canine Autoimmune Thyroiditis Canine Autoimmune Thyroiditis is a slow-onset hereditary disease that eventually results in hypothyroidism in senior dogs. The condition is passed to puppies from their mothers in the colostrum, so all breeding dogs must be screened for it. However, even a well-cared-for dog has to make that final journey over the rainbow bridge one day. According to research , the most common causes of death in dogs are recorded as old age, unspecified cancer, and heart failure. Goldendoodles typically enjoy a lifespan of between 10 and 15 years. Diet A high-quality, carefully balanced diet can also help to keep your Doodle in the best health and free from severe health conditions that could be fatal, such as bloat. Health Care If your Goldendoodle is given the very best of care throughout his life, he should stay healthy and enjoy his maximum life expectancy. So, make sure that your pet receives his annual vaccinations against potentially fatal diseases. Also, your Doodle should have regular veterinarian check-ups that will highlight any early signs of potential health problems so that you can treat them quickly. Finally, remember to deworm your dog and use preventative treatment for fleas, ticks, and other parasites. Keep Fit! Goldendoodles are very active, lively dogs that need lots of exercise to remain healthy. Again, just like people, obese dogs are prone to developing life-threatening health conditions, including diabetes and cardiac health issues. So, make sure that your pet gets plenty of walks, and trips to the dog park, and enjoys games with you and your family in your backyard. My first two dogs were energetic crossbreed rescues with boundless energy! At the time, I had horses, and both my dogs loved nothing more than to come with me on hacks around the forest or along the beach. When I look back and remember those rides, I can see how those two pups got so fit! We rode for miles! Of course, not every dog is built to accompany its owner on long hikes or bike rides. So, my little Raffles can have around 15 to 20 minutes walk daily. But training sessions and playtime in the garden can be just as mentally and physically exhausting as a full-blown hike! They are an amazing family breeder. Sandy and AJ are super friendly, fantastic communicators, and truly care about Momma Gracie and her pups. You can see that Gracie is truly a beloved family pet and her puppies get a lot of TLC. When we went to visit Sandy and AJs home we immediately felt at ease. Sandy, AJ, and their 3 dogs greeted us warmly. We went upstairs to meet the puppies. Eight adorable puppies! I was absolutely amazed at how clean the pen and the puppies were. Sandy explained that weekly baths were a family affair that all 4 of their children helped with. They told us stories about their 3 dogs, breeding Gracie, raising the pups, and how the whole family gets involved. We visited for quite a while and throughout our conversation it became increasingly clear that these puppies were meticulously cared for and had become an extension of their family. This is what I really like about GracieDoodles. Everything has a personal touch. We facetimed our puppy, we got picture updates, Sandy prepared a take home bag including vaccination information, a blanket that Gracie had slept with, and some toys for our pup Maggie. Sandy checked in on us to see how the first night went, the first vet visit, and still checks in with us just to see how we are all doing. They go above and beyond caring for Gracie and her puppies. I would absolutely recommend GracieDoodles to anyone looking for a Golden Doodle from a loving family environment. I inquired, if she was available. I am so happy she was, and I got to have her. A F1b Labradoodle has been back-crossed to a poodle in an effort to insure a non-shedding coat. Even though most f1b Labradoodles shed very little or not all, it is impossible to guarantee that any dog even doodles or purebred poodles will not shed at all. Hypo- means less hypothermia is having a lower than normal body temperature. No dog can be said to be completely non-allergenic. It is a cross between a Standard Poodle and a Labrador Retriever. This designer dog breed originated in Australia around .The main goal of the Labradoodle was to create a hypoallergenic guide dog for people living with disabilities who were also allergic to dog fur and dander. Now, they are still a popular choice for service, guide, and therapy dogs and are also a popular companion dog. Labrador Retrievers and Poodles are both friendly, gentle, intelligent, and affectionate dog breeds. The Labradoodle tends to be similar. They are open and friendly and crave human attention and affection. They are happiest when they are with people. Labradoodles also tend to have an energetic and playful personality. They get along well with children, other dogs, other pets, and strangers. They are alert enough to bark or let you know when someone is at the door, but they are not generally good watchdogs or guard dogs as they are more interested in making friends. A Labradoodle is a highly adaptable dog breed. They do very well in homes with space to run and they can adapt well to apartment living as long as they are given plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. They also do well in most climates. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to extreme heat and cold. Because they enjoy being around people, they do not generally like to be left alone for long periods of time. They can also become bored if not given enough attention, exercise, or mental stimulation, which can result in destructive behavior. This dog breed is generally healthy, but they do have the chance of inheriting common health conditions from both of the parent breeds. Some health conditions to be aware of include elbow and hip dysplasia, ear infections, progressive retinal atrophy, hypothyroidism, and epilepsy. Good breeding practices can reduce the likelihood of passing on many of these health issues. Be sure to talk with the breeder about the genetic history of the parents and ask to see any health clearances; this can help allay potential health concerns. A Labradoodle tends to be eager to please and highly intelligent, which makes them highly trainable. They are a good fit for dog owners of any experience level. As with most dog breeds, Labradoodles respond best to training that is consistent and uses positive reinforcement. There are some grooming tasks that are common to every dog breed. When it comes to coat care, it can vary with a Labradoodle. Poodles have a low-shedding coat that is also high maintenance in terms of brushing, trimming, and professional grooming. Labs tend to have a higher shedding coat that needs minimal brushing and grooming. For the most part, a Labradoodle will have a low or non-shedding coat that will need to be brushed a few times a week. But, they can have a higher shedding coat should they take after their Labrador parent. You may also need a few professional grooming sessions throughout the year. Nail trimming once a month is usually enough to keep movement comfortable and prevent longer nails from snagging on things. Proper dental care for your dog will help prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Drop-down ears are more prone to infection because floppy ears are more likely to trap moisture, dirt, and debris. This will make grooming throughout their life a much more enjoyable process for both you and your dog. It can even become a bonding time for you both as well. Labradoodles tend to be high-energy dogs. They require a few daily walks plus some time to run and play in order to stay happy and healthy. They certainly love to play and you may tire out before they do sometimes. They may calm down a little as they get to be a couple of years old, but they tend to be quite energetic as puppies. Going swimming with your dog , taking a hike with them, going on a trip to the dog park, playing a game of fetch, and more are all great supplemental activities to ensure your Labradoodle gets plenty of exercise. You can even train them to compete in dog sports like dock diving, flyball, agility, obedience, and more. A fully-grown Labradoodle will usually stand between 21 to 24 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh between 50 and 65 pounds. Labradoodles generally live 12 — 14 years. However, it did not become popular until when the mix was specifically bred to create hypoallergenic guide dogs. Featured Labradoodle Article.

Its now famous qualities of intelligence, agility, speed, stealth, and courage were developed not in a police or military academy but in the sheep pastures of s Germany. The breed gained popularity in the United States during the early s due to the canine movie stars Rin-Tin-Tin and Strongheart. Unfortunately, because it is among the German breeds including the Dachshund it suffered a decline in popularity due to anti-German sentiment during and after both world wars. However, due to the rise of modern livestock management and the decline of herding as a dog occupation, von Stephanitz promoted his breed as an ideal K-9 worker and today is therefore the preferred breed for police and military units all over the world.
