It is owned and operated by myself, Wendy Weber and my husband, Richard Weber. We are an active family who love the outdoors and spending time hiking, running, cross country skiing, gardening and having our dogs by our side. We have been breeding for 16 years. We ensure each puppy is well socialized, happy and healthy before allowing them to go to their forever homes. Each puppy receives a complete vet checkup and first set of vaccinations, as well as regular scheduled dewormings'. The f1 first generation cross is considered low to minmal shedding coat types. These dogs are extremely smart, loyal and good in nature, love people and other animals. Life expectancy is approximately 15 years. These dogs do require some daily exercise, but are a more laidback breed. They are a fun loving breed with a minimal shedding coat. The F1b Goldendoodle is usually nonshedding, good for people who have allergies. They absolutely "love their family", and as long as they receive some daily exercise, they will be happy to lay around by your side. Because the Poodle is one of the most intellegent dog breeds, and the Retriever is eager to please, the Goldendoodle breed is extremely intelligent and easy to train. Goldendoodles require frequent combing to prevent matting, and the occasional haircut will be necessary. This is another great dog for novice owners! Because Australian Shephards and Poodles are two of the most intelligent dog breeds, the Aussiedoodle is exceptionally smart, and therefore very easy to train, making excellent service and therapy dogs, as well as family pets. Aussiedoodles need to be combed frequently to prevent matting, and will require the occasional haircut. Australian shepherds are an active breed, and therefore the Aussiedoodle will require daily exercise. Aussiedoodles are excellent companion dogs that are very friendly. F1b Aussiedoodle is a cross of the f1 Aussiedoodle with a Purebred Poodle, producing a curlier coat and making this 2nd generation pup nonshedding, great for families who suffer from allergies. They do require regular groomings, approx per year. Learn more about our puppies When you bring home a Prairie Doodles puppy, your puppy has already received hours and hours of important socialization. We introduce each puppy to a wide variety of people, sounds, smells and scenarios, which helps to create balanced dogs who are inquisitive, adaptable and social. In addition, all of our puppies are litter box trained to eliminate on wood pellets. We love raising balanced, happy dogs. A cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle, the Labradoodle is an intelligent and friendly breed. They love nothing more than to be around their family. The Labradoodle combines the energy of the Labrador Retriever with the strong work ethic and intelligence of the Poodle. They do have a desire to please so training is not overly difficult but early training is necessary. The Labradoodle gets along well with everyone, from other dogs and pets to children — though their size may be a bit problematic for smaller children. They enjoy hanging out with you on the couch but can easily transition to playful and energetic. Though they will bark when a stranger is near, they will not make a good guard dog due to their friendly nature. Overall, the Labradoodle is a great pet for first-time owners thanks to their friendly nature and easy trainability. We are so grateful that we are able to help you rescue the dog of your dreams. We love dogs - plain and simple. We really love a lot of stuff. We love our family, we love the mountains, we love meeting new people, we love art, we love photography, we love the truth and we love life. Speaking of the truth. Therefore, there is a need for people like ourselves that already have a dog-seeking site to help facilitate wonderful animals finding a home. If you're reading this and wondering if there is another reason then just our love of animals for rescuing. Well, yes there is. We are breeders. Despite any bad press, breeders are part of the solution to neglected animals. We don't have puppies for fun or accident, that we hope our family, friends, or people at our local grocery store will take off our hands. We are the opposite of that. We spend most of our time speaking, emailing and texting families that are looking for a pet. We educate them, screen them for pet adoption, and support them once they do adopt. We are being responsible for the types of dogs we are breeding by selecting healthy, gentle, intelligent parents for our puppies. Our entire life is finding better ways to be good breeders and helping our families be good pet owners. With all this in mind, we believe that offering rescuing services will ensure none of our puppies we've placed in the world will ever end up in a kill shelter. We want to be the kind of breeder that supports our families for life. As a result, our families can call us and say they just can't keep their pet, for whatever reason, and we will come and get the dog. The first thing we do is have the owner explain everything about the pet they are giving up. We then bring that dog into our home and evaluate it's condition and get a game plan and timeline for finding it's new home. We are committed to keeping that dog for weeks or months until it's ready for adoption. We put that dog on our dog schedule; we do additional training; we crate train in our home; we have it sleep in our room at night for it to bond with us and see that this is it's home, and we bring it around town to socialize, socialize, socialize. Once that dog is ready to be adopted we post photos, a description, or both on our site and in advertising. Now, this rescuing isn't something new for us. As a child, I brought every stray animal home and nurtured it back to health and found it a home. I remember in college finding a stray dog with puppies behind our apartment complex with less than five dollars till the end of the week and no gas in my car. So, I asked a friend for a ride to the grocery store and posted a sign that I found a stray dog with puppies on the community board with my phone number. Next, I stood in the pet food isle and asked people if they would mind contributing a dollar so I could feed this skinny mommy so she could make milk for her puppies. A mean guy said he would get me a garbage bag to just dump them into. Well, I started balling. When he said that I freaked out that someone could even think that. I felt broken seeing this malnourished dog struggling with her puppies. I saw a person in there, a mom. Needless to say the man felt so bad when he saw me fall to pieces he handed me a twenty dollar bill. As I kept crying I thanked him and got food and some milk. I didn't know then that milk probably wasn't the best for this mommy dog. When I got back to my apartment I snuck the dog in and fed it warm milk and made a home for her and her puppies. No animals were allowed at our complex. Two of the puppies didn't make it and I was devastated. A friend came over and the mommy dog barked and really got protective so I really was getting stressed out about having this dog but I just couldn't put her outside. Luckily, a wonderful, beautiful lady called me that was a rescuer. She understood I was just a poor college student with limited resources. Two days later she arrived to pick up this dog. She said she would have the dog at her ranch until it was in better health then she would find it a home. Around a month later I received photos in the mail. The mommy stray and her three puppies found homes. One other thing, my apartment suddenly had flees and I had very upset roommates.Through this experience I learned a very important lesson, I could do something about another living thing struggling. I may have needed some financial help but all I had to do was ask. It's a fact that working together, placing an ad, asking for a donation, and doing the best I could do was good enough and that work helped get those dogs a home. Miracles happen, they really do. We are on some doodle rescue lists and many vets and shelters have our number. Many of our rescues have come from word of mouth. When we receive a rescue we do quarantine them from our doodles for a minimum of three weeks then do thorough testing for diseases before they come to our home. We typically work with a rescue for three to six months or as long as it takes. Next, is our re-homed doodles. Per our contract, we require all our adopting families, that can no longer care for their doodle, to return them to us for placement. A doodle can be returned for numerous reasons but in most cases that doodle is just too much for their adopting family. As a result, we occasionally have doodles available as re-homes. We always get a second and third opinion from outside trainers and behaviorists with every incoming dog. These evaluations are very informal and are more for the safety of our family and our doodles. We do not provide extensive reports, clinical diagnosis or professional evaluations. Instead, we use all the information we've collected and we work with each doodle until we can see they are ready for their forever home. Each of the doodles we offer are dogs I can and would live with myself. Now, I've been bitten numerous times, I've always had dogs, I've always rescued dogs and I'm quite experienced with dogs. With that said, I do not believe rescues or re-homes are appropriate for families with children and I prefer dogs with questionable pasts to go to families that are experienced with owning a dog. Please do not consider a rescued or re-homed doodle for the cost savings alone. Instead, consider a rescue or re-home for all the other wonderful benefits and perks of adopting an older dog. All of our rescues come with a contract, worming medication, blanket, 10 days of food, probiotics, toy, chew toy, tooth brush, microchip with lifetime membership in most cases, current vaccines, spayed or neutered, all the health records in our possession, life-time of support and small adoption fee. Past rescues and re-homes have ranged from to depending on many factors like costs incurred, age, training, desirable traits and expenses incurred to make them forever-home ready. Certain conditions need to be met to get Australian Labradoodle puppies. The first is if Labradoodle breeding reached the 5th generation. The Australian Labradoodle can be made up of three breeds, which is unlike any other crossbreeds that has two different purebred parents. Or if the result is from the continuous breeding of Labradoodles. Continuous breeding simply means that you would have to cross two Labradoodles who both have Labradoodle parents. Once those puppies are full-grown, you have to complete that process five times, five generations. Then you will get Australian Labradoodle puppies, which are a multigenerational crossbreed. Vocality level 3 in 5 Disclaimer: While the characteristics mentioned here may frequently represent this breed, dogs are individuals whose personalities and appearances will vary. Please consult the adoption organization for details on a specific pet. They are generally very friendly and are an ideal best friend. Labradoodles are very playful and have a high energy level. Long walks, hiking or jogging will definitely be a part of your future life as dog-parent to a Labradoodle. These dogs tend to do well with children in the home, but sometimes are better suited for older kids since they could knock smaller family members over with their size and exuberance. Are you looking for a dog park buddy? The Labradoodle could be the perfect match for you! They usually like to play with other dogs, so a good romp with some canine friends is ideal for them, with proper oversight and introductions. They would be a good choice if you have other pets in the home, given their general good nature. Still, cautious introductions of new pets are always a must! Labradoodles usually want to please their parents, so can be easily trained with positive methods. Upkeep Labradoodles have a lot of energy to burn! You should expect to dedicate at least minutes per day to giving your Labradoodle an outlet for their energy, whether in the form of a structured walk, playing in the yard with them, training, or a trip to the dog park to socialize. Their enthusiasm could easily turn to destructive behavior if not given this outlet. They would do best in a home with a fenced yard, so this energetic dog may not be the best option if you have a low-energy apartment life. Grooming needs will vary, depending on whether your Labradoodle inherits smoother or curlier fur from the Labrador and Poodle breeds. You can expect to devote some time each week to regular brushing and bathing, but some may require a trip to a professional groomer every weeks.

Please visit our available littler tab for pictures and details of all Charcoal, Silver and Champagne labrador puppies for sale throughout the United States. Life Span Did You Know? Charcoal Labrador Retrievers, or Charcoal Labs, are playful little helpers that just want to explore. Their loyalty and independence make them a perfect pet for beginners. Interestingly enough, many breeders believe the gray tint appeared from outside labrador lineage. However, genetics has been able to provide more than enough evidence to support that these are indeed Labradors, albeit rare ones. Their genes contain a diluting factor in coat color dominance traits that are responsible for the gray hue — something that is also present in Silver and Champagne Labs as well. Quizzical and adventurous, Charcoal Labs have a penchant for chasing woodland critters. As a Retriever, they make great companions or service dogs and are perfect for hunters. Besides their working dog nature, Charcoal Labradors also exhibit a playful and patient attitude. This makes them perfect for families, even those with small children that may be too exuberant for other breeds. Highly adaptable, Labs are happy in almost any environment. While they definitely love to get attention, they are not a high maintenance breed and are content to spend time guarding over their family. They do tend to have natural retriever urges though, such as digging and minor barking, but exercise and some training will usually take care of this issue. These dogs are happiest when they are with their family, are well-exercised, and have plenty of mental stimulation. They can adapt to apartment living, but they must get enough exercise, attention, and mental stimulation in order to do so. Their double coat makes them a good fit for almost any climate. As with most dog breeds, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Overall, Charcoal Labs tend to be a healthy and active dog breed. Regular visits to the vet will take care of most common issues, but owners should keep an eye out for overeating in their pup. Later on in life, Labs are likely to develop common age-related issues such as eye disorders and joint problems. Ideal for first-time owners, Labrador Retrievers are highly independent and adapt to almost any living situation. They are also highly trainable and are eager to please their owners. As companions, Labs can make the change from lap dog to guard dog and make a great fit for most owners. Grooming is fairly low maintenance for Charcoal Labs when compared to most breeds. Charcoal Labrador Retrievers will shed moderately year-round and will go through two heavier shedding cycles each year. A thorough brushing once per week, and the occasional bath will do just fine. If your pup likes to swim a lot or gets muddy on a hike or run, it may be necessary to bathe them more often. Bred to be working dogs, Labs are fairly active and need regular exercise as part of their routine. Daily walks and runs, trips to the park, or the occasional hike or swim will help them to stay active and healthy. They do tend to calm down a little once they get around 2 years old, but they will still be a high energy and active dog. Charcoal Labs grow up to be medium to large dogs. Typically, they get to be about 23 inches in height, weighing in at an average of 75 pounds. Males tend to range between 65 and 80 pounds while females range from 55 to 70 pounds. Labs enjoy a nice longevity, providing companionship for 10 to 14 years. Labrador Retrievers have a thick, tapering tail. Featured Charcoal Labrador Retriever Article. Scientifically named as Cervical Spondylomyelopathy, wobble syndrome is a predisposed condition in large dog breeds such as the Doberman Pinscher. It is described by a bone malformation in the cervical spine which is located on the neck of the dog, resulting in wobbly walking and neck pain. Hip Dysplasia. This is a genetic illness that is common to many dogs in general. In other cases, obesity and improper nutrition and diet can contribute to the development of hip dysplasia as well. The hip joints of the dog slowly deteriorate and could result in skeletal malformation. Megaesophagus is generally characterized by the enlargement of the esophagus in dogs. It is a congenital or inborn, disease that causes problems in traveling food from the mouth to the stomach. Some signs and symptoms include vomiting, weight loss, anorexia, and bad breath. Degenerative Myelopathy. This disease is described as the slow degeneration of the spinal cord in the dog. It may eventually result in paralysis as well. Warning signs include a steady weakness of hind limbs, stumbling, inability to stand, muscle atrophy, poor hygiene, stress, and depression. Separation Anxiety. Part of viewing a health issue should not only remain within the physical aspect. The Doberman German Shepherd mix is also prone to mental disorders like separation anxiety. This occurs when its owner spends less time with the dog despite its deep attachment and loyalty with the person. The Doberman German Shepherd mix does not necessarily have any health issues or illnesses that were explicitly pointed out. Nevertheless, the sicknesses and health problems that were mentioned above can still be passed on to the offspring derived from the genes of both parent dogs. Doberman Shepherds Food Requirements As a big and energetic breed, the Doberman German Shepherd mix may eat plenty of food and become obese if the dog is not supplemented with proper nutrition and a balanced diet. It needs to consume substantial amounts of protein and a moderate amount of carbohydrates and fats and is fed twice a day depending on the activities that the dog did during the day. Feeding your German Shepherd Chow mix should have a balanced diet just like any other dog. You should consult with your veterinarian about these dog foods and devise a holistic dietary plan. Too much protein is too much calorie for the dog and may result in too much weight. Your hairy companion deserves the best, so choose the highest-quality dry dog food in the market you can find. Whelps need the energy to be active, and lots of vitamins and minerals too. Food that rounds off everything their body needs is on the best puppy food brands list. Older canines have different necessities, so take a look at the best senior dry dog food list. It will help them stay strong and show off proudly. You can also find useful ideas on the best dry dog food for small dogs or best large breed dry dog food lists, which may contain some food that your pooch will adore. German Dobermans Exercise Requirements This is an active and energetic dog with parent dogs that were bred for working. The Doberman German Shepherd mix requires a substantial amount of exercise to channel and release its stored energy. Intellectual activities are also sufficient sources of mental stimulation for the dog. Below are some activities for the dog: Racing. A team of four dogs is set on the course that fetches a tennis ball through an obstacle course and returns the ball to its handler. The first team to complete the task with all their dogs wins. Like the Doberman and the German Shepherd, the Doberman German Shepherd mix can significantly benefit from this activity. Since most dogs live in urban settings, herding allows the dog an opportunity to utilize its herding instincts that were long unused. Military Training. Sending the dog to the military is an advantage for the dog to act on command and the owner to gain leadership points. On the softer side, the dog may be used as a service dog for war veterans or soldiers who are suffering from PTSD. Scenting or Tracking Games. The German Shepherd parent dog side of the German Shepherd Chow mix was tracking dogs that loved to hunt things. Some games include finding the treat, hide and seek, and find the toy. Both the Doberman and the German Shepherd are renowned guarding dogs and, and its offspring are more likely to display aggressive behavior towards suspicions and threats. The dog should learn how to safely interact with different people and animals, especially with children. Here are some training methods that you could apply to the dog: Socialization. The Doberman German Shepherd mix is a dog with a bold disposition. The dog needs to be exposed with children and other animals and dogs as a puppy to help expand its sense of protectiveness and guarding instincts towards others. The dog will eventually learn new social skills and become more mature to regulate its aggressive tendency. Positive Reinforcement. Rewarding your dog while teaching it commands can come a long way to its relationship with you. You give your dog a reward such as a treat or a toy whenever it successfully responds to your command but gives it nothing until it learns how to react correctly to your call. Puppy Training. The most important part of training the dog as a puppy is giving it your time and company. This should teach your dog the value of your bond with it and will soon acknowledge you as its alpha. Let it play with toys that you give so that it learns that being with you is a rewarding experience. Knowing how to address this reaction of the dog on its guarding instincts is vital before it grows older. But the Doberman German Shepherd mix is also a loyal and affectionate dog once it grows up. It may even feel emotional when its owner deprives the dog of reciprocation or companionship. They make excellent guard dogs and make intruders think twice before barging into your house. The dog needs a backyard space to deplete its energy levels throughout the day. It is not an ideal dog for people living in an apartment since the dog may always feel insecure and wary of strangers that walk the hallways every day. It may even act more aggressively to different people who you interact with and affect your social life as well. If your family lives in colder states and have fewer opportunities to bring out the dog, then it is not a suitable dog for you. Altogether, the Doberman German Shepherd mix makes a fearsome but loving family dog. The important thing to remember is that it is a dog that will protect the family with its life no matter how dangerous the situation could escalate References:. Should a Doberman Mix take after their Doberman Pinscher parent, they will be a large, powerful, and protective dog that is affectionate with their families. They may look imposing as they grow, but they are playful, energetic dogs that can make great family pets. Doberman Pinschers are quintessential protectors. As such, they require a lot of training and socialization to become a happy, well-balanced, and well-mannered dog. A properly socialized and trained Doberman is fiercely loyal to their families and is also a loving companion with a fun personality. As long as they are properly trained and socialized, they tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and even other pets. If a Doberman Mix takes after their Doberman Pinscher parent, then you can expect a similar temperament. However, the other parent breed will likely introduce some other potential traits and quirks, so you do want to ask the breeder about them. You can also meet the mother dog in-person to get an idea of her temperament and to see the behavior she is modeling for her puppies. The breeder should be starting socialization and training. Dobermans are moderately adaptable dogs. Because of their large size and high energy, they are better suited to homes with yards where they can run. They can adapt to apartment living, but you will need to dedicate a lot of time every day to making sure they get the exercise and attention they need to be happy and healthy. Doberman Pinschers do well in most climates. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to heat. Because of their short coat, they may need to bundle up in some winter dog products to stay warm on walks during the winter. They also do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. If the other parent breed is similar in terms of adaptability, then you can expect the same from a Doberman Mix. You still want to ask the breeder about the other parent breed so you have a better idea of what mix of traits and quirks a Doberman Mix puppy could end up with. Mixed-breed dogs are sometimes healthier than purebred dogs. The other parent breed will have their own set of potential health concerns, so you want to ask the breeder about them. Reputable breeders will screen their dogs to help avoid passing issues on to puppies. So, you should be planning to ask about the health and genetic history of both of the parents anyway. You can also ask about any relevant health tests or clearances that have been done. Doberman Pinschers are also one of the dog breeds at a higher risk for developing bloat and a Doberman Mix will likely have the same risk. Bloat in dogs is a serious condition that can quickly become fatal if gastric torsion occurs. Although Dobermans are highly intelligent dogs that pick up on things quickly and are eager to please, they are also strong, powerful dogs with a strong will as well. If they are not socialized properly or well-trained, they can become unmanageable, destructive, and pushy. Because of this, a Doberman Pinscher is usually better suited to more experienced owners. Novice owners can do well with this breed, but obedience classes or enlisting the help of a professional trainer is highly recommended. The other parent breed could make a Doberman Mix easier or more difficult to train. Make sure you ask the breeder about them and then be prepared to enroll in training classes either way. A mixed-breed dog can inherit a coat similar to one of their parent breeds or a coat that is truly a mix of both. Should a Doberman Mix end up with a Doberman coat, it will be short and will shed a little year-round. A quick daily brushing and the occasional bath is enough to keep this coat healthy. Good dental care for dogs is often overlooked, which is why gum disease is one of the most common health issues in dogs. Brushing teeth or using an enzyme toothpaste every day helps prevent painful dental diseases later in life. A Doberman Pinscher is a high-energy dog breed that needs a lot of exercise to be happy and healthy. Daily walks plus playtime and time to run or another activity are usually enough for this dog. But, they are happy to be active with you, so they will likely be up for activity if you are. These dogs are powerful, athletic, and versatile. So, once puppies finish growing , you can try a wide variety of activities with them. You can try hiking, swimming, running, playing frisbee, training for dog sports, and more. If the other parent breed is also a high-energy dog breed, then you can expect your Doberman Mix to be a high-energy dog as well. Even if the other parent breed has a lower activity level, you will still need to be prepared for the potential of a high-energy dog. A fully-grown Doberman Pinscher is usually inches tall and weighs pounds. The other parent breed can affect this, so you want to ask the breeder about them and also pay attention to which breed is the mother. Although it is not a guarantee, you can also meet the mother dog in-person. This can give you some idea of what size to expect in a fully-grown Doberman Mix. A Doberman generally lives for years. The other parent breed may affect this slightly, but you can likely expect a similar life span in a Doberman Mix. Featured Doberman Mix Article.

You might also struggle to figure out if your pug loves you. Secondly, I wanted to put together a list of signs to look out for so you can tell if your pug is happy or not. Firstly, a quick explainer though on pug love and happiness… How do I know if my pug is happy? There are lots of ways you can tell a pug is happy and loves you including wiggly bottoms, a relaxed body, being playful, a good appetite and no destructive behavior. These and more are how you know your pug loves you and is happy. Handy Hint: If you any concerns that your pug might be depressed and sad, scroll down to the bottom of the happy signs for information on what to look out for. How can I tell if my pug is happy and loves me? But aside from the obvious, what else should you be looking out for? Your pug has what appears to be a smile Pugs will often relax their mouth, lips, and tongues to give you what looks like a happy grin. How do I know if my pug is happy? Image copyright Dippydaloo on Flickr. To see a gallery of smiling pugs, click here. What you will probably notice even more is how they love to wiggle their bum when happy. If you come home through your door to be greeted by a shuffling, butt-wiggling pooch, you can be sure your pug loves you and is happy as Larry. Your pug gives you the big puppy dog eyes Pugs have some of the most expressive eyes of any dog, and not just because of the unique appearance. Like all dogs, they can give you the classic puppy dog eyes, which is a sign of a happy pug. But why do dogs do this? Happy dogs will relax their eyes, angry and scared dogs will narrow their eyes. So, if you see those soft pug eyes, you know yours is happy and loves you. Your pug shows no aggression Unhappy pugs will be aggressive and will show their teeth. Whilst they might be small, they can still snarl, put their ears back slightly, and act defensively. This guy has zero aggression — another sign to tell your pug is happy and affectionate! Image copyright Sassfrasturnip on Reddit. Your pug has a relaxed body Loving and happy pugs will be relaxed, and you will visibly see this in their body. A pug that loves you will show happiness with a relaxed body including those bum wiggles I mentioned earlier. If you have ever seen one of those pug happy dances where their whole body starts wiggling, you will know what I mean. On the other hand, a rigid body is a sign of stress. Your pug has plenty of reasons to play Playful pugs are happy pugs. They will come up to you and try to initiate a game of play; that could be fetch, ball, tug of war, tickles, you name it. For recommendations on what your pug should play with, take a look at these pug toy suggestions on Amazon. Your pug does not exhibit destructive behavior Unhappy pugs can be destructive. When stressed and sad they will chew, bite and destroy anything in sight. One of the more common reasons for destructive behavior is separation anxiety. Pugs are extremely clingy , and thrive on human company — being left home alone can have a huge impact on the way they behave. If you are out at work, or even away from home for a couple of hours, you might come back to a scene of destruction. This can include barking, digging holes, chewing, tearing, ripping and other bad behavior. To mitigate this, and to make your pug love you more, make sure you keep your pug active and exercised, play with them, and consider how long you might be leaving them home alone. We bought a Furbo dog camera for when we go out. You can buy a Furbo on Amazon ; they are great for dog separation anxiety… and will make your pug happy. Dogs who lose their appetite, act lethargic, and are reluctant to play and more often than not, sick. Your pug puppy should be eating 3 small meals a day, whereas an adult should eat twice daily. Your pug sticks their tongue out Whilst there is a condition called hanging tongue which can result from neurological and structural defects for example, an underbite , a little tongue poking out can signal happiness. You might notice it when your pug is asleep. The tongue poking out means that are completely relaxed and in a happy state. Your pug has a healthy coat A healthy coat means a happy dog… well, in most cases. But in all seriousness, a heathy looking coat is usually a sign that most is alright with your pug. On the flip side, a stressed-out pug can lose their hair. Signs to look out for include flaky skin, obvious signs of hair loss, and excessive scratching. You please them so they want to get up close and personal! Your pug follows you like a shadow When you have earned the trust of your pug, you will soon notice that they follow everywhere, from room to room, and even if you shift on the couch. As I mentioned earlier, pugs can suffer with separation anxiety, so keeping close and following you around makes them feel secure. New pugs soon become very attached to their owners and will fall in love with you quickly providing you give them security they need. Your pug will give you pug kisses How do I know if my pug loves me? Could it be any clearer than with a big sloppy a kiss? Pugs show affection to their owners by getting their nose and mouth up close to yours and administering their version of a kiss. But, play safe with this one. By offering you their well-loved toys, it means they trust you to be responsible for their favorite possessions. If your pug gives you a toy, it means your pug is happy and loves you. After all, if they share that toy, it means they want you to like and enjoy it just as much as they do. Your pug will yawn back at you You must have seen a friend or family member yawning back at you when you do one. This is a biological response triggered by empathy, leading to contagious yawns. However, a recent study I found on ScientificAmerican. If you do see your little dog yawning when you do, you know your pug loves you. How do I know my pug loves me? Because he will love jumping up at you! Image copyright DaPuglet on Flickr. When a dog rolls onto his back and exposes his belly, it means they trust you as they make themselves vulnerable. This is classic submissive behavior that only secure and happy pugs will display. Some have compared it to a low moan, and it tends to happen when your pug is settling down to relax. If your pug does this in your company it means they feel safe and happy around you, with no worries over threats. This pug looks depressed rather than happy. You can find out why this might be with the pointers below. Here are some signals that could point towards pug depression: Growling and aggressive behavior.

With its friendly nature, intelligence, and hypoallergenic coat, the Labradoodle has won the hearts of dog lovers and families alike. But how did this charming and sought-after breed come to be? In this article, we will embark on a journey through the fascinating history of the Labradoodle, tracing its origins, development, and rise to fame as a cherished and adored canine companion. The concept of crossing two purebred dog breeds to create offspring with desirable traits and characteristics gained momentum among breeders and dog enthusiasts. The primary goal was to combine the best qualities of both parent breeds, such as the intelligence and hypoallergenic coat of the Poodle and the friendly and outgoing nature of the Labrador Retriever. Conron sought to create a dog that had the intelligence and trainability of a guide dog and the hypoallergenic coat of a Poodle. To achieve this, Conron crossed a Standard Poodle with a Labrador Retriever, and the first Labradoodle litter was born. The result was a mix of traits from both parent breeds, including the desirable hypoallergenic coat. One of the puppies from this litter, named Sultan, became the world's first official Labradoodle guide dog, successfully meeting the needs of the visually-impaired woman and her husband with allergies. As word spread about this remarkable crossbreed, demand for Labradoodles grew, and breeders in Australia and beyond began to intentionally cross Labrador Retrievers with Poodles to create Labradoodles with consistent traits. The only Labradoodle registry in the world you can register your Labradoodle puppy or litter. Standard Labradoodles: Resulting from the cross between a Standard Poodle and a Labrador Retriever, these dogs typically weigh between 50 to 80 pounds and stand around 21 to 24 inches tall at the shoulder. Miniature Labradoodles: Created by crossing a Miniature Poodle with a Labrador Retriever, Miniature Labradoodles weigh between 15 to 35 pounds and stand approximately 14 to 17 inches tall at the shoulder. Medium Labradoodles weigh between 30 to 45 pounds and stand around 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulder. They weigh between 10 to 20 pounds and stand around 10 to 14 inches tall at the shoulder. Labradoodles as Service Dogs: The Labradoodle's intelligence, trainability, and hypoallergenic qualities make them excellent candidates for service work, including guide dogs for the visually impaired, therapy dogs, and assistance dogs for individuals with disabilities. Their gentle nature and ability to connect with people on an emotional level have made them valued companions for those in need of support and assistance. To ensure the health and well-being of Labradoodles, potential owners are encouraged to research and choose reputable breeders. Responsible breeders prioritize the health, temperament, and genetics of their dogs, conducting thorough health screenings and genetic testing to reduce the risk of hereditary health issues. From its humble beginnings as a guide dog for a visually-impaired woman to its status as a cherished and beloved companion worldwide, the Labradoodle's legacy continues to be written by responsible breeders and devoted families. With proper care, love, and responsible ownership, the Labradoodle will undoubtedly continue to brighten the lives of families and individuals, exemplifying the cherished bond between humans and their beloved canine companions. According to Eddie Dziuk of the OFA: "The club registration criteria for registering dogs as Labradoodles is a response to the commitment to health demonstrated by the club not only in its strong code of ethics requiring health screening, but also in response to the club members demonstrated use of OFA evaluations. ALAA Members need to notify Optigen of dogs already tested, their test numbers, and which category they should be in. Here is exactly what the CKC has to say about these misc. CKC will recognize a cross between any two purebred dogs, and will issue a registration certificate on their offspring. These crosses are not registered as purebred dogs but are registered as the offspring of purebred dogs. The registration certificate for these crosses will show MISC followed by the two parent breeds. After a name has been assigned, we encourage those breeders who are breeding this cross to form their own breed club in order to set a standard for the dogs to breed true. The dogs from these crosses will not be registered as purebred until the dogs are breeding true to standard for several generations. By allowing the breeders the option of developing new breeds, we are promoting the breeding of better dogs. With Continental Kennel Club, new breeds must be developed in at least 3 different closed colonies. Having a minimum of 3 separate colonies guarantees a much larger gene pool when developing a new breed. These colonies will breed towards the same standard that will be set forth by CKC. Once the dogs begin breeding true to type, the colonies can then be crossed among themselves in order to maintain an even larger genetic pool. The misc. Classifications on Misc. After opening the miscellaneous section of our club, allowing for the crossing of any two purebred dogs, we started receiving very interesting information from the breeders. We started getting reports that the offspring of these breeding were stronger, healthier, and less susceptible to diseases. When they bred the same Poodles to Poodles, their puppies were not as healthy, weaker, and more susceptible to disease, and they raised fewer puppies per litter. We were receiving information of this type from almost all of the crosses. With this type of data being compiled, we began doing crosscheck questionnaires and gathering other information about these unusual reports. This information that is being collected in our database will be of tremendous value in the study of genetics in the future. Our information, so far, seems to indicate that when two different breeds are crossed, the puppies seem to be far heartier, easier to raise, and less susceptible to diseases, which is now being confirmed by top geneticist worldwide. To this end, we hope to provide for the breeding of healthier and more vibrant dogs, which will be less susceptible to diseases. We have never been removed or asked to leave an association or website listing. We made these decisions based on a difference of direction from both associations for different reasons. We feel both associations do a fair job and have specific principles. Until such time that our ideals cross we will remain separate and a member of the various other networks that support collaboration among breeders, provide valuable services to owners and potential owners and parallel our own path for the good of the breed. Another link with our history is here. We felt the lowering of the health requirements of the ALAA was in contradiction with the OFA and PennHIP standards and the requirements of a not for profit were not being followed, both we could not support. We felt the closing of the stud books of the ALCA would set us on a path to required inbreeding which we refuse to do, and left us no option but to leave the ALCA. We wish them both well and have many friends still active members. Labradoodles and Australian Labradoodle dogs and puppies. The Australian Labradoodle Association If the breeder that you are thinking of using is not on the list of one these associations, then ask yourself and the breeder — why not? The Labradoodle associations only list the breeders with sound credentials. Who carry out all the necessary health testings on all their breeding stock, care, and love their dogs. They breed these puppies with integrity and from Australian Labradoodles with wonderful character and temperament. How to Choose the Right Labradoodle Breeder? If you are not able to buy a puppy from one of these accredited breeders and you have never purchased a labradoodle puppy before, then how do you avoid buying one from a backstreet breeder or puppy mill? These people breed puppies for profit and sell them to the first person who turns up with the cash. These puppies can develop serious health problems due to poor breeding. Good labradoodle breeders will only breed from dogs that are carefully selected for size, temperament, health, lineage, and possibly their coat. There are some signs that can help you to identify a good Labradoodle breeder. Tips for Selecting a Good Labradoodle Breeder Good breeders keep the dogs in the home and as part of the family — not outside in kennel runs. You should also make sure that the area where they keep the puppies is clean. They have Labradoodles, which appear happy and healthy. They want your entire family to meet the puppy and are happy for you to make more than one visit. Good breeders only breed one or a maximum of two types of dogs. Like purebreds, Labradoodles can have potential genetic weaknesses. A good breeder should explain these and should have documents to prove that both parents are free from any genetic defects such as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and eye problems like progressive retinal atrophy PRA and hereditary cataracts. Responsible breeders should provide you with a contract and health guarantee and allow you plenty of time to read them. They guide you on caring and training for your puppy and are available for your assistance after you take your puppy home. Good labradoodle breeders feed their dogs with high-quality dog food. Finally, a good Labradoodle breeder will provide references from other families who have bought their puppies. Make sure you call at least one. Questions to Ask a Labradoodle Breeder Have the parents been health screened? Ask for the original copies of the hip, elbow, and eye certificates. Can you put me in touch with someone who already has one of your puppies? Follow up recommendations. Are you a member of one of the Labradoodle associations or clubs, and are you listed as a recommended breeder? How long have you been breeding Labradoodles? You are looking for someone who has a proven track record. How many litters do your females produce a year? Do you breed any other type of dog? Dog breeders who breed various types of dogs may be more interested in the income than improving the crossbreed. What is so particular about this litter of puppies? You are looking for a breeder who uses good breeding to produce healthy dogs with excellent temperaments suited to family life. You may also be looking for one which is low-shedding and more allergy-friendly. Be patient and pick the right one. What do you feed your adults and puppies? They should be feeding their dogs quality dog food. How big will my puppy grow? The answer will depend on whether your puppy is an F1 or multi-generation Labradoodle. An experienced breeder with proven stock should be able to give you a good idea of how big the adult dog will be. If there is a health or temperament issue with the puppy, what guarantee do I have that I can return him or her? Check whether you will have a verbal agreement or a written contract. The latter is always better. Summary A good labradoodle breeder will also agree to take a puppy back within a specific time frame if it does not work out for you, or if there is a health problem. Happy, healthy puppies are what everybody wants. Taking the time now to find a responsible Labradoodle breeder is time well spent. There are hair-coated labradoodles, fleece-coated labradoodles, and wool-coated labradoodles. On top of all that, there are also different Labradoodle sizes. There are standard-sized, medium-sized, and miniature-sized Labradoodles. A standard-sized male Labradoodle will have a height of between 22 and 24 inches. A female of the same size type will usually be between 21 and 23 inches in height. Both males and females tend to weigh between 50 and 65 pounds. Both male and female medium-sized Labradoodles weigh between 30 and 45 pounds. Be aware that no matter what size Labradoodle you have, there may be quite a bit of variation. Additionally, Labradoodle breeders and owners notice how much difference there can be in Labradoodle faces. In some cases, the faces of two Labradoodles can be strikingly different, even if they are different breeds. A mixed breed Labradoodle sits on a couch next to a purebred Pomeranian. There are onerous requirements that must be satisfied in order for a dog to be considered purebred and registered with the AKC. Its father also known as the sire and mother also known as the dam must both be recognized as purebred dogs by the AKC. They must also be the same breed. So, for example, a purebred Poodle must have a purebred mother dam and father sire. To be registered with the AKC, the father and mother will also need confirmed family trees also known as pedigrees. This must be documented in detail, with nothing missing. Purebred dogs are valued for how they offer predictable characteristics. For example, the purchaser of a purebred dog can be assured that the dog will have specific physical attributes and the breed-appropriate temperament. The American Kennel Club is essential for maintaining purebred dog breed lines. Owners of purebred dogs will also find the Find a Groomer section useful. This organization has branches all over the country, and these focus on a variety of different things. There are training clubs, performance clubs, national clubs for each breed, confirmation clubs, agility clubs, and obedience clubs. In fact, this program is open to every mixed-breed dog. There are numerous advantages to taking part in this program. There are obedience and agility events, as well as the AKC Rally. Your Labradoodle will have to be neutered or spayed when it becomes an adult if you want to register it in the AKC Canine Partners Program. There are surprisingly large numbers of mixed-breed dogs, including Labradoodles, waiting to be rehomed in shelters. We should limit breeding as much as possible in most circumstances. A spayed or neutered purebred dog can still be registered, though. A proud French Bulldog Mom watches over her puppies! Should You Buy a Labradoodle? After all, puppies in this designer breed can be expensive. If you have your heart set on a purebred dog with completely predictable characteristics that you can register with the AKC, get that kind of dog. Do your research and find the breed that best suits you. If, however, you want a loving family dog that is wildly popular for a reason, the Labradoodle may be the perfect pooch for you. By cataloging helpful information about the breed and offering networking services to breeders and owners, we promote responsible dog companionship and strive to make a positive difference in the Australian Labradoodle community. All purebred dogs began by crossbreeding dogs of two or more different breeds to achieve desirable traits. Dogs displaying those traits were bred to each other to continue the breed development. This has been going on for hundreds of years. The development of the Australian Labradoodle is no different. Forward thinking breeders in Australia began breeding these labradoodles to a number of other dog breeds in an effort to produce litters with consistent conformation, coat type, and temperament. Most often the English Cocker Spaniel and American Cocker Spaniel were the breeds used with the labradoodle, however, it is reported that a few other dog breeds were also introduced into certain early lines. It is the combination of all these breeds that make up what we call the Australian Labradoodle today. The Australian Labradoodle is a purpose bred dog, with its beginnings as a service dog. Today it is also sought out as a family companion especially for those who suffer from allergies or prefer its non-shedding qualities. Here in the USA, the Australian Labradoodle Association of America ALAA has been monitoring the development of this breed by maintaining a database of pedigrees and health testing of registered dogs for almost twenty years. While the Australian Labradoodle is not considered an AKC recognized breed, we do have a breed standard that conscientious breeders work towards. We have elected to keep our stud books open which means we allow for the development of new lines using registered Labradors, Poodles and Cocker Spaniels in an effort to expand our gene pool and keep inbreeding to a minimum. These new lines are then bred into existing lines that date back to the founding dogs from Australia. This of course is an option for breeders and there are many who are only working with descendants of the dogs from Australia while others have dogs that are a combination of old and new lines. It is our breed standard and our pedigree database that dictates the breed development and breeders choose pairings to improve temperament, coat and structure working within the guidelines set out by the ALAA. The ALAA has made extensive efforts to track and verify the pedigrees of our registered dogs, therefore, an ALAA verified pedigree is the only true identifier of an Australian Labradoodle. Find an Australian Labradoodle. Can they be Kennel Club registered and do they have a pedigree? Unfortunately, there is a great deal of misunderstanding around what a crossbred dog is, never mind how pedigrees and Kennel Club registration work. A lot of people believe or hear that buying a puppy that is Kennel Club registered offers some form of protection or guarantee when this really is not the case. This article aims to bust some common myths and provide the facts! A few definitions to begin with… A pure breed or breed generally refers to a group of dogs from a known and registered set of ancestors within a closed stud book. A purebred dog is registered with the Kennel Club and has a pedigree proving that the dam and sire are of the same Kennel Club recognised pure breed. Crossbred dogs are intentionally bred from two or more recognised purebred dogs or different breeds. Crossbred dogs can only be registered with the Kennel Club as Companion Dogs or on the Activity Register; they cannot be Kennel Club registered in the traditional sense. A pedigree dog is any dog with recorded ancestry. This can be a purebred dog with a Kennel Club pedigree, a crossbred dog with a handwritten pedigree or anything in-between. Pedigree is often confused with purebred and this is the root cause of much misunderstanding. A mongrel is a dog which does not have known or recorded ancestry. So where does the Australian Labradoodle fall into the equation? The Australian Labradoodle is a crossbred. Australian Labradoodles can and should have a pedigree because they are from known lines and therefore should have recorded ancestry — they are not mongrels. Australian Labradoodles cannot be Kennel Club registered in the traditional sense because they are not members of a pure Kennel Club recognised breed. Concerned that your Australian Labradoodle puppy cannot be Kennel Club registered? The Kennel Club is a widely misunderstood organisation and its role is much more limited than people believe. The puppies could have been raised in poor conditions, the parents could be malnourished, and there might not even be any record keeping. We are licensed by the environment health department of our local authority — they inspect our premises, dogs, puppies and record keeping along with an independent veterinary surgeon every year. It is down to individual buyers to do their own research and select a breeder with good breeding practices. Since they do not derive from a closed stud book, the inbreeding coefficient COI is likely to be considerably lower which reduces the likelihood of recessive defects. Within some breeds, the gene pool is so small that it is virtually impossible to find an individual with a low COI. It is also worth noting here that it is possible for crossbred puppies to have a high COI if two closely-related individuals are bred together. Of course, this is a good thing, but it is not that simple. Inbreeding co-efficiencies are cumulative and should reflect as many generations as there is data available for. You can learn more about inbreeding co-efficiencies in the Institute of Canine Biology website. This is a document which details the physical traits that the breed should display — breeders who are interested in showing their dogs use it as a target or a set of goal posts and they aim to breed dogs as close to that standard as possible. The Kennel Club has been heavily criticised recently for producing breed standards which have compromised the health of many dog breeds. These health defects are all a result of breeders exaggerating the traits which the Kennel Club has deemed to be desirable within their breed standard. Breeders of crossbred puppies are not focused on winning conformation classes in the show ring. This means that they are more likely to be concentrating on producing puppies of sound health and temperament and not being distracted by physical traits which are most likely unimportant to you as a pet puppy buyer. Of course it is also entirely possible that they are focusing on nothing at all, so select your breeder carefully. Share this article:.

Furthermore, they get along with other animals and kids when well-socialized. Hence, ensure you get them from a reputable breeder! Hope this article will help you in that endeavor! For more guides similar to this list of Pug breeders in California, you can check out:. Email: massespudgypugs gmail. Their pups are bred to carefully chosen AKC champion-line stud dogs. These breeders work hard to better the breed standard by working closely with other reputable breeders. They strive to raise Pugs with great temperament, confirmation, and health. Pups are sold to approved homes only and come with a two-year guarantee on any hereditary conditions. Once pups are eight weeks old they can be sent home to their new families. They will have all current vaccinations and deworming, and will have been socialized and litter box trained as well. They love their dogs and show commitment to the betterment of the breed in everything they do. But how can you spot reputable breeders when you start searching for a Pug puppy? Here are some tips to help you out. A good breeder will… 1. Issue a health guarantee Make sure that your breeder of choice offers a health guarantee. A reputable Pug breeder will write up a binding health guarantee for all of their puppies. The guarantee protects you against any genetic defects or diseases. It shows that the breeder is confident that their puppies are bred according to best practices. This means if you can no longer look after your pup for some reason, you will be expected to return the puppy to the breeder rather than taking them to a shelter. Provide standard health clearances Your breeder should have full health clearances for both parent Pugs. Good breeders often provide some early health-check clearances for their pups too, although some health clearances simply cannot be carried on such young pups. Issue a written bill of sale Reputable breeders offer written bills of sale to all of their new Pug parents. This bill of sale should be signed and will outline all the roles and responsibilities to be taken on by the buyer and seller as part of the transaction. Vaccinate their puppies All puppies should be up to date on their vaccinations before being homed with new families. Your breeder of choice should be able to provide evidence of these vaccinations. Reputable breeders welcome prospective parents into their homes to see the puppies. Follow age guidelines Puppies should never leave the litter before 8 weeks of age. Any breeder offering pups for adoption before this time is not following best practices. In fact, this could be quite damaging for the puppy developmentally. A reputable breeder will keep their pups at home until eight to twelve weeks so that they can be properly socialized and spend that crucial time with their mother and litter-mates. Answer your questions Last, but not least, a reputable breeder will be knowledgeable. In most cases, they will also want to ask you plenty of questions to ensure that their precious pups are going to good homes. We have a strict selection process that takes a variety of factors into account. That way we can ensure that only the best breeders end up on our lists. This way we know that our chosen breeders offer genetically sound and healthy puppies. Health testing shows a commitment to the health and wellbeing of each Pug. Contact information Any breeder that does not offer up their contact information is a big red flag. A reputable breeder will make it easy for you to get in contact with them by providing telephone numbers, email addresses, and they will usually have a well-established website as well. It shows a commitment to breeding best practices. Event participation Breeders who also compete in doggie events are often some of the best. Because these people tend to be dog lovers par excellence. They live and breathe for their Pugs and are proud to show them off in public. They are also more likely to have a high level of breed knowledge — an excellent sign for a breeder. Breed club membership There are lots of breed clubs out there that breeders can register with. These clubs have rules, regulations, and membership fees. If your breeder is registered with the Pug Dog Club of America, this is a great sign showing commitment to the Pug breed. Recognition awards Lastly, we look out for awards! Institutions like the AKC recognize the efforts and achievements of top breeders. The very best will be awarded the AKC recognition of merit award. During this time we recommend getting everything ready before your new arrival rattles through the front door. Your puppy will need: a crate for sleeping and training during the early days quality puppy-grade food a leash and harness plenty of toys You may also wish to purchase a puppy gate if there are areas of your home that you want to keep your Pug away from. This is all about making your home as safe as possible for your new arrival. Make sure anything that could potentially cause harm to your pup is removed. Clear your schedule Having a Pug puppy is a bit like having a human baby. So make sure to clear your schedule and get all of those errands done ahead of time! Once they arrive… 4. Avoid crowds Hold your excitement. That means no crowds. Try to keep the home environment as stress-free as possible so that your puppy can settle in and start to feel part of the family. Crate training is the first step. Lay down a regular routine from the get to and your Pug will be good as gold in no time.

We are a small breeder of exceptional companion, multi-generational Australian Labradoodle Puppies. We are located in the central Florida area, minutes away from Orlando and very accessible via all of the major central Florida highways. All of our litters are hand raised in our home, never in a kennel. Our puppies are born in our master bedroom or bathroom, where they remain until they are three and a half to four weeks old. During this early period, we begin using puppy culture techniques in order to help raise very confident, well balanced puppies. At just over three weeks, we introduce a designated potty area, which they often begin finding within a couple of days, we also introduce solid foods at this same time initially goats milk, then a few days later we begin adding raw food. Later they are moved into our main living area, where they are exposed many new sounds, sights, textures and experiences in preparation for joining your family. The majority of our parent dogs share a home with one of our incredible guardian families. Virtually all of our guardians have come to us by way of referral from our existing guardian families - we'd like to think that is indicative of a very positive relationship. By implementing our guardian family team, our mom and dad dogs often live as the single pampered pet of their household. This is consistent in maintaining great family dogs - likely one of the reasons that you are considering an Australian labradoodle puppy. Our guardians are very hands on with the shaping of your future puppy, sometimes even assisting during the birthing process and later with weekly visits to their home - this is good for our momma dogs, their families and of course our puppies. Our visits allow our pups weekly car rides from week one, as well as early handling and socialization in a very safe and controlled environment. Our parent dogs are rigorously health tested prior to being considered for breeding and assessed for their temperament. We have been working with most of our lines for over fourteen years and have continued to refine them. When we give consideration to using outside lines, we are very attentive to the same qualities we seek in our parent dogs. While the majority of our litters are medium in size, we do occasionally offer mini doodles as well as standards. We tend to specialize and be known for our red and chocolate labradoodle lines, but also produce a great variety of other colors and patterns. Thank you for visiting our website! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to becoming part of your happily furever after! For this reason, make a schedule of the things you need to do regularly. Eventually, your pup will learn the routine events and will make itself adept at them. It will help you prepare for your pet, especially in the first few days of living together. As you allow your pet to adjust, do your best to create a stress-free environment for it. Always supervise it as it familiarizes itself with its new home. Still, it would be best to prepare yourself for loud noises when your pet is asleep. Moderate Training German Shepherds are highly trainable. It simply means they respond well, especially to positive reinforcement. Squeaky Toys Out of all toys, your pet will love the squeaky ones. For this reason, prepare for a lot of loud squeaks every time your pet is active. Thus, in picking your pet, you may want to consider getting it from the best.
