His mum said despite only being three-years-old, he is now "really self conscious with the way he looks". It took him a while to build up his confidence to eat and drink and start to talk again. By raising awareness of both the risks and appropriate behaviour around dogs, I hope the Taking the Lead campaign can help reduce these kinds of injuries. The dog then attacked the man, who suffered serious injuries to his arm and was taken to hospital. The dog was captured by police and is to be destroyed. Sometimes called a Goldenpoo or Goldenoodle, the Miniature Goldendoodle is created by crossing a miniature or toy Poodle with a Golden Retriever. The result is a mild, friendly, family dog that looks like a teddy bear come to life. Their energy level matches the Poodle genes while their gentleness and willingness to please is reflective of the Golden Retriever. They are devoted friends who crave cuddles and will follow you around just to be near you. They are smart dogs with a silly streak. They are loving and loyal and gentle enough to make good playmates for kids. Their intelligence makes them easy to train. This breed has a happy disposition and a friendly, affectionate nature. They crave close contact at all times, and they can develop separation anxiety if you leave them alone too long. They typically get along well with other dogs and other pets. They are eager, excitable, and enthusiastic about outings of all kinds. Their heads are rounded and their ears are floppy and wide-set. Their eyes are large and expressive and noses are typically black. Their muzzles are short to medium with a scissor bite. They have long and fluffy or feathered tails. Mini Goldendoodles have wavy to curly hair and they do not have an undercoat, making them a great choice for people with allergies. While they are considered hypoallergenic, some allergy-sufferers may still experience symptoms. They can be: Black. Cancer Progressive Retinal Atrophy The primary recommendations we make when someone is shopping for Miniature Goldendoodles are fairly standard. Getting your dog the right amount of exercise and keeping them at a healthy weight can prevent many chronic problems and make them overall happier. In addition, taking your dog in for regular checkups, and to stay current on all shots and vaccinations, encourages health as well. One other reason that puppy parents trust Keystone Puppies when looking for Mini Goldendoodles for sale is that we make dog health our top priority! Not only do we only work with responsible breeders that prioritize healthy practices, but we also offer a no-hassle puppy health guarantee. Because they are bred to have the coat qualities of a Poodle, these pups are a popular option for owners looking to adopt a hypoallergenic dog. Their curly coat should be soft to the touch. The signature coat of pretty curls is one of the places where the Poodle ancestry truly shines through. To keep the coat looking its most beautiful, make sure to brush it two to four times per week. Not only is brushing a nice bonding experience for the pup and their person, but it also prevents tangling and matting. Owners can maintain a healthy Goldendoodle coat by bathing them every other month. Meet Mini Goldendoodles for Sale. Spingview Mini Goldendoodles. Welcome to Springview! We had our first litter of Mini Goldendoodles in and in at the request of our many clients, started to breed our Petites. Now we are one of the most respected breeder in the country for Petite Mini English Goldendoodles. Almost all of our clients come from referrals from our wonderful families, many that have two of our Doodles or more! Our site will tell you why. We have chosen to only breed the English lines because they are shown to be much healthier due to the strict breeding policies in Europe that result in less inbreeding which can cause disease plus, we just love the broad boning and wonderful coats they give us. The English lines are also known for their very gentle and laid back temperaments. We are located in beautiful Palm Beach County Florida. We are NOT a kennel, all of our dogs live as family members in our home or with their loving Guardian Families. Our puppies are born in our home where they are loved and snuggled and stay in our home until they go to yours. They are never put out into another building or area to live. Most breeders house their dogs in kennels, garages or barns, it is just easier. We choose not to, period. Our puppies are raised in a home just like yours so that they are used to normal home life with noise, music, people and dogs. All of our parents are raised in loving homes, either here with us, or in the homes of our approved guardian families. Our dogs have all the love they can handle and sleep in our rooms and on our beds. It is shown that temperament can indeed be passed down to puppies from their parents and we firmly believe that home raised dogs that are a valuable part of a loving family are the most well adjusted and tend to have the most mellow temperaments, therefore produce the most stable tempered puppies. Most of our puppies will range from pounds. Occasionally we will have a litter with some small Minis but we breed mostly Petites only. Each litter pairing may vary slightly. We specialize in the hard to find colors like our stunning dark apricots and amazing mahogany red. This also lets us get the size our clients desire without compromising the pedigree of the dog by adding other breeds to achieve our goal. Our puppies are from English Golden Retriever lines and Poodles only. Many Doodle breeders are now infusing Cocker Spaniel or Cockapoo into their lines to fix coats or get a smaller size since Cockers have short legs. They may be cute with their big eyes but a small amount of research will show you that Spaniels do not always have the best temperaments. Since we breed for health and temperament first, we never infuse Spaniels, Cockapoos or other breeds into our dogs. Please visit our Springview Mini Goldendoodle Facebook page! Families on our waiting lists or those with our puppies are welcome to join our Springview Families Facebook page and see stories and pictures from our families! Temperament and health, are the cornerstones of our breeding program and one of the reasons our puppies are consistently in such high demand. Breeding is not a hobby for me, it is my passion and I feel my calling in life; I take breeding very seriously. Our parents all have wonderful, gentle, very loving temperaments. We pride ourselves on being one of the most responsible breeders of Petite and Mini Goldendoodles to be found. All of our dogs must pass not one, but many rigorous health tests before we even think of breeding them. Please do your research and purchase the healthiest dog you can, if not from us then from a breeder who tests their breeding dogs so you can be assured of the healthiest puppy possible. All of our parents are tested for eye diseases with a special DNA test for two kinds of PRA prcd which is a hereditary disease which renders affected dogs totally blind. We not only test for the Poodle mutation but also the new test for Goldendoodles. This hereditary disease can not be detected prior to onset in any other way other than DNA testing and we test every single dog that is not proven clear by parentage meaning the parents have been tested and found to be clear. Our dogs also get a CERF exam by a special canine ophthalmologist to look for hidden eye diseases that can be passed down to offspring like cataracts. All of our dogs get certified to have clear and healthy hearts with a cardiac exam. All of our parents have their hips, elbows and patellas x-rayed by a certified OFA Vet and the x-rays are sent to OFA for independent expert evaluation. We are very proud of the structure and coats we have been able to achieve with our Petite and Mini Goldendoodles! We have been able to consistently achieve very blocky builds with amazing plush soft coats. Our coats can vary from wavy to curly, but our curly Minis are not Poodly looking at all. Our pups have wonderful strong bone structure, a testament to the wonderful genetics of our parents. We stand behind our exceptional dogs and offer a full two year Genetic Health Warranty on all of our puppies. Do they offer a full refund or partial? All of our puppies are handled daily from birth and given loads of love, cuddling and positive stimulation. When they are old enough, usually at 4 weeks of age, they spend their days in the main part of our home, in a large play area complete with toys, climbers and slide, adjusting to life with lots of fun activity and a variety of different noises. None of our dogs or puppies are ever kept in a kennel, basement or barn. It is a well known fact that home raised dogs have better temperaments than dogs raised in kennels. Our puppies are born and raised in our home until they go home to you. During the day, they get outside time to play in their own beautiful puppy play area to run and play with an assortment of toys and climbing things. We practice Early Neural Stimulation techniques on all of our puppies! This is an essential and very important ingredient in achieving a well balanced, socialized puppy. Please note that we are not affiliated nor do we sell to any Goldendoodle or Puppy Brokers in Florida or anywhere else. It is well known that puppies purchased from puppy broker sites are almost always from puppy mills. Their puppy mill operations can be very well disguised through these sites and even sites of their own. A quality, reputable breeder does not have trouble selling their own puppies and will never use a broker. One of the largest puppy mill brokers found on the internet disguises themselves as local breeders. They have over separate websites! These puppy broker puppies are actually from puppy mills, the same puppy mills that supply all of the pet stores that sell puppies. Springview is the Anti Puppy Mill! It used to be that purchasing a puppy over the internet was always from a broker or mill but that has changed now that most businesses are found on the web so it is super important to do your homework and make sure that you are working with a professional reputable breeder that loves and cares for their puppies in the same manner that you would. We have made it easy for you to see how we care about what we do. They are very social dogs who get along well with children and other animals and make excellent therapy pets. Also known as the Bull Pug, this medium-sized dog has a stocky and muscular build that is brought about by crossbreeding. Oftentimes, it is referred to as a miniature Bulldog because it is the spitting image of its parent. Note that this is just a nickname. This Pug Bulldog mix is the offspring of two popular dog breeds. You may be familiar with the English Bulldog and Pug because they are unique in terms of their physical appearance. English Bulldog History You probably know the English Bulldog as it is quite remarkable because of its wrinkled face. This medium-sized Mastiff-type dog traces its roots back to England, as its name suggests. Originally bred for bull-baiting in the s, the naturally nice English Bulldog was forced to be aggressive to fit this extreme sport. In bull-baiting, a dog is pitted against a bull inside a ring. After the ban of this sport in , breeders changed their attitude towards this breed and started to care for English Bulldogs so they may be good canine companions. Fast forward to the present, the English Bulldog is now known as a sweet and dependable dog great for families and children. Gone is its former aggressive reputation. Pug History The Pug is just as remarkable as the English Bulldog because of its similarly wrinkled face and sociable and charming temperament. Known as the pampered pets of Chinese rulers, the Pug breed was brought to Europe in the sixteenth century. This breed was equally treasured by nobles throughout the Western continent. It was popularly bred with one goal: to be a companion dog. To date, it is still a popular companion dog as it was centuries before. One thing is for sure, though. Putting together its two parent breeds was intentional, thus making it a designer breed. The English Bulldog and Pug were so popular that breeders wanted to have the characteristics of both breeds in one canine. The result of this crossbreeding is a playful companion dog with a wrinkled face which is known as the Pug English Bulldog mix. Some breeders and dog owners also wanted to have an English Bulldog that is smaller in size. One way for breeders to develop smaller versions of purebred dogs is to mix them with a smaller breed. Other examples of this crossbreeding practice are the miniature Rottweiler and the miniature Collie. Many names have been given to this hybrid like the mini Bulldog and Bull Pug and they are recognized by canine organizations like the American Canine Hybrid Club and Designer Breed Registry. As I mentioned earlier, the English Bulldog Pug mix is sometimes called a mini Bulldog and one look at this pup will tell you why. Most Bull Pugs come with a round head, broad shoulders, and a muscular and stocky body like that of their parents. In terms of its face, it has the signature wrinkles of both parents, a medium muzzle, and eyes that are black and shaped like almonds. It falls under the brachycephalic breed group which means that because of its skull, it will have a flat face and squished nose. This mix may even come with an underbite! The English Bulldog is medium-sized, typically 14 to 15 inches in height, while the Pug is around 10 to 13 inches. Putting these two together will give an offspring smaller than a regular Bulldog but bigger than a Pug. Your English Bulldog Pug mix may grow as tall as 10 to 14 inches and as heavy as 20 to 45 pounds. It does not need much space to move around. For as long as you take it on walks, it is good to go. These are coat color traits they inherit from their parents. A litter of five to seven can have a mix of these coat types. Fawn is light tannish yellow that may manifest in a wide range of shades. Dogs with this coat color may have a light shade like pale tan, dark shade like deep deer-red, or other shades in between. There are crossbreeds with fawn coats that have black areas around their muzzles like that of Pugs. There are also Pug English Bulldog mixes that have black coats. Mixed dogs with black coats typically have a solid black color throughout the body. The usual patches of piebald Bull Pugs are white with a red or fawn backdrop. There are dog owners who use the term piebald to refer to two-toned or bi-colored coats. The crossbreed that inherits this coat from the English Bulldog parent has a colored base with a striped pattern that resembles tiger stripes. Usually, brindle coats come in color groups like black and fawn, white and red, and other combinations. Both parent breeds of the English Bulldog Pug mix are great for families, making their crossbreed offspring a perfect family dog. Playful, affectionate, and sweet best describe the English Bulldog Pug mix as it enjoys being in the company of its loved ones. If you are a dog owner of this crossbreed, expect to have a loyal companion who loves having you around. In fact, it can go on without getting any attention from you for a certain period of time. If you have a laidback and sedentary lifestyle, this pup is for you because it does not move around so much. While it can get playful and energetic especially during playtime, this dog also enjoys chilling on the couch with its fur parents. Take a look at this video of a Bull Pug playing calmly with a bug: English Bull Dog Pug mix playing with Bug When it comes to children, this mix is also a good choice. Its English Bulldog parent has a reputation for being aggressive. However, this is just a misconception due to its bull-baiting history. The truth is that the English Bulldog is sweet-natured and gets along with kids. The Pug breed is also sociable which makes their mixed pup good with the little ones. Aside from kids, the English Bulldog Pug mix also enjoys mingling with other dogs. To ensure that your dog will be as friendly, start introducing other people and dogs even at a young age. Early socialization can help them turn into nice-mannered dogs. This pup may need a little bit of time for adjustment, though, when meeting strangers. Its parent breeds handle stranger dogs and humans differently. The English Bulldog may be wary of strangers and exercises caution when being approached. Quite the contrary, the Pug is friendly, sometimes to an extreme level. How your pup will react will depend on its training and the inherited temperament. Your crossbreed pup may get more temperament traits from either of its parents, but rest assured, you will get a pleasant-tempered pup that is a perfect addition to your family. To give you a peek of what an English Bulldog Pug mix is like, here is a video compilation done by a fur parent. English Bulldog Pug Mix Lifespan and Health Issues As fur parents, we all want our beloved pooches to live healthy lives and spend more years with us so we should be well-aware of the health risks that come with their breed. Several health issues concern the English Bulldog and Pug which their crossbred offspring might inherit. Most conditions are related to the respiratory system, bones and joints, and skin. The result is a pain in the limbs which may cause your dog to start limping. Patellar Luxation: Another orthopedic issue, patellar luxation concerns the patella or kneecap. Dogs with patellar luxation experience discomfort in their knees and in some cases, loss of function. This is because during knee-flexing, the patella rides outside the femoral groove. Brachycephaly Airway Obstructive Syndrome: The Brachycephaly Airway Obstructive Syndrome is a common health problem in brachycephalic or short-nosed dogs. Both parents of this mix have this flattened skull so they are prone to this. Symptoms include difficulty in breathing, vomiting, and loud snoring. Pug Dog Encephalitis: The neurological disease called Pug Dog Encephalitis happens when brain tissues are inflamed causing pups to experience seizures, behavioral changes, disorientation, and more. This usually hits Pugs that are two to three years of age but may also occur as early as six months or as late as seven years old. No known cause has been found for this kind of encephalitis. Cherry Eye: Dogs have a third eyelid called the nictitating membrane. Diabetes: Diabetes is a common problem in dogs, but there are more incidents in Pugs. Because diabetic dogs are unable to regulate sugars in their bodies, they need insulin shots to help them do so. Canine Atopy: Getting allergies is common to Pugs and in some cases, they have a hypersensitivity reaction when exposed to allergens called canine atopy. Affected areas are usually the paws, abdomen, face, ears, chest, armpits, and flanks. Basic needs for canines are food, shelter, grooming, and training. However, these needs vary from one breed to another. What the Chihuahua needs may not exactly be the same as what your English Bulldog Pug mix needs. Knowing what your pup needs allows you to give it the best care possible. Feeding and Diet To ensure that you have a healthy pup, only give good quality dry dog food to your Pug Bulldog mix. On a daily basis, this crossbreed needs about calories to be served in two split meals. You may also consider giving homemade food. Cooked vegetables like spinach, carrots, asparagus, and sweet potatoes are good for your crossbreed dog. You may also give fruits like bananas, apples, and mangoes. Always remember to remove pits and seeds before serving. Besides giving your English Bulldog Pug mix the right kind of food, you should also monitor its food intake. Both parents are prone to obesity. While a chubby pup looks very cute, it is not healthy and may lead to many problems and complications. If you are starting to notice that your pup is getting underweight or overweight, consult your vet to get a diet recommendation. Cleaning and Grooming Short coats can be seen in both the English Bulldog and Pug and the same for their crossbreed pup. Use a soft brush to keep the coat beautiful and healthy and to avoid hurting your dog. Aside from its coat, you should also pay attention to the wrinkles on its face and body. Bacteria may start to build up when left unclean so be sure to wipe and bathe when necessary. This is also to avoid infections and allergies which they may be prone to. On top of that, regularly trim the nails and clean the eyes and ears. Brushing is also important and should be added to your grooming routine. Doing all these will help prevent infections and keep your dog healthy and happy. Training and Exercise English Bulldog Pug mixes are laidback and chill. If you do not enjoy too much physical activity, this crossbreed is for you because its exercise needs are not too high. A minute walk is already enough for this mixed breed plus enough playtime and bonding. Early morning and evening are said to be the best time for walks and exercise. Remember that both parent breeds are brachycephalic which means their offspring will be too. They cannot handle heat well and are prone to overheating. When walking, ensure that you have drinking water ready. In terms of trainability, this mix can learn tricks and commands. However, you need to have patience during training as it can get a little too stubborn. This is probably a trait inherited from its parents. Be firm when you train your pup but also not too strict. Have fun and consider training as bonding time. Do you know that the secret to successful training is positive reinforcement? Dogs listen and obey more when they are rewarded for good behavior. Prepare those treats for your training time! There may also be more expensive ones especially when you buy from a reputable breeder. Factors that may affect cost include size, health, breeder reputation, and lineage. There are also mixes from champion bloodlines but prepare to shell more. When choosing a breeder to buy a mixed pup from, consider a lot of things such as the affiliation of your breeder. Puppy mills are everywhere and they have poor practices and little care for their dogs, thus, low prices. Avoid them as much as possible. Caring for a pup entails other expenses aside from the cost of the dog itself. Prepare for one-time costs such as a leash, harness or collar, bed, toys, and the like. You also have regular expenses such as food, treats, and grooming items. For new pups, you have to spend for neutering or spaying, vaccinations, and deworming. However, they are also not highly common so you have to check the availability of this crossbreed: Greenfield Puppies — Fur parents have been trusting Greenfield Puppies since .They connect reputable breeders with interested soon-to-be owners and carry both purebred and mixed puppies. It is also good for families because it gets along well with kids. Unlike the Bull Pug, the Puggle does not enjoy staying put and is highly active and energetic. Poxer: The Poxer is the offspring of a Pug and a Boxer. This medium-sized designed breed is charming and lively. Fit for those with active lifestyles, this crossbreed loves physical activities. Both parent breeds of this mix are brachycephalic which also makes this dog one. Video of Pug Mixed with English bulldog Puppies Temperament Dependable and affectionate, playful and fun-loving, just like its parents, the Pug mixed with English Bulldog is a great family pet, loving to be in the company of its near and dear ones. However, they are not clingy and can even spend a considerable amount of time without your attention. They are perfect couch companions just as their parents because of their relaxed and laidback nature. Having a gentle demeanor, they are a perfect pet for homes with small children, mingling playfully with the little ones. They would also get along well with other canines mainly when brought up together, though the company of strange dogs could make them wary and shy. They might be extremely friendly to any unknown person like their Pug parent, or a little cautious at first and then amicable or ignorant as the Bulldog. Care Exercise Because of their calm and laid back nature, their exercise needs are not too high, sufficing with a minute walk on a daily, alongside ample playtime. When indoors, you could divert its attention and keep it engaged by giving it a toy or puzzle to solve. Grooming Being an average shedder, they need to be brushed daily or once in every alternate day to remove the dead or loose hair. Brushing its teeth on a routine basis would help in controlling plaque buildup. Health Problems The English bulldog and Pug mix are likely to inherit the health issues of their parents like hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, skin ailments, yeast infection, and eye problems. If it has a long snout like the Pug, then it can suffer from respiratory disorders. Training The English Bulldog Pug mix could be stubborn and strong-willed like its English bulldog and Pug parents, thus needing firm and tactful handling. However, since they are a product of two of the most intelligent breeds, training would not be too much of a problem once you have a grip on them. Obedience training is a must to keep their stubborn nature under control. Feeding Feed your Bull Pug with good quality dry dog food. You can also include a homemade diet simultaneously that can have cooked vegetables such as asparagus, spinach, carrots and sweet potatoes as well as fruits like apples, bananas, cantaloupe, and mangoes. However, make sure you remove the pit and seeds. Protein like meat and cheese could also be added. However, all these should be given in moderation and not before you consult your veterinarian. Follow the instructions on the bag for feeding and split the daily allowance over several meals. Positive reinforcement training is the preferred method, which means to shower your pet with praise and treats. Consistency in training method, as well as the time of day, is also critical to the success of your training. Dogs have poor short-term memory and require repeated attempts to move something into their long-term memory. Never scold your dog or act negatively during a training session, and that includes your posture and facial expressions as your dog is an expert at reading them. If your pet feels it does not please you, it will quickly lose interest in the training program for something more fun. You will only need to brush your pet once a week and give an occasional bath if you smell an odor , or they get something on them. You will also need to brush the teeth regularly to maintain healthy teeth and gums, and you will also need to trim their nails every few weeks to keep them from scratching the floors while they walk, and will help them walk more comfortably. However, there are still quite a few health hazards that may concern you. This condition occurs when the third eyelid becomes mispositioned, resulting in a swollen red eyelid. If your dog is affected by Cherry eye , you will have the most problems while your dog is between the ages of four months and two years. Once your pet is two, the condition seems to fade before going away completely. Allergies Allergies are another problem that can affect your pet. The reaction can be from food, shampoos, etc. There are many things your dog might be allergic to, and you will need to distribute and new foods or treats carefully and slowly to prevent this from happening Serious Conditions Dental Disease Dental disease is one of the most common ailments in dogs, including the Miniature Bulldog. The Bulldog Pug mix has become popular among people who would like a smaller version of an English Bulldog, one that would be a better fit in an apartment or small home. What is the english bulldog pug mix? The English Bulldog was originally bred for bull-baiting, a sport that we now see as incredibly inhumane. After bull baiting was banned the English Bulldog almost became extinct. However, some fanciers of the breed were able to selectively breed Bulldogs into a docile, easy going companion. Today the English bulldog is the 5th most popular breed in the United states. They are medium sized, but very muscular with a short muzzle, short legs, drooping lips and wide-set eyes. They were especially treasured by Chinese royalty and were bred to be a companion dog. They are loving, charming, and a bit mischievous. Pugs are a small breed that are similar in appearance to the bulldog. They can have a number of different colored coats including the most popular fawn color. There are also black pugs , that are essentially the same as other pugs except for their coat color. The English Bulldog Pug mix can vary a bit as far as size, coat and temperament are concerned. This is because the pup might take after their Pug parent or their English Bulldog parent. Pugs usually stand between 10 and 13 inches tall. Bulldogs are a bit taller at 14 to 15 inches. Bulldog Pug mixes are usually between inches tall. Pugs typically weigh around 14 to 18 pounds while Bulldogs weigh as much as 50 pounds. The Bulldog Pug mix can usually weigh 20 to 45 pounds, however, they can be lighter or heavier depending on which parent they take after more. A Bulldog Pug mix will typically have a short, glossy, fine coat. Bulldogs have a single coat while most Pugs have a double coat. So, a Bulldog Pug mix could have either a single or a double coat. When it comes to the color of the coat, it can vary widely. Common colors include white, silver, black, red, brindle, fawn, and all colors can have patches of white. So grooming a English Bulldog Pug Mix can vary from dog to dog. Both the English Bulldog and the Pug are considered to be friendly, sociable breeds. As such, the BullPug can have a temperament that is a good mix of both. The English Bulldog Pug mix is docile, gentle and fairly laid back. They like nothing more than to lie around the house and nap. They are also considered to be people dogs. Overall they are a calm breed, and are friendly to strangers, house visitors and other pets. The English Bulldog Pug mix will do just fine in an apartment or small home. They are typically a small to medium sized dog with low energy, which makes them a perfect option for an apartment dweller. They do however still need to be walked daily, and given lots of attention if they are to thrive in any environment. A miniature Bulldog puppy can make a great family pet With his gentle and docile nature, the Bulldog Pug mix is typically great with kids. He might not be the type to play with the kids endlessly, but he should be fine getting pets and snuggles from the kids. Early positive experiences with children will help to ensure that he is great with kids. The BullPug is usually good with other dogs and pets. Socialization will help to ensure that the Bulldog Pug mix gets along well with everyone, including other dogs and pets. The English Bulldog Pug mix rarely barks, however, he will snore! Plus, you might want to get some earplugs for when he sleeps with you! While the BullPug typically will not demand a ton of attention he loves to be involved in the family activities. He will thrive best with plenty of attention. A Bulldog Pug mix is happiest when his family is around. The Bulldog Pug mix may not be the easiest dog in the world to train. The English Bulldog was originally bred for bull baiting. This task required him to think on his feet and take care of himself as people did not help the dogs with bull baiting tasks or otherwise direct the dogs on what to do. As such, Bulldogs are often labeled as stubborn. However, it is in their genes for them to simply not see the need to work with humans. In their past they never worked closely with humans, so why start now? The English Bulldog has a reputation as being difficult to train On the other hand, Pugs are usually pretty easy to train. Being bred as companion dogs, they take delight in pleasing their humans. Pugs can be sensitive in training and feelings can be hurt easily with harsh corrections. They are also sometimes prone to get bored with training. A Bulldog Pug mix could turn out like either of his parents when it comes to how easy he is to train. This will help him to understand what you do want him to do, rather than punishing him for bad behavior. It goes without saying that you should never use a choke chain, prong collar, or even a regular collar for training a BullPug. Eventhough he may pull a bit more, its better to have your BullPug on a leash attached to a harness, and not a collar. Even though this breed is very gentle and docile, socialization is still an important aspect of his training. You will want to expose him to as many positive experiences with people, dogs, other animals, and environments as possible. Socialization starts when the puppy is young while still at the breeders home and should continue for the life of the dog. The English Bulldog Pug mix requires little exercise, with a minute walk being all he needs. However, be careful when walking a BullPug. Their short nose makes it harder for them to breathe and harder for them to efficiently cool themselves. When walking in the summer, walk them early in the morning when it is cool. Always bring cool water for him on a walk as well. It can even be helpful to bring a spray bottle so you can squirt his body to help keep him cooler. This breed also does not do very well in cold weather. Be sure to provide him with a sweater when it is cold out. Walk him at the warmest part of the day in the winter. The BullPug will also requires mental stimulation, often above and beyond what his short walk will provide. However, he may not have much physical energy left. This is where things like treat-dispensing puzzle toys, stuffed Kongs, or a nice chew will come in handy. All of these things provide mental stimulation without too much physical work, plus, they can all be done in an air conditioned apartment! The English Bulldog Pug mix is not considered hypoallergenic, the coat of the BullPug is more like that of a Pug he may be a very heavy shedder. This shedding of hair, along with skin dander is likely to set off the allergies of any dog allergic person. The Bullpug also tends to drool a lot and dog saliva can be an allergen for some people, so it might not be the best choice of breed for people with pet allergies. Contrary to what a lot of people will tell you about mixed and designer dogs, they are not necessarily healthier than a purebred dog. Indeed a BullPug may suffer any of the genetic health issues of both parent breeds. The English Bulldog Pug mix can be prone to any of the following conditions: Eye problems, PDE Pug Dog Encephalitis , epilepsy, nerve degeneration, Hemi-vertebrae, Legg-Perthes, patellar luxation, reverse sneezing, hip dysplasia, skin problems, yeast infection, allergies, cardiovascular disease, sensitive skin, and cancer. In fact, the Bulldog has the highest incidents of cancer, when compared to any other breed. Before you get this breed, research all of the possible health problems look at symptoms, treatments, and, most of all, prevention. If you can prevent the problem with supplements, herbs, lifestyle, or food you should strive to do so. You could also look into how much the treatments would cost should your dog develop a health problem. Ask yourself if you could afford that? In addition, the breed, because of his short nose, is likely to have breathing issues and low tolerance to hot or humid weather. Always provide your BullPug with a cool spot to lay, shade, and cool water. If you see that your BullPugs tongue is loling out more than normal and has a bluish cast, immediately soak him in cool water. You can provide him with ice too. The English Bulldog Pug can be prone to obesity, so diet and the amount you feed your dog is of the utmost importance. The diet you choose can also be a very effective preventative medicine. There are several different types of food you can feed your BullPug. These foods could include kibble, canned, freeze-dried, home-cooked, and raw. The main thing you want to keep in mind when choosing a food is that it should be low or no carb and high in animal protein. When a dog eats carbohydrates that causes his pancreas to release insulin. The insulin then tells the cells to open up and store the carbohydrates as fat. So, limiting carbohydrates is very important for reducing the chances that your dog will become obese. Limiting carb is also great preventative medicine, as carbs can cause a lot of inflammation. Inflammation has been linked to all major diseases. You will want to seek out treats and chews that live up to that same standard of low-no carb and high in meat. Options may include dehydrated or freeze-dried treats that only contain meat. Even some boiled or baked meat can be a great option for a treat! It is often said that carrots, berries, apples, and bananas are great snacks for your dog. However, these treats are very high carbs and could cause weight gain in your BullPug. You can feed them these things on very rare occasions if you want to or just opt for meat treats. Again feeding high-meat food and treats is going to be way better for your dog than high-carb treats. Be aware, read the package. There are lots of foods and treats that claim to be good for dog, but if they are high carb, they will make your English Bulldog Pug mix gain weight. You can find an English Bulldog Pug mix from a variety of places such as shelters, breeders and rescues. However, some places are much better than others to buy a puppy, especially the BullPug. Poorly bred BullPugs are more prone to developing a myriad of health problems because they are bred with profit and not health in mind. This is why I recommend getting your English Bulldog Pug mix puppy from a breeder. But not just any breeder. You want a breeder that is passionate about producing healthy puppies with a good temperament. Especially asking about health. I would never recommend that you buy any puppy from a pet store or puppy mill. These poor creatures are bred for profit and nothing more. It is highly likely that their lives will be plagued by poor health and possibly a poor temperament. Your other option, and my personal recommendation is to rescue an English Bulldog Pug mix. You could do this through a rescue group or at your local shelter. Many rescue groups for purebred dogs will also rescue dogs that are mixed with their breed. You can check out the Pug rescue in your state or you could contact a Bulldog rescue in your state and ask if they have any BullPugs. Remember when adopting a rescue dog that he may come with baggage. This is not to scare you out of getting a rescue, it is simply a reminder that the dog was given up for a reason. If you have the extra time and money to dedicate to a rescue then go for it! You will have a happy and fulfilling relationship. Generally, they are docile, even-tempered and affectionate. They can be pounds and inches tall. They may have a single or double coat. The English Bulldog Pug mix is great with kids, other dogs, and other pets. This is especially true if they are well socialized early in life. They make gentle and affectionate playmates, though perhaps not overly enthusiastic about chasing or fetching. This breed can be a bit of a challenge to train. Be sure to use positive reinforcement for the best results. An English Bulldog Pug mix is perfectly content to lay on the couch all day. However, it is important to take them on a daily minute walk. The breed also needs mental stimulation so puzzle toys or stuffed Kongs are great ideas. Grooming an English Bulldog Pug mix is quite easy. A weekly-daily brushing is all he will need. However, you will have to keep an eye on his face folds. You will need to clean the facial folds when needed and be sure to keep them dry. Otherwise they may be a breeding ground for bacteria. The BullPug has the potential to get many health problems. Joint problems, eye problems, breathing problems, and skin problems to name a few. This is why getting your pup from a good breeder and implementing prevention strategies is so important. One of the best preventative measures you can take is to feed your English Bulldog Pug mix well. This means feeding a low-no carb diet that is high in animal protein. Even the smushed-faced BullPug is a carnivore and he will do best if he is fed like one. Finding a BullPug can be tricky. You could opt for a rescue or find yourself a good breeder that is breeding for health, temperament, and not profit! When you find your English Bulldog Pug mix, treat him well and he will be an affectionate and loving companion for all his life. And Are There Health Benefits? Although many breeders are offering German Shepherd puppies for sale in California, knowing which breeder to pick makes all the difference. You must avoid backyard breeders and puppy mills and report any if you find out about them. As you must have grasped from our list of breeders, good businesses always provide health testing and offer health guarantees covering genetic diseases. They vaccinate, deworm, and groom the animals and treat them as part of their family. They also take full responsibility for their animals and even offer to take them back or provide a refund if the owner has an issue. Moreover, reliable breeders are open and honest. They provide complete information about themselves and their puppies. Moreover, they encourage customers to ask as many questions as they like before making a purchase. They also invite customers to visit their facility and see firsthand where the puppies are raised and trained. So always account for these essential aspects before choosing a breeder. Last but not least, look at reviews and testimonials from previous owners to assess the customer service and work ethics of the breeder. This breed is intelligent, versatile, and hardworking. Their dedication and courage are unmatched. When trained properly, these dogs can excel at almost anything; they make reliable and affectionate companion dogs, similarly exceptional guide and assistance dogs for the handicapped, service dogs for the police and military, search and rescue dogs, and drug detection dogs. Leaving them alone or tied for long periods will make them bored and agitated, and they might resort to barking, digging, or chewing to release their stress. One particularly risky personality trait of German Shepherds is their aloofness to strangers. Hence, train your puppy from an early age to be well-socialized and exposed to different people and places. Moreover, obedience training is extremely important to tame their energetic nature and basic canine mannerisms. Overall, German Shepherds are happiest indoors and around their loving family, but make sure you have a large, fenced backyard for them to run around and release some of their natural energy. Conclusion For Best German Shepherd Breeders In California German Shepherd puppies grow up to become beautiful and affectionate companion dogs and, with the right training, will also make ideal service dogs. These majestic creatures are balls of energy and require an owner that understands their daily requirement for mental and physical stimulation. However, choosing a GSD puppy from the right breeder is critical to a happy and healthy relationship with your dog. You can contact the breeders listed above for more details about their breeding practices, breeding facility, and any other questions about German Shepherd puppies in California. The more you know, the better decision you will make! You will also like:. Cricket has settled nicely in her foster home. While she is somewhat shy and gentle, with medium drive, she is a bit guarded when first meeting new people until she feels she can trust you. Introductions must be taken slowly. After only a few days in foster care, she has proven to be comfortable with her people, even older, dog savvy kids. Cricket loves attention and will become submissive with her humans, rolling over on her back for belly rubs. She likes to learn and is food motivated. We have been working on the basics i. Cricket can give paw, crates well, and is not destructive. She rides well in the car. Leash walking is a work in progress, but she has made a great running partner. When taken for a run, she kept pace and was more focused. Cricket is not reactive to people or other dogs when out on walks. Cricket has done well when introduced to the resident male dog, but does play rough and hard, so we believe a home where she will be the only dog would most likely benefit her best. She listens well when corrected by her human to chill out. Cricket is looking for a family that will be patient with her, providing both physical and mental stimulation to help her gain confidence. Cricket is a very special girl and deserves someone who will love her forever. Someone who can take her on adventures and continues to foster her confidence. Someone that won't give up her. Cricket loves her stuffed animals and is gentle with them. She also likes to play fetch, but does not go overboard. Because of her high prey drive, a home without cats or other small critters is a must. She really enjoys spending time out in the yard, and will alarm bark if she feels those squirrels are invading her space. It will be necessary for an adopter to have recent successful experience in raising a GSD, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, or other large breed working dog. An adopter who will continue her obedience training based upon positive reinforcement is recommended, to ensure she remains on the path of a well-behaved canine companion. Buster on the left was a very cool dog we only had for a little while. We bred him a couple times, but being it was a very busy time in our own lives, we only took just this one picture of him. That's a real loss, because Buster was well worth looking at. Buster was a highly athletic running dog of pounds, and 28" at the withers, so a very big dog, and very athletic. You just almost never see that in Johnson dogs that tend to be shorter, lazier and have poor structure. Buster had fantastic structure - solid pasterns, good angulation of the hock, thick loin, straight topline, great head, just an all around well built dog of subtance with all the necessary good points that allow great agility and long-term high activity in a dog. And man oh man, could our Buster Doodle Dog run and jump! I mean this boy was a track star.Buster was also a very, very smart dog and with huge bulldog personality. He used to put his front paws on both Becky and Maria when they were sitting on wheeled office chairs in the hard floored office, and then push them all around the room, bouncing them into walls and furniture, forcing them to play with and pet him. It was so funny, because Buster was a really big dog and so insistent about it. Becky would be sitting there at her computer working, and Buster would just walk up, pull out her chair - often very much against her will, climb on her and then push her all over the office, not letting her out of the chair. Finally she'd relent and take a few moments to pet him, and then he was happy and would go do something else, but he'd always return and do the same thing again in a bit. We were at a point that if there was some important office project someone was working on, Buster just needed to be outside, or you wouldn't get anything done. Buster was a bulldog through and through and just loved to mix it up with Doc - and Doc wasn't going for it, not in the least. Buster would walk up to Doc and place his paws on Doc's shoulders - a sign of dominance one dog will sometimes do to another, as if to say, "you know I'm the top dog here, right Doc? If you're another male dog, Doc is happy to get along, but you'd better not be pulling stuff like that on him, holy smokes! So Doc would snatch Buster up and just drive him into the ground and the fight would be on, basically anytime Buster did that, and Buster never, ever, ever had any hope of winning. I mean Doc was a really serious customer in a fight - so much so it would typically all be over and done before we even had time to respond to it, and Buster would be on his back still trying to fight, but often screaming for mercy too. We'd say, "Doc, let him go now," and Doc would go walking away, another life lesson taught, the "professor of doom" headed to a nice spot on the couch. And understand, Doc never hurt Buster, and he easily could have. We'd have never tolerated that. If male dogs seek to harm each other in such scuffles we get them apart and keep them apart. We don't endorse the fighting of dogs around here by far! It was purely a dominance thing though, and once proven, that was that and Doc would walk away, no harm done. The thing is though, Buster would try again and again - maybe a few days later, maybe ten minutes later. He just didn't care how many times Doc beat him up, he'd always come back for more. It was like a game to him. He knew what Doc would do. He knew that Doc was not playing and was going to literally bounce his head off the walls for him, but here he'd come, trying it all over again a couple times a week, and always wagging his tail happily as he climbed up on Doc. During the time we had Buster, he was bred to both Bella and Lilly, both times making for some simply awesome long-legged, very correct and substantial running dogs. If you have an unfixed male Buster puppy, we'd be interested in him. If you have any Buster puppy we'd love to see some pics. Breeding dogs from a diversity of registered bloodlines - It's better for the dogs - it's better for the breed. While we do respect the achievements of more dog show oriented fellow breeders offering great praise to some of them , and while Blasco dogs have indeed stood in the winner's circle, such beauty contest victories are not our focus. We are professional breed developers, focused exclusively on hybrid, working type American Bulldogs and Bandogge Mastiffs. It is a scientific fact, outcross breeding breeding dogs together of different breeds , promotes vastly superior dog-health across a broad range of metrics. Our goal is to segregate the superior health, structural, performance and protection characteristics of the more ancient dogs, from the modern dog genome. It can be categorically stated, that all Blasco dogs, whether our American Bulldogs or Bandogges, are suitable for stable family companionship, home defense, and personal protection. Our Bandogges also being registered, pedigreed dogs , are the results of outcross breedings between American Bulldogs, South African Boerboels, English Mastiffs, Cane Corsos, Dogue de Bordeaux and other traditional and exotic Mastiff breeds. Sorry if I look a little mean, the sun was in my eyes. Except where otherwise noted, all Blasco dogs can be trained as AKC Canine Good Citizens , while retaining a strong drive towards family protection. Our Bandogges' and American Bulldogs' prey drive is subordinate to their pack drive, motivating protection of the "pack" that's you, your kids and the other animals you've taught the dog to accept. This is a big deal. It is rare that guard dogs and personal protection dogs are also trustworthy family members. Many police dogs and Schutzhund dogs that are "stable" in public on the end of a leash live in professional kennels, not living rooms. Even in hunting American Bulldogs and Bandogges do not typically kill hogs or other large game, much less your cat, chickens, goats or other domestic or livestock animals. They are bred to corral and contain, or to catch and hold a threat; i. Bandogges and other predecessors of American Buldogs were originally developed on medieval European farmyards. With no law enforcement or guns, with ruffians, scoundrels and wild beasts ever present, the Ancient World was dangerous. Children ranged many miles tending flocks, and managing unruly livestock with only their fearsome family farm dogs to protect and assist them. These dogs almost without fail will naturally distinguish between lambs to be protected and predators to be driven off or killed - a distinction clearly not prey driven. Please enjoy the site. Other destinations incur additional costs. We will not ship to any venue with quarantine requirements, or to any country where dog fighting, live animal baiting, or the eating of dogs is not explicitly illegal. Regarding the dogs pictured, some dogs are no longer with us whether having passed on, or been rehomed as adults , and we do own quite a few dogs not pictured on the site as well. Below you'll find the first few photos of our family, and our dogs, to help you get to know both of us better. There's also more pics and useful bits of information in the Dog Profiles and Photos sections. And hey, do you already own a Blasco dog? The first were hunting dogs and the second large herding dogs, who effectively protect sheep and goats. From this description of these herding dogs we quote: The lower jaw is undershot. From it grows two teeth, one on the left, the other on the right, which are only slightly exposed. These dogs have large heads and drooping ears, a strong nape and neck. The tail is thick, the bark sonorous, the jaws large; the color usually is white.I sold several dogs to folks for hog dogs. Judah with his kids. All are over pounds, "kid friendly and mother approved. Kids and American Bulldogs.Daughter Kat and son John with Doc, still a baby at 9-months with a whole lot of growing to do. Look at the peaceful demeanor of this teenage dog, totally trustworthy and gentle with children. All of our dogs develop a similar calm maturity early in life, growing in a calm, loving environment. Treat your dog like a baby bunny for the first months or so, no need to be rough to "raise their aggression. American Bulldog puppies. Our dogs meet human hands and voices at birth. E ach receives extra feedings by bottle from day-one , imprinting them as much on children as on their own mother. That says something about the bond of trust with the mother, and the early socialization these puppies already have when they enter new homes. Abi is special needs and with a unique connection to animals. She called to Mambo when he was less than a week old and still blind. He crawled feet across the floor to her a distant adventure at his age. From that moment on he preferred Abi to his own mother, often refusing to nurse off unless Abi's hand was on him. For the rest of his life, Mambo was inseparable from Abi. Of course, Mambo didn't remain a puppy for long.Mambo grew. Here's John at four hugging Mambo at under a year old. The collar is 24" making his head quite a bit larger. Mambo is over lbs. This profile shot shows Mambo's slightly longer nose. It's an important distinction between straight Johnson or Bully type American Bulldogs and "hybrid type" American Bulldogs. The "hybrid types" still achieve the heavier weights, but gain clear breathing and much better stamina. American Bulldogs like to play.John with Doc at 9-months. At this age, dog, boy and sisters had a blast. The kids would lay on the tile floor holding a leash and Doc would run them around, sliding across the floor. Doc truly loved playing with the kids. Many dogs tolerate kids, but I haven't met a well loved American Bulldog that didn't genuinely enjoy the company of little kids, forming deep and lasting bonds with the children in their families. He can catch a football, crunch up a soup bone or swallow a sock or a toy, so be sure to pick up the laundry and toys! Here the lovely wife Rebecca with Doc having just had his ears and teeth checked. Obviously we use bleach on our counters! Doc is months here, roughly pounds. This breed is not suitable for full-time crating and cages, but do okay in apartments with daily walks. Train them early and they'll be fine. Young Adult Puppies.Mambo, Doc in the rear and Pete on the right, all at or just over lbs. Pete was smallest of the litter and just look at him. He's a pound dog and can leap easily to the roof the roof of my Dodge Durango sitting on 31 inch tires a bit over six feet. Shortest dog in the litter at .Doc is also a regular flying Bulldog, but not the mischief maker Pete is. Pete was our Dennis the Menace, always into stuff, digging holes, pretending he wants to fight, but then when someone turns around snarling, throwing himself dramatically onto his back in surrender, only just teasing them. Pete is just too funny. Doc and Mambo are big fun, but a bit more serious. Not properly socializing these dogs is tantamount to attack training them. Poorly socialized, carelessly trained dogs are a high risk liability LIKELY to bite strangers in an effort to control them by forced herding and attack. To the left, Judah herds me away on Becky's command. We specialize in Bully-type, also sometimes referred to as Johnson American Bulldogs. However on occasion we do produce fantastic standard- and hybrid-type American Bulldogs. We breed for functional and balanced temperament allowing for the American Bulldog to be a family member and a companion while having the drive and intelligence to perform desired functions. At Grand Future, we typically produce large American Bulldogs. Males range in lbs and females range in lbs. We have always bred to a significantly stricter breed standard than the current American Bulldog breed standards under U. Dogs with the following characteristics are not shown at conformation shows nor bred in our kennel: 1. Full black mask — this genetic trait is usually a result of another breed having been infused into the gene pool. Usually a dog with a kinked tail itself is not at risk of health complications as a result of the kinked tail. Teeth — dogs missing more than 3 teeth. Dogs lacking full pigmentation are more susceptible to various health problems. Lack of pigment is also responsible for deafness in dogs. We have never produced a deaf dog. Interested in a puppy? We have many repeat buyers — over 30 families have purchased 2,3,4, and even 5 dogs. Our dogs generally love children and have balanced temperament. Having produced over dogs in 7 generations, we have history and data that allows us to make some conclusions that we believe are significant. The very common problem of hip dysplasia that afflicts this breed is nearly non-existent in our kennel. Our dogs tend to have normal locomotion — good movement due to anatomically sound physical structure. Our dogs have never torn ligaments such as the Canine Cruciate Ligament CCL , which leads us to conclude that such problems are likely hereditary in nature. Our dogs have never prematurely died from heart problems, which leads us to conclude that such problems are likely hereditary in nature. Our dogs have never been diagnosed with tracheal hypoplasia — a hereditary genetic defect common in bulldog breeds that leads to potential deadly obstruction of the airway. Our dogs tend to live long. Our foundation dog lived to the age of 15 years and 10 months old. Our dogs have never been afflicted with cancer at a young age. The earliest instance of cancer has been encountered at 8 years of age by one dog. The remainder of cases have been documented at over 10 years of age. The biggest tragedy for an owner is in having to care for a sick dog as a result of poor breeding, and be absolutely helpless as that dog passes in their arms. Exorbitant medical bills end up being paid to prolong the time together even by just a little with the beloved family member. As with any animal breeding program, our kennel is not immune from problems. This drives us to continually improve. We maintain contact and help our owners in any way we can; even at 4AM or during a vacation since we have owners all over the world in various timezones. Our breeding expertise enables us to deliver healthy, beautiful, strong, and intelligent American Bulldog puppies. We provide a contractual health guarantee against the following genetic health problems — hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, Canine Cruciate Ligament CCL ruptures, cataracts, entropion, ectropion, heart, kidneys, thyroid, ichthyosis, cryptorchidism, epilepsy, and any neurological disorders including NCL. Our conversation with a prospective owner always involves questions to understand the kind of dog the person would like — the more details the better. If so inclined, the prospective owner can request guidance in picking the puppy based on personality and activity level, temperament, phenotype, and more. We evaluate our puppies at 6 weeks of age on a variety of parameters. We provide lifetime unlimited advice and guidance by phone to owners concerning all subjects relating to dog ownership. You can be sure you will have the information you need to succeed even if this is going to be your first American Bulldog puppy. Because we stand by the quality of our work, we want our owners to participate in our breeding program and we are happy to provide the necessary guidance. Our dogs are also ideal candidates for service animal work. Training a service dog requires a significant investment of time and money, making the genetic health and temperament of the dog even more critical. A service dog needs to be healthy, hassle-free, intelligent and receptive to training, have stable temperament to handle any type of environment, and of course lead a long life disease-free. All of these selective requirements for service dog candidates make Grand Future American Bulldogs an ideal fit. Join us in our mission of producing the best American Bulldogs possible! We decided to take some work off your hands and do our own independent research into all the countless Bernedoodle breeders in Iowa. Here are our top choices along with some useful tips on how to choose a responsible Doodle breeder. One of the key aspects in this is selective breeding and rigorous health and genetic testing. This ensures that the puppies come from genetically sound and strong bloodlines. Additionally, ethical breeders will also back their promises with genetic health guarantees that usually cover the first one or two years from adoption. Families love our Standards for their goofy, calm, and affectionate personalities. The Mini Bernedoodle is a medium energy dog, which makes them an awesome balance of mellow and small bursts of athletic energy. Families love our Mini's for their charming, loving, and intelligent personalities. Tiny Bernedoodles fall between the medium and high energy level categories which makes them slightly higher energy than an F1 generation dog, yet extremely intelligent and trainable! Our F1b Tinys range greatly in color and markings. We usually see black or chocolate tri color, phantom, or apricot coloring and some have parti markings! Families love our Tiny's for their smaller size, non shedding, and intelligent, sweet personalities! When buying from Central Illinois Doodles, however, you can rest assured the parents, both the Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle, are purebred. What type of Bernedoodles does Central Illinois Doodles offer? At Central Illinois Doodles, we breed two types of Bernedoodle puppies — standard and mini Bernedoodles. And while both these types are incredibly adorable, they do come with several unique traits. The Standard Bernedoodle is typically a low-energy dog and makes a great companion for a relatively inactive person. Iowa families love our Standards for their goofy, calm, and affectionate personalities. The Mini Bernedoodle is a medium-energy dog, which makes them an excellent balance of mellow and small bursts of athletic energy. Iowa families love our Mini Bernedoodles for their charming, loving, intelligent personalities. Is a Bernedoodle a good breed for Iowa? As a Hawkeye, you will want to ensure your pup stays sharp, so take them to the vast number of dog parks, friendly resorts, and countless state parks. Bring Fido outlines some of the best dog-friendly spots for you and your pup to get well acquainted. Do I need pet insurance for a Bernedoodle in Iowa? A pet insurance policy ensures you can provide your adorable mini Bernedoodle with the necessary treatment without worrying about a hefty vet bill. Here is a link to the 7 best pet insurance providers in Iowa. View Our Available Puppies! You should not confuse Mini Bernedoodles with Standard Bernedoodles. Known as an affectionate loyal dog, these dogs can often be found in the home of city- dwellers worldwide. They are also an incredibly intelligent breed and their alertness makes them an excellent watchdog, provided you train diligently with the best training treats. Because of their natural body built and nutritional needs, it is vital to provide your bulldog with a balanced diet. Since these pups love to run around and live a fun lifestyle, look for products that are high in protein and low in fat, like our Pawstruck Lamb Ears , to ensure your pups have all the energy and fuel they need without packing on any unwanted fluff. In addition, Frenchies are prone to obesity and skin allergies. Unfortunately, their sweet squashed face means they need smaller pieces that are easy to swallow, ideally with low calories per treat. In addition, keep an eye out for dog products that contain wheat and corn, which trigger an allergic reaction. Avoid overly processed foods and simple carbs which can cause excess inflammation in the joints and add to unwanted body fat. That's why we took the guesswork out of our product inventory and rounded up the best dog treats for French Bulldogs. You can rest assured that all of these make great choices for your precious pooch! That's why we offer auto delivery on most of our French Bulldog products: to help you save time while enjoying your favorite products. Just indicate how often you want us to deliver your products and we'll make sure they get there on time! We also are proud to offer a bulk discount on many of our dog products to help you save more on large orders. Buy in bulk and save! I've found the best prices on bully sticks and other all-natural chews at Pawstruck. The braided bully sticks are insane! The only thing we have to worry about is keeping our puppy from hoarding all the chews and making him share.I have to play referee to make sure he plays nice with his fur brother! The first thing to think about is why you need treats. On the other hand, treats meant more for entertainment might mean something big and yummy to keep your dog occupied for a while. Another important decision is whether to go with crunchy or chewy treats. Some dogs prefer one or the other. Soft treats are often easy to break in half if needed. Some chewy treats are sticky enough that it takes some time for your dog to eat them. Look for high-quality proteins in the top ingredients—most treats use meat, although a few healthy treats use peanut butter or other protein options. Whole grains like oats, corn, and barley are generally healthy for your dog. Finding a flavor that motivates your dog can be tricky. Some of the most common flavors are beef, chicken, and salmon. The most common allergens in dogs are meat sources, so it might take some experimenting to find a protein type your dog loves and digests well. Once you get working, consistency is key to teaching your dog good behavior. A Canadian expat, Nicole now lives on a lush forest property with her Kiwi husband and new baby daughter in New Zealand. The family is passionate about providing new owners with the greatest pet possible. Sandra has been breeding since .All puppies get a neo-parvo shot at 5 weeks old, their first booster vaccination at 7-weeks old, and are kept on a deworming schedule. Pugs R Us by T. Stahlstown, PA Phone: Website: www. Tabitha breeds AKC Pugs and has puppies available throughout the year. They love their dogs and show commitment to the betterment of the breed in everything they do. But how can you spot reputable breeders when you start searching for a Pug puppy? Here are some tips to help you out. A good breeder will… 1. Issue a health guarantee Make sure that your breeder of choice offers a health guarantee. A reputable Pug breeder will write up a binding health guarantee for all of their puppies. The guarantee protects you against any genetic defects or diseases. It shows that the breeder is confident that their puppies are bred according to best practices. This means if you can no longer look after your pup for some reason, you will be expected to return the puppy to the breeder rather than taking them to a shelter. Provide standard health clearances Your breeder should have full health clearances for both parent Pugs. Good breeders often provide some early health-check clearances for their pups too, although some health clearances simply cannot be carried on such young pups. Issue a written bill of sale Reputable breeders offer written bills of sale to all of their new Pug parents. This bill of sale should be signed and will outline all the roles and responsibilities to be taken on by the buyer and seller as part of the transaction. Vaccinate their puppies All puppies should be up to date on their vaccinations before being homed with new families. Your breeder of choice should be able to provide evidence of these vaccinations. Reputable breeders welcome prospective parents into their homes to see the puppies. Follow age guidelines Puppies should never leave the litter before 8 weeks of age. Any breeder offering pups for adoption before this time is not following best practices. In fact, this could be quite damaging for the puppy developmentally. A reputable breeder will keep their pups at home until eight to twelve weeks so that they can be properly socialized and spend that crucial time with their mother and litter-mates. Answer your questions Last, but not least, a reputable breeder will be knowledgeable. In most cases, they will also want to ask you plenty of questions to ensure that their precious pups are going to good homes. We have a strict selection process that takes a variety of factors into account. That way we can ensure that only the best breeders end up on our lists. This way we know that our chosen breeders offer genetically sound and healthy puppies. Health testing shows a commitment to the health and wellbeing of each Pug. Contact information Any breeder that does not offer up their contact information is a big red flag. A reputable breeder will make it easy for you to get in contact with them by providing telephone numbers, email addresses, and they will usually have a well-established website as well. It shows a commitment to breeding best practices. Event participation Breeders who also compete in doggie events are often some of the best. Because these people tend to be dog lovers par excellence. They live and breathe for their Pugs and are proud to show them off in public. They are also more likely to have a high level of breed knowledge — an excellent sign for a breeder. Breed club membership There are lots of breed clubs out there that breeders can register with. These clubs have rules, regulations, and membership fees. If your breeder is registered with the Pug Dog Club of America, this is a great sign showing commitment to the Pug breed. Recognition awards Lastly, we look out for awards! Institutions like the AKC recognize the efforts and achievements of top breeders. The very best will be awarded the AKC recognition of merit award. During this time we recommend getting everything ready before your new arrival rattles through the front door. Your puppy will need: a crate for sleeping and training during the early days quality puppy-grade food a leash and harness plenty of toys You may also wish to purchase a puppy gate if there are areas of your home that you want to keep your Pug away from. This is all about making your home as safe as possible for your new arrival. Make sure anything that could potentially cause harm to your pup is removed. Clear your schedule Having a Pug puppy is a bit like having a human baby. So make sure to clear your schedule and get all of those errands done ahead of time! Once they arrive… 4. Avoid crowds Hold your excitement. That means no crowds. Try to keep the home environment as stress-free as possible so that your puppy can settle in and start to feel part of the family. Crate training is the first step. Lay down a regular routine from the get to and your Pug will be good as gold in no time.
