I have to say she is the sweetest, gentlest, best german shepherd we have ever owned. She is our 6th. We drove from Massachusetts to W. Virginia 12 hours to pick her out and bring her home. I would do the same again in a heartbeat. It overall was a very pleasant experience and Sandy knows her stuff. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to send me an email. Not everybody wants a working dog. If you just want a GSD for a pet then a place that breeds them "for" pets might be the place to go. And actually, a well bred working dog can and will make a decent pet if trained and exercised properly, you just need to be in shape to handle it. But, this particular breeder is putting herself out there as an "expert" in the breed while going against everything the breed is about! When you welcome a BT Walker into your family, expect to have a loyal dog by your side. They are very affectionate but also tend to be quite vocal so consider this before making your decision. Because of my prior experience and knowledge, my GSD turned out exactly as I thought he would — fairly sociable yet wildly protective of me. This was all right because I knew what to expect and I was able to train my dog properly to take the edge off of some of his more dominance behaviors. Targhee is very gentle and delicate with everything he does, he is well mannered, and minds very well to the commands he is given even in Latvian. Both dogs love to please, love to go on car rides, and get out and about in nature. Both of them do good off leash. Aleu has a medium prey drive, and Targhee has no prey drive at all. Both Aleu and Targhee are great around all sorts of people and animals. Both dogs love children! The puppies will be well socialized, and will be going through an early neurological stimulation program. These puppies will make some of the best dogs out there for anyone and we are looking for great, fun, forever homes for them. The puppies are planned to be UKC registered white shepherds, and we are just waiting for some paperwork to be processed on their end, as both Aleu and Targhee are registered with different kennel clubs.
