But, unfortunately, there are so many organisations only in it for the money, charging exorbitant prices and neglecting the health and wellbeing of their puppies and dogs. One of the most obvious signs of an unethical breeder is the poor or neglectful treatment of their puppies and breeding dogs. An ethical labradoodle breeder in Australia will; Strive to find the right home for their puppies. Instead, they go above and beyond to make sure they find the perfect home for each puppy. Usually, the search involves asking potential buyers a range of questions about their home and lifestyle, so they can pair families with a puppy that has a temperament right for them. Provide the highest quality care and living conditions. Ethical breeders ensure that both the puppies and breeding dogs have premium quality care, including comprehensive health checks, socialisation, and training. Rehome adult dogs. Once the female is retired, she is de-sexed and either adopted by our internal staff or a loving family. Never separate the puppies early. Puppies Downunder waits until the puppy is ten weeks old before we allow them to join their new family. Meet and exceed all the necessary requirements. We comply with all codes and requirements set by the Domestic Animal Act, actively assist with inspections of our facilities, and have received approval from the Chief Veterinary Officer of Victoria to operate as a Commercial Breeder and the Minister for Agriculture. The breeder should be asking plenty of questions. A puppy is a long-term commitment, so ethical breeders ask plenty of questions to make sure the buyer is the right fit for the puppy. Here are a few examples of questions you can expect to hear; How much space do you have? Will you be home often? How often will you exercise the dog? Do you have kids? Do you have other animals? Where will the puppy sleep? They should encourage you to visit the breeding facility. When looking for Australian labradoodle puppies for sale, you need to make sure the breeder will allow you to inspect the facility and meet the parents. You can also ensure the dogs and puppies are raised in clean, high-quality conditions by visiting the facility. The Puppies Downunder team understands that not everyone can come and visit our facility, so we have plenty of photos of both the breeding facility, puppies, and dogs online. The breeder should try and find out the address the puppy will be living, the details of the new veterinarian, and any other relevant information needed to ensure the puppy is being well looked after. Your breeder should have organised the first two vaccinations, microchipping and worming and parasite prevention, before going home with their new family. At Puppies Downunder, we go above and beyond, providing a complete medical history. We also provide you with information about their individual dietary requirements, socialisation, registration, medications, and required vaccinations. An excellent ethical breeder should be vetting potential buyers to find the right family for that specific puppy. Is the puppy cheeky? How much exercise does the dog need? Unfortunately, a lot of unethical breeders will understate or flat out lie when telling buyers how much exercise their new puppy will need. For example, people looking for a labradoodle for sale in Australia might be told they have a moderate activity level, which is accurate. However, they may be given the same advice for bordoodle, which is wildly inaccurate for this high-energy, restless dog. Can you provide references? The breeder should be able to provide you with references from a veterinarian and previous customers. We offer lifelong support. At Puppies Downunder, we continue to provide support for our customers throughout the lifetime of their puppy. Do they offer a guarantee? At Puppies Downunder, we provide a health guarantee for the first 21 days of sale. Do they provide the essentials to give the puppy the best start to life? Dogs are our passion, and we dedicate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to their care. In fact, we have the highest ethical standards of any dog breeder globally. We absolutely adore mini labradoodles, and we take advantage of any opportunity to share our love of them with others. What Is A Mini Labradoodle? Their beautiful, calm temperament and high intelligence make mini labradoodles ideal candidates for therapy pets and service dogs for individuals with autism, PTSD, diabetes, and other disabilities. How big do they grow? A mini labradoodle will typically grow to cm in height and around kg in weight, so they stay relatively small. From elderly couples to families with small children, the mini labradoodle will fit right in. Do mini labradoodles shed? That all depends on their coat. If a mini labradoodle has a wool coat, the tight curls will catch any dander, fur, and dirt, thereby minimising shedding and reducing allergies. However, wool coats are high-maintenance and require brushing every day. It all depends on the type of coat your mini labradoodle has. Fleece and hair coats are very low maintenance, but wool coats are pretty high-maintenance. They have a pretty moderate level of activity, and they enjoy minutes of exercise per day as well as playtime and mental enrichment. Are there any health concerns we should keep an eye out for? Mini labradoodles are a crossbreed, so they have very diverse genetics making them less likely to develop genetic diseases. They may also develop hip or elbow dysplasia if over-exercised or overfed. Labradoodles have adorable long ears, but this means they are prone to dirty ears and ear infections, do their ears need to be checked regularly. From birth to 8 weeks, puppies benefit from valuable socialisation time with their siblings and mother. However, not crate training your puppy may be doing more harm than good. We suggest introducing your puppy to their crate throughout their first day, enticing them with treats and making sure they associate the space with positivity. Open the crate door throughout the day, so your puppy can retreat to their safe space whenever they feel the need. Make sure your puppy has a separate area to go to the bathroom at night. Puppies Downunder are an ethical mini labradoodle breeder, and we take great pride in our high-quality breeding facilities and our commitment to providing a safe, comfortable home for our dogs. They have incredibly high intelligence and need to be kept mentally stimulated; otherwise, they can become bored, stubborn, and destructive. Dogs with high intelligence love a challenge, and they love working for their food. You can either purchase puzzle or interactive feeders such as snuffle mats or Kong toys, or you can create your own DIY slow feeder bowl. We suggest having a few different puzzles in varying difficulty levels, so your puppy is always mentally stimulated at dinner time. The labrador retriever in your labradoodle will have an instinct to retrieve, and the poodle side will have an instinct to hunt, so try to incorporate these traits into games. Silicone licking mats are a fantastic way to keep your dog entertained. Smear some peanut butter, wet food, or baby food on the mat and pop it into the freezer. Once frozen, get it out and give it to your puppy to lick for a refreshing summer treat. You can buy or make plenty of toys that encourage your puppy to solve a problem before receiving treats as a reward. For example, grab a muffin tray, some treats, and some tennis balls. Put treats in a couple of the openings and block them all with tennis balls. Your dog will need to snuffle and work out which balls have treats underneath. Cut a slot in the bottle and fill it with food or treats, and let your dog bat it around to get the treats out. Dogs who are allowed to sniff and explore on their walk are far more stimulated than dogs that just walk. Dogs are our passion, and we dedicate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to their care. Labradoodle Puppy. We focus on breeding miniature to medium sized labradoodle puppies. Health and temperament are the main priorities in our breeding programme, with all lines having been DNA tested for inherited disorders and screened for Hip and Elbow Dysplasia followed closely by the easy care and low maintenance fleece or loose wool coat types. We mostly have puppy's in chocolate, cafe and lavender though don't despair if these are not your preferred colours, as we sometimes have parti, phantom, tricolour, caramel, creme caramel, parchment, cream, black and gold. More information on coat types and colours is available on the important stuff page. Breeding and Puppy Environment We are not a kennel. Only one dog resides with us - Neo Tallai Trilogy who has taken over the reins from our long cherished Mickey the chocolate dog in the photo on the set of "The Shak" at 9's studio in Brisbane, QLD. Our current and potential breeding dogs are all family pets living with selected guardian families located in South East Qld or Northern NSW they are placed with their family from 8 weeks of age and remain with them after retirement. All puppies are raised by us with the assistance of our two teenage children. We strongly believe it is important that puppies are raised in an environment where they are exposed from day one to the sights, smells and sounds of busy family life, as this is the life that they will enter when they leave our care for yours. All of our dogs need to prove themselves first and foremost as valued and loveable members of our guardian families, then secondly pass the Australian Labradoodle Association of Australia's mandatory health testing before we will consider breeding from them. We typically have 2 litters from our girls preferably with different sire lines. Occasionally a very special girl might have three litters. We welcome feedback and are only to happy to promote the Australian Labradoodle. Regards - Carla. Dry Food for Labradooles Dry food is one of the best options for your Labradoodle. You may wonder why? Remember that you can always give water to your dog, but a healthy, dry food diet is the only thing that can provide nutrients for them. In such meals too, you can find a lot of variety. If your dog is picky, you can find tasty dry food for him. If he is losing energy too quickly, healthy, dry food options are always available. We suggest that natural dry food as preservatives, colors, and artificial flavors can cause health-related problems. Raw Food Diet Raw food is another option for your Labradoodle. Raw food is usually available in the market and considered as a meat-heavy food. Canned or Wet Food Canned dog food has high moisture content. You may find such fares at a supermarket rather than a pet store. It is because canned dog food is not the healthiest option out there. It has a high moisture content that will not provide adequate nutrients to your Labradoodle, as mentioned earlier. Additionally, you may have to heat the food at high temperatures to make it sterile. This is not always true but be sure to read the label! Yet, it is not the most feasible one for many. Home-made food needs a lot of time and effort. The raw ingredients can also get relatively more expensive. So, only go for this type of dog food if you have sufficient time for it. Semi-Moist Food The last category is semi-moist food. The name may seem a perfect balance, but it is still not the healthiest or the soundest option for your dog. Semi-moist food is excellent for snacks and treats but never for the main course. Labradoodle Feeding Guide As we mentioned, Labradoodles can vary in size from small to large dogs as adults. We can generalize here for dogs in the medium-large size range in this feeding guide. If your dog is small or very large, you will need to tailor their calories as appropriate. Grown Labradoodles that weigh pounds need about calories per day. If your dog is spayed or neutered, he may need slightly fewer calories. If your dog is older, you may need to adjust his calories for weight loss or gain. Labradoodle puppies, like all puppies, need plenty of calories so they can grow during their first year. A Labradoodle puppy that weighs 30 pounds between 4 and 12 months of age will need between and calories per day. Breeders generally recommend feeding a Labradoodle puppy small meals per day for the first few months after you take your puppy home. As he grows, you can start feeding him three meals per day. You can use the feeding recommendations on the label of the food you buy as a starting point for how much to feed your Labradoodle but they are only a general guideline. These recommendations are prepared for all dogs so you may need to adjust the amount you feed your Labradoodle. You will need to pay attention to whether your dog is gaining or losing weight on the portions you are feeding and make changes as necessary. Puppies should be slim and active. Free feeding or leaving a bowl of food down all the time tends to lead to dogs becoming overweight or obese. Labradoodle Food Comparison Table. FAQ What is the number one healthiest dog food for labradoodles? The Farmer's Dog is my top pick for the healthiest dog food for Labradoodles. It offers fresh, human-grade meals that are customized based on your dog's unique needs. By using wholesome ingredients and following science-backed recipes, The Farmer's Dog ensures optimal nutrition for your Labradoodle. What is the best thing to feed a labradoodle? The best thing to feed a Labradoodle is a balanced diet. This should include high-quality protein, healthy fats, whole grains, alternative carbs, and essential vitamins and minerals. A diet tailored to their specific age, weight, and activity level will ensure optimal health. For example, Ollie provides you with an extensive questionnaire. This will help you get an individualized and customized meal plan for your specific labradoodle that caters to his or her unique needs, preferences, and overall health status. Are labradoodles picky eaters? Labradoodles are generally not picky eaters, but individual preferences may vary. If your labradoodle seems to be picky, consider checking out a meal delivery service offering a large variety of meal options to suit his or her needs. Labradoodles can eat either wet or dry food or a combination of both. If you have a larger Labradoodle, feeding them a full wet food diet will likely be cost-prohibitive. Although there are plenty of wet and canned foods that provide complete nutrition, wet food costs significantly more per ounce than kibble. For picky dogs, using wet food as a topper to dry food can help improve the appeal of the food, or you can mix the two. For dogs with dental issues or tooth loss, wet food can be easier to chew. There is no scientific evidence to support grain-free dog foods being healthier than foods including grain. Do Labradoodles Have Stomach Sensitivities? Any dog can have a negative reaction to their food. Sometimes a dog picks something out of the trash can or outside without us knowing, and we attribute the upset stomach to their food. If you are certain that your dog is having a reaction to their food or that their food is making them sick, it is best to speak with your veterinarian to determine the exact cause of the problem. Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids Labradoodle puppies, those younger than 12 to 18 months, generally require higher levels of protein and fat to accommodate their growth. Senior dogs also need high-protein foods to help fuel muscle. Other factors to consider include size and activity level. Understanding the different kinds of food available and the respective pros and cons will help you make the best decision for your dog. It requires minimal effort to prepare, but commercial brands offer clear instructions on which dog breeds benefit from their food. Most brands also provide different foods for different ages and sizes, which helps dog owners easily transition from puppy food to adult food. Thus, commercial dog food brands are a fairly popular option when it comes to feeding pets. The tools you need to evaluate a dog food brand are typically available right on the packaging. The most important thing to check when purchasing kibble is the first ingredient listed on the packaging. In high-quality food, you can expect meat to be the primary ingredient. Conversely, lower-quality foods contain high amounts of meat by-products, such as chicken meal. They also often contain cornmeal, soy and other unhealthy ingredients that can promote health problems. This label sets high standards for U. In general, AAFCO-recommended brands should be selected over ones that have not received their stamp of approval. Finally, dog owners need to choose between dry dog food and wet canned food. Dry kibble is usually the recommended option as it has higher protein levels and is better for digestion. Dry food also encourages dental health and helps maintain good breath. Wet food is typically easier to digest and can help with hydration, so many dog owners choose to mix it in with dry dog foods every now and then. Raw Diet A raw food diet is one of the most controversial dog food options out there. Advocates of this diet argue that it promotes overall canine health, but disbelievers claim the bacteria found in raw materials can be dangerous. Most raw food advocates follow the BARF Biologically Appropriate Raw Food diet, which consists of good-quality meat, vegetables and healthy carbs like sweet potatoes or brown rice. It typically also includes organs such as liver, kidney or spleen , as well as some extra ingredients to optimize a balanced nutrition and flavor such as herbs or fish oil. While there are subscription services available for raw diets, many dog owners choose to make the food themselves. Fresh Diet Dog owners who want the benefits of raw diets without the risks may opt to feed their dog a fresh food diet. Like raw diets, these foods are all-natural and include a healthy combination of proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables and organs. However, unlike raw diets, a fresh diet ensures all meats are cooked thoroughly. While these diets require more effort and tend to be on the pricier side, they let dog owners monitor ingredients without having to worry about unhealthy bacteria. Another food option involves combining different types of diets. Many dog owners give their dogs a steady combination of dry, hard kibble with fresh veggies and meats, simultaneously reaping the benefits of dry and fresh dog food. You can consult your vet for recommendations on health supplements. Some Labradoodles may have food allergies that affect the type of diet they can consume. If you notice any food allergy symptoms, such as rashes or reddened skin, you should try to identify the culprit as quickly as possible. A good way to test for allergies is to conduct an elimination diet. This requires getting rid of certain foods and then slowly reintroducing them one by one to see if your dog has some type of reaction. Common canine allergies include: Beef. First 5 Ingredients: Beef, water for processing , beef lung, beef kidney, beef tripe Grain-Free! Like others, I started making their food but it became too time-consuming, expensive, and downright messy. A mixed-breed can inherit any combination of traits from their parents. Should a Pug Mix take after their Pug parent, they will be an affectionate, social dog that loves their families. A Pug tends to be playful, social, friendly, and gentle. They thrive on attention and affection and tend to get along well with children, other pets, and other dogs. As long as they are well-socialized, they also tend to be open and friendly with strangers. They can be prone to barking and it can become a nuisance behavior if you do not train your dog to stop barking early on. If the other parent breed has a similar temperament, then you can expect the same from a Pug Mix. You still want to ask the breeder about the other parent breed as they will likely introduce their own potential quirks. You can also meet the mother in person to get a sense of her temperament and see the behavior she is modeling for her puppies. Although the breeder should have started socialization and training, it is up to you to continue to train and socialize a puppy once you get them home. Pugs are moderately adaptable dogs. Although they do well in apartments as well as larger homes, they are particularly sensitive to heat and cold as a snub-nosed dog breed. They also do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. If the other parent breed is similar, then you should be able to expect the same from a Pug Mix. The other parent breed could still introduce some traits that affect adaptability, so you do want to ask the breeder about them. Mixed-breed dogs can sometimes be healthier than purebred dogs, but it is not a guarantee. They can inherit none, some, or all of the conditions common to their parent breeds. Despite having a flat face, the skin, palate, teeth, tongue and tissue are still the same as they would be for a dog with a much longer muzzle. This makes them highly prone to the conformation-related, respiratory disorder known as brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome BOAS. This condition presents a wide array of symptoms, from snoring and snorting to very severe breathing problems. Small nostrils and a short windpipe often cause severe sleep apnea. These interrupted breathing episodes cause a decrease in blood oxygen levels and excess carbon dioxide in the bloodstream. While treats can be an important aid during training, giving too many can cause obesity. Make sure to deduct these calories from his daily food allowance. Like all dogs, your Bulldog is an individual and some will be more active than others. As this study found, Bulldogs with more severe BOAS walked a shorter distance, moved more slowly and took longer to recover from exercise than those with only mild signs. However, the reality is the Bulldog is simply not capable of managing more than a low level of exercise. Hot, humid days can make breathing even more difficult. Under no circumstances should you over-exercise this breed. It can result in collapse and further health complications. If your Bulldog shows signs of overheating, has trouble walking or falls down, you should take him to the vet immediately. Caring for a Fat Bulldog Being fat is no fun for any dog. The proper food will allow you to manage their weight while still providing them with the required nutrition. Be sure you are providing them with high-quality dog food. Avoid overdoing it with treats during the training period as well. Many of us use treats to reward our puppies for good behavior, but praise, pats, and belly rubs are usually more effective for training an English Bulldog puppy. Look for alternative snacks in the treat aisle of your favorite pet or grocery store. Developing a more intimate relationship Maintaining the cleanliness and physical health Bringing out the natural oil on the coat Avoid issues like bug infestations Checking anomalies and possible health problems Here is a list of the tools and equipment you will need for grooming this pup: Slicker Brush Cotton Ball Nail Clipper A regular grooming routine is essential in keeping the shiny and healthy coat of your Husky Golden Retriever Mix puppy. A fundamental step in the grooming routine is regular brushing using a slicker brush. Other steps include giving a bath, trimming the nails, and cleaning its ears. The use of a slicker brush over a pin brush is advisable due to its purpose of untangling mats or knots in the fur. Also, it helps in removing debris and loose hair. It can run through the thick layers of the double coat and facilitate effective grooming. Another advantage of this brush is its massaging quality since it has long pins. Massaging the skin of your pup will stimulate the production of essential oils for moisturizing the coat. Also, this will increase the blood circulation and promote health for the dog. This activity should be done at least once a week to decrease the amount of shedding and avoid matting of fur. In brushing the whole coat, you need to brush places of matting and thicker fur more diligently. If your dog has a collar, remove it when brushing the coat, and do not leave out the neck area unkempt. Cutting matted fur should only be done when you cannot brush out the mat. The next step is bathing your pup, especially when it is smelly and dirty. Some people proceed to trim the coat of the puppy before bathing it. It is your discretion if you will follow the steps to the dot. After lathering with shampoo and then rinsing the coat, you can opt to blow-dry the coat. The frequency of bathing will also depend on your decision, based on the smell and sanitary condition of the Golden Retriever Crossed with Husky puppy. After the bath, you will proceed to brush the coat again. Then, you will initiate the trimming process. In trimming, you should avoid trimming the entire coat. The double coat of your puppy functions as an insulation against the fluctuating weather. It also traps warm air on a cold day and cool air on a hot day. Usually, groomers use clippers for this process. However, you may opt to use thinning shears for cutting parts of the coat. You need to trim the fuzzy hair growth around the edges cleanly. You will trim the fur between the toes next. For cracked dog pads, you can apply Vaseline as a regimen. In trimming the legs, you will cut the unkempt fur to achieve symmetry and balance. The fur on the front of the legs is shorter than that on the back. The hair on the back of the legs should flare out slightly behind the dog. Similar with the legs, trimming the chest and neck should aim to remove the unkempt fur. It should be noted that you will move the thinning shears with the direction of hair growth. After the neck and chest areas, you will trim the fur around the ears. This step will help fend off parasites. Lastly, you will trim the tail. For this step, you will trim the length by tapering the tail, starting from the base to the tip. Part of the grooming process is checking for wax buildup in the ears and signs of an ear infection. You can clean their ears with a cotton ball and a dog-specific ear solution. You should never use a cotton swab for their ears. You can also use a cotton ball with mineral oil or microfiber cloth with mineral oil to remove debris from the eyes. The frequency of this activity depends on the rate of its toenail growth. Long names may break, and cause irregular gait and infection. If you do not have this much time in your hands, you should schedule appointments with trustworthy groomers around your neighborhood. Husky Mixed with Golden Retriever Puppies Health Problems Most of the Husky mixed with Golden Retriever dogs are free of fatal and congenital diseases, primarily because of their enlarged gene pool. Their average life span is 10 to 13 years. One condition you need to prevent is heat stroke. Since this breed has a dense and double coat, they do not tolerate heat as much as they tolerate cold weather. You should protect your puppy from overexposure to the sun and keep it well hydrated. Even if there is a reduced risk for the usual health conditions from the parent breeds, it is important to know the possible diseases your puppy may acquire, especially when it gets older. One these health problems is a cataract, an opacity of the eye lens. When your dog acquires this disease, its eyes will appear cloudy. One of the possible health problems is hip or elbow dysplasia. This is an inheritable disease wherein the thighbone does not attach properly with the hip joint. Elbow dysplasia involves joint laxity due to different growth rates of the bones of the elbow. Vaccinations are weapons against fatal diseases. There is a generally accepted guideline of puppy vaccination. Some of the recommended vaccinations are measles, rabies, and DHPP which is the combination of vaccines for distemper, adenovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. By knowing the possible serious health issues of this mixed pup, you can be more watchful when your pup manifests some warning signs related to these possible conditions. Golden Retriever Mixed with Husky Food Requirements The following factors determine the amount of food you will give to your Golden Retriever mixed with Husky puppy: Age—choose a chow that is age-appropriate; our essential guides to the best puppy food brands and the best senior dry dog food will help you find the right one! Size—depending on the size, some pups will thrive on the best dry dog food for small dogs whereas others will be better off with the best large breed dry dog food Metabolism Level of activity The kind of food recommended for this mixed breed is dry food, preferably one of the brands featured in our best dry dog food guide. Commonly, medium to large dogs is given three to four cups of nutritious dog food, divided into two meals. Just like with human food, there are brands you should avoid at any cost. For your convenience, we singled out some of the worst dry dog food brands. Meanwhile, Golden Retrievers have a big appetite and are at risk for obesity. This classification means that you should provide them with lots of mental and physical stimulation. The duration of physical activity would be enough to maintain its weight and protect them from lifestyle diseases. I recommend walking, running, playing with Frisbee or tennis ball for your Golden Retriever Crossed with Husky puppy. If the Golden Retriever Husky mix puppy does not get enough physical and mental stimulation, it may exhibit behavioral problems. These problems include inappropriate barking, chewing, and causing property destruction. This breed is intelligent and fast learners. However, their independent side may antagonize your directions if training started late. An effective way to facilitate the training is by initially having short training sessions. To avoid possible destructive behavior that can be traced to their Husky origin, you should employ obedience training and leash training. You need to assert yourself as the leader by having consistency and clarity. A reliable way to do this task is making the puppy wait for its food. This act will establish your role as the provider and keeper of all the resources, such as the treats, food, toys, and other assets. During training, it is possible to encounter mischief and fluctuations in concentration. A way to prevent this situation is keeping the sessions short. However, you should be cautious and never leave your child and the dog alone. This action could aggravate and provoke the pet. Aside from the appropriate training for the dog, you should teach your child to avoid disturbing or playing with the pup when it is eating or sleeping. Golden Retriever mixed with Husky pups are affectionate to families. They have an innate loyal character, and they enjoy being around people. This trait is probably attributable to its Golden Retriever parent. Because they are a cross between two dog breeds, the Goberian can have any mix of characteristics from the parent breeds. They may take on more traits of one parent or have a combination of both. Goberians are a relatively new designer dog breed that tends to be friendly, affectionate, and gentle. Because they are a mixed dog breed, they are not recognized by the American Kennel Club. They tend to have a gentle and loyal nature. Goberians tend to get along well with children and other dogs. They can get along with other pets in the house, but may need to be introduced and socialized for it if they inherit the Siberian Husky prey drive. The Goberian is a moderately adaptable dog breed. Because of their energy, they are best suited for larger homes with a securely fenced-in yard where they can run. They can adapt to apartment living if they get enough exercise and attention. They tend to prefer cooler climates, but they do well in just about any climate. As with any dog breed, they are sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Despite the occasional independent streak, a Goberian thrives on affection and loves to be near their families. Plus, they tend to be easily bored, so they do not tend to do well with long periods of alone time. As with any hybrid dog breed, a Goberian can inherit all, a mix, or none of the potential health problems common to the parent breeds. Talking to the breeder about the genetic history of both of the parents and asking to see any health clearances can help ease potential concerns you may have. In general, the Goberian is intelligent and learns quickly, but the overall trainability of them will vary. They can be moderately easy to train or more difficult depending on the mix of characteristics from the two parent breeds. If the Goberian puppy takes more after their Golden Retriever parent, they will be easier to train and eager to please you. However, if they take after their Siberian Husky parent, they will be more difficult to train as they will be more stubborn and independent. Regardless, you will want to plan for puppy training classes, especially if you are a first-time dog owner. Plus, the classes offer opportunities for early socialization, which is also important. Because the Goberian is a mixed dog breed, their coat can come in a variety of coat colors. Their coat tends to be long and dense and may be straight or slightly wavy. They can range from light to moderate shedding year-round and may have two heavier shedding sessions as the seasons change. Bathing is an occasional requirement as needed and many Goberians only need a bath every months. Trimming nails on a monthly basis is usually sufficient. You want to make sure their ears are not trapping moisture, dirt, or debris that could lead to an ear infection. Thankfully, you can help prevent dental disease in your dog by implementing a good dental care plan. You can also supplement your efforts with vet-approved dental hygiene treats and chews, and even a specially-formulated dental care diet. The Goberian is a high-energy dog breed. They require a lot of daily exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. In addition to daily walks and some playtime, your Goberian is likely to enjoy running with you, going on a hike , and maybe even swimming. A fully-grown Goberian usually stands inches tall at the shoulder and weighs between pounds. A Goberian generally lives years. Goberian Puppies for Sale Thanks for visiting our Goberian page! As such, they are recognized experts in facts and figures for many breeds of dogs. According to their data, most labrador litters contain between five and ten puppies, with the average being seven. In comparison to all dog breeds, Labradors are right in the middle. The average size of a litter of puppies, in general, is five or six dogs. The largest known litter of labradors ever recorded was 14 puppies , born to a black labrador in the United Kingdom in .Labradors are huge fans of babies as they age. Active families love a Lab! In short, probably not. Your vet can confirm pregnancy, give an estimate of how far along the pregnancy is, and give you an approximate due date. Humans and canines alike know the excitement of a first pregnancy. When it comes to labradors, this can also impact the size of the litter. Biological and evolutionary factors come into play and make first litters smaller. Expect one or two additional puppies from her first two. After the fourth pregnancy, the litter size tends to taper off. In addition to whether or not it is her first litter, the age of the mother labrador also affects the size of the litter. Generally speaking, the older the mother, the smaller the litter size. This fact is a little confusing, though, when you also consider that first litters are smaller. It means that a 3-year-old labrador will have larger litters than a 5- or 6-year-old labrador. So, if two female labradors have their third litter at ages four and six, the four-year-old labrador is likely to have the larger litter of the two. How Old is Dad? Believe it or not, the age of the father of the puppies can also impact the size of the litter. This is because of the viability of his sperm. When a female dog is in heat, her ovaries release several eggs that are ready for fertilization. However, if the male dog is older, his sperm tends to be less vigorous, meaning fewer will reach the eggs, and therefore fewer eggs will be fertilized, resulting in smaller litter size. A Labrador lounges on his dog bed Natural versus Artificial Insemination How did the mother dog become pregnant? Many labrador breeders and breeders for other types of dogs, as well prefer artificial insemination. It also takes the social interactions of the two dogs out of the equation. Some dog handlers and breeders hesitate to put their mama dogs in such a sensitive and potentially unpredictable situation. The bad news is that, while artificial insemination seems to be the more controlled and safe option, it usually yields fewer puppies. Of course, the breed of the dog is a significant factor in genetics. Does the Size of the Mom Matter? Not really. If you have a mom who is part labrador herself or is a purebred labrador but has puppies with another breed, some of these numbers and averages change. If your pregnant pooch is only part labrador, the size of her litter will also depend on what other breeds she contains. The general rule of thumb is that the larger the breed, the larger the litter. If your lab is a part German shepherd , expect a somewhat bigger litter. The breed of the father matters less, though. The breed of the father has more to do with the size of each individual puppy. Fun fact: the largest known litter of puppies ever recorded is a whopping .Unsurprisingly, the 15 male and nine female puppies were born to a Neopolitan Mastiff in , one of the most giant breeds around. Do Labs like water? Healthy dogs tend to produce larger litters. My wife and I love playing with our active miniature Labradoodle Max. We want all Oodle puppies to be healthy and happy, have lots of fun and be part of the family. Load More. View Larger Image How many puppies do Goldendoodles have? In the F1BB Goldendoodles category, puppies have .The next F2B Goldendoodle litter size is .The F2BB Goldendoodle litter consists of .How many puppies do Goldendoodles have after the first litter? The latter generations get more Poodle genes. Poodle is the dominant parent determining factors like size, intelligence, and coat. As Poodles can be miniature, medium, or standard-sized, they can bring forth puppies of varying heights and weights. How many puppies do Goldendoodles have? Now you understand a few facts about the Goldendoodle generations and backgrounds. Next, we will answer this: how many puppies do Goldendoodles have? On average, a Goldendoodle female gives birth to three to eight puppies. This number is an estimate because several factors affect the litter size. The dog generations matter when estimating the litter size. Arriving at an accurate answer requires first answering these two questions. First, how many puppies do Golden retrievers usually have? Golden retrievers produce eight puppies on average. The next question to consider asking yourself is this: how many puppies do Poodles have? Poodle dogs tend to have more babies as their size increases. Hence, a toy Poodle produces three puppies, while a miniature one produces five. But what number of puppies do standard Poodles have? Standard Poodles are the biggest dogs in the lot. They produce about seven puppies in one litter. A Goldendoodle dog should produce a range of three to eight puppies. Litters can be bigger than eight or smaller than three. Nobody can accurately answer this, how many puppies do Goldendoodles have? It is a matter of chance. When your dog gives birth, you can tell if your estimations are correct. What can increase or reduce the litter size? Goldendoodles are some of the loveliest Doodles. No person can mind having many puppies in a litter. Sadly, you might expect many puppies only to get three or fewer. A secret to having a larger litter size lies in the degree of care you offer the female dog. Although you cannot control some biological factors affecting fertility, you should play your part. Goldendoodle size Generally, the litter size depends on the Goldendoodle size. A poodle is the determinant of size. Earlier, we noted that Poodles have more babies as their sizes increase. Thus, larger Goldendoodles come from mating a standard-sized Poodle and a Golden Retriever. These hybrid dogs will produce more puppies than miniature and medium Goldendoodles. Here is the breakdown: How many puppies does a standard Goldendoodle have? How many dogs does a medium Goldendoodle produce? How many puppies does a mini Goldendoodle have? Goldendoodle generations We already told you how generations could affect the number of puppies a mother can have. The offspring can be big or small depending on the percentage of parent genes in a Goldendoodle. Where the gene ratio is , you might have fewer or many puppies. If a dog inherits more dominant fertility genes from its Golden Retriever parent, it might have a big litter. In most cases, though, puppies have more Poodle genes. How many puppies do Goldendoodles have based on this notion? If Poodle genes are dominant, the litter size will be three to eight puppies. We must also consider this: What number of puppies does a standard Poodle have? Standard Poodles have seven puppies on average. You will be at an advantage if mating Goldendoodles that came from a Standard Poodle parent. The odds are high that the litter will be big. Food A female Goldendoodle needs to eat enough calories each day. It also needs to eat a balanced diet to get fertile many times. Likewise, pregnant dogs require a healthy diet to deliver puppies with higher odds of survival. How many puppies do Goldendoodles have when eating a proper diet? First, a young female dog should always eat a healthy meal to better its chances of going into heat. Provide the best dog food for Goldendoodle during pregnancy time to get healthy puppies. Secondly, the dog should eat a more nutritious minerals and vitamin diet when pregnant and after giving birth. If you follow these easy rules, your Goldendoodle might sire more puppies. Unhealthy mothers deliver smaller litters and weak puppies that may not make it to adulthood. Current health status How many puppies do Goldendoodles have if their health status is good? Healthy Goldendoodles produce more puppies than unhealthy ones. For instance, your Goldendoodle boasts a lot of mental and physical energy. It needs proper physical and mental stimulation to get fit and feel happy. A Goldendoodle requires sixty minutes of exercise daily and some quiet time. Another determinant of good health is the number of medical checkups you offer your dog. Before mating your Goldendoodle, call a professional veterinarian for a thorough medical checkup. After breeding your pet successfully, keep taking it for pregnancy testing and evaluations. A veterinarian can guide you on how to care for a pregnant Goldendoodle pet. The pet does not need regular prenatal checkups like humans. Take the pet to a vet in the beginning and toward the end of a pregnancy. How many puppies do Goldendoodles have at birth? A health checkup done two to three weeks before birth ensures that the mother can deliver all puppies safely. If the mother and litter are healthy, wait for the birth date to deliver the puppies at home. As with humans, puppy deliveries are not always safe. As anything can happen, visit your veterinarian if an emergency crops up. Whether the dog delivers at home or not, it requires a thorough medical checkup about forty-eight hours after. The vet will verify if the mother and puppies are doing fine. How many puppies do Goldendoodles have if the pregnancy ends well? The dog might not have stillbirths, which means all the puppies in the womb will come out. A younger woman has optimal fertility levels, unlike an older woman. Also, an older woman than thirty-five years has higher odds of carrying twins, triplets, or other multiple pregnancies. Hence, how many puppies do Goldendoodles have based on age? Younger Goldendoodles with smaller body sizes reach maturity earlier than their larger counterparts. Also, older Goldendoodles can have more puppies than younger mothers. Nonetheless, an older dog should be super healthy to avoid having weak puppies in one litter. Younger dogs produce fewer but stronger puppies and can come on heat faster than older dogs. Breeding conditions The environment in which you breed your dog can determine the litter size it would produce. If the female dog has stress, it will deliver fewer puppies. It might also deliver weak puppies with limited chances of reaching adulthood. How many puppies do Goldendoodles have in favorable breeding conditions? Your dog can have a bigger litter if it has no stress. Human mothers respond poorly to stress during pregnancy. Some suffer from miscarriages, hypertension, and more. Dog mothers are similar in that they can lose a pregnancy due to stress. To help your Goldendoodle get pregnant and not suffer a miscarriage, provide a nurturing environment. Inbreeding The choice of dogs to mate with is crucial when answering this part: how many puppies do Goldendoodles have? If you keep mating the same related dogs, the chances of having smaller litters are high. Inbreeding leads to genetic defects in dogs and other animals. Additionally, the resulting offspring might inherit health issues from the family lineage. The more health problems the dogs have, the lower their survival chances. Even surviving puppies might later pass bad genes to their offspring. The solution to inbreeding is finding a male from another dog family. Artificial insemination can lead to higher or lower-quality puppies. It may also decrease the litter size. Dogs sire more puppies when they mate naturally. Besides, the professional conducting artificial insemination should use more than one dog to increase the litter size. When should you allow your dog to mate for the first time? A mating cycle can affect the puppies numbers. As we mentioned, a female can reach its first mating cycle at six months. Do not give your female to a male dog at this age. Its body is too young and might not have adequate eggs. Besides, a young dog can develop pregnancy complications and deliver in an emergency. These factors can lower their odds of having many puppies. It is better to have your Goldendoodle reproduce at twenty-four months or after. After the eighth to the tenth year, it is safer to forbid your Goldendoodle to have other litters. It can develop risky health issues and die before its fifteenth year. A Goldendoodle should get pregnant in its second or third cycle. Their gestation period is sixty-one to sixty-four days. As we earlier said, the type of Poodle used to breed your Goldendoodle can affect its future offspring. If the Poodle is of medium size, chances are that the mother would produce five to six puppies. Again, if the mother has stronger reproduction genes from its Golden Retriever parent, her chances of reaching six puppies go up. A Goldendoodle dog will deliver three to eight puppies in their first litter. The more Poodle genes the dogs have, the higher the odds of having a smaller litter. But when considering standard Poodles, the litter gets bigger. Three or eight puppies are not standard figures but estimates. Ever asked this: how many puppies do Labradoodles have? Labradoodles have twelve puppies per litter. They produce a larger litter than Goldendoodles. Miniature Goldendoodles can have three to 4 puppies per litter. They produce the least number of puppies on average. What is the Best Age to Breed a Goldendoodle? The correct age to mate your Goldendoodle dog is 24 months. Six to twelve months is usually the first cycle in most dogs. It is not the best age because the pet is too young to nurture puppies. The second or third cycle is the best time. Related Posts. Overall, Labradoodles are wonderful dogs that make great companions for people of all ages. If you are looking for a friendly, intelligent, and hypoallergenic dog, a Labradoodle may be a good choice for you. Labradoodle History Wally Conron, who was in charge of the breeding program for the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia, purposefully crossbred a Standard Poodle and Labrador Retriever in to develop the Labradoodle as a hypoallergenic guide dog. The first cross produced Sultan, a dog with a hypoallergenic coat, aptitude, intelligence, and personality suitable for being an effective guide dog. Sultan worked successfully with a woman in Hawaii. Other breeders saw the merit of crossing these two breeds, and the Labradoodle quickly rose in popularity like its Labrador Retriever parent. These dogs are often produced by crossing a Labrador Retriever with a Poodle, but multigenerational breeding has begun in an attempt to produce a viable and recognizable breed. The Australian Labradoodle Association and the International Australian Labradoodle Association are taking steps to move this designer breed into registered breed status in the next few years. These groups have made great efforts to bring breeders together so that they are working to achieve the same standards through multigenerational breeding. Labradoodle Size The Labradoodle comes in three size variations, depending on the size of the Poodle used for the first-generation breeding. The three sizes are Standard, Medium, and Miniature. The Standard Labradoodle should be 22 to 24 inches in height for a male and 21 to 23 inches in height for a female, while both can range in weight from 50 to 65 pounds. The Medium Labradoodle should be 18 to 20 inches high for a male and 17 to 19 inches high for a female, with both weighing from 30 to 45 pounds. The average size for a Miniature Labradoodle is between 14 to 16 inches and 15 to 25 pounds. All of that said, there is a lot of variation in Labradoodle sizes. Some can be smaller or larger than expected. Labradoodle Personality The Labradoodle is an intelligent dog who can make the ideal family pet if properly trained. They are friendly and accept and treat everyone like their best friend. They can be gentle, but they can also be joyful, showing their happiness through exuberant jumping and playing. They also tend to be easygoing, since the Labradoodle was bred not to be aggressive. Temperament is affected by a number of factors, including heredity, training, and socialization. Puppies with nice temperaments are curious and playful, willing to approach people and be held by them. Meeting siblings, parents, or other relatives of the dog is also helpful for evaluating what a puppy will be like when they grow up. Socialization helps ensure that your Labradoodle puppy grows up to be a well-rounded dog. Enrolling them in a puppy kindergarten class is a great start. Inviting visitors over regularly, and taking them to busy parks, stores that allow dogs, and on leisurely strolls to meet neighbors will also help them polish their social skills. Here are a few conditions to watch out for: Ear Infections: These can plague Labradoodles because of their floppy ears. The ears trap moisture and should be regularly checked. X-ray screening is the most certain way to diagnose the problem. Either way, arthritis can develop as the dog ages. Dogs with hip dysplasia should not be bred. Elbow Dysplasia : Similar to hip dysplasia, this is also a degenerative disease. The disease varies in severity: the dog could simply develop arthritis, or they could become lame. Treatment includes surgery, weight management, medical management, and anti-inflammatory medication. It can cause mild or severe seizures that may show themselves as unusual behavior—such as running frantically as if being chased, staggering, or hiding—or even by falling down, limbs rigid, and losing consciousness. Seizures are frightening to watch, but the long-term prognosis for dogs with idiopathic epilepsy is generally very good. Allergies: Allergies are a common ailment in dogs, and the Labradoodle is no exception. Treatment varies according to the cause and may include dietary restrictions, medications, and environmental changes. Diabetes Mellitus: This is a disorder in which the body cannot regulate blood sugar levels. The dog will lose weight because food is not being used efficiently. Symptoms of diabetes are excessive urination and thirst, increased appetite, and weight loss. Diabetes can be controlled by diet and the administration of insulin. Progressive Retinal Atrophy PRA : This is a family of eye diseases that involves the gradual deterioration of the retina. Early in the disease, affected dogs become night-blind; they lose sight during the day as the disease progresses. Many affected dogs adapt well to their limited or lost vision, as long as their surroundings remain the same. Hypothyroidism : This is a disorder of the thyroid gland. It is treated with medication and diet. They require about 30 to 60 minutes of exercise per day and would do better with a fenced yard in which to expel some energy. Some Labradoodles, especially in the first generation, can require even more exercise. The Labradoodle makes an excellent jogging companion but also needs some time off-leash to burn off steam. The Labradoodle is an intelligent and eager-to-please dog. Training should be easy as long as consistency and positive reinforcement are the methods. Socialize them from puppyhood, since they tend to hurl themselves headlong into canine situations without regard to the feelings of other dogs. This can lead to some problems if the unknown dog is aggressive. Despite their activity levels, a Labradoodle can adjust to living in suburban or city environments and can do well in rural settings. A crate is also a place where they can retreat for a nap. Crate training at a young age will help your Labradoodle accept confinement if they ever needs to be boarded or hospitalized. Never stick your Labradoodle in a crate all day long, however. Labradoodle Feeding Recommended daily amount: 1 to 2. NOTE: How much your adult dog eats depends on their size, age, build, metabolism, and activity level. It almost goes without saying that a highly active dog will need more than a couch potato dog. Keep your Labradoodle in good shape by measuring their food and feeding them twice a day rather than leaving food out all the time. First, look down at them. You should be able to see a waist. Then place your hands on their back, thumbs along the spine, with the fingers spread downward. You should be able to feel but not see their ribs without having to press hard. For more on feeding your Labradoodle, see our guidelines for buying the right food , feeding your puppy , and feeding your adult dog. Labradoodle Coat Color And Grooming Although a Labradoodle can have one of a range of coat types, the desired length is four to six inches. They have a single coat with hair ranging from straight to loose curls. There are three types of texture: The Hair coat, which is similar to fur in shedding breeds, is the least popular. Hair coats shed and usually have a normal doggy odor. This coat is seen in first generations, although breeders try to avoid it. The Fleece coat has a silky texture often described as an Angora goat texture. This coat ranges from straight to wavy. Labradoodles are considered to be non- to low shedders, especially those with a Fleece or Wool coat. Hair coats tend to shed just as they do in other breeds, ranging from very low to average shedding. The Labradoodle comes in a wide variety of colors. They can also have parti-colored coats, which consist of brindles, phantom, patched, or sable colors. Grooming requirements vary depending on the length and type of coat the dog has. Generally speaking, you can expect to brush a Labradoodle about once or twice per week. Some can be clipped or trimmed every six to eight weeks to keep the coat easy to maintain. Like Labs, Labradoodles can be prone to ear infections, so take a little extra time caring for their ears. Dry and clean them after a swim, and check them once a week for dirt, redness, or a bad odor that can indicate an infection. Then wipe them out weekly with a cotton ball dampened with gentle, pH-balanced ear cleaner to prevent problems. Daily brushing is even better if you want to prevent gum disease and bad breath. Dog toenails have blood vessels in them, and if you cut too far you can cause bleeding—and your dog may not cooperate the next time they see the nail clippers come out. Handle their paws frequently—dogs are touchy about their feet—and look inside their mouth. As you groom, check for sores, rashes, or signs of infection such as redness, tenderness, or inflammation on the skin, in the nose, mouth, and eyes, and on the feet. Eyes should be clear, with no redness or discharge. Your careful weekly exam will help you spot potential health problems early. Labradoodle Children And Other Pets The Labradoodle does well with children and can be an affectionate and gentle companion for any child. They can also be exuberant and might knock down smaller children, but they will love them with all their heart. As with every breed, you should always teach children how to approach and touch dogs, and always supervise any interactions between dogs and young children to prevent any biting or ear or tail pulling on the part of either party. No dog, no matter how friendly, should ever be left unsupervised with a child. Labradoodles usually get along well with other dogs and pets. Like most dogs, they need training and socialization for optimum success at living with and visiting other animals. Labradoodle Rescue Groups Labradoodles are often brought home without any clear understanding of what goes into owning one. Many end up in the care of shelters or rescues because of this. It may be hard to find a breed-specific rescue for Labradoodles because they are a mixed breed. However, you may want to try Labrador Retriever or Poodle breed-specific rescues, as they often care for mixes, as well. Reputable breeders are committed to breeding healthy, well-socialized puppies that will make great companions. They will screen their breeding stock for health problems, socialize their puppies from a young age, and provide you with lifetime support. On the other hand, backyard breeders are more interested in making a profit than in producing healthy, well-adjusted dogs. They may not screen their breeding stock for health problems, and they may not socialize their puppies properly. As a result, puppies from backyard breeders are more likely to have both health and behavioral issues. More Info For You. Factors that Affect Labradoodle Litter Size A black and brown Labradoodle up close Labradoodles, like all dogs, can have litters of varying sizes. The size of the litter depends on several factors, including: Ready to Adopt Puppyspot Poodle Adoption 5. They have placed over , puppies into homes in the US! The size of the mother The age of the mother The health of the mother The quality of the breeding The size of the mother is one of the most significant factors that affect litter size. Generally, larger dogs have larger litters. However, this is not always the case, as some smaller dogs can have larger litters than larger dogs. The age of the mother is another factor that can affect litter size. Younger dogs tend to have smaller litters, while older dogs may have larger litters but also have a higher risk of complications during pregnancy and birth. The health of the mother is also a crucial factor in determining litter size. If the mother is not in good health, she may have a smaller litter or may not conceive at all. It is essential to ensure that the mother is up to date on all vaccinations and is free of any underlying health conditions that could affect her ability to conceive or carry a litter to term. Finally, the quality of the breeding can also affect litter size. If the breeding is done correctly, with healthy, genetically diverse parents, the litter is more likely to be larger and healthier. However, if the breeding is done poorly, the litter may be smaller and may have a higher risk of health problems. The fur is usually clipped to 2 inches or less, making brushing and upkeep between trims a snap. A red Labradoodle coat. Labradoodles are a hybrid breed that results from the crossbreeding of a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. As with any other breed, the size of the litter depends on various factors such as the size, age, and health of the mother, as well as the quality of care she receives during pregnancy. On average, a Labradoodle can have a litter size of 6 puppies. However, it is not uncommon for the litter size to range from 4 to 8 puppies. Factors such as genetics, age, and size of the parents can also influence the litter size. It is important to note that the litter size of a Labradoodle can also be affected by the breeding method used. For instance, artificial insemination may result in smaller litter sizes compared to natural breeding. It is therefore essential to consult with a reputable breeder who uses ethical breeding practices to ensure healthy and happy puppies. When it comes to caring for a pregnant Labradoodle, it is important to provide her with a balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate rest. Regular veterinary check-ups are also crucial to ensure the health of the mother and her puppies. Overall, the average litter size of a Labradoodle is around 6 puppies, but this can vary depending on various factors. By providing proper care and attention during pregnancy, breeders and pet owners can ensure healthy and happy puppies. Breeding Considerations for Labradoodles When it comes to breeding Labradoodles, there are several important considerations to keep in mind. Another important consideration is the timing of breeding. Breeding too early can increase the risk of complications and health issues for both the mother and the puppies. When Breeding Can Start for Labradoodles When it comes to how many puppies a Labradoodle can potentially have, the answer will depend on when it first starts breeding. Before beginning a breeding program, one should consider the age of the potential parents. According to the American Animal Hospital Association, dogs should be at least two years old before being bred for the first time and this is especially true for Labradoodles, due to their health considerations. At two years of age, most Labradoodles have reached full physical and emotional maturity and can safely endure the stress of pregnancies and caring for puppies while they are still young themselves. Additionally, waiting until two years of age allows Labradoodles ample time to mature mentally and physically which leads to healthier offspring down the line. You should also be aware that pet insurance is often more expensive for a Labradoodle puppy that has not been neutered or desexed. Conclusion Labradoodles are a popular breed of dog, and many people are curious about how many puppies they can have. Based on the research, it appears that the average litter size for a Labradoodle is between five and six puppies. Breeders should always prioritize the health and well-being of both the mother and the puppies, and should never breed a dog simply for the sake of producing more puppies. Overall, Labradoodles are a wonderful breed of dog that can make great pets for families and individuals alike. Similar Posts. Labradoodles can have varying litter sizes, typically 4 to 8 puppies. Labradoodle Labradoodle Litter Size Variability Like any other dog breed, Labradoodles can exhibit variability in litter sizes. The number of puppies a Labradoodle will have is influenced by various factors contributing to the breeding process. Parent Size: The size of the parent dogs plays a significant role in determining the litter size of Labradoodles. Generally, larger dogs tend to have larger litters, while smaller dogs may have smaller litters. Suppose a Labradoodle is bred between a Standard Poodle and a Labrador Retriever, typically medium to large-sized breeds. In that case, the litter size may be larger than when a Miniature Poodle is bred with a Labrador Retriever. Health and Fertility: The overall health and fertility of the parent dogs can influence the litter size. Healthy dogs with no reproductive issues are more likely to produce larger litters. Breeding dogs screened for any genetic disorders or health conditions can help ensure healthier offspring and potentially impact the litter size positively. Genetics : The genetics of the parent dogs are crucial in determining the litter size of Labradoodles. While genetics can be complex, certain genetic traits related to litter size can be inherited. If both parent dogs come from a lineage with larger litter sizes, it increases the likelihood of having a larger litter. Individual Characteristics: Each Labradoodle has unique genetic makeup and personal characteristics. This individuality can contribute to variations in litter sizes even when bred from the same parents. It is common to have different litter sizes among different litters from the same pair of Labradoodles. Occasionally, Labradoodles may have smaller or larger litters that deviate from the average range. Nature has its way of surprising us with the joy and unpredictability of puppy births. When considering breeding Labradoodles or welcoming a litter into your home, it is essential to consult with experienced and responsible breeders. They can guide on selecting healthy parent dogs, ensuring proper care and nutrition during pregnancy, and offering professional assistance during whelping to safeguard the well-being of both the mother and the puppies. Labradoodle Labradoodle Average Litter Size On average, Labradoodles tend to have litters ranging from 4 to 8 puppies. Some Labradoodles may have smaller litters, while others might surprise you with larger ones! Miniature Labradoodles typically have a smaller litter, ranging from 3 to 5 puppies, due to the smaller size of the parents. Labradoodle Standard Labradoodles Litter Size Standard Labradoodles, which result from breeding a Standard Poodle with a Labrador Retriever, tend to have larger litters than their miniature counterparts. These litters usually consist of 6 to 8 puppies, though occasionally, there may be even more! The litter sizes of multigenerational Labradoodles can vary, but they typically fall within the average range of 4 to 8 puppies. Understanding these factors can shed light on how they impact the litter size. Dogs with good overall health, free from any reproductive disorders or genetic abnormalities, are likelier to produce larger litters. Regular veterinary check-ups, genetic screening, and appropriate breeding practices can help ensure the health and fertility of the parent dogs. Breeding Practices: Responsible breeding practices can also influence litter size. Experienced breeders carefully select compatible pairs based on their health, temperament, and genetic traits. Breeding dogs with a history of producing healthy litter can increase the chances of larger litter sizes. Conversely, breeding dogs with a history of smaller litters may result in consistently smaller litters. A well-balanced diet rich in essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals helps support optimal fetal growth. Adequate nutrition can contribute to healthier and more robust puppies. Breeders and owners should work closely with veterinarians to ensure that the pregnant Labradoodle receives appropriate nutrition. Overall Care of the Mother: The care provided to the mother during pregnancy and whelping can also impact the litter size. A stress-free and comfortable environment, regular exercise, and sufficient rest are critical for the well-being of the pregnant Labradoodle. Adequate prenatal care, including regular veterinary check-ups, monitoring, and support during whelping, can promote a successful and healthy litter. Responsible breeders prioritize the health and well-being of their dogs and take the necessary steps to ensure a healthy and successful breeding program. They follow best practices, seek veterinary guidance, and provide appropriate care throughout the reproductive process. Labradoodle How to Care for a Pregnant Labradoodle Caring for a pregnant Labradoodle requires attention, diligence, and care to ensure the health and well-being of the mother and her growing puppies. Here are some essential tips to help you care for a pregnant Labradoodle: Veterinary Care: Schedule an appointment with a veterinarian experienced in reproductive health to confirm the pregnancy and establish a prenatal care plan. Proper Nutrition: Provide a well-balanced, high-quality diet for pregnant and nursing dogs. Consult with your veterinarian to determine the appropriate type of food and feeding schedule for your Labradoodle. Pregnant dogs have increased nutritional requirements, so ensure their diet includes essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Avoid overfeeding, as excessive weight gain can lead to complications during delivery. Exercise and Rest: Encourage moderate exercise to keep your pregnant Labradoodle fit and healthy. Regular walks and gentle activities help maintain muscle tone and prevent excessive weight gain. However, avoid strenuous exercise or actions that may put undue stress on the mother. Provide a comfortable and quiet space for resting, ensuring she gets enough rest and relaxation. Environmental Comfort: Create a quiet, comfortable, and secure space for your pregnant Labradoodle. Provide a cozy whelping box or nesting area where she can give birth and nurse her puppies. Ensure the area is warm, clean, and well-ventilated. Consider using soft bedding to provide comfort and insulation. Keep the environment free from hazards and potential stressors. Monitoring and Observation: Monitor your Labradoodle closely during pregnancy. Watch for any signs of distress, discomfort, or abnormal behavior. Keep an eye on her appetite, water intake, and weight gain. Note any changes in behavior, as these could indicate potential complications that require veterinary attention. Socialization and Mental Stimulation: Continue to provide socialization and mental stimulation for your pregnant Labradoodle. Engage in gentle play, interactive toys, and positive interactions with family members and pets. This helps maintain their well-being and reduces stress levels. Preparing for Whelping: Educate yourself about the whelping process and signs of labor. Prepare the whelping area with clean towels, blankets, and necessary supplies. Familiarize yourself with the signs of potential complications, such as prolonged labor or difficulties in birthing. Postnatal Care: After the birth of the puppies, continue to provide attentive care. Ensure the mother is nursing correctly and that the puppies are gaining weight. Monitor their health and consult with your veterinarian if any concerns arise. Each dog is unique, and circumstances may require additional care or adjustments. With proper care and attention, you can help ensure a healthy and successful pregnancy for your Labradoodle and the arrival of adorable, thriving puppies. Labradoodle Vet Assistance During Whelping Whelping, the process of giving birth to puppies, is crucial for the mother and her litter. Regular check-ups and professional assistance can help mitigate any potential complications. Labradoodle The Joy of Puppy Surprise One of the exciting aspects of welcoming Labradoodle puppies is the element of surprise! Each new arrival brings its unique personality and charm. Labradoodle Conclusion Labradoodles are charming and affectionate companions who bring wonder and surprise during their journey into this world. While the average litter size of Labradoodles ranges from 4 to 8 puppies, remember that individual litter can deviate from these numbers. The best way to embark on this heartwarming adventure is to seek guidance from reputable breeders who prioritize the health and well-being of both the parents and their precious offspring. From their friendly, playful personalities to their intelligent, eager-to-please natures, there are plenty of advantages to owning labradoodles. What Are Labradoodle Puppies? Not only was this new breed low-shedding and hypoallergenic, but it was also incredibly friendly and intelligent. Their sociable, affectionate natures make labradoodle puppies great for new owners and experienced pet parents alike. Most labradoodles require around 30 to 60 minutes of exercise a day, which can be easily fulfilled by walks or games. Intelligence: Thanks to their poodle parentage, labradoodle puppies are highly intelligent. Their natural curiosity and eagerness to please makes them fairly easy to train which is why labradoodles are common candidates for therapy dogs. Most mother dogs give birth to anywhere from one to 12 puppies at a time, with the average being just a few pups around five to six. It can be hard to single one puppy out — each one is adorable! Here are a few important factors you should look out for. Size Every new pet owner wants to go home with a healthy puppy. If a puppy is much smaller than its littermates, it may have a congenital or genetic issue that could affect its lifespan. On the flip side, if a puppy is the largest of the litter, it may be stealing food, which could mean it has trouble listening to commands. Personality The way a labradoodle puppy acts around its siblings and mother dog can be very indicative of its personality. When examining a litter, watch how the puppies interact with one another. A withdrawn, shy pup that keeps to itself may have aggression and biting issues in the future. An aggressive, independent pup that bullies other dogs may be reluctant to listen to commands. Meanwhile, a friendly, relaxed pup that gets along with its littermates will likely be easy to train. Playfulness The way a labradoodle puppy acts around its littermates can tell you a lot about its personality. But what about the way it acts around you? As you greet the puppies, observe how they behave. The puppies that rush forward and are interested in playing are more likely to be sociable and friendly. See if any puppies roll over on their backs — pets that exhibit this behavior tend to be more easygoing and trusting, which will come in handy while training. Gender For many prospective owners, the gender of their new puppy is probably inconsequential. However, if you already have a dog at home, gender may be an important factor to consider. According to many experts, male and female canines tend to get along better than two dogs of the same sex. Thus, if you have a female dog at home, you should consider getting a male pup and vice versa. Appearance Many prospective dog owners have a certain look in mind when searching for a new pet. For example, some people may want a puppy with a solid-colored coat, while others like multicolored pups. If you have any appearance preferences, look for a puppy that meets those expectations. Generally, you can expect labradoodle siblings to look pretty similar. However, there may be some slight differences — for example, one may have a traditional, golden curly coat, while another has a few spots of white. The only thing you can count on for sure is that all the labradoodles will share a distinguishable curly coat. Legs: Is your desired puppy walking and running normally? Any limping indicates a paw or leg injury. If this spot is larger than the size of a dime, the puppy may experience bone problems in the future. Stomach: Check to see if there are any protrusions or hernias around the belly area. Moreover, the puppy should not be scratching its eyes and ears excessively. Reputable breeders should answer your questions thoroughly and do everything they can to help you find your perfect match. Here are some good questions to ask. How Does the Puppy Behave in General? No puppy acts the same way throughout the entire day. The breeder will let you know if the puppy is a good match or if another puppy might be better for you. Before you take any puppies home, try to get some more specific information about them. For example, you could ask what activities a puppy enjoys. If you exercise frequently and want a labradoodle puppy that can keep up with your excursions, the breeder can direct you to an active puppy. On the flip side, if you prefer to stay in, the breeder can introduce you to a calmer, lower-energy puppy. For instance, if the breeder says a puppy likes spending time with people and learning new tricks, it suggests that the puppy will be more responsive to training. What Do the Parents Look Like? Generally, standard labradoodle puppies grow to be anywhere from 20 to 25 inches in height. You can get a better idea of what your new labradoodle puppy is going to look like by observing the parents. For example, if the parents seem too large, you might want to try another litter. In some cases, you may be able to meet the parents of your new labradoodle puppy in person. Are the Puppies Health-Tested? For example, ear discharge could indicate an infection, while a dull coat suggests skin allergies. Make sure the breeder health-tests all their labradoodles for common puppy diseases. As long as they get plenty of walks and exercise, they will be happy in most living arrangements.

german shepherd puppies jackson tn - I felt soo bad for him. He was constantly rubbing his face on my bed, the couch, rugs etc so itch his wrinkles. They were so red and full of bacteria. The first picture is right before I used the wipes for the first time. You can see how red and gross his wrinkles are!! Literally used two wipes on his face and it has dramatically gotten so much better. These are a must if you have a bulldog, pug, or any dog with wrinkles!! A dog bed with high walls and a sherpa fabric so your French bulldog can cuddle up in a cute little ball and snooze the day away. The bed has a waterproof bottom and is machine-washable, so any accidents are a breeze to clean up. I got the Jumbo size plenty big enough , and she alternates between snuggling into a ball and laying with her head propped up on the edge to keep tabs on the kids. The inside material is as soft as can be, and I kind of want to cuddle up in there. The good news is that the bed comes out of the wash as good as new! Anyway, I highly recommend it for your furry BFF. A slow feeder dog bowl to keep your fast-eating pup from gobbling down all their food in five seconds flat. The intricate design forces them to slow down, therefore preventing that unwanted bloating, gas, and vomiting that comes with fast eating. It definitely works! He has to take his time eating now, it keeps him occupied longer and it's nice and low profile for his short snout. I would highly recommend this bowl for short nosed breeds. He's less gassy and seems more satisfied with his meals. If you want to slow your eater, this is the bowl for you! This is a well-made product, sturdy, good weight, won't tip over and is dishwasher-safe! Or this slanted pet bowl that helps your dog reach all of their food. Frenchies have notoriously flat snouts, so by bringing their food a little closer to them, they won't have to work as hard to get every last piece of kibble. Could have maybe gone with XL bowl for water but large was perfect for his food. Keeps his face cleaner and seems to make it easier for him to reach in! Love these! Ordered a few replacement bowls to switch out after meals. Seem to be holding up well in dishwasher! A very fashionable bomber jacket so your dog will be the best-looking, coziest canine on the block. Due to their short coats, French bulldogs can get cold very easily in the winter, so this will keep them warm during your daily walks. Amazon, amazon. This is his favorite jacket to wear outside when it's cold. He will actually go to it for me to put it on him. Easy to put on with the zipper and the o ring is strong enough to attach a leash without the need for his harness. The quality of workmanship is great! I love the look of it as well, like a little bomber jacket. An adjustable dog harness if your Frenchie tends to pull and tug on their leash whenever you take them for a walk. This harness perfectly accommodates their stocky but short body and it won't ride up and choke them on walks. I came upon this one and another and ordered both. We returned the other harness and kept this one! I love that this step in harness is easy to put on a wiggly puppy, has a sturdy Velcro closure and the safety clips are above the padded Velcro for comfort. This keeps him nice and safe in his car seat and off of my lap when driving. We will definitely be purchasing this again as he grows. A tub of nose butter designed to moisturize and soften a French bulldog's cracked and irritated nose. Frenchies are prone to developing nasal hyperkeratosis aka dry nose , so you'll want to apply this all-natural formula on a regular basis to prevent that dreaded crustiness. We purchased this and within three or four days of using it we noticed the spikes went down and it was just dry at that point but the dryness goes down every day we look at it. A car seat to keep your dog safe and secure as you drive around. It's extra padded to keep them comfortable even through sharp turns or sudden stops. Dog loves it too!! I had a very hard time choosing the large or small because none of the reviews were specific on the size they bought for their dog at their dog's weight. I have a French bulldog puppy who weighs .It's perfect!!! Just looking at it out of the box I thought it was smaller than what I expected it to be so I was so happy I didn't get the small because I couldn't imagine him fitting in it. Once I put him in it I realized how spacious it was for him and cozy. At his full grown size he very much will still be cozy in it and I'm very pleased with this purchase. I couldn't picture a dog bigger than 12 pounds fitting into the small size now seeing the large. I would definitely recommend it. A hide-a-squirrel plush toy that your dog will become obsessed with as they search for the cute 'lil squirrels tucked inside the log. My French bulldog loves the squirrels and the tree! I keep putting the squirrel inside the tree and she keeps taking them out. This toy definitely keeps her entertained! Make sure you play with your dog and the squirrels first and then make your dog see how you put the squirrels back in the tree. A bag of Royal Canin dog food formulated to meet the nutritional needs of French bulldog puppies. It'll help develop good digestive health, make their skin healthy, and support their immune system during that critical first year. Amazon Promising review: "We started feeding this to our French bulldog puppy when she was around 6 months old. We were having the issue of her eating her other puppy food too fast and not being able to chew it so she threw up a lot. We switched to Royal Canin French Bulldog puppy because of the shape of the kibble. She loved it and now chews her food plus her coat is looking great and she no longer has dandruff. A few months after we switched her we rescued a French bulldog puppy who had been neglected. He did not have any muscle in his back legs and was severely underweight. We transitioned him to Royal Canin from the food he was on in between homes and he started looking amazing. His coat started shining and he started developing muscle like he should have had in the first place. And this dog food from Blue Buffalo that fits your French bulldog's nutritional needs as they get older. It's high-protein, made with real meat, and contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids to keep their coat healthy and shiny. Amazon Promising review: "First off, I'll give you a little background on my dog and tell you why I prefer this particular brand so much. I have a French bulldog who is almost 10 years old and he is a big fan of all food especially the human variety. The main issue I've always had with him and I know he isn't the only bulldog guilty of this, but he is a VERY gassy little dude. His stomach is so finicky that I've found no food that can completely conquer the gas problem. This particular brand is well known for being top notch and I'll tell you it's been by far the best dog food I've ever fed my guy. First off he loves it and always dances and jumps when he knows I'm filling his bowl. Secondly, and maybe no less important, it has really helped control his gassy reactions to most any food he eats. It's been a god send for me because this guy could clear out one level of my house on most any other food. Needless to say, I highly recommend Blue and this particular variety in particular for your pet. A dog raincoat because we all know that French bulldogs can be stubborn, so if they refuse to go outside when it's raining, throw this cute raincoat on them to keep them dry and happy. He loves wearing this raincoat. It has two straps, one under the belly and one across the chest. The hood fits over his head perfect, and the strap under him is in the perfect position so he can easily potty. A set of squeaky plush toys that come in cute woodland animal designs. It doesn't contain any stuffing, so if your Frenchie gets a bit rough with toys as they often do! As soon as I gave them to her, she carried them over to her toy box. Since getting them, they are all she wants to play with. Each of them has three squeakers throughout the toy and she actually looks for them to squeak them while playing. They look like they are made very well and should last as great toys for my dog. A hydrating lotion to apply all over your dog's body to keep their skin moisturized and their coat looking healthy and smelling great. Frenchies are prone to dry skin, so you'll want to keep this on hand in case they start itching. Amazon Promising review: "My French bulldog's coat can feel wiry especially in winter when she needs to wear a jacket and inside heating is dry. Daily brushing helped but not completely. A month ago I added this hydrating butter at the end of each brushing and the results are amazing. Her coat is silky soft, she hardly sheds anymore, and the butter is non-greasy. I simply put a dollop in my hands, dab it on her, and then massage it in. She's in heaven. Thank you for this great product! A lightweight dog water bottle with a built-in cap that acts as a water bowl on-the-go. You don't want your Frenchie getting dehydrated on long walks! He already knows when we go on walks he has his water bottle to keep him hydrated and going! A bottle of stain-and-odor eliminator that you should always have on hand in case your adorable, wrinkly four-legged friend leaves a not-so-adorable, smelly mess on the carpet. I'd drench the cushions in the latest product I'd bought, but then after they dried, when you sat on them, you'd smell dog urine again. So, of course, I've always been on the lookout for new odor-eliminating products, and man, I'm celebrating the day I found this stuff because it actually works! I didn't even have to soak the area that has been peed on. And there haven't been any more accidents!!! Chews 1. Sweet-natured and big fans of human affection, these puppies can suffer from separation anxiety if left on their own for too long. Before your Frenchie arrives home, it's a good idea to puppy proof your house to make sure your furry friend stays safe and comfortable. From puppy gates to preparing for toilet training, our downloadable guide tells you everything you need to know about bringing a puppy home. Find out more about Frenchie puppy accessories. As many French Bulldog owners will also tell you, Frenchies are some of the quickest eaters out there - which can result in issues like bloating, painful stomach cramps, burping and gas. With all of this in mind, purchasing the correct type of dog bowl is essential! As you research the best feeding bowls for Frenchies, consider shopping around for: Slanted dog bowls: As mentioned, these dogs have a flattened face and short neck structure, which can make it difficult for them to reach their food particularly as they get older. Slanted bowls are designed to help dogs access their food with ease. Slow feeding bowls: These bowls feature a raised obstruction in the middle of the bowl, preventing fast eaters from wolfing down their dinner too quickly. Elevated dog bowls: Providing your Frenchie with a raised bowl can benefit their digestion and prevent regurgitation and vomiting. There are lots of elevated dog bowls on the market, and a popular choice are bowls that get elevated when positioned on a four-legged wooden stand. Dog Collars for Frenchies French Bulldogs are a type of brachycephalic dog breed , which means that they are more prone to trachea damage and suffocation. Because of this, you should ensure that the dog collar you choose is suitable for their neck shape, and correctly fitted to prevent breathing problems from occurring. Flat buckle dog collars tend to be the most popular option for Frenchies. These dog collars feature a simple, comfortable design, with D Rings that allow for identification tags and lead attachments. French Bulldog harnesses are the safest way to ensure control on dog walks, while decreasing the risk of neck injuries from occurring. When it comes to choosing French Bulldog leads, remember that these dogs are smaller in build and closer to the ground, which means that short dog leads tend to be the best product for walkies. Always make sure that the lead you buy can be attached to the harness you use for walks. At Barc London, we offer harnesses for French Bulldogs with matching leads that are 1 - 1. Just like us humans, these dogs are affectionate creatures which enjoy cuddling in cosy spaces. The ideal shape of dog bed for French Bulldogs tends to be an enclosed style with higher walls. These beds provide an area for dogs to retreat and curl up in to get a good night's sleep. Older French Bulldogs in particular can suffer from problems with their joints and conditions like arthritis. Memory foam cushions can help to provide relief at night and promote healthy joints for better mobility. French Bulldogs enjoy the warmth and comfort blankets can provide. For these dogs, burrowing is a natural instinct, so a warm blanket is a French Bulldog accessory that will help them feel protected and comfortable in their nested environment. For the team at Barc, this was by far one of the most enjoyable aspects of crafting the Play collection, and it was important that each toy we created communicated the importance of playtime for dogs and their human owners. Remember that this breed of dog thrives on companionship. Playing with your French Bulldog is a great way to build a bond, and you can do so with games of fetch and rope toys for tug of war! Tried and tested by our founding Frenchie, our collection of designer dog toys offer the best products to enhance play. French Bulldog Clothes French Bulldogs have a unique body structure, with a small and compact build. Their muscular bodies and shorter legs can make it difficult to find suitable apparel - which is why you should always focus on comfort and fit when shopping for French Bulldog clothes. Dog coats: Frenchies are short-haired and more prone to feeling the cold compared to other breeds. This is true for most brachycephalic dogs, as their bodies tend to lose heat faster than able to be replaced. Knowing that these dogs struggle to regulate their body temperature, our Wear range offers dog coats that come in a padded gilet style. The lightweight material is breathable enough for these dogs to exercise comfortably, and warm enough to provide protection from the cold. French Bulldog Gifts Frenchies enjoy feeling the love, and showering them with dog gifts is a great way to display care and attention! Gifts for French Bulldog Lovers Anyone who has owned a French Bulldog before will be able to relate to the special bond these dogs form with their human partners. These affectionate pups were in fact bred to be companion dogs , and their friendly and good-natured disposition is unparalleled. Described as a 'must read for any dog parent', this book shares Archie's life, and gives deeper insights into the heart behind the Barc London brand. A Truly Beautiful Read What a beautiful and heartfelt story of a man and his dog, which in turn was also the inspiration to create Barc London. Wonderfully presented on a smooth papered book with stunning photos to accompany the story. These beautiful products are no longer just images on the website, but now part of a story with so much more meaning. The shape gives it a good irregular bounce too so he loves to chase it. He holds it in his paws and chews and chews the top which still shows no sign of teeth marks. Super stylish toy looks great and is fantastic quality. Only problem is my pup loves it too much and I'm almost deaf from the squeaking! So, read on and see if anything inspires you. Your best pal will definitely appreciate it! But you also need something convenient that is anti-tear and that you can throw in the washing machine when it gets dirty. Snout Soother Check Latest Price French Bulldogs are prone to developing something called nasal hyperkeratosis which is a fancy way of saying he can get a dry nose. Dog Crate Check Latest Price A dog crate offers your dog a safe space that is proven to reduce anxiety and stress. Crates allow dogs to get used to your home in their own time, in a safe environment that belongs to them. Cooling Mat Check Latest Price One way to protect your dog from heatstroke, dehydration, and exhaustion is a cooling mat. So, if your Frenchie tends to gobble his food, this is the bowl for him. They make eating easier for French Bulldogs , who have notoriously flat snouts. French Bulldogs are prone to dry skin, so this is the perfect solution to keep him from getting itchy and uncomfortable. It also has the added benefit of keeping his coat shiny and can be used on his paws to keep them hydrated and healthy. Comfortable Jacket Frenchies have short coats, so they can get cold easily, especially in the winter. Car Seat Check Latest Price A car seat will keep your dog comfortable and riding in style, but most importantly, it will also keep him safe. Opt for a car seat with seatbelt slits to keep your best friend as safe as possible on your journeys together. Wrinkle wipes will help keep him comfortable. Dog Toys Dog toys are a fantastic tool for bonding with your Frenchie. If you opt for a dog toy with no stuffing, there is also less mess and stress for you! Stain and Odor Eliminator A stain and odor eliminator tackles problems like urine, feces, and vomit for when your Frenchie has an accident. It is also completely safe to use around them, children, or any other pets you may have. French Bulldogs have squashed noses, so a ball with holes is perfect as it promotes airflow. A design like this also means you can use it as a treat ball, so he can be kept busy as he works out how to get the treats out. Dog Leash You want a reliable dog leash that runs smoothly, allowing your dog to run freely so he can burn off energy without being distracted by his leash. But the most important thing to your new addition is you. French Bulldogs are made for companionship, and he will need a lot of your time and attention while he gets used to his new home. So, we hope our list has helped give you some ideas. We believe a crate is essential for housebreaking a puppy. Please refer to our crate training section for tips on how to potty train and to find out what type of crate is better suited for your dog. Chews and toys.Well, no. Toys provide mental and physical stimulation, but some do not provide the need to chew. Puppies chew to relieve teething pain as well as because they are bored, and not unlike human babies they put everything in their mouths in order to discover new textures, tastes and fun! Please review our safe toy section to find which toys would be most appropriate for your puppy. Leash, collar and harness. As discussed above, we believe that your Frenchie should have a collar with an identification tag, but also a harness for walking. Puppies are rambunctious and can get away quickly. A nametag is the easiest and fastest way to get your dog back. You might want to microchip your dog. We recommend that you do microchip your puppy. Microchips are very tiny computer chips the size of a grain or rice. Each microchip has a registration number that will be registered to you and includes your contact information. If your dog gets stolen, it might be the only way to recover him. If that is not possible, just buy small blankets that can be washed easily and do not have fringe or any other decorations the puppy can chew. Food and treats. Most breeders will give you some of the food that your puppy has been eating. You can continue to feed what they recommend or shift to different food. If doing so, make sure you do the transition gradually in order to avoid causing diarrhea. Please look at our nutrition section for food and treat tips. What bowls are best? Plastic bowls can acquire small scratches through time, which will trap and hold bacteria regardless of cleaning. Ceramic bowls are very cute but can easily break, and you have to make sure they are dishwasher safe and are lead-free. For French Bulldogs, we recommend slanted, elevated stainless steel bowls. The swallowed air causes the dog discomfort as well as to become gassy. The slanted bowl lets the food slide easier and not accumulate on the sides. An elevated bowl allows the Frenchie to eat using a more natural body posture, thus making it easier to swallow. Stainless is easy to clean and very durable. Stain and odor remover.Regardless of how diligent you will be with potty training, there will be accidents. Make sure you clean mistake spots with a good urine odor remover. You might not be able to smell it, but the puppy will and might be inclined to go back to that spot. No-chew spray.Sometimes, no matter how much we supervise our puppies or how many toys we give them, they will chew on something that they are not supposed to. Commercial chew sprays are designed to taste bad, thus discouraging chewing. Grooming essentials.Purchase organic shampoos. Please read our grooming section for complete details. Dog bed.You can add blankets in the mean time so he feels cozy. Pee pads.Welcome to potty training! Pee pads are a controversial issue. Some people love them, and some hate them. It is all a matter of personal preference. I personally like them but try not to rely on them too much. You want your dog to eventually learn to go outside! PROS Convenient: you can place a pee pad anywhere. Weather friendly: during inclement weather, pee pads give you the indoor option. Cost efficient: pee pads are not very expensive. Convenient if you are not home and the puppy needs to potty. If you plan to travel, then the puppy has an easily accessible and recognizable potty area to go. CONS Anything can become a pee pad: Teaching a puppy to pee on a pad may also teach them to pee on similar items. You could be setting up your puppy for outdoor potty training failure. Some puppies might become confused because of being allowed to go potty indoors while trying to be trained to go outside. Plus your puppy can become dependent on their pee pads. Chewing and shredding: Some of our puppies have loved shredding their pads — clean or dirty! Sustainability: lets face it, puppies go through a lot of pads creating a lot of waste. Try looking for ecofriendly pads that are either biodegradable or made from recyclable materials. It can make you a lazy owner. You could eventually rely too much on the pads and not bother to take the puppy outside at all. Poop bags. Please be a conscientious owner, and pick up after your dog while on walks. Gates and playpens.Take a moment to look around your home and decide if you have areas in your home that you do not want the puppy to enter and will require a gate. Playpens are really handy when the puppy is very small and you want to provide a small play area when you cannot fully supervise. We always have a foldable one that we can set out at anytime. If you have never had puppy before, this is the time to start looking for a veterinarian, groomer, pet sitter, boarding place and even a trainer. Start by asking your friends. Most times veterinarians can refer you to other professionals. Heartbeat toys. These toys are some of our favorite things. This is a stuffed animal that has a real feel, pulsing heartbeat some come with a heat source too that helps calm a puppy when it is left alone. The toy can help reduce anxiety and the negative behaviors that come with it like chewing, barking, and whining. Home » Blog » What to buy before your French Bulldog puppy arrives What to buy before your French Bulldog puppy arrives The weeks before your little baby arrives are not only filled with excitement and imagining how life will be with them, but you also need to prepare your home for the new family member and buy some stuff. Every family is different with a different home, lifestyle, and needs but we list below some of the essentials and some of the extras. Somewhere to sleep — Frenchie bed Your beauty will need comfortable bedding, which can be a dog-bed or couch, a cushion or a crate. Subscribe to our weekly blog newsletter: Subscribe to our blog newsletter! First name Email As your Frenchie baby will grow fast, try to make sure you can buy adjustable items whenever you can. There are crates with dividers which you can gradually move as your pup grows. You can place a soft cushion in the crate, while cushions can also be used as a bed in themselves for a daytime nap for your furry child. You might want to opt for an orthopedic doggie bed, which helps your girl or buy have a great rest after an active day. Once you receive your baby you should continue this same food to prevent any dietary upset, but we recommend to gradually switch to another type of food within a couple of weeks. Our recommendations are Acana or Orijen, please read our article about the best food for a French Bulldog. What you can buy before your pup arrives, though, is a set of bowls: one for food and another one for water. As they grow you will need other toys to train him or her, see more details about this here. Check out our. In order to be prepared when I bring my Frenchie puppy home, what supplies do you suggest I get? We like dishes with large bottoms so they do not tip over easily. We love the stainless steel ones because they will last a life time and cannot be chewed up. We have used the turkey and sweet potato recipe and we are now using the salmon, sweet potato, and pea recipe. After this period of time, assuming all is going well, you can transition over to a high-quality puppy or all-life-stages chow from another respected company if you choose although we recommend that you stay with PawTree for the life of your pet. Of course, it should have the required vitamins and chelated minerals designated as proteinate , and other important nutrients. We have also known of a few Frenchies that were gluten intolerant. If things are still going well, switch over completely to the new brand. We also advise using a fantastic supplement we were introduced to by a breeder friend of ours called NuVet. You can order from the link we provide at a substantial discount from the retail price. We try to include a sample pack in the puppy packet we provide to you. Treats — You can purchase commercially prepared puppy treats from any number of outlets including PawTree from our website, but your puppy will also love small pieces of cheese, hot dog, chicken, or beef just as well as any purchased treats. These should be given in moderation as a reward for doing something well. Also, raw hide should never be given to your Frenchie as a chew toy. They can swallow a chunk of it which will swell in their stomachs and potentially cause serious health risks. An additional plus for the NuVet supplement tablets mentioned above is that your puppy will love them and think they are treats. We were made aware of a new specialty kennel from one of our clients, which we think you should consider, called the Potty Training Puppy Apartment PTPA. This is an improvement on the kennel concept we were using to potty train our pups. If you have the room, we recommend the large size, although the medium size will work if space is an issue. They will not want to soil their sleeping area, but if it is much bigger than necessary they might use the extra space as a bathroom. Pee pads — If you will be using the PTPA, as mentioned above, there are specialty pads made just for the kennel. Otherwise, we recommend the pee pads which can be purchased at Costco. You can find similar pads in pet stores. Toys — It is important to have plenty of chew toys and bones for your puppy. Make sure to stay away from chicken bones or any bones that could splinter or break off and get lodged in their throats. Avoid rawhide, unless it is compressed rawhide which means it is in very small compressed pieces that are digestible. We, and our Frenchies, love the Nylabones — they are made of very durable nylon that will last forever, and our dogs love to chew on them, which is very good for their teeth and gums. One of our favorite toys is braided rope made especially for dogs. Our dogs and puppies have a ball playing tug-a-war and keep-a-way with them. They are very inexpensive they can even be found in most dollar stores and they are extremely durable. The point is to have a nice selection of toys to keep them entertained and out of trouble. Make sure that their toys do not have little parts they could chew off that could get stuck in their throats. Dog shampoo — There are many good dog shampoos on the market and it is really just a matter of personal preference. They can be purchased at any pet store, Walmart, etc. Years ago, when we owned a Yorkie, our vet recommended using baby shampoo because Yorkies tend to frequently get goop around the eyes and the baby shampoo allowed us to clean the area around their eyes without irritating them. We still use baby shampoo with our Frenchies since they have lots of folds on their faces that require regular cleaning. If you do go with a dog shampoo choose a mild formulated shampoo for sensitive skin; your vet may have some good recommendations. In addition to having several good chew toys, which are great for their teeth, you should apply toothpaste to their teeth and gums on a weekly basis. You will notice that it said apply and not brush. Doggie toothpaste has those enzymes. Just put some paste on your finger or a brush and rub it on the teeth and gums. We highly recommend using the kind that has a flat blade on the end of the raking tool versus the kind that has prongs. What we find works best for us is to use a 5 gallon bucket with a lid that is lined with a durable trash bag. The lid keeps foul odors trapped inside. Until our dogs are potty trained, we use old, soft towels and blankets for their bedding, which are very easy to launder. Though it is not a necessity, our dogs love their over-sized pillows and they spend a lot of time sleeping and lounging around on them. We have one that we bought at Petsmart that is 25 inches tall made of durable plastic which is collapsible, fairly light, and easy to set up. If you have a small room in your house such as a laundry room that is puppy proof, you may not need one; however, puppy pens are very practical for many who want to control their precious Frenchie puppy, while at the same time give it some freedom. Because it is is transportable unlike a laundry room , we like to set it up in our main room not on carpet where they can see all that is going on around them and we can see them. We like to keep a soft blanket or towel at one end and their pee pad at the other. Doggie gate same concept as a baby gate — There may initially be areas in your house that you may not want your puppy having free access to roam until completely potty trained. Putting up a doggie gate s will allow your puppy to have a larger area to investigate without getting on carpeted areas or another area you want to make off limits. You can find cute accessories and outfits at pet stores, and there are lots of options on line. Some people do not feel comfortable clipping their dogs nails and will take them to a groomer or vet. However, if you want to save time and money it is a fairly simple task that takes only a few minutes. There are two types of of clippers: a guillotine or a scissor type. The guillotine is the easiest to use. The instructions that come with the clippers will guide you on how to use the instrument. Light claws are easier to cut than dark claws as the blood vessels and nerves that supply the toenail, called the quick, is easier to see. Cut the toenail to within approximately 2 mm of the quick. If you cut into the quick, the toenail will bleed and the dog will experience pain, nothing serious, but they might not sit too still the next time you undertake this task. When cutting dark toenails, it is better to cut just a little off at a time. Some people who have dogs with dark toenails cut them once every week or two so that they only have to trim off a little, avoiding any fear of cutting into the quick. Have More Questions? If so, there are a few things you could be doing to prepare yourself and your home for your new French bulldog puppy! Research the French bulldog breed Before bringing home your new Frenchie, you should have a pretty good understanding about the breed itself. As a leading French bulldog breeder in Indiana and surrounding states, our experienced team at Family Puppies understands the French bulldog breed like the back of our hands. This knowledge not only helps us raise our French bulldog puppies for sale, but allows us to ensure their new owners are well-educated and properly prepared to add a new Frenchie to their family. Talk to your breeder about what you can expect with your new French bulldog puppy and be sure to ask them as many questions as you need to: What food have you been feeding them? How much does a French bulldog shed? What essentials should you buy? Do they have any favorite toys? To sort it all out, we suggest making a puppy checklist of things to purchase before bringing your pup home! What to buy for a French bulldog puppy Remember, these are only the essentials to have set up and ready before introducing your pup to their forever home. Most importantly, they need a collar to display their ID tag and a harness to support their body when on walks. Puppy pads House training is a lengthy process with any puppy, so some handy puppy pads are a must. And with their short, single coats making hotter climates a struggle, regular brushing will actually better their circulation and oil production, improving the overall quality of their coat. Puppy-proofing your home For the safety of your new Frenchie and your belongings, we suggest doing a sweep of your home to locate any potential hazards that your puppy may face. This includes hiding away electrical cords, stowing away any valuable personal items for the time being , and putting anything that could be poisonous to your puppy houseplants, cleaning supplies, etc. Find a veterinarian Your breeder may have a few suggestions for vets that they have worked with that already know your puppy, but be sure to secure a vet before bringing your pup home. Make yourself available for your puppy One of the most important things you must do in order to prepare for a French bulldog puppy is freeing up your schedule. These dogs are made for companionship and will definitely need you during their first few days in a new environment without their mother or siblings. We suggest taking a few days off of work to start, and after that, try not to leave them alone for full days, especially with that tiny puppy bladder! Check out the French bulldog puppies for sale through Family Puppies in Indiana. These amazing Frenchies are brought up in a loving and warm environment and we look for the same in the people who purchase them. Give us a call today at to learn more!

When this sport was banned Pitbulls made their way to America and people started discovering how charming, loving and hard-working these dogs really are. The Pocket Bully will also inherit this quality which is what makes it an exceptional family dog. This breed loves being around their family and does anything to please them. Whether they get along with other pets and strangers will depend on their training from puppyhood. They are very suspicious of anyone they do not know, a trait they get from their Patterdale side, and will bark when something does not seem right to them. Some also inherit the high prey drive of the Patterdale hunting dog. If they do, you can expect them to be chasing everything that moves. All Pocket Pitbulls are highly energetic and agile, regardless of their prey drive. A Pocket Bully needs about an hour of exercise every day. Lots of patience will be needed for these puppies. Are Pocket Bully Dogs Aggressive? For years people have claimed that Pitbulls are aggressive. This belief comes from their bull baiting history. They will take care of you and your family no matter what because they have big hearts. Inside those tiny bodies there is a lot of affection and they will not shy away from showing you how much they love you. The Pocket Pitbull can inherit folds on their skin which if not properly cleaned could lead to skin fold dermatitis. American Bully dogs are also a brachycephalic breed, so the Pocket might also have troubles breathing, especially during exercise. The severity of their breathing difficulties will depend on how flattened their face is. You should take care not to over-exercise or let them play out in the heat for too long.
