Sadly, they are also prone to all the same medical conditions that can afflict golden retrievers in later life. Numerous different cancers are common among goldens. So are joint problems such as hip and elbow dysplasia, and hock osteochondrosis. This can severely limit the movement of goldens in their later years, which can make it challenging for them to get the exercise they need.
