Brioche came home with us on July 3rd, so she's only been here a few days, but she immediately charmed her way into our lives. In fact, she's full of kisses! Megan did a great job ensuring that she was well socialized before we picked Brioche up at 8 weeks. Amazingly, our puppy had no complaints about the holiday fireworks and was not at all shy around the large crowd at our 4th of July party. But while our puppy loves to be around people, what she really wants is to be close to her humans. In fact, I am working from home with Brioche by my side! Hamilton is a gorgeous, healthy dog with a wonderful temperament. And to top it all off, he came home with absolutely fantastic foundations in socialization, crate-training, and potty-training! I live in downtown, so when I take him out for walks in the neighborhood there are always tons of people around. He has on several occasions gone up to a stranger and just bombarded them with love and cuddles. I've had several people open up and tell me that they were having a bad day or a hard time and it made their day. He has a soft spot for the homeless, elderly, disabled and children. It's very sweet to see him shower love and attention on people; especially those that really need it. Try to estimate how large your puppy is going to grow. Then, buy a divider for your crate, so that you can section off a smaller section for your puppy to use. Your puppy needs enough room to stand, sit, and turn around comfortably. But any larger than this and your pup may end up using one end of the crate as a toilet area. In the first few days of your puppy being home with you , this can be achieved easily! Leave the crate door open so your puppy can go in and out as they please. Stay away from the puppy until they are done with their business, keep other animals, children and any other distraction away from them.
