The premises were clean and the dogs and puppies looked happy. The puppies didn't shy away from him or us. He had all the medical information and other documentation organized and available for us. He showed he really cared about the puppies! Ours is now 6 month old, and she is a healthy, curious puppy with a mellow personality! He is thorough, knowledgeable, and most professional. We followed all his recommendations for transitioning our pup to its new home. This was the smoothest transition we've had by far; of pups we've had over the years. We can tell after just a few days our new pup is very intelligent. She's already learned basic commands and has high awareness of her surroundings. Myron was genuinely interested in who we were and why our family wanted a pup. This helped us collaboratively make the best match. If you click on his 'About' tab, everything mentioned is well aligned with the experience we had. From the clean and roomy kennels to Myron's prompt responses to questions, we're so glad we connected with him! I'll post an update on progress at 6 months. Myron was very responsive to any questions we had and gave us great information. Here are just a few: Labradors Love the Water You may have already known this fact, because Labs are pretty famous for loving the water. They also have wide, webbed feet to help them swim fast and waterproof coats that help them stay comfortable even in cold water. They were Bred as Hunting Dogs Initially, Labs were bred as duck retrievers, and then later as game-hunting companions. They tend to excel in retriever field trials and retriever hunting tests. Labs Come in Three Colors Labrador coats come in three colors — black, yellow, and chocolate. Labs can do Almost Anything Their intelligence, energy and affectionate nature makes them a popular choice for service and therapy dogs, as well as for search and rescue teams, and bomb and drug detection. Suffice to say, all Labradors are very good dogs who do very good jobs. This can be made up of long walks, training sessions, playing fetch or going to the dog park. Groom Your Lab Weekly - Labradors have short, smooth coats that are prone to shedding. Combing them weekly with a comb or bristle brush, or combing daily during shedding season, can help keep shedding under control. Make sure you have a good vacuum! Manage their Diet - As big, energetic dogs, Labs need to eat a lot — but they can be prone to putting on pounds, as well. Follow the recommended amounts on dog food packaging, or consult with your vet. Socialization with other dogs is important, so trips to the dog park, doggy play dates or group training classes at Dog Training Elite in Atlanta can be beneficial for both you and your dog. If your Lab has to be home without you for long stretches of time, be sure to have stimulating dog toys, puzzles and chew toys available for them, and consider hiring someone to check on and play with them during the day. This includes developing conditioned or automatic reflexes to commands. In its simplest form after proper conditioning , when the owner says "sit," the dog automatically sits without thinking about it. Our unique techniques ensure our program is a success no matter what behavior we encounter. Empowering Owners We empower Owners to train so their dog knows who to obey at all times. Personalized We deal with problem behaviors on a personal basis. Environment Specific We train wherever issues tend to arise i. Supportive We support Owners in the off-hours when training is "not in session". Involved We work with all members of the household. Satisfaction Ratings Our high client satisfaction rating sets us apart from competitors. We help your dog become a valued companion and beloved member of the family. There are so many breeds to choose from; how do you know which one is right for you and your family? Boxers are a medium-sized dog that were originally bred to be guard dogs. Nowadays though, they make ideal family pets as long as you can keep up with all that energy! Generally, boxers have three main colors; white, fawn or brindle. Brindle coloring is a combination of two colors that express themselves as a pattern in the fur. Usually one of the colors is beige or brown and the pattern can be long stripes along the back or shorter, more disturbed stripes. Brindle Boxers are one of the most popular coloring there are, however, the colors and patterns of brindle Boxers can vary dramatically. There is, however, a rarer reverse brindle coloring with a dark background and lighter markings. It is sometimes referred to as an inverted brindle boxer. Sealed Brindle Boxer Now this is the rarest coloring for a Boxer out of them all. They appear black because their black stripes are sealed shut so you can see hardly any fawn at all. Some people try to sell these Boxers as having a black coat but that is not true. It is impossible for Boxers to have a true black coat; those that appear black are actually brindle with very thick, close set black stripes. Flashy Brindle Boxer Boxers often have a white underbelly and white feet. Sometimes the markings go up the neck and onto the face too. This is known as flash. However, white Boxers are not. Brindle Boxers are not rare, they are one of the three standard coloring for the Boxer breed. Certain types of markings and coloring are more rare than others though, like the sealed brindle. Brindle Boxers are prone to certain health problems Like all purebred dogs, there are some health conditions that Boxers are more prone to. To help reduce the risk of your puppy developing these conditions you should always buy from an AKC compliant breeder. They have to adhere to much higher standards than most and will undergo the necessary tests of the parent dogs to help reduce the chances of medical issues in the future. AKC registered breeders will usually cost more than private breeders but they come with more peace of mind about the genetics and the treatment of the parent dogs. Also, there are some pet insurance companies that focus on providing the best insurance for a specific breed, meaning they can cater to the likely health problems of that breed of dog. Alternatively, you could look at the American Boxer Club website. They have a specific page all about breeder referrals. There are even some organizations that specifically re-home Boxers! Wherever you go looking, make sure you have a list of questions you want to ask the breeder about how the dogs have been cared for, tests they may have had etc. If you need a hand coming up with all the appropriate questions you should check out this resource. How do you know if a Boxer is the right dog breed for your lifestyle and situation? Well, there are some common characteristics that most Boxers share which can help you get an idea of what they might be like. What is a Boxer? You will recognize the Boxer by its tough, muscled exterior, wrinkled expression, and high energy antics. But, did you know that Boxers are sweet-tempered family dogs? They are protective and loyal and love to follow their owners everywhere. This affection pup will greet you with excited, slobbery kisses! Boxers are a medium to large purebred dog that comes from Germany. Boxers have smooth, short coats that are typically fawn, brindle, or white. Their faces often have a black mask with a few white markings. Boxers are energetic and need daily exercise, including fetch, games, and long walks. Boxer puppies take a few years to fully mature, so their puppy energy is endless for around three years. Remember to limit treats with Boxers and Boxer mixes, as this can cause obesity. Boxers are prone to health issues, including hip dysplasia, but oftentimes these health concerns are lessened with a crossbreed dog. Feeding your Boxer high-quality dog food, along with daily exercise, can help your pup reach a lifespan of years. Should a Boxer Mix take after their Boxer parent, they will be a playful, energetic, and friendly dog that loves their family and loves being active with them. Boxers are known for their energetic and exuberant personalities. They bond closely with their families, tend to have a cheerful disposition, and also tend to get along well with children, other dogs, and other pets. Although they are friendly dogs, they do have the instinct to protect their families. If the other parent breed has similar traits, then you should be able to expect a similar temperament in a Boxer Mix. Asking the breeder about the other parent breed in the mix is a good start. You can also meet the mother dog to get a feel for her temperament and to see what behavior she is modeling for her puppies. Although the breeder should be socializing puppies while they have them, it is up to you to continue training and socializing a puppy once you get them home. Boxers are moderately adaptable dogs. Because of their energy, they tend to do better in homes with yards where they can run. But, they can adapt to apartments as long as they get exercise and mental stimulation throughout the day. Although all dogs are sensitive to heat, the Boxer is even more so because of their short snout. And, because they bond so closely with their families, they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. The other parent breed could introduce some traits that could affect the adaptability of a Boxer Mix, so you do want to ask the breeder about them. Knowing more about the other parent breed will help you get a better idea of what range of potential characteristics to expect. Are mixed-breed dogs healthier than purebred dogs? A Boxer Mix can inherit any combination of the potential health issues common to one or both of their parent breeds. Or, they could inherit none of them. From the Boxer side, potential health conditions include degenerative myelopathy, thyroid deficiency, hip dysplasia, and heart conditions. Boxers also tend to have sensitive digestive systems, which often makes them gassy. As a brachycephalic dog, they will also snort and snore. Because they are a barrel-chested breed, they are also at a higher risk for bloat in dogs. This can become dangerous, especially if the stomach flips, so you want to make sure you reduce the risk when you can and know the symptoms so you can get help as soon as possible. Since reputable breeders screen their dogs to avoid passing issues on to puppies, they should be able to answer your questions. Despite their high energy, Boxers are highly trainable dogs that can be a good fit for owners of any experience level. Because they are intelligent, they pick up on things quickly and can get bored easily. But, they are eager to please their owners and tend to respond well to training. The other parent breed could make a Boxer Mix even easier to train or more difficult to train. You want to make sure you ask the breeder about the other parent breed so you know what range of trainability to expect. A Boxer Mix can end up with a coat similar to one of their parents or a coat that is a combination of both of them. Monthly nail trims are usually enough to keep nails from growing too long. Ears should be dry, clean, and free of debris or pests. Unfortunately, many dog owners overlook dental care, which is why gum disease is one of the most common health issues in dogs. The Boxer is a high-energy dog breed. Daily walks plus playtime and other activities should be enough for this dog. However, they will likely be up for more activity if you are. If the other parent breed is also a high-energy dog breed, then you can expect a Boxer Mix to also be a high-energy dog. However, this is a potential range, so you will still need to be prepared to deal with a Boxer Mix that is high-energy. A Boxer usually stands inches tall and weighs pounds. The other parent breed can affect this, especially if they are the mother, so you do want to ask about them. A Boxer generally lives for years. Although the other parent breed may affect this slightly, you can likely expect a similar life span in a Boxer Mix. Featured Boxer Mix Article.

Many different methods can help to keep your pet from biting you or others in your home. How to stop a Labradoodle from biting Biting behaviors in a Labradoodle are not limited to just puppies, unfortunately. Some dogs will develop this negative behavior later on in life. There could be numerous causes as to why your pet is suddenly biting you or others. As a responsible pet owner, it is your job to ensure that your Labradoodle behaves appropriately and has proper manners without biting. Why Is My Labradoodle Biting? A Red Miniature Labradoodle looks happy in the studio. One of the best ways to stop a Labradoodle from biting is to determine the underlying reason why they are biting you. Once you know the cause, you can use an appropriate solution to the problem. Puppies and dogs of all ages will bite for a few reasons, including: Puppies who are teething Your dog is scared or caught off-guard It is in pain Your dog is bored or has excess energy Resource-guarding It is stressed or over-stimulated Your dog wants your attention Puppies Who Are Teething Puppies lose their first set of teeth starting around the age of three months and up to eight months old. During this time, they can be uncomfortable and want to chew and bite anything near them. Alternatively, chewing and biting can help relieve the pressure that the new teeth have on the gums. How To Stop the Biting Provide your Labradoodle puppy with ample chew toys , and durable food chews whenever they try to bite you. You can also purchase specialty dog teething gels to relieve any discomfort they may be feeling from emerging teeth. Did you accidentally scare your sleeping dog to wake up? Sometimes dogs will bite when they are scared or caught off-guard when they do not expect you. This issue frequently happens with older dogs who begin to lose their hearing or sight and do not know someone is close to them. Sometimes this can be by walking around the front of your dog so they can see you before you pet them. If your pet has hearing or sight issues, be mindful of their space and make them visually or auditorily aware of you being close before you touch them. This pre-warning will ensure that you do not catch them off-guard. It Is In Pain Dogs cannot verbally tell us when they are in pain, so they act out in other ways, like biting. So one way to know if your Labradoodle is in pain is if you used to handle them normally, but now they bite you when you touch them. If your dog tries to bite your hand when you reach a specific area, such as a leg or a part of their back, they may be in pain. Can Labradoodles smile? Your vet can help you rule out any injuries or health problems that could be causing pain for your pet. If this breed does not get enough exercise or mental stimulation, they can act out by biting you or others in the home. Your pet may also run around more with the zoomies while biting at you or objects during this time. It may look cute and be harmless, playful biting when they are young, but it can develop into a more aggressive bite later as they mature. In addition, it can be challenging for your dog to determine a soft, playful bite from a hard one if you allow them to continue this behavior. How To Stop the Biting You can quickly minimize this harmful behavior by ensuring that your Labradoodle receives more physical or mental activity during the day. If you notice your dog beginning to run around and biting, take action immediately. For example, play fetch with your pet, take an extra walk, or provide your Labradoodle with mentally stimulating toys to curb the negative behavior. Two Labradoodles sniff eachother out at a dog park. Resource Guarding Does your Labradoodle bite you when you try to reach for his food dish or toys? Maybe your dog tries to bite you every time you want to sit near your partner on the couch. This biting is most likely due to resource guarding. Resource guarding can happen at any age, unfortunately, and is not only a puppy problem. This negative behavior should not be allowed to continue, as it can worsen over time. While it may start with toys, it can extend to food and even people if you do not address it. How To Stop the Biting Resource guarding can be a serious issue for many pet owners. You should not ignore these actions or try to handle them on your own. Instead, you will want to consult with a professional dog behaviorist for proper methods to correct this behavior as soon as possible. Or maybe you were cranky because you were having a busy day at the office and did not want to talk to anyone. Your dog can have similar days where they become stressed or over-stimulated. The difference is that your Labradoodle may actually bite to tell someone to back out of their space and leave them alone. If your Labradoodle indicates these or other signs that it is stressed or over-stimulated, try to alter the environment or put your animal in a safe place, like his crate. Your Dog Wants Your Attention Sometimes when a dog bites at your hands or feet, it is because they want your attention. For example, some Labradoodles will nip your hand then run away, enticing you to chase them and start an entertaining game. This behavior often happens with younger puppies since they will nip and bite at you to look at them and pet or play with them. Puppies are lower to the ground and may bite since that is the only way they can grab your attention. How To Stop the Biting If your Labradoodle is exhibiting playful biting behavior, you want to discourage it sooner than later. Any time they try to bite at your hands or feet, offer them a toy and get down to his level and spend some time with him playing on the floor. Often, sitting on the floor with your pet and having a game of tug for a few minutes will give them the attention they want while providing exercise at the same time. You Can Stop Your Labradoodle From Biting It is possible to successfully stop your Labradoodle from biting once you know the underlying reason for this behavior. Biting in any form should not be tolerated. If you allow it to continue, the problem can worsen since your pet will understand that it is okay to do it since there are no adverse outcomes from biting. There may be a straightforward solution to discourage future biting incidents, or you might have to seek help from a professional animal behaviorist. However, your Labradoodle can be a very social and happy pet without biting with consistency and proper methods. My wife and I love playing with our active miniature Labradoodle Max. We want all Oodle puppies to be healthy and happy, have lots of fun and be part of the family. Load More. The best way to do this would be to buy different types of chew toys, balls and so on. You can find it here. Besides buy different things for the Labradoodle, also make sure that you are activating your dog, and just as important, teach it to active itself! My Labradoodle Chews on the Walls Some grown dogs and puppies also have a tendency to bite on the walls or the wallpapers of your house. Besides the previous advice, I would also recommend trying out the Grannicks Spray Repellant. The spray should be used on those areas of the walls that your dog has a tendency to bite on. This is most commonly because the dog is very excited or perhaps frustrated, and they end up directing those emotions towards you as the leader and leash-holder. Sometimes the reason for this could also be that your Labradoodle is getting bored if you are training exercises where it is supposed to be on a leash. It could also be because of the mood of the dog handler that the dog will try and bite the leash. For example, if the handler is in any way insecure, tensed up, or just generally not feeling confident around the dog, the dog can usually sense this and will also start feeling insecure. If this is the issue and you are not able to find a solution yourself, try consulting a dog behavior expert and hear their advice in your specific case. The 5 Main Reasons a Labradoodle Bites 1. Territory and Property Protecting their property is a very common reason for why a Labradoodle will bite. Usually, this is mostly seen with guard dogs like Rottweilers and German shepherds who will bite to try and protect their property. But this behavior is also seen among every other breed of dog, including Labradoodles. This can be avoided by teaching your Labradoodle to wait until the food bowl is placed on the floor. While getting nearer to placing the bowl on the floor, try giving your Labradoodle a treat so that it will learn that there is nothing wrong with humans being near its food bowl. The dog should be allowed to have some time for itself once in a while. This could be the mailman, paperboy or perhaps the vet. Dogs can also bite out of fear if they are surprised, if for example, your child sneaks up on it to try and give it a scare, or if they are disturbed while they are sleeping. To avoid these fear-related bites, you should socialize your puppy as early as possible. This will allow it to get used to as many different situations as possible that includes new strange people, other animals, and new places. Hereby the risk of an anxiety disorder or other behavior issues is lowered a lot, and this can in turn also means that your dog is much less likely to attempt to bite. If your dog has any general form of anxiety, you should try and find a behavior expert, or perhaps try some Calming Treats. Pain Pain can cause even the kindest of dogs to bite. If your Labradoodle has hip dysplasia , inflammation of the middle ear , or any other painful health issues, this is also often the cause of a Labradoodle biting problem. Also, remember to tell your kids not to touch your dog in the areas that are the cause of the pain. If it feels like your Labradoodle is becoming more and more sensitive, and just generally seems more short-tempered, I would strongly advise you to contact your vet and have it examined. Hunting Instinct A Labradoodle is by nature a hunting dog, so there are still a lot of instincts in the dog regarding hunting. Be very observant of the dog and its movements while always avoiding eye contact. If the dog, on the other hand, knocks you over, you should curl yourself into a ball and protect your face, your hands, and your neck, as these are all areas a dog would usually aim for. And then just stay calm. This is also something you should teach your kids. Maternal Instinct Even the most well-behaved bitch might bite when they have puppies. You should be careful and respect the maternal instinct in a Labradoodle who has just become a mom. And to be especially calm and cautious if they are handling her puppies. Make sure that the mom and her puppies have a safe spot in your house where they can get their required peace and quiet. Warning Signs By knowing the most common reasons that cause biting problems, it is also much easier to avoid the biting from happening. Usually, before biting, a labradoodle will display one or several warning signs. These are also signs that the dog is ready to bite. Playing and exercising also has the benefits that they burn some of that energy that most Labradoodles have. A good idea is though to avoid aggressive games like wrestling or other games where dominance is a deciding factor. Make sure your dog is vaccinated. Allowing your dog to get too close to strangers, not even while under your supervision, if it has a tendency to bite. Overwhelm your Labradoodle while socializing it. And also a good old Dog Muzzle , which is generally great when training a dog. Hopefully, this has helped with your Labradoodle biting problem. If not, let me know, as perhaps I or somebody I know have had your exact problem, and we will try and help you with it. Dog Food: Every dog needs to eat correctly, and finding the best food for your dog can be challenging, as the market is absolutely flooded with products. Puppy kisses that lead to puppy nipping, however, are not. Your new puppy has a whole new world to explore! Unfortunately, many puppies try to test the waters of their new boundaries with their mouths. Why Puppies Nip There are a handful of reasons why your puppy might be mouthy. One of which is teething. Like babies, your puppy will go through a teething stage. They will want to chew and bite to reduce the pressure in their mouths. Puppies should always have an assortment of chew toys to keep them from chewing on you or your furniture. Another thing to keep in mind is that puppies use their mouths as their main mode of exploration. Unfortunately for us, sometimes that interesting object might be our hands. Finally, dogs play with their mouths. Watch the way two puppies interact. They will mouth or grab at one another with their teeth. So when your puppy wants to play with you, they resort to using their mouths to get your attention. You have to understand WHY your puppy begins to nip before you can understand HOW to prevent these undesired behaviors. Mimic Play Behavior If you observe dogs playing with one another, you will notice that when one dog yelps, the other tends to let go. If your puppies respects this cue and resorts to licking you or backs away from you, praise them! This is a positive change in behavior. If they continue to chew on you, however, it is time for puppy time out and a re-evaluation. Give Them A Distraction If your puppy is keen on chewing on fingers or toes, it could be because they are teething. When they go to chew on you, redirect their attention towards a chew toy or puppy-safe bone. The Kong toys are great for teething Labradoodles as they are durable and certain toys can have treats hidden inside for enrichment! Puppies who like to mouth or nip may need some supplemental activity to distract them. Games like fetch or tug-of-war are a really great way to allow the puppy to use their mouth in a positive manner. Things to Avoid Nipping is frustrating, but there are some things you want to avoid when training your puppy not to nip. Never yell at or hit your puppy when they do bite. This can make your puppy afraid and can lead to stress-induced aggressive behaviors later in life. Do not use your hands or fingers to work your puppy up for play time. Your children should not be the ones teaching your puppy anti-nipping behaviors without an adult in the room. Interactions between puppies and children should always be observed. Even older children need to be monitored to ensure that your puppy is being educated consistently and fairly. Nipping is a natural behavior, but luckily it is an easy one to curb. With proper instruction and a consistent learning environment, your puppy will learn the proper way to play and you will have a forever friend. Ready to add a four-legged addition to your family? Breed-Specific Behaviors Some dog breeds have been specifically bred to work at certain jobs. In the case of the Labradoodle, this breed was created to serve as a guide dog to the blind. But the parent dog breeds, the Labrador Retriever, standard Poodle and Cocker Spaniel for the Australian Labradoodle breed line only are true working gun dogs. The Labrador Retriever is a retriever gundog — a dog trained to grasp and hold downed small game prey in their mouths. The Poodle and Cocker Spaniel are also small bird gundogs. So Labradoodles get their instinctual desire to mouth, grasp, hold and bite things honestly. At some level, you will never completely train your Labradoodle out of this instinct. Learned Biting There is one more category of Labradoodle puppy biting many dog owners overlook and that is learned biting behaviors. While your Labradoodle puppy will have learned a little about tempering their biting from their mother and littermates, your dog will learn far more about that behavior from you. Sometimes dog owners inadvertently reinforce the very behaviors they want to get rid of. Your puppy loves attention from you more than anything and may bite again and again to keep you focused on them. Learning about and applying positive reinforcement puppy training methods is going to be your salvation here. We will explain in more detail in a moment. Find one method that works and use it consistently. Reward your puppy for any calm behavior. This can include calm play, or simply them sitting or laying next to you without biting. And, make sure to ignore biting. If your puppy starts to bite you during play, you can try to redirect their mouth to a toy. If the biting continues, make sure to ignore the behavior completely, and put your puppy in their pen to calm down. Under no circumstances should you ever reward biting! This includes with attention! Doing so can make your puppy more likely to bite during play — it will become a learned behavior, as we spoke about earlier. Should I Punish Puppy Biting? Studies have proven that punishment can have adverse effects on training and management of problematic behaviors. Punishing biting can stop your puppy from biting, but it can also create a level of fear, mistrust, and anxiety. And, as we know, dogs that are scared or nervous are more likely to bite. So, this method of training can also increase the risk of serious biting. Punishing your dog for growling or snarling which often happens during puppy play can also stop your puppy from growling as a warning when they are feeling threatened or scared. Not every dog owner will have the same degree of tolerance for Labradoodle puppy biting, even when it arises from teething pain or another normal cause. Dog trainers use a six-level bite scale to assess how urgent the biting situation may be. Level one is aggression with no biting. Level six is biting to fatality. Clearly there is a wide range of behaviors in between. What Causes Puppy Aggression? But, another common cause is guarding behaviors. Common resource guarding targets include toys , food, food bowls, people, and more. They will be able to help you work with your puppy to deal with the aggression. Your veterinarian will be able to put you in touch with a good behaviorist. Is Your Labradoodle Puppy Biting? Are you at your wits end with Labradoodle puppy biting? Related Articles. While it might be part of their exploration phase or a form of play, they may be doing it for other reasons. This kind of habit, if not nipped in the bud early on, can become a very frustrating behavior for you, your family, and any household guests. The best way to control their biting is to divert their attention away from biting you, with a toy. This teaches them the boundaries of what they can and cannot bite. You can also try simply getting up and walking away when this negative behavior starts. You can also try diverting their attention during episodes of biting with treats, harnessing this energy for a training opportunity. Work on simple tasks like Sit, Down, and even a trick like a Turn. This helps teach them to respond to you rather than their puppy urges. When still with their litter mates, puppies nip and bite as they play. So this behavior is rather ingrained in them. So, patience and commitment are extremely important through this process. Biting During Teething The teething process goes for several months from the time the baby teeth come in until the final adult teeth are in. Chewing and biting on things, even our fingers, brings them relief from the teething pain. Some hard, some soft, and some even made from fabric. You can teach your puppy bite inhibition. Techniques There are a few different ways to stop your puppy from nipping and biting. Keep on doing this until the puppy stops biting. As soon as the pup stops biting and nipping, praise him and give him a treat. Another way to stop the biting is to put the puppy down and walk away. Puppies love attention and they love playing. If playtime ends as soon as they begin biting, they will eventually get the point. One thing worth considering is that puppies always seem to be hungry. They might just like the taste of your fingers and toes. It can become excessive if it seems like all the puppy wants to do is bite and nip. This behavior must be corrected before the puppy becomes a big dog. Even the sound of their little growls has an appeal that makes us laugh. Prolonged and fierce growling. Aggression that comes for a specific situation. Let him know that playtime or attention time is over when he bites. As soon as he starts biting, give him the toy or chew. February 20, Labradoodles are one of the most popular crossbreeds on the planet. The answer is yes and no. All dogs bite when they are puppies, and Doodles are no exception. However, adult Labradoodles should not bite unless provoked. If they do, there could be a deeper issue at play. Table of Contents Types of biting Before we take a deeper look at biting and the breed, we should consider the different types of biting in dogs and what they mean. The four main types are puppy biting, play biting, defensive biting, and attack biting. Puppy biting All puppies bite when they are teething. Teething is a natural process that all infant mammals go through, in which their milk teeth fall out and their adult teeth grow in. During this process, their gums can feel very sore, and biting and chewing on things is the only way to relieve the pain, which is why your adorable pup may seem more like a crocodile at first! Particularly high-energy puppies may also nip you when they are excited. Play biting Play biting is a natural part of play for many dogs. Dogs play-bite with their human family members and with other dogs, and as long as your dog is well socialized, it is nothing to be afraid of. The only time when play biting may be an issue is with children, so parents must be sure to teach their kids how to play with their pets and to monitor play with small children. Play biting naturally decreases once Labradoodles calm down at around years of age. However, with the right training this behavior can be resolved much sooner than that. Defensive biting Defensive biting is exactly what it sounds like — biting out of self-defense, or in defense of somebody else, whether it be a person, another dog, or even their home. A dog that is feeling defensive may lower their head or widen their gait, fix their gaze, pin back or point their ears, and hide or point their tail, as well as tremble, whine, bark, or snarl. This type of biting is usually quick and fairly minimal, and in most US states, owners are not liable for resulting injuries when a dog bites out of self-defense or provocation. For example, to small children cornering their family pets or to the vets giving them their shots. Attack biting Attack biting is when a dog bites somebody, or another dog, seemingly without provocation. This is, of course, the worst kind of biting. No dog should ever bite without provocation, but it does sometimes happen. Attack biting also occurs in some breeds more than others, most often in dogs with a genetic history of guard work and dogfighting. The bitey-ness will wind down gradually and you can train them to stop biting you and chewing your home to pieces in the meantime. Puppies usually learn how hard to bite each other when they play with their siblings in their first few weeks of life. You can teach your puppy not to bite others by yelping like a puppy whenever they bite you and ending your interaction immediately. This way, they learn that biting causes the fun and affection to stop. It may take them a while for them to understand, as puppy empathy can take several months to develop, but you should start doing it as early as possible. If you stay patient and remain consistent, they will learn! Additionally, you should reward them a lot for appropriate interactions. Use training treats to show your Labradoodle puppy that sitting politely pays off way more than nipping! As for chewing, you will never stop your dog from chewing as it is natural, normal, and good for them! There are even chew toys that are designed specifically for teething pups, with rubber teeth that massage and soothe their gums. Frozen carrots are also great treats for teething pups, as the cold will relieve their gums. Or, you could try filling a pup-sized Kong toy with something tasty and freezing it overnight for another yummy, soothing treat. Do adult Labradoodles bite? Labradoodles are known for being a friendly breed, this is part of what makes them such a popular choice for dog owners around the world. Can Labradoodles be dangerous? It is not recorded how many dog bites are caused by Labradoodles every year, or how many violent dog fights involve Doodles. However, this is a good thing. How to approach a nervous Doodle? If you come across a nervous Labradoodle, you should remain at a distance, stay calm, and try to make yourself appear smaller by crouching down to their level. Offer a treat or toy if you have one, and if they come to you and let you pet them, keep your hand where they can see it until they are comfortable with you. If they react aggressively at any point, just calmly back away. Can anxiety make Labradoodles bite? Extreme anxiety can cause Labradoodles to bite. According to the Merck Veterinary Manual , canine anxiety is most commonly caused by fears, separation, and old age. Fear-based anxiety is the type that is most likely to cause unprovoked biting, as it can cause dogs to become jumpy, making them snap out of panic, rather than aggression. Common fears amongst dogs include loud noises and cars, and they are usually born out of bad past experiences. An anxious dog may engage in repetitive behaviors such as pacing and lip licking. Triggers can be treated with positive association training and anti-anxiety aids like supplements, diffusers, and thunder vests. Some dogs also have an intense dislike of being groomed and bathed. If your Labradoodle is biting e. Can boredom make Labradoodles bite? Extreme boredom can make dogs bite. It can also make them engage in destructive behaviors such as ripping up furniture and going to the toilet indoors. If a dog is not receiving enough physical or mental stimulation, their pent-up energy and frustration can result in aggression, often towards other dogs, but sometimes towards people, too. Labradoodles have the social nature of the Labrador with the intelligence of the Poodle, so they need a lot of love, interaction, and mental stimulation. To prevent and tackle boredom, make sure your Doodle is getting two hours of exercise a day, preferably split into two walks, as well as lots of play and companionship. Vary their walk location to keep it interesting and switch it up with some running, games of fetch, and swimming from time to time if possible. Play some fun, challenging games like hide and seek at home, teach them new things to engage their brains, and invest in some stimulating toys like puzzles and treat dispensers. Can illness make Labradoodles bite? These illnesses can include sight or hearing loss, canine cognitive dysfunction, brain tumors, hypothyroidism, psychomotor epilepsy, hyperkinesis, and neoplasia. Painful injuries can also cause dogs to snap should somebody touch the area, but this is not done out of malice. Because Labradoodles are not AKC-registered , there are no guidelines for health testing in this breed. Sadly, some breeders do not make sure that the parents are free of hereditary diseases. Some puppies are born predisposed to develop illnesses later on — some of which can make them aggressive, too. If your dog bites unnecessarily and it is completely out of character, especially if they are older or you notice any other physical or behavioral changes, you should take them to see their vet for an examination right away. What if my Labradoodle bites someone? If your Doodle bites someone that is posing a threat to you, your dog, or somebody else, you should get away from them immediately and inform the police if necessary. In most US states, owners are not liable for resulting injuries when a dog bites out of self-defense or provocation. If the bite was unprovoked, you should separate the person from your dog and make sure that they get the medical help they need. As for your dog, you should inform your vet of what has happened. Legal repercussions and enforced euthanasia for biting are possible in extreme situations. Our website cannot provide legal advice on bite cases. What if my Labradoodle bites another dog? If your Doodle gets into a fight with another dog, you should separate the two dogs immediately. If your dog hurts the other dog significantly, you should offer to pay for their veterinary treatment, unless their dog was very clearly the aggressor and your dog was defending themselves. Owners of dogs that get attacked by other dogs are legally within their rights to report you to the police if they feel that your dog is dangerous. Legal repercussions and enforced euthanasia are rare, but if your dog is a danger to other dogs, you should take precautions to prevent them from attacking another dog in the future, such as training, keeping them on the leash, and muzzle wearing. The bottom line Although any dog can bite if provoked, Labradoodles, in general, are not aggressive or dangerous dogs. In fact, they are known to be a perfect family dog that is great with children and other pets. However, you should still make sure that you fully train and socialize your dog to ensure good behavior. Tiffany Adopter As a pug mom needing to rehome my pugs, I was devastated. Life had given me some difficult and life changing circumstances. I had no other options. I could no longer provide the life my pugs babies needed and no longer have them in my home. As a strong pug lover, I needed to know my 2 elderly pugs would receive the care and medical treatment they needed. They needed to go to someone who knew pugs and could guarantee they'd be provided for. Surrender Owner Many conversations happened and I knew these were people who loved pugs as much as I did. Coming to the fur, mostly the Vizsla Poodle Mixes have curly, frizzed, kinky hair. Apart from that, the undercoat is also absent, which makes the process even simpler. On the other hand, Poodles have curly, kinky hair, the length of the strands being short to medium. However, the Vizsla Poodle Mix inherits the sleek coat from the Vizsla parent in most cases, making them light shedders. But you might have to groom, clip their hair once a month to keep the coat short and even. If you are fortunate enough to have an extremely short-haired Vizslapoo, you can skip the clipping too. Just brushing would be fine. Size Anything or any trait of the mix breed depends on the breeds that were crossed together. Vizslas are medium size dog breeds. The Poodles, on the other hand, are medium to large-sized breeds. Further, it also depends on the health and physique of the parents. So, if there are any unusual cases, you may notice changes. In the end, it is all parents. Color Vizslas are bred in three primary colors, namely, golden, golden-rust, red-golden. Also, Vizslas always have a reddish nose. If it is pink, orange, black, or some other color, it is not a Vizsla. Poodles, on the other hand, are bred in numerous colors. Some are black, white, apricot, cream, grey, sable, silver, brown, and red. With such an array of options, it is almost impossible to figure out what color the hybrid might be. The color of your Vizsla Poodle mix depends on what color the parents are. Some of the most common colors are brown, golden-rust, red, tan. Furthermore, if the parents are dual-colored or have multiple shades, the hybrid could inherit the same. Vizslapoo Temperament Just like the puppies inherit the character traits from their parents, they inherit the temperament too. For example, since both breeds are intelligent dogs, you can rest assured because the hybrid will definitely be smart. In this segment, we will first learn their individual temperament. Vizsla: Intelligent, affectionate, energetic, loyal, gentle Poodle: Intelligent, active, faithful, trainable, instinctual, alert Vizsla Poodle Mix: Intelligent, trainable, energetic, playful, adaptable, affectionate Since both the parents are intelligent, Vizslapoos are generally quite smart, making them much more trainable than other breeds. Furthermore, they are extremely active and energetic. So, you might have to commit to an extended playtime. Vizsla Poodle mixes are the best for families because they are adorable with children and are obedient. Obedience matters because you would not want your extra energetic canine to be chewing up the couch or tearing apart the rug, right? They may be playful but never disobedient. However, never force them to sit inside just because they are obedient. Give them that toy duck, and let them enjoy it! The Vizslapoos hate being alone, so mind that. Do not leave them alone at the house; this would upset them. It is fair to say that you are getting yourself a swimming bud! And lastly, it is very much possible that your Vizslapoo inherits a couple of annoying habits from its Poodle parent, like barking and making irritating noises to get your attention. If your furry friend is doing this, give them the deserved attention already! Also, owners should be extra careful regarding the health of mixed breeds because they come with health issues of both breeds. Here is a list of the possible issues that your Vizsla Poodle mix might have- Epilepsy. It is considered a relatively rare mix since it is not well known in the world. However, the result is an extraordinary canine with characteristics that allow it to stand out not only as an excellent pet but also to perform any activity. As we have mentioned previously, there are 4 varieties of poodles, which are: Standard Poodle. Dwarf Poodle. Toy Poodle. Any of these varieties can be mixed with a Vizsla , although many people believe that it is not possible. That is, if we cross a Dwarf Poodle with a Vizsla, we will have a small Vizslapoo. The same will happen with the other varieties. Vizslapoo: Physical Characteristics We have previously mentioned that Vizslas can be mixed with any variety of Poodles, so that will define the size of the Vizslapoo. Therefore, the size of this canine can vary between 24 cm and 60 cm approximately. The coat of a Vizslapoo will depend on the dominant genetic qualities of the parents. That means that some dogs of this breed can have a dense coat while others have a slightly smoother one. Importantly, the Vizslapoo can have curly and kinky fur more often. The predominant color that this breed can present is gold-oxide, although it can also be a little lighter when mixed with white. These dogs have a light, slim and muscular body with a wide skull and a well-proportioned neck with respect to the rest of their body. A Vizslapoo has high intelligence, which allows anyone to train them easily. This breed is characterized by being active, energetic, playful, obedient and affectionate, making it an excellent pet for families. They love to have fun doing any physical activity playing, running, jumping, walking, etc. The Vizslapoo is an animal that can present the personality of a Vizsla or that of a Poodle. Some of them may be sensitive as they may feel sad and anxious if left alone for a long time, while others need to receive attention and feel important within the family group. These characteristics will depend on the dominant qualities of the parents. They love to swim, walk, run, and play with their loved ones, especially children. Like a Poodle, the Vizslapoo can develop bad habits such as barking or making any other annoying sounds. The reason for this is because these canines do not feel that their owners pay enough attention to them. Also, if the predominant personality of a Vizslapoo is that of a Poodle, then it may be difficult for it to get along with other people. Vizslapoo: Care Vizslas do not require as much attention, but if it is a Vizslapoo, then the situation changes. This mixed breed of dog tends to have a curly coat, which can become tangled easily. That is why it is advisable to brush it more than 3 times a week since they are canines that do a lot of exercises, so it is more common for their fur to get tangled. A dog groomer can be a good option in these cases. Most dogs smell bad after a certain amount of time. That is not the case with a Vizslapoo. This breed of dog maintains this characteristic of the Vizslas, so it should only be bathed when necessary. This dog needs to be stimulated mentally and physically, so it is essential to establish a daily exercise routine. However, if the result was a medium or large Vizslapoo, it should live in open spaces such as a field or a house with a spacious backyard. Family Dog Expert Author Hi there! My passion for dogs drives me to share my knowledge and expertise, helping families build strong, loving bonds with their four-legged friends. Welcome to Sirdoggie A blog crafted with love for all dog lovers and their families! They require lots of love, attention, playtime, training, and socialization. Vizsladoodles are rare hybrids that you will usually find from a breeder. It is also not impossible to find them from a rescue shelter, but either way, it is important to do your research and find a reputable place to adopt or buy your Vizsladoodle puppy. It is also important to remember that over and above the cost of the puppy is the addition of the initial vet visit and inoculations, beds, food bowls, and toys. Once the initial setup costs are taken care of, you must factor in monthly costs such as food and pet insurance. It may seem overwhelming at first, but the years of unconditional love and companionship make it worth it. It carries all the great traits from its parents and makes a remarkable companion for families of all sizes and singles. Because its parents are incredibly intelligent, the Vizsladoodle does not take long to potty-train and is relatively easy to train. Are These Dogs Good for Families? But like any family with kids adopting a new pet, the children need to be taught how to behave with and handle puppies and dogs. They love long walks in the park, playing fetch, and any activity involving being with their humans. They have a great adoration for their family members, and they are eager to please. Vizsladoodles will generally get along with other pets as long as they are well-socialized and trained from a young age. Because the dog is full of energy and playful, it may be a little overbearing for a cat, but that is something that most cats can handle as they usually stay out of the way. However, they generally get along with other dogs and can become good friends. Your Vizsladoodle will require a high-quality, complete diet that is age appropriate. Commercially processed canned or kibble foods are convenient, consistent, easily accessible, and affordable, and they go through a quality control process. You can feed your dog twice daily as an adult, but puppies require at least three meals daily to assist their development. Your Vizsladoodle will also benefit from puzzle feeders since it is intelligent and requires appropriate mental stimulation. A post shared by Vizsladoodle-Hummels hummels. This can be broken up into two daily sessions of 30 minutes, depending on the age and stage of growth. The dog loves to walk, run, and play, and if it is anything like its Poodle parent, it may love to swim! They will thrive with an active family that will provide plenty of physical and mental stimulation. A Vizsladoodle that is not adequately exercised may get bored and direct its pent-up energy into destructive activities, such as chewing your shoes or digging up your garden! They are devoted, eager to please their humans, and easy to train. Early socialization and training are highly recommended to get your pup off to a good start. They excel at obedience training and thrive from lots of mental stimulation. Positive reinforcement will help greatly for successful training, so lots of praise and treats are the name of the game. Regardless of whether they inherit a coat that is more Poodle-like or Vizsla-like, you will only need to brush them a few times per week to keep shedding to a minimum. If your Vizsladoodle has a coat more like its Poodle parent, it may require a haircut every 6 to 8 months to keep it neat and prevent matting. Their teeth will also require at least a weekly brushing, and their nails and ears should be checked regularly. A post shared by hilde. They are generally healthy, but like all canines, they may be prone to specific health conditions. Finding a reputable breeder will also help reduce the chance of developing any major health issues since reputable breeders perform genetic testing to ensure their stock is healthy. Minor Conditions. Origins Of The Vizsla Poodle Mix There is no documented history of the vizsla poodle mix as an intentional hybrid breed. However the origins of deliberately bred poodle mix dogs like the labradoodle is more well known and was initially driven by the need to produce a service dog for a vision impaired woman with allergies in the s. So with high demand for non-shedding dogs, it is no surprise the vizsladoodle exists today. And while not particularly common, the crossbreed offers a unique combination of a more hypoallergenic and medium sized dog for active dog lovers. Vizslas have a long documented history in Europe. But they faced extinction in the early 20th century due to war, occupation and the subsequent disruption to breeding programs in modern day Hungary. Originally bred as a water dog to retrieve waterfowl, they are now one of the most popular dog breeds but rarely used for hunting. Poodles were recognised by the AKC in and are part of the non-sporting category. There are three official poodle sizes — Standard, Miniature and Toy poodles. Based on their parentage they are likely to be an elegant, medium to large sized dog ranging in size from 15 to 24 inches high. They will have large floppy ears, a long tail, and a lean and muscular frame. In terms of color there will be a range of possibilities. Vizslas come in just one solid color, golden rust. But poodles come in a wide range of solid colors from cream all the way through to black. Their coat will vary from curly to wavy. But it is likely you will need to groom your vizsladoodle more than you would a purebred vizsla as vizslas have such short easy to maintain coats. The best way to know the likely size and color of your vizslapoo is to see the parents as your pup will inherit a combination of their appearance traits. Both are both renowned as friendly, playful and affectionate dogs so there is a good chance your vizsladoodle will have all of these characteristics. Poodles and vizslas are also intelligent, eager to please and highly trainable so training your vizslapoo and teaching them tricks should be pretty easy. In terms of risks relating to temperament, both breeds dislike being left alone and are prone to separation anxiety. As a result your poodle cross vizsla will need plenty of attention and cuddles from you. Both these breeds need plenty of mental stimulation and can be prone to boredom so you will need to keep your mixed breed dog busy when you are out. In terms of what is different and therefore less predictable, the vizsla temperament is renowned as very emotionally needy and sensitive than the poodle. And while poodles can also experience separation anxiety, they are on the whole more independent dogs than vizslas. So the degree of clinginess will vary depending on the genetic makeup of each mixed dog. With any mixed breed dog, proactive socialization and training from an early age will help combat any negative traits. The Vizsladoodle is an incredibly friendly dog and is brimming with affection for the people that this pup loves. This pup varies in size since the Vizsla can mate with either the Toy, Miniature, or Standard Poodle, which means it comes in a variety of loveable sizes. They are highly intelligent thanks to their Poodle genes and loyal as ever, thanks to the DNA from the Vizsla parent. Mixed pups usually do not get the same level of fanfare and attention as their purebred counterparts, which results in key details being skimmed over. Chances are the Vizsladoodle originated in the United States some time, either during or after the s, since that is when Doodle popularity skyrocketed. No breeder has come forward with the claim of having crossed the Vizsla and the Poodle together for the first time, and chances are this breed existed in nature through accidental mating long before any intentional efforts to bring the two dogs together began. Personality and Temperament This is an incredibly friendly pup! The Vizsladoodle loves to be around the humans that it loves and is social enough to get along well with pretty much anyone. With a bit of early socialization, these pups make great additions to families with kids due to their gentle and calm nature. They thrive in households where they get a fair bit of attention. Loyal to the core and incredibly loving, this pup makes for a wonderful pet. To get a good idea of the kind of personality your Vizsladoodle will grow up to have, it is best to spend time around the Poodle or the Vizsla parents. Their personalities are usually fairly good indicators of the kind of temperament your puppy will grow up to have. Vizsladoodle Size It is difficult to say exactly how big the Vizsladoodle will get since their size is highly reliant on the Poodle parent. The size will vary depending on whether the Vizsla has mated with a Toy, Miniature, or Standard Poodle. The lack of standards when it comes to sizes means there is quite a bit of variation from one pup to the next. Vizsladoodle Health On average, the Vizsladoodle is a hardy and healthy pooch. This is mainly because the gene pool is relatively larger when it comes to mixed breeding, resulting in hybrid vigor. The hybrid dogs are often healthier than their parents, but it is always a good idea to check the health clearances of the parent dogs when getting your puppy from a breeder. A healthy parent is a good guarantee for a healthy puppy. Take care not to buy from breeders that mate dogs that are younger than 2 years of age, since that is when most genetic illnesses rear their ugly heads. Schedule regular veterinary checkups to ensure that your Vizsladoodle is growing up healthy and so that any issues are caught early in and nipped in the bud. Vizsladoodle Care and Training The Vizsladoodle is a pretty active dog and one that will need a fair bit of daily exercise. If you are someone that likes to spend their days lazing around on the couch and would like a pup that does the same, the Vizsladoodle may not be the right pup for you. These dogs love the great outdoors and make great companions on hikes or long walks. If they do not release all of their pent-up energy through exercise, these dogs may become destructive. They are also very intelligent, so it is important to keep them mentally stimulated. When it comes to training, these pups may prove to be a bit stubborn. It is best to steer clear of free-feeding since that may cause overeating. Coat Color, Types, Shedding These pups have coats that are generally low-shedding, making them good dogs for allergy sufferers. Vizsladoodle Grooming These are rather low-maintenance dogs. The Vizsladoodle requires no more than a few brushing sessions a week to ensure its coat stays healthy and tangle-free. Vizsladoodle Breeders. Learn more. There are more than 60 poodle mixes out there. Some are popular and others uncommon. The Vizsla Poodle mix is still somewhat in the shadows. It is a rare breed but one with great companionship potential. The Vizsla is a cute medium-sized with roots in Hungary. This smooth-haired hunting breed is beautiful, deeply affectionate, gets along with all, and super energetic. He is soft, gentle, fiercely loyal, and loving. If you want a Vizsla Poodle mix, go for it. However, you might want to find out both the good and the bad of owning one. Pros This sounds like a broken record as virtually all dogs are affectionate. However, the Vizsla Poodle mix takes this to a whole new level. Both mom and dad are affectionate breeds who love hanging out with family. They love cuddling as a way to bond with their owners chemically. If you let them snuggle with you, they can go on forever. They enjoy licking your feet, maintaining eye contact, jumping on you, and rolling on their backs when you are around. Expect nothing less from the hybrid. He will show you and your family plenty of affection. Good With Kids If you have kids, it is important to get a dog that gets along with them. Although Miniature Poodles are strung and not ideal for families with kids, Standard Poodles are the exact opposite. They are energetic and would love playing games with kids in the sun all morning. Vizslas also enjoy being in the company of young children. A handful of them can be too energetic for kids under six. If you end up with a designer dog of this nature, early socialization will take care of the problem once and for all. Related Posts:. Gold-oxide, red, tan, and brown Suitable for: Active families that can cater to the needs of a highly social and energetic dog Temperament: Intelligent, easy to train, active, energetic, fun, loyal, and affectionate The Poodle Vizsla mix is a crossbreed between the Standard Poodle and Hungarian Vizsla. Vizsladoodles can inherit a combination of physical traits and dispositions from either parent. Fortunately, most dogs bring most, if not all, of the best qualities from Poodles and Vizslas. Generally, these designer dogs are affectionate, intelligent, and easy to train. They are also incredibly friendly without being as clingy as Vizslas. They can spend time alone without getting frustrated and enjoy the company of kids and other pets. Moreover, they are highly adaptable and can fit into different settings and conform to the routines in place. Dogs that are harder to train will require a bit more patience and practice. Proper exercise, nutrition, and hygiene also play an important role in the lifespan of your pet. More social dogs have a tendency to run up to strangers for pets and scratches, while less social dogs shy away and are more cautious, even potentially aggressive. They can be a lot of work because of their higher energy expenditure. Providing plenty of physical stimulation is the best way to tame their naughty side. Ideally, they need at least two hours of daily exercise, while adults become relatively calm with just an hour of workouts. The active and playful nature of Vizsladoodles puppies also implies a greater need for proper food and nutrition. For most dog breeds, switching from puppy to adult food at seven to nine months of age is safe. Poodle Vizslas are an exception and need puppy food for 12 to 14 months. This ensures they have plenty of fuel to maintain an active lifestyle. Their gentle and calm nature makes them excellent additions to any family. With some training and socialization, the dogs get along with adults, kids, and other pets within the household. As intelligent hybrids, Poodle Vizsla mixes are easy to train and excel in obedience and agility training. You only need to beware of their stubborn streak and provide firm instructions to establish yourself as their leader. Edible incentives can also do wonders to make your training, socialization, and bonding sessions a success. Moreover, Vizsladoodles love pleasing their owners and quickly fall in line once they identify you as a pack member. Still, they make excellent watchdogs and will alert you if something seems amiss. Are These Dogs Good for Families? They are not as high-strung as miniature Poodles and, instead, take up the cuddly natures of their Vizsla parents. You can expect your dog to enjoy playing games with your kids. Although it is not likely to nip if mishandled, it could be too rumbustious for kids under seven. You must supervise play sessions between your pet and younger children. Poodle Vizsla mixes love the company of other pets. You can blame this on their active and energetic personalities, making them more inclined to befriend different playmates. Whether your Vizsladoodle will be tempted to chase around your kitty or bunny depends highly on their inherited traits. Generally, this designer breed will not start trouble with larger pets. However, it can have a blast tracking the scent of your kitty before pouncing on it. Here are the basic things you should know when owning a Poodle Vizsla. Although Vizsladoodles are not picky eaters, they need balanced food and calorie restrictions for a better quality of life. Generally, your pet needs a protein-packed diet with beef, poultry, or seafood as the main ingredient. Quality, nutrient-loaded kibbles for medium-sized dogs often fit the bill, although you should beware of products with grain-sourced proteins. Components like barley, corn, oats, wheat, and soy are notorious for causing digestive problems and allergies. If you are having trouble deciding the best type and quantity of food for your furry friend, it will not hurt to consult your vet. The expert can help you craft a dietary program that matches the precise nutritional requirements of your pet. It is active and energetic, which can pose some drawbacks for pet owners with tight schedules. Puppies require at least two hours of vigorous exercise, while adults can expel pent-up energy within an hour of workouts. The easiest way to provide adequate physical stimulation is to take your furry friend on hikes and long walks. The Poodle Vizsla mix also makes an excellent jogging and swimming buddy. You must also provide mental stimulation through games like food puzzles, hide and seek, and obstacle courses. Such games help kill boredom and discourage destructive mannerisms. You can persuade your dog to embrace training by being firm and providing positive reinforcement to encourage desired behavior. You can also breathe easily, knowing your furry friend will not accumulate a gross doggy smell if it skips a shower. Most importantly, clean the eyes and ears every other day and clip the nails after every three to four weeks. Although crossbreeds are generally healthier than purebreds, you must ask your breeder for the health clearances of the parent dogs. Healthy parents often guarantee equally healthy puppies. Here are a few health problems some Vizsladoodles inherit from the parent breeds. Minor Conditions.
