They are magnificent dogs! I have been dealing with dogs, namely German Shepherds, throughout my life. I have been working part-time as a dog trainer and instructor for about 5 years, dealing mainly with German Shepherds. So I know a bit about these animals. Therefore, I decided to share my knowledge and experience about this fantastic breed. If you need help with advice and care tips or want to know more about German Shepherd dogs, welcome to this blog. A 3 month old German Shepherd puppy is still cute but not the tiny little fluff ball it was just a month or two earlier. Its already went through some major changes. Hide your socks and shoes because these little guys will be chewing anything they can get their little paws on. Here are some helpful tidbits on their behavior and changes along with some care tips to prepare you along the way! Overall Behavior: At 12 weeks old, German Shepherds have been through the neonatal stage, started the socialization period and are now officially juvenile dogs. This stage begins at 3 months old and lasts until they are 6 months old. This stage of development will test your patience the most. This is probably the most important time to address any behavioral issues with the proper training. While they will definitely look more grown up than the previous months, their puppy nature will still be in full force. They will likely be getting into trouble especially when it comes to biting and jumping on people. There are different methods for accomplishing this. You can use a clicker or praise them with a toy or treat when they abstain from biting. They will need to be consistently trained in obedience to avoid any future temperament issues. Physical Development: At month 3, they are growing fast and almost a foot tall. Males will be in the range of 9 to 11 inches tall. They have packed on some pounds at this point with males weighing in between 22 and 30 pounds. Females are a few pounds smaller weighing in the range of 17 to 26 pounds. Some big changes will be taking place at 12 weeks. Since they now have all of their puppy teeth, they will begin the teething stage. This will last for several months as their adult teeth replace their milk teeth. Another significant change will be their puppy coat. At this age, their puppy fuzz will start to fade as their adult hair starts to grow in. A racing stripe on the spine is a good indicator that their coat is changing. Your puppy will continue to grow until he is around 18 months old and usually reaches its full adult height by 12 months old. You can divide the food amount into several smaller feeds during the day. She said yes right away, and we started planning the details. We took these at sunrise, and the forecast threw us for a bit of a loop with last-minute rain. While I did my hair and got my makeup done, it was already drizzling outside. We decided to move ahead, however. As it turn out, we guessed correctly. A beautiful sky opened up for us, and the rain stopped just in time for photos. It ended up drizzling for just a couple of minutes, but we barely even noticed. It was simply perfect! Despite Atlas looking like a complete angel in these photos, he was not quite as calm while we were taking them! He was so excited to be there he could barely sit still. But Alicia is so talented she captured him at just the right moments! It was quite a good lesson for me too — even when a session feels a little chaotic, magic is being captured. I tell my clients this all the time. Being on the other side of the camera is a little different, though! Alicia was also fantastic and reassured us that even though we had a wiggly puppy on our hands, she still got amazing photos. When we got the gallery, we fell in love with all of them! Mammut Bull Description The wedge-shaped head is medium in length with a pronounced muzzle. It has a broad skull and pronounced cheek bones. The ears are set high. All ear types are allowed. The nose is black, brown or liver colored depending on the pigment. The oval eyes are dark. The muzzle is square, wide and deep with a strong appearance and adjusted flews. It has an undershot or scissors bite and is not faulted for broken teeth. The neck is muscular, slightly arched from the shoulder to the head, tapering and is free from loose skin at the throat. The chest is deep with closed ribs. The thighs are medium in size with well-developed muscles, joints with proper angulation about 30 degrees , and standing parallel. The joints are fairly steep but not overbuilt. The back is strong with a slightly sloping croup and a slight depression behind the withers. The tail is set low, reaching to the hocks, allowed in all forms, but a straight, intact tail without kinks is preferred.
